>>11783482Which requires, however, a price increase. Nothing, including the box, is free. Hasbro doesn't add accessories out of the goodness of their hearts.
>>11783489>Sensible shelves for both iterations of Magneto, but which shelf would you put Xorn on?He'd have to go on a seperate display with the rest of the New X-Men. Them and a redo of the O5 in their original looks are the last two iterations of the X-Men I'd want for my collection. Thankfully, with the new season of X-Men 97 we'll probably be getting some based on the show. It's too bad they won't have the Quietly artstyle but it is what it is. If they do Beast, they better make it so we can at least swap heads with Cat Beast since in the new season he'll be wearing his New X-Men outfit but still won't be in his Cat Beast form. >>11783494Shut up dude, you're not even contributing anything to the conversation.

I actually got my first Marvel Legends around 2018/19 but didn't really get serious about them until about a year ago. I therefore get most second hand or go without, unless I really REALLY want something. This F4 Spidey is something I'd like, as a color variant, but since now that I have come to know the line I realize it's an older buck and not even pinless. Plus, I don't want the Wolverine and the 2PK is overpriced from scalpers, I don't think it's worth the $30-40 plus most people want for just the SM figure or the $45-50 plus cheapest listing for the 2PK. If I am willing to be patient, what's the chances these get released solo and would it will likely just be the same buck or can I expect a better one? Should I just pay or decide to do without? It won't be the first time I just do without. And thanks.
>>11784068I'd say that version of Spider-man could potentially never be released again. But I'm no expert.
>>11784070I was going to buy the original pizza spidey until people told me elsewhere that there was a retro carded and even a different one. Instead of spending $60-70, I finally got the Target exclusive in a beat up, rained on card for like $20 plus postage. That's all I'm wanting or hoping for.Symbiote or black suit SM is another example, as these guys have pointed out >>11784051 >>11783737>without any kind of gimmick or weird paint job, and I ended up getting one for free because Target sent me one by mistake when I ordered a different ML, and said "keep/donate/throw away" the "wrong" one and shipped me my correct order. If I had done the return at a store, I probably would not have scored a free figure, Bezos would certainly force me to head to Whole Foods with it.
>>11784074if you just want a regular spider-man, just wait like a year, they'll put another one outI specifically meant that blue spider-man
>>11784077No, I have plenty of regulars - about 8 now, if you count the animated ones. I want another 8-10 of variants. I am aiming for some weird ones, like Negative Zone, UK, and Bombastic Bag Man. I also picked up one of the gamerverse ones and two others but want like 2-4 more. So the blue F4 would be nice but since I paid $20 for Bombastic, I'm not too attached to paying much more now for this just because he's got no paper bag over his head.
>>11784080there's the 6 armed one, they eventually did one with an actual ab-crunch, so avoid the previous ones that didn't have thatthere's also Ai Apaec or however you spell it, the Dark Avengers Spider-Man that came out relatively recentlyBut that's not actually Peter Parker, if that matters to you
>>11784084Yeah, I scored the red and blue two pack with Morb for $15 when Walmart had a rollback, that's one with the ab-crunch. Since I got him, I passed on Dark Avengers although he looks interesting. If I saw him for $10 to $18, I would but the cheapest I found him was $24-27, which is pretty much retail. >not actually PeterAnd no, it doesn't matter. I picked up two Ben's and I think one of the variants I have is Kaine? I'm selling the Nightcrawler, though. It looks too much like too many other SM figures except for his tail and ears, and you wouldn't really notice him in a group display. Which is what I am going to do with these Spider-Men on that particular wall. And he's still in the package so probably easier to sell. But thanks for the suggestions.
>>11783671no one knows?
>>11783497I love New X-Men despite it going kind of off the rails towards the end, so I'd happily take any figures based on it too. Always thought those jackets looked sick and consider them one of the rare examples of movie/comic synergy actually working out. Getting those outfits from the 97 subline would also work me though. Something more based on Quitely's work would be preferable, but like you said, no way that's happening for a variety of reasons. And Wolverine hair Beast with cat Beast's New X-Men uniform is an intriguing notion, though like everyone else I'm kind of just ready for them to finally reveal the S1/classic Beast already.>>11783809I missed the preorder window, but I'm going to try to get one on release. I already have retro Apocalypse, which is great and more than suffices for representing the character, but I just really like having a big figure an entire team can fight at once. I also like the more animated headsculpt and, even though he kind of always just talks a big game and never actually ends up doing shit, the character was pushed so heavily when I was kid in both the cartoon and comics of the time that I have enough of a soft spot for him to justify spending the money.
>>11783671I usually preorder import figures from Ami Ami
>>11784130All I can say is that he's on Japanese Amazon. It may just take US Amazon longer to list them.
>>11784141I've been dying for some New X-Men stuff for years but figured it would just never really happen since the run is so rooted in the 2000s. But, between them going back and doing a bunch of 2000s looks for characters and the New X-Men outfits appearing in 97, I'll get my wish sooner than later.
>>11783394>>11783592>>11783430>I'll wait for a CT preferably something that not just one more fucking Spider-Man in just one more fucking RED & BLUE costume

