I loved action figures as a kid, obviously, and still have some from my childhood. I went through a resurgence of interest/love for the medium many years later as an adult. I was vehemently against statue shit and could very clearly see action figures were superior in every way. Now I think action figures are retarded and regret every single purchase I ever made as an adult and I think statues are decisively superior in every metric.
To each their own I guess. I fell for the statue meme not once but twice and I felt retarded both times because they are so boring. Figures are fun because I can put them in various poses including poses that can interact with other figures. Statues do nothing.
>>11777754show me one good action figure. not one that has good articulation but then looks like complete shit. not one that looks good but has shit articulation. not one that looks good and has good articulation but will break if you look at it wrong.you can't. the truth is action figures fail because they are literally toys for children. in this context they excel. for an adult? they are literal junk.
>>11777749rememeber kids: the less articulation it has, the more it costs.
>>11777758You are just making cheap rhetoric that could easily be turned around against you by changing the bias of the whole argument>show me a good figure according to my specific set of rulesI can asure you I know a lot more about sculpre as fine art that you and If I were acting like a pretentious faggot all of your statues could easily be put on the slop category compared to the "superior" statues
>>11777770>to my specific set of ruleslol and what is your specific set of "rules"? if you can use it to coom or not? fucking retard freak
Obvious bait thread. Anyone trying to have a legit conversation here is retarded.
I just collect both. A statue in a static pose can look a little dull at times, but when they come in a pose that's difficult/impossible for an action figure to replicate, especially if they include special effects, they really pop on the shelf.
>>11777797>museum pose can be a little dullso don't buy museum pose statues? do they even make those anymore lol
I've bought a few lately but I don't know how to play with them. Should I get into photos?
>>11777843i think you're supposed to have hot nerd girls over and then they skip to your bedroom after witnessing your aesthetic dominance

>>11777855thin veneer of greatness>>11777861this thread is about why action figures fail not why statues are obviously superior. now go suck on one of your little tikes toys
>>11777865>this thread is about why action figures failcool, rule 2 says statues suck now show me the rule where it says action figures suck because taking apart toys is more fun than taking apart a statue because statues are trash
>>11777867>still typingi don't think you are giving it your all sucking on that little tikes toy
>>11777869rule 2 says statues suck, show me the rule where it says action figures suck

>>11777874cool now show we the rule where it says action figures suck because rule 2 says statues dont belong here
>>11777878did you shove a really big one up your ass, too? because you seem cranky
>>11777760Man, that Lulu could use some lewdness. Nothing graphic just some tasteful cheesecake, like a pinup girl from the 1940s>>11777784You don't play with toys man. No one here does, you mainly just bitch and argue with people about toys, usually toys they don't own. Every once and awhile you can take some pictures of a toy you bought in the box and post it before you eventually return it. The only thing an adult can enjoy about children's play things is arguing, it all depends on you and how personal you take it that some stranger you'll never meet enjoying something you dislike in a deranged and often frightening way.Have fun.
>>11777899discord made zoomies mad they own nothing which is why they cry about not having money to buy cool toys and go out of their way to dox people for owning things lmao
>>11777904i hate zoomers as much as the next guy but you need to take your meds little buddy
>>11777758Dude, you need to accept that action figures are not, and should not, be exact 1:1 replicas of the characters they're based on except tiny. All the seem lines, gaps in the articulated limbs, and other slight imperfections are part of that fun charm that you felt as a kid where you didn't mind those things and still thought they were the coolest shit. If anything, those imperfections make them something of an "alternate dimension" variant of a character like from Rick and Morty or the toys in Toy Story as in-universe, they are inaccurate to their source material.
>>11777749cool blog retard
>>11777911that would be fine but they only make junk now. OG playmates TMNT were great and looked nothing like the comics, cartoons, or movie. they rereleased them and they were complete dog shit. and rick and morty is the epitome of faggotry. season 1 and 2 are s tier, thoughbeit.

>>11777758In that case, I'd rather buy garbage that poses and I can whoosh around for fun, instead of some overpriced paperweight that I might as well leave at the store if im just going to look at it>>11777979These still prove OP's point because these still look terrible anyway, and they're overpriced too. But also it's toys like these that do what it takes to push a "toys arent just for kids" message, but with all the effort of working hard on it just to charge for hundreds. Anything that says a kid shouldnt have it, really, but also play on a grown man's insecurity of being a toy collector. Toy collecting will always be a cringe hobby, so might as well stick to what local retailers sell
>>11778427how does Nottaa Cyan Lion prove OP's point?
Japanese statues are fun, they have a nice range of affordable small things and exquisitely sculpted erotica. It can be frustrating that they domineer the market over there, but I think they're cool enough even if I prefer articulated figures. they understand that the subject matter they're adapting is a drawn illustration and try to bring the appeal of a 2D illustration into 3D, without being limited to the constraints of reality, yet embracing how being in 3D can be used to emphasize the nice qualities of it. American statues, and that includes Japanese companies like Prime 1 that cater to the American/Chinese market, are awful to me. Just grotesque and unappealing. They bog down the sculpts in details that looks uncanny and unappealing. They're incredibly expensive and take up a ton of space. They're made of heavy material that can chip or be subject to damage easily. They're a massive investment in space, money, and mind. One set of American statues I do think are nice are the Batman Black and White ones, though. Those feel like Japanese statues in their design theory-trying to bring the 2D into 3D, at a small size and affordable price.

anime and coomer statues are for trannies, though
