How often do you actually get games in? What do you normally play and with who?
>>
How much does GW pay to push this woke slop?
>>
So happy to get my GW AoS payment straight from Tel Aviv. I would shill ToW instead but GW doesn't allocate a psyops budget to failed side projects.

How do I get more money from GW for posting about AoS? I have a family to feed.

Is the start collecting a good starting point for gits? None of the spearhead to be found in my area anymore (only the gitmob one which I'm not interested in)
It's very similiar to the spearhead; has a loonboss and a unit of rockguts, but no stabbas and regular squigs instead of bounders.
>>
>>98923833
If it's cheaper than RRP and you want the models, yeah. Read the rules then their warscrolls on wahapedia and decide for yourself.

my LGS has the battleforce with the 3 treelords and 6 kurnothi on discount for about 200 USD. It's a huge discount for some awesome models that will probably make up over 1k points. Unfortunately it's still a big purchase with a lot of plastic I'd need to paint and I don't like many of the models outside of the kurnothi and treelords.
Anyway nice kurnothi, they look awesome especially the bases
>>
>>98923833
depends how cheap you can get the box. Sadly they don't have a discount box for anything outside of gitmob. The troggs are good and the squigs are fine in their respective battle formations, I hear that night goblins are nothing special so the loonboos won't be much use unless you really really want to play moonclan and run lots of stabbas. Most people run trolls or squigs. If you want to play trolls, i'd skip the box and try to get 6 trolls instead even if you need to pay a little extra.

They also got a troggoth themed christmas box last year that will get you most of the way there for a trogg army. see if you can find it for MSRP or lower
>>
>>98923494

How do you go about to get people to play this game?
I have friends who are still, deep in the "I hate AoS just because" mood. The game seems great fun, and the miniatures are miles ahead 40k in my opinion. I have several armies, a fully painted board, tried to invite for smaller games on a regular basis, but alas, no games where played...
>>
>>98924406
If they don't want to play they don't want to play.
>>

does anyone here play SCE? I heard they're actually hard to play and require good setup and positioning. What's their usual gameplan, like their win condition in most games? Also do they have a good points-to-dollar ratio? I like their heroes and melee infantry. The vindicators (that's the spearmen) and Vigilors (archers) are my favorite and they have some cool foot heroes like Bastian and the relictors. I've been on the lookout for some cheap secondhand models recently

>>98924406
if they hate the game just because for no reason then forget them, find other people to play with
>>
>>98924406
Damn, my suggestion was to invite people to play with your minis but if they won't do even that, you might have to relegate yourself to hobbying.
>>
How are the sylvaneth spearheads? Both for spearhead and translating to an AoS army list
>>
Hmm, interesting, this is from tournament attendance numbers for respective years. What's going on in France?
>>
>>98924436
Idk about the new one but the old spearhead is really really good in game, and also just a great starting point for an army.
>>
>>98924424
Based on tournament data the best warscrolls are Vigilors, palladors, and dracoths. When I last played them in 3e there was a lot of deepstriking and decent shooting; I found that moreso than my own positioning my success was dependent on opponents' experience with screening out deep strikes.

They have a variety of build options - giant dragon with Praetors to give it a 5++, castle style with a lot of shooting, deepstrike heavy annihilator spam, or fast and durable units like Vanguard Palladors which can run, charge, and shoot twice all in the same turn.

I think right now stormdrakes are in a bad spot, so the only thing I wouldn't suggest is spamming just the Stormdrake guard. They're still repenting for their misdeeds and I hope they don't receive forgiveness for another 10 years at least.
>>
>>98924438
Can't spend all strike rioting and beating scabs. Some days you just go play Le Warhammer instead. Or work's closed cuz of riots, so Le Warhammer instead.

>>
>>98924481

I just realized that the reason i'm way more into AoS than 40k is because the game has a lot of armies with beastiaries (i play mainly ogors and seraphon).
If you could add new animals and beasts to your favorite faction, what would you like to see? Things like mounts, big monsters, packs, anything goes.