>>11783809I bought him because he reminds me of the giant one I had as a kid. He does seem out of scale for regular use though.
>>11784507pretty sure CT is bootlegs of imports. So essentially you are upgrading a bootleg. it’s not a real import per se. one could also argue the same of Legends. you gotta buy 3rd accessories for characters like punisher or deadpool. make your own webbing for spiderman, not to mention the plastic capes legends tend to have that limit you
>>11783735but I don't want to cure cancer I want to make people buy 6 figures to get the one they want!

Why do you think Hasbro releases drops in a spaced out manner--like for example 1 today, 1 tomorrow? I believe it's some kind of collusion with Amazon and other companies that offer free shipping for large orders. They don't want too much dropped at once or else people can get free shipping too easily. The exception are still proper waves where Hasbro holds firm to releasing them at the same time.
>>11783393Yep that's an example from hasbro

https://x.com/threezeroJP/status/2054360727255924990Eww. Worse than the Revoltech, which I preordered twice.
I need some help here as I feel like I'm losing my mind. I was gifted picrel for Christmas circa 2002. I have absolutely zero recollection of having ever owned the included Spidey. What's more, I got a movie Spidey alongside it that had compatible magnetic feet. Now a portion of the set WAS released in the '02 movie line, but not the wall and balcony pieces. Am I crazy? My childhood memories tend to be fairly accurate, but I'm really second guessing myself here.
>>11785375there's tons of random toybiz releases like that
>>11785227Glad I'll be saving some money with most of the designs from these upcoming waves. Might pick up the Nightcrawler if they don't rerelease the wave 1 figure and hopefully we'll get a standard 97 Beast before this look, but they're all easy passes for me otherwise. Hope they don't make us wait too long for this Psylocke.
>>11785418Sunspot looks so much fucking better this season. I want all of the black and yellow suited characters, but I'm going to wait to see how the preorders do before I commit to anything. The look of those suits being based on an extremely polarizing run combined with the stylized/animated look not being everyone's thing makes me feel like there's a chance I could get them on discount at some point.
>>11783595Definitely prefer the Born Again look, but the body looks good for other Punisher headswaps.
>>11785227Professor X has a portable toilet?
Many recent non-comic Marvel Legends have been selling out on Amazon recently. Whats going on? Is production run size being dropped? Or just Amazon tightening up and ordering less? Rivals Punisher, Moon Knight, Venom+Landshark and now TV Punisher all sold out during preorders
>>11785490rivals is incredibly popularso is the punisher, and normies do actually really bernthalthe TV punisher last year also sold out for quite a while
>>11785490Rivals, despite the dogshit designs, mediocre gameplay, and bot problem, is popular for whatever reason. Or the Chinese at least want you to think it is. Plus despite the vocal minority on 4chan, most people like MCU Punisher, and apparently the One More Kill episode is pretty good according to people who have watched it already. I plan on watching it today or tomorrow. I just think those properties are popular right now.

>>11785500You guys post some really weird responses to some incredibly minor comments. But you do you I guess.

