>found exo force stealth hunter at a local shop>wings have 3 different ways of being placed>cockpit is a stud lower on the box/manual artWas this a common thing with Exo Force sets....? I had this as a kid and a few others but I don't really remember. Also what the fuck do I do with the wings now lol.

Any MCU guy here? Why do they call these minifigs "venomized-[character]"?Do kids these days not know what a symbiote is or something???
>>11783782>Why do they call these minifigs "venomized-[character]"?obviously that's the word you use, to not have to stop and explain:"well, you see, Venom is a made WITH a symbiote, and when the symbiote combines with a not-Spider-Man, you can't really use the name "Venom" because that's the name of the Spider-Man but with the symbiote. does that make sense? yeah, people just say "Venom" but it's not accurate to do that...."I think people recognize the symbiote is named Venom, and that thing is combining with the other characters, thus making them "Venom-ized"
Honestly should've gone the simpsons routr and just kept everyone yellow but making some brown when they need t
>>11783808>just kept everyone yellow but making some brown when they need toif Lego did that, they would admit that yellow="white guy"I "like" the "message" that "everybody is the same" yellow = everybody!but I'm not a brown-skinned-person, so my personal experience cannot know if that is the correct message being perceived

>>11783678Old Lego Star Wars was so fucking good. What the hell happened?
>>11783941Clone slop enjoyers happened
>>11783941same soul as old lego that didn't make them as much money. big builds that weren't many small bricks, tons of detail printed custom pieces that did more heavy lifting than tiles + stickers today. also I thought it was hilarious how regular generic Lego faces were used for unnamed characters, like that old waiter face in the OP image.
>>11783941Old sets were LEGO Star Wars, back of the box prominently featured alt builds as you were suppose to make just the main build snd instead create your own adventures in the SW universe. Around the mid 2000s Lego's design and brand image philosophy changed and over time they switched over to making STAR WARS Lego because older audiences are more willing to buy "Thing™ but Star Wars" then a Lego set.
>>11783941LEGO realized mousecucks don't actually have standards and will just buy anything, so the incentive to make an effort disappeared.
>>11783678All kino except Padme. For some reason she looked disgusting
castleGODS we won
>>11784123>$350>bricklink designer program>hideousnah we lost
>>11784123is that one of those Bricklink "sets"?of course anything with a million pieces is going to look good.those "sets" are amazing, but only for the one person's MOC. the fact that they make them into sets you can buy and build seems wrong. and they do things like "hey! it's one of those snake shields! that totally makes it worth the $900!"aren't they all made with 2nd-hand bricks, too? like, you're literally buying somebody's MOC made with their own bricks.
>>11783689depends on your outlooklando in 2003 directly led to the introduction of fleshies in 2004/5or you could argue that the introduction of the tcw style in 2008 led to the never ending chase to make the sets glorified model kits at triple the price
>>11783782Because they are Venomized. Symbiotes all have different colouring, Carnage is Red, Anti-venom is white with black lines, Scream is Yellow and Red etc, so any character that gets a symbiote that is black with white lines is Venomized.
>>11784135Yeah, I guess there are people who like to be able to simply buy a nice set but for me these sets have little appeal beyond the oh look how cool when scrolling through a flickr feed.