I need some kind anon to help me, please.
I'm looking for the Kurnothi army box, since they're the obvious next choice for a release. However, when I go to the Games Workshop webstore, all I can find under new releases for Age of Sigmar is some sort of dwarf faction no one asked for, and which clearly no one is buying.
Where are the Kurnothi? My browser must have glitched or something. Thank you in advance.

Lately I play exclusively with my wife since our weekends are too busy to go to LGS. A big game once a month, smaller games every 2-3 weeks. We played Spearhead for a bit but after 6 months of no new content we dropped it and came back to playing the 1st edition. We even decided to start new armies - she settled on Sylvaneth but I'm a bit torn between Hammers of Sigmar SCE, Bloodbound and BCR.

Long lapsed Fyreslayer and KO player who last played in 2e here, is AoS worth returning to in 4e? I had to move for a new job across the US around the end of 2e and never got around to finding any local hobby scene, so my armies were left in boxed and languishing. I had a hobby bro from my old town reconnect and tell me that Fyreslayers were nuked and the remainders shoehorned into some new Dwarf book. How are the KO doing in 4th edition now that my main army is useless without the new miniatures? I have 40ish Arkanauts, 20 or so Thunderers and a mix of Endrins and Wardens - 12 or so? Two or three frigates, bunch of gun haulers and an Ironclad, if that is of any help. I miss playing my gunboats and well drilled firing lines.

you're fyreslayer army is likey very dead, but the stuff that is dead could be proxied for the new khazalid stuff.
Khadrons are fully intact with some new toys here and there but ruleswise are kinda in the can.
if you have a scene I Would just try out the game with khadrons and if you're impressions are positive ( it likely wont with how in the gutter khadrons are rn) then i'd consider the khazalite souping army list that has the ability to let you soup normal dwarves, khadrons and fyreslayers.

The following units are gone:
>vulkites
>battlesmith
>runemaster
>grimwrath
>doomseeker
>terrain and spells
You can just proxy your vulkites for hearthguard and the heroes should be obvious enough.
But we'll see if pure Fyreslayers will actually be viable at all. In any case don't do anything drastic with your models.

fyreslayers is definitely still playable. in fact mono-fyreslayers in the new book look incredibly strong because to compensate for the squatted models, the remaining models got some really insane new stats and abilities. so dont throw out your fyreslayers just yet

as for KO? they're a top placing army. still fiddly to play as ever, but they consistently do well in events and play the missions and battle tactics like champs. the sad news here is that thunderers for whatever reason were giga nerfed and do basically zero damage now, you only take a minimum squad for their utility but thats about it (same thing happened to blightkings for maggotkin or pigs for ironjawz, theres a trend of dumpstering units that were popular last edition). endrinriggers are good and very cheap, wardens are more pricey but they are now the hardest hitting unit in the book and a core piece of KOs muscle often paired with brokk and a frigate. an ironclad with 20 arkanauts is also a common pick. i havent seen a ton of gunhauler spam these days, their offensive profile is pretty anemic but you can still probably find room for 1 or 2 in a list. KO also got a new dual box in the form of harpoon crew/salvagers, which are somewhere inbetween arkanauts and wardens as a sort of medium assault troop. the harpoon crew get a techy combat phase move that makes them slippery and a better shooting profile, the salvagers have a better melee profile and a rend buff so they're more straightforward chargers whereas the harpoon crew are more skirmishy
>>
>>98925609
CoS 2e+3e, Ironjawz 1e, and FS 2e tomes are my favorite, but amongst them CoS 2e is the one I'd pick for the balance of lore, artwork, painting guides, and unit variety.

a quick TLDR on what fyreslayers have to work with now

-gotrek is now a fyreslayers unit. hes less powerful than he used to be but also half the cost, still very fighty and tough, and now interacts with some of the army rules.