>>11783058I'm whatever on Moon Girl, but the fact we STILL don't have a decent Peni figure or Viv figure is kinda insane.
>>11783595>>11785448Well I just watched the special and while it was fun, he barely even rocked this look until the ending. Also the sleeves and pants aren't even accurate which makes me wonder if it's based on concept art or something that Hasbro quickly put together with the seemingly reused pants from Hawkeye.I still ordered the figure to do other Punisher headswaps but if you take the head, torso, gloves, and swap the rest of it with the Born Again figure, then you might actually get a more accurate figure for this particular look.
>>11785375That's the only release they did of the whole wall and balcony, the movie version wasn't magnetic and only had the dumpster as you saidMaybe you're just misremembering playing with a magnetic movie Spidey with that playset and thought they came together
blokees save us
>>11785629I was close to pulling the trigger. Since I'd only be buying it for Luna and it'd entail the hassle of selling that Spidey or just throwing him in a box, if it was $50 I could justify it but $60 is a bridge too far. They're losing sales with their prices.

>>11785644i know youre tired of hearing it but... theyre lazy
>>11785644its because all the budget went into luna than spidey. Hasbro finally learning that sex sells.
>>11785620I thought their attempts at humanizing Frank were kind of laughable, but maybe that's just because I look at him more as the world's edgiest comedian rather than a serious or deep character. I did enjoy it once they finally got to the action though and he looked badass in the full outfit for the two minutes we got to see him in it. No more of this whiny 'I'm retired' bullshit for any of these characters though, I'm so sick of that shit.
>>11785703>humanizing Frank I thought Daredevil S2 did more than enough of it in a way that actually worked but yeah, those parts in the special were whatever until the action kicked in. >>11785822Definitely not. I honestly thought it was a symbiote or something like that.
>>11785644I strongly suspect there's an A squad and a D squad, behind the scenes. Figures they know they'll be selling for years get the A squad treatment, built from the ground up as high quality domestic figures (in before ">") and then the D squad gets repaints, reuses, and very simplistic articulation and sculpts.
>>11786090>mfw I see a white racist harassing a black US marine veteran
>>11785227Why are they speedrunning into the shittiest X-Men stories when they still have good ones they could do?
>>11786169Do you think they'll adapt Nazi Magneto?
>>11786169I kind of agree, but the reality is this: we're probably not going to get more than one more season after this one anyway because of all the shake-ups that happened with the creative team after S1. And, much like how their version of Genosha played out wildly different than the comics, I'm hoping they might be able to salvage some of the shittier modern stories. >>11786173Considering how hard the first season sucked his dick, I seriously doubt we get Magneto marching people into crematoriums. And if we do, they'll be very explicit about it not being the real Magneto and hopefully proffer a better explanation for Xorneto than Wanda warping him into a copy of her dad for no reason.
Got more diamond select figures.the entire F4 together, although incomplete, was a pretty sweet deal.
Thing being the oldest figure is unsurprisingly a brick but I really like how wide and weighty he is, as well as his arms being pretty much the same size from top to bottom.Headsculpt is a little on the cartoonish side but I dont hate it.>>11785375Man, I must've had this aswell. still got the balcony but dont remember much of the spidey either.seeing this pic did unlock a memory of attaching/removing the spider web though, very satisfying.
>>11785873>>11785963It's okay son, Hasbro thinks your money is as good as any other saps.
>>11786297MODS
Torch is cool, just missing the alternate chest piece.I just wish his stand plugged lower into his back to get a more convincing flying pose. dont know if its just me but his midtorso section looks a bit long.
I like everything about Sue except her face, just seems somewhat lifeless due to her lack of expression and her skin being rather pale
Reed is missing the most but still has all his cool accessories. I thought them being incomplete wouldn't bother me but it does for Sue and Reed so I might have to get them again.Other than that, might be one of the best headsculpts for a Reed figure and an actual great selection of accessories to show off his powers
>>11786271>>11786391Oh yeah, I forgot Reed can stretch. Because didn't do that shit at all in First Steps.
>>11786393didnt see the movie. I really like the F4 but I wasnt convinced by any of the trailers or promo material.I was hoping it'd atleast bring about a push for more F4 stuff in general, ideally get a trickle of some comic figures, but nothing.
>>11786393I fell asleep halfway through watching that movie on streaming.
>>11786397The best thing it has going for it is the art direction. The 60s retro future aesthetic and stuff like comics accurate Galactus are a treat to see, but there's no story to support that stuff, so it just ends up feeling like a pretty candy wrapper with nothing inside. I'm not even the biggest FF guy, but I like and respect them as Marvel's first family and I felt like they really didn't do any of them justice. I knew things were fucked when it got to the 45 minute mark and no Ben/Johnny hijinks had occurred.>>11786516I stopped actively watching about 2/3 of the way through and started messing with toys. I try not to do that, even if I'm not super into the thing I'm watching, but in that instance I one hundred percent blame it on the movie for me being too boring to hold my attention.
>>11786388I thought about getting this, your possibly onto something about his torso but I just finally decided that getting the Secret Wars retro carded or whatever that was, was a better price, especially when it got discounted a bit for Black Friday or something holiday related. I still have it in the package but mostly because I need to out together my display case. >>11786391>>11786397I did like the retro look of the movie but wish they had pushed out some comic figures. I'd like a cheap Mr. Fantastic body so I can put spider hands on the arms, the lab coat from Egghead and the unmasked RYV head (or one of the kabillion spare Spider heads) on it to make a science geek Parker intern.