>>11784135Bro, are you just that grossly uninformed about what these are, or are you just being intentionally disingenuous?>those "sets" are amazing, but only for the one person's MOC. the fact that they make them into sets you can buy and build seems wrong. Its a voting process. The only sets that get made are ones that actually get voted for by fans. They don't just take a random MOC and sell it. There are literally thousands of sets all vying for the top 5 spots, which are the only ones that get made into sets.>and they do things like "hey! it's one of those snake shields! that totally makes it worth the $900!"No they don't. They can't use rare, expensive, or retired parts. In fact, all the minifigures in the BLD sets, you can buy the parts of LEGO's own website through the Pick-a-brick. Literally the whole point is that they only use common parts for these.>aren't they all made with 2nd-hand bricks, too? like, you're literally buying somebody's MOC made with their own bricks.No...again, where are you getting these ideas? You're conflating the BLD with the stupid Star Wars guys who buy and sell MOCs from each other. These are officially made Lego sets that are manufactured, bagged, and boxed specifically for these orders. The only difference between these and regular Lego sets is that these don't come with physical instructions.
>>11784135>>11784208Also, I find it hilarious that you try to make buying "used" parts as somehow bad to begin with, when there is a gigantic market for buying and selling used Lego. What the fuck do you think Bricklink even was for in the first place? Nevermind all the used shit that gets sold on eBay, stores like Bricks and Minifigs, etc.
Predictions for 2027 SW sets? Apparently all Smart Play sets are set to retire at the end of 2027. So yeah...I kinda expect normal sets of what we saw with smart play, I expect a new Luke X-Wing, maybe a two pack like they did with Rebuild the Galaxy of Luke's X-Wing and Vader TIE. I also expect a new version of Millenium Falcon but smaller and based on A New Hope (it's been what? 15 years since the last version based on ANH?). Perhaps we get a small Mos Eisley set too. I also expect atleast 2 or 3 more Mando movie sets, one of them better be Rotta the Hutt and arena fight. Oh, maybe we final get a Geonosis arena set? I also expect like 6-7 Starfighter movie sets, maybe some Ahsoka season 2 sets, atleast 2.Also, did anyone get the new X-Wing from Mando movie?
Good news! Smart Play is still selling abysmally on Amazon. (With exception of Vader’s TIE)Despite all the May 4th promotion, since my last post the only sale number which has bumped up is the Falcon to 200+.
>>11784224>Apparently all Smart Play sets are set to retire at the end of 2027Says who?
>>11784234Lego updated the retiring dates:https://www.brickfanatics.com/every-lego-set-retiring-this-year-and-beyond/#retiring-star-wars-setsAll march 2026 smart play star wars sets will retire on december 31st, 2027.Not great news for lego's half a billion dollars investment...
>Smart play retireslol no, they retire the Lego Mario smart figures and replace with minifigs + smart play functions. Nintendrones will keep it affloat and singlehandedly recoup all investments on smart play shit.
>>11784243Boss, they literally put the official retirement date for all smart brick shit for december 2027.Mario stuff retires this july and leakers said 2027 mario minifigs won't feature smart play.
>>11784224No one cares about Slop Wars. Not even mousecucks care anymore.
>>11784243If mousecucks couldn't float Smart Play, tendies definitely can't. Mousecucks are the goodest consoomers in the world, tendies aren't even close.
>>11783822As a black dude >>11783808 is pretty spot on. The vast majority of Lego people based on actors and real people had all been white up to that point so it makes sense that yellow = white/asian, so having the occasional black or brown dude be brown or orange coloured respectively makes sense. Also, yellow minifigs with black/african hair just kinda look weird man
>>11784259Where were you last thread when I was nailing our spammer to the wall. I know you remember the conversation. Castle is still better. Hope the kids are well!>>11779264>>11779245
>>11784280Sorry man, I'm the other black guy, but Castle is right below Bionicle and just above Space for me, they'd all be #1 but you can't cram them all into one tier unfortunately