-new named character ormyr. has 2 different buffs for droths and can also shut down shooting or casting units he gets close to. also kinda fighty with 8 multi damage attacks and 10 health

-runefather on droth. fighty as hell, has a once per game waaagh of 12" radius +1 attack buff. also has a -1 save debuff. also all droths bleed mortal wound lava when struck

-runeson on droth: can transport your infantry like a KO boat, and has a horde buster rampage

-smiter on droth: priest, has a different hordebuster rampage, and has a +1 to wound buff. solid

-father on foot: this guy is huge. gets to pick a single unit for a retinue. he gets a 4+ ward while near them, and if you can power him up, he gives that whole unit a 4+ ward too. so you can get a squad of 36 wounds worth of flameseekers on a 4+ ward. crazy

-runeson on foot: 12" aura of +2 to charge rolls. incredibly good

-smiter on foot: priest with +1 to chant, can hand out +2 movement to a friendly unit for free

-flamekeeper: has his wonky roll based on units dead, but hands out +1 damage to a squad, still very strong

-exile: deepstriking fight first combat guy with damage 3 attacks on the charge. can move on the enemy turn if powered up. currently some weird tech where you make him the general and suicide him for grudge tokens

-flameseekers: the new bread and butter. lots of health, lots of attacks, utterly shuts down monsters. really solid core troop unit, basically vulkites+++

-shooty hearthguard: kinda mid but they have a hit debuff which could be clutch against 4+ to hit armies like destruction

-hearthguard berz: not quite the powerhouses they used to be but still solid. give themselves and nearby heroes a 5+ ward while they're together
>>
>>98925609
1st IDK and 2nd BoK were kino as fuck.
>>
>>98925838
>>98925018

also, even if you dont like the new khazalite stuff, the khazalite heroes mostly work with the fyreslayers units (most of the buffs in the army just require the khazalites keyword which everything has) so you can just pick and choose a runewright or hjulda to include alongside your otherwise fully fyreslayers force, or even proxy them with some off your own older fyreslayers heroes that are now defunct (the runemaster could be a runewright for example).

plus the fyreslayers have been asking for golems for a while, and now we can take golems, so thats a win in my book.

still sucks that we lost a lot of heroes and the vulkites, but there are definitely silver linings to be found in the new situation, and the fyreslayers definitely still work as their own stand alone army

Nothing left but fists and sharp sticks.’ He stood and drew his cutlass. He rubbed blood out of his face, smearing it into his hair and beard. Maggotkin, 3rd edition best, but 2nd close behind. They were magical, they not only made me want to read BG but were also full of ideas, like the cycle, that 4th basically destroyed in its quest for blandness, they made for the most cancerous, miserable play experience ever with help from other Chaos books. I remember fondly using Glottkin, a Sloppity Bilepiper, Be'lakor, 2 cockatrices in a mostly demonic list.
"My Varanguard fight" "Dark master says no."
"Chosen are going to fight." "Yeah, the two that reach because you can't pile in, but they hit on a 6, go on."
"The Prince smacks the Glottkin." "Good, AoD and the cycle gives it ward 4+."

I'm torn between
>expanding my gitz collection to playable army size
>starting SCE
>expanding my IJ spearhead to playable army size

I like all of their models with IJ probably being the most annoying to paint since they're yellow. But they have some nice sculpts and they seem the most honest and straightforward to play. No BS or cheating, just move up the board and wait for the time to strike.

I think it would be cool and funny to field like 120 stabbas and flood the board in goblins even though they suck. But I do have about 20 squig riders and 2 units of squigs so it wouldn't be so hard to lean into them instead. What bothers me is the pure amound of RNG shoved in their book for no reason.

As for SCE, they have cool models and would be cheapest but I've only ever painted 1 before. I imagine they are like IJ but with more deepstriking and versatility.

My main army is MoN and while I've played a few Spearhead matches I've only played a singel 1k game with them. Painting green does get boring after a while.