>>11786169>Why are they speedrunning into the shittiest X-Men stories when they still have good ones they could do?Personal opinion / guess, MCU Disney has called dibs on all the famous storylines for the movies, so the tie-in cartoon series got what was left.
>>11786393imo that was the best marvel movie there's been in like 10+ years, but im also judging it on the basis of being a movie and not a marvel rollercoaster ride
>people in this thread didn't like New X-MenLet me guess, you plebs liked shit like the Twelve.
Looks like BBTS just got my 97 Archangel. Looking forward to him, though I think I'll wait a bit to think about if there's anything else I want to add before I ship him and few other things from my pile of loot.
>>11786678I love it, but I just assume everyone but me hated it because of the Xorn/Magneto shit. Which I honestly get, even if I sort of understand the point Morrison was trying to make about Magneto as a character.
>>11786687Yeah, I can understand people not liking the Magneto bit. I kinda saw the finale of season 1 as 97s version of Planet X. It was tamer than Magneto literally leading flatscans into concentration camps, but it still got the point across, his direct retaliation for what happened to Genosha. Season 1 already set the stage and even covered some New X-Men, Genosha being destroyed was basically E is for Extinction.
wtf did Shf Hulk sell out everywhere???
>>11786269>a better explanation for Xorneto than Wanda warping him into a copy of her dad for no reason. That's not even the explanation in the comics, as much as that era of X-Men kept trying to abuse Wanda as a plot device to explain whatever retarded thing was happening now.One story had a character speculate she was the reason Magneto was alive again afterwards, but it just turned out he never actually died in the first place.

