So we're getting the first official American WonderFest at Momocon. Anyone going?I like the idea of a US WonFes but no idea if there's the same garage kit culture in the states as there is in Japan.

DesignerCon had a decent amount of people making and selling their own kits last time I went years ago. I can only imagine the advancements in resin printing has only made it better.

We'll see, I mean Wonderfest Shanghai has basically become the biggest toy event in the world now for reveals. With all the Chinese studios completely taking over, they seem to value it, hence Xesray doing another exclusive figure, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see more stuff from like Inart, UPF, other random Chiba teams etc. even if they aren't at the event, they might just use it as an announcement/update day.

One thing I was planning to sell had them jump me with 4% royalties and no option to change the price to adjust. Yesterday I got an email telling me that a thing that had been approved for months was suddenly denied. I think the reason I am a weeaboo/chinaboo is that they can at least run Wonderfest competently.

If enough people go to the momocon mini-wonfes, they've said that they're going to start looking into the logistics of hosting a real wonfes here. So in that case you actually might start seeing well known sculptors traveling out here. Because of that, its very worth going and visiting the wonfes booths.
