Auditors get to ask questions and get access to secure facilities. Lokhnar could upload a virus to disable the satellites while they were doing their "audit".

Van Horn liked the plan, and would get his people to work on getting the forged identities needed for the heist. While doing that, he suggested the pirates take a few days and enjoy themselves, on his dime.

Oh yes, I'm quite familiar with that story. This timeline has played around the periphery of its plot in a couple of gens set in the post-war years. As yet, the "we found a Great Old One under the ice" affair remains unresolved in the parts of the mid-century era that are as yet undeveloped. Nah, just a blatant violation of national sovereignty by an Anglo-French Imperial expeditionary force.