Anyone able to weigh in here for any of these factions?

i play all 3

ironjawz can run pretty much anything and do well. big pigs, mawkrushas, brutes and ragers all pack a whallop. ardboyz will just hold like an iron wall for 5 turns straight against almost anything in the game, and big pigs are great battering rams. even the gore gruntas are still useful as sort of fast jammy tarpits. biggest weaknesses are their utter lack of ranged firepower meaning they dont threaten anything they arent immediately next to, and a lot of their units are kinda slow, so its easy for a clever opponent to box them in or tie them up to keep them from scoring. you will almost never get tabled though, they have some of the best armor in the game army wide, and arent very vulnerable to mortal damage either because they have a shit ton of health for relatively low points. they are super susceptible to hit penalties though, as is most of destruction.

gits is a big army with a lot of playstyles. that said, you can make stabba spam with squigs work. stabbas for board control and objectives backed up by boingrot bounders and squig herd bringing the pain is a good start. the army has lots of recursion so while it dies easily, it also keeps coming back. its very possible with gits to just bury the opponent in so many scoring bodies that they can never dig their way out to gain a lead. just make sure you get the charge with your squigs, dont throw them away before they land.

for stormcast you want to usually lean into the elite units (annihilators, prosecutors, reclusians, praetors, the 3 man squads and the dragon cavalry) and the big heroes (ionus, krondus, karazai, bastian, yndrasta, C-prime). that tends to be their go to strategy, its a shock and awe type of army that wants to hit hard from sudden and unpredictable angles to take out the opponents big threats all at once. it does NOT want to play the long game of attrition and holding and grinding like ironjawz or gits can (gits love long grind games)

I'm leaning to these guys hardest cause they seem to be the most comfortable and laid back. I really just want to play a cool game where I get to fight and throw a lot of dice and interact.
I've played their spearhead a few times and I remember how shocked I was when my Megaboss that cleared 9/10 blissbard archers in a single combat.

It's good that htey can run anything, but do you mean combined or in a skewed list? Like how ardboyz spam used to be the meta or pigs only working in a pig-only army? Do you run both the war-chanter and weirdnob in each list or pick one?

>gitz
Thats good to hear cause I like those parts of the army most. Is the loonboss ever worth running? I want to believe I can turn stabbas into a decent damage dealer but it is probably just a waste of time. He seems pretty shit compared to the one on giant cave squig. As for casters, I assume skragrott is mandatory, but do you run any other support pieces like another shaman, gobbapalooza or snufflers?

>SCE
Do the elites serve as line holders or hammers or both? The big characters kind of draw the enemy's attention while the elites drop in and exploit any openings in a huge "go" turn right?

I assume you're interested in the bloodboun mortals since the daemons don't have much trim or detail at all outside the Bloodthirsters

If you don't want to paint the trim then just buy StD chaos warriors and paint them red. They have way less trim and more up to date models. The new StD battleforce can easily be used as a BoK box. All you need to do is get some 3rd part bases for the cavalry

>run hero as a skull crusher
>combine him with the 5 knights for a reinforced squad of skullcrushers
>varanguard make 3 more skullcrushers
>5 chosen become skullreapers or wrathmongers
>10 chaos warriors become blood warriors

You're gonna need bloodreavers. Their sculpts are old and kinda of silly/cute looking and they're also online only. Personally I have the 20 chaos marauders from TOW that I run as bloodreavers or warriors or w/e I need them as since reavers and warriors have the same base size. They're much more expensive but I love the sculpts and their generic look makes them fit more into other armies.

the trim really isn't THAT bad once you find your rythm. StD and BoK are both chaos so you're painting trim either way unless you want to convert some SCE and paint them red or black.

also holy shit Blood warriors from 2014 cost 72 dollars and are the same points as chaos warriors

>>
>>98927539
Here's a fun trick:

Spray prime with silver, gold or brass metallic. You can even zenithal prime with a black priming layer and preferred metallic from above to get gradient shading.

Wash entire model with yellow-brown contrast or speedpaint. Wait for it to dry.

Drybrush a highlight of all metals with either bright silver or light gold metallic paint.

Paint all red metal areas with preferred red contrast or speedpaint.

Paint non metallic areas like flesh, leather and bones.

This way you don't need to worry about trim separately, just worry about painting within the lines.

