Yesterday, while drinking and crying, I realized an interesting thing.
The only time I actually had an interesting campaign with a vampire antagonist in a tabletop rpg was, surprisingly, a Warhammer RP. It was long adventure that took decent amount of sessions, but I remember it covered a lot(noble society in city, doing shit in slums and countryside, cult of slaanesh shaping to be as final villain), with the vampire being a hidden villain who guided party to do shit. So I began wondering why it never happened in other tabletop games, and I realized that the majority of them including even big ones like D&D and Pathfinder, don’t really support vampires as major potential villains that well.
Fuck, even liches did job of what I want from vampires way better in these settings.
Or am I wrong?

Why are you drinking and crying, anon?
>Or am I wrong?
Half and half. Some settings certainly make it easier to have a vampire as antagonist, IF you want that antagonist to be clandestine. In games like D&D and its clones, there's almost always some mojo to detect these things. So if you want a vampire antagonist in those settings, they have to work through intermediaries. But saying one or the other support them as villains, then I would say no. There's tons of different kinds of antagonists, and you are not obligated to have vampires follow the cliché.