I'm interested in getting some Marvel Legends but I'm not sure from what year they start being more competent. I've seen a lot of older ML stuff, and they genuinely look really bad like the moon knight figures but I've also seen some recent stuff that look really good like that ROM guy. So what year is the cut-off? or what body mold (male/female) is the cut-off?
>>11786972for example this >>11786765 really good to me
>>11786972Look at the pictures of the figures of the characters you want on the internet and decide.
>>11786977thats not what i asked. Im asking what year or body mold is cut-off when ML figs start looking good.
>>11786979That's not an easy answer. On my shelf right is the Ultimate Goblin BAF wave Black Cat, which is from like 2013 and has dog shit articulation but is still the best looking Black Cat they've done and looks great just standing and holding her whip, for example. They've done newer Black Cats, but shittier modern versions and one that just reuses the same body from 2013.But most other figures from that period weren't that good and/or have had massive upgrades since then. That's why it's more of a figure-by-figure thing.
>>11786979For some there's a middle period post Toybiz where Hasbro had not yet picked up the slack
>>11786972>>11786972>they genuinely look really bad like the moon knight figuresCould you elaborate on this? Do you mean the TV show figures?
>>11786972Due to reuse even some modern figures can be bad. Due to design decisions the ML team refuses to shelve like waist twists, some still look silly in many cases. One must examine in hand or at best non-render promo pics carefully. Like here's a figure from 2022. Some good figures were made before then. And some really bad ones made after.
>>11786988>>11786989>>11787016ok so year/date cut-off isn't usable so what newer body mold should I looking out for?>>11786993not the MCU one. i think that looks pretty ok. i mean these ones. they just kinda look...weird
>>11786979There isn't really an answer. It just depends on what you think is acceptable. Some people will think some bodies are still fine to use while others think they should be retired.
>>11787031Vulcan for males is the new "generic" 'good' body mold, although it still has deep faults. You can watch an Anthony's Customs review of Vulcan to see if it's ok from your perspective.
>>11787031>they just kinda look...weirdnigga do you know anything about moon knight? those are all just how he looked at various times, they're not random shit the toy company made up
>>11786648More like Fantastic Farts: First Shart
>>11787044im not talking about his designs as a character, fucker. im talking about how he looks as a toy. its looks bad. and cheap. and shit
>>11786648You're really upset about this huh? I didn't realize First Sharts had defenders this emotionally invested.
>>11787053well, that's a great point, but unfortunately you're literally the only man on planet earth who would consider starting an entire action figure collection based on moon knightif you have vague, nonspecific problems with every moon knight figure, then I might suggest spider-man instead
>>11787031Who's your character? Like, the one you want as you're coming into Marvel Legends?I've never been great at picking it out, but is that Bucky Cap buck on the left?

>>11785954Is that supposed to impress me?
>>11787059im only using moon knight as an example because i saw him in a review recently. thats literally it.>>11787062who I want specifically? theres not really a character im really into that i want an ML of but I did see some good-looking ML like ROM guy and that gameverse Psylocke and I wanted to kinda explore some more based on the more recent body molds. maybe even a new green goblin if there is one. Is there a wiki of ML that I can check releases of?
>>11787121There's an up to date checklist in the OP.
>>11787121>theres not really a character im really into that i want an MLthen you're asking nonspecific questions and have nonspecific issues with nonspecific figures, but you like other nonspecific figuresno one else really approaches collecting in that waythe responses will be like>yes I like x-men and gamerverse psylocke is goodbut also they'll probably redo that figure in different colors by the end of like next year, and you might end regretting randomly spending 70+ dollars on her as a random choice
>>11787121New juggernaut looks pretty good
>>11787133im not starting a collection. not right away at least. i want some good-looking figures, just because they look good. im really only asking about the time/body mold cut-off here.
>>11787166Uhhhh just check out recent releases, pre-orders, and what's on the shelves at your local.
>>11787109Aha! Mafex > FantascraftQuintessential Iron Man, right there.
Here's your Marvel Unlimited subscription figure for next year.
>>11787166they sometimes use shit from 10+ years ago to this day and there's great stuff from 10+ years that they never reused
>>11787031I mean those are "fine" but I always felt like Hasbro's capes for Moon Knight were just adequate enough to get the basic design across than anything groundbreaking. Now it just depends on the specific character you're looking for and maybe we could give you a recommendation from there.
>>11787166See >>11787197In Moon Knight's case they're using a mold that was fairly novel at the time (Sunfire body mold) but one that's running its course in recent times. There's no concrete "cutoff" until you have certain molds introduced and normalized like the Bucky Cap buck, or the recent Vulcan body. At that point, it's a matter of recognizing which body molds are being used.
>>11787231im not asking for a recommendation though. please read again what i said.>>11787234>At that point, it's a matter of recognizing which body molds are being usedyes that is exactly what I am asking about here >>11787031

Posting some Scott in honor of his Rivals debut.>>11786713 #Yeah, I agree. You sympathize with him a lot more for it after watching so many familiar faces bite it in front of him in Genosha. Also helps that there wasn't some late act twist with his identity and that we got see him do a legitimately great job as the leader of a superhero team prior to everything going to shit. I think the the real problem with the crematoriums shit is that it implies a total lack of self awareness, which is really hard to reconcile with the guy who got so fucked up after nearly killing Kitty Pryde and realizing he'd become everything he hates.>>11786763 #If I remember right, Wanda got blamed for it in a Marvel Universe handbook that came out in like 2010.