>and after ten fucking years I don't complain when that includes DEI shit.
why wouldn't you complain about stuff you consider shit? complaining is free, you either complain about what you find shitty or you aren't actually finding it shitty in the first place and this is just performative.
>>
>>98928265
Why do you keep eating shit from the shit vendors if you think it's shit? It clearly doesn't bother me, I don't play armies that it matters and I don't care what you play as long as you do. But for someone who cares GW has spent ten years indicating their goal for gay negroid trannyism and you STILL hang out around their properties like flies around shit. >Why do you keep eating shit from the shit vendors if you think it's shit?
I don't buy the shit I whine about, I wish ot wasn't shitty so I would want to buy some quality stuff
>It clearly doesn't bother me
then we go back to what I said: you don't actually find DEI shit, you actually support it and want to whine about your chud boogeyman but need to be performative about DEI shit on 4chan to not pass as a faggot.
except you didn't pass.
>>
>>98928277
I don't need to be performative, it's there whether I quit GW product tomorrow or not, and I didn't find it jarring after 2e when it was clear that this game from its inception is the DEI game and every character has a sidecut. I made my peace with it and moved on. You, on the other hand, are buying products from a company whose fundamental stance on you and your opinions is contrary.
>>
>>98928290
>I don't need to be performative
and yet you're doing exactly that, by calling it shit and then immediately afterwards saying you don't mind it
the very fact of finding something shitty is minding it, if you don't mind it it's because you never genuinely found it shitty

you said you don't have a problem with it because you happen to chose a faction where it doesn't matter, while I told you that if something is shitty then I don't buy it, so theoretically we're both buying products that we selectively deem worthy enough to be bought from a company that we both agree has a shit direction as a whole
yet you've been insistent in pretending we're different and in telling me to go away

that's because calling DEI shit was performative on your part, you're actually in support of it, and the only honest part of your posts is your enmity towards your chud boogeyman, which you now think I am and so wish me away, but there are far greater chances you kill yourself in the next 5 years than there are of me stop getting what I like and voicing what I dislike

I would ask what examples you’re thinking of but I don’t wanna start anything

Anon, a tub of brush soap is 5 dollars and turns GW brushes into detail brushes. It's part of painting better to take care of your brushes, the soap works like leave-in conditioner to point them

That's true I'm very sorry to all kyrgyz warhammer players.

Ok, faggot, I love DEI. I love black cocks. I love trans bussy. Now what? I spend zero part of my day crying about what does and doesn't have gay black DEI cocks in it. I support it.

On the other hand, you FAGGOTS come into the DEI game after ten years to cry about Sigmarines. You don't want to do stupid identity politics? Shut the fuck up about sigmar being the gay nigher game ten years in.

starcraft is gay though…

Wouldn’t TOW be even worse in that regard >>98927526

I'll gladly use them in CoS, just a shame we lost the flexibility of 2e mercenary companies, which had some 1-N versatility
>>
>>98928491
Okay, then don't play that either if you hate seeing DEI shit, play T9A or something. Either get over it or leave it alone, don't fucking hover around shit you don't like.
>>
>>98928494
NTA but no. I will keep complaining because I want it to change toward what I want
>>
i don't have a horse in the dei race but i do find it pretty funny that it's being embraced by the lore community in what is largely an unromantic/sexless setting that lately only exists to push plastic crack.
>>
>>98928506
It won't. So you're just a fuckin loser whining.
>>
>>98928511
It changed toward it. It can change back. It will change back
>>
every tear I shed about DEI convinces another GW design lead to abandon it
we will win chudsisters
>>
>>98928517
I’m not gonna give up lol. Dunno why this is causing you to have this meltdown. Maybe trench crusade is more your speed?
>>
>>98928517
Sorry, seppo congress is blue again. You're getting a Muslim name and free healthcare to pay for your transition.

>Ok, faggot, I love DEI. I love black cocks. I love trans bussy. Now what?
now you're honest, and that's good
>I spend zero part of my day crying about what does and doesn't have gay black DEI cocks in it.

Fair enough. I picked up a Deathrattle spearhead and Wight King on steed to try that Valheim charred scheme. Unfortunately I’m saving them as Christmas presents so I’m not gonna be able to touch em yet. In the meantime, I’m debating if they should do the metal as bronze with verdigris or rusted iron

Not really a model worth even looking at here.

The wardancer is alright
>>
>>98928494
I don’t really agree but regardless I was just pointing that out
>>98928510
I think the general community has embraced it rather than just the lore on