>Dad can we get smartbricks!>No we have smartbricks at home.
>>11784289Oh wow this sure looks like a nice cheap army builder set!>its actually a gwp to $650 minas tirithSigh
>>11784241Is December 31st 2027 earlier than previously stated? Is it normal for sets to be produced for 2+ years?
>>11784291>Army BuildingNot with modern lego. The fact that something as fucking basic as pic related is 20 fucking dollars is insane. A pack of 4 minifigs and a lame little side build shouldn't be more than 10 bucks.
>>11784289Instead of that ugly humie castle, I would rather buy as many orc sets as I could for the same price but no, they just have to be retarded ... fucking greedy fags...
>>11784296That's not as bad as the "Iron Legion" or Hammer Drones set... Why are there fucking Iron Man figures there instead of second Hydra solider? Why call it a battlepack?
Had a long hiatus from Lego and missed out on everything essentially. Just saw a picture of these two and I am interested again. The red one reminds me of the Blazing Falcon from Exo-Force with the shoulder cannon and arm blades. Anyone know when will these two come out? Couldn't find a review of them. Are they sold separately or in a set?
>>11784282Not sure about the modern Lego Community, and not sure if they'd fit into the old one either, but you'd be surprised to see how many black and brown kids swarmed the lego isle only for Bionicle and to a lesser extent Hero Factory. I was one of those kids but I think I'm the only guy in my entire town who still had any interest in Lego after Constraction ended
>>11784307They're sold together, releasing August 1https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-twin-titan-mechs-71870
>>11784317Ninjago huh? I only remember the first time that theme came out which was when I decided to peace out of the toyline. I'm surprised it stayed this long and Exo-Force didn't, and that it has mechs now. Ah, I have to wait another 3 months at least but I am excited, these two look really cool and being able to swap parts is nice.
>>11784294The Obi Wan Starfighter released in 2022 I think and only now is retiring in July this year, popular sets will have a long production life though they might be hard to find in stores after the first year but easy online and on lego.com after the product enters retirement its hard to find and then your only option is scalpers.
Apparently Minas Tirith will be revealed in half an hour... anyone hyped?
>>11784289I'm actually a little underwhelmed by Grond. It's okay, but for a $750 GWP I expected Grond to be a little beefier, even if that makes it out of scale with minifigures. Not much bigger mind you, but it looks like he's on a diet. The orcs are nice.>>11784291Minas Tirith is $750!>>1178432420 minutes to go, surprised the official pic didn't leak early.
debating on getting a second AT TE before it retires..... praying that god is merciful and also puts the galactic marines in a magazine
>>11784342AT TE is retiring in July, I day go for it. I wish I had found it at a good price again but I was out of star wars for a while and only now got back. I don't think I will get it before retiring so I guess I'll just wait for another remake (albeit smaller and more expensive) whenever it will come out...
>>11784344don't wait for another one bro, it will 100% be a downgrade in every way possible, and even more expensive. Its way too good of a set to pass up
>>11784346I dunno man, I made a list of sets and there are too many sets out right now, I will try to focus on sets that are retiring in July so I might get it.Also, is it just me or this year is pretty bare bones? I mostly see Mando stuff and the more cool things are from previous years still on shelves.
>>11784313Bionicle went hard for everyone at that time. I was a senior in hs and got the green one with my graduation money and it sat on my desk all through college. It appealed to everyone apparently and it’s a shame what they’ve done with that cmf.

>>11784367Looks weird with those knights looking like giants on the wall in this scale. Only interested in some figs. Lego make a fucking battle pack.
>>11784369
>>11784320In a way, Exo-Force was a prototype for what became Ninjago. They're both narrative-driven themes with some Japanese influence featuring a sentai team who fight bad guys - but Ninjago is far more westernized and the premise is more flexible, which has helped prevent it from going stale despite running for 15 years so farAlso some Bionicle influence with kid-friendly lore and a serialized narrative

>>11783775There was a lot of funky revision shit going on with the Exo Force sets. You couldn't even build the alt-model on the back of Uplink's box because the Technic bars were changed from three to four studs long ones.
>>11784367>>11784387I'm a little blown-away that Lego gave the set FOUR knights! that's twice as many as they were likely to do. with a new unique helmet!oh, wait, $650? yeah probably should have had like, 20 of those guys lol>>11784402>>lotr is locked behind 18+ slop>The pain is realStar Trek, too.it's so crazy how Lego "targets" adult things with the high prices. but they must still sell or they wouldn't keep doing it.
>>11784409Make the big IP stuff for adults so kids get price-checked out of them. Adults will be willing to buy, but then the kids get funnelled into in house IPs like city and Ninjago for being more affordable. If Harry Potter and Star Wars weren't consistent legacy collabs that have nearly always been on shelves, they might've got locked behind completely 18+ sets as well
>>11784409>star trek tooThis summer the curse might be broken, we don't know the price yet but I'd be surprised if it's more than a $120 at max
>>11784411You know, when they first started this whole "adults welcome" and "18+" sets thing back in 2020, I was actually excited... now I fucking hate it so much and wish it never happened...In the end I think the AFOL community is to blame for this, social media made them unashamed of playing with lego which resulted in price hikes, if they were bullied and lego stayed a kids thing then we wouldn't have this problem now!
>>11784392No way this is real
>>11784361Everyone fucking loved Lewa, I get that they keep making references to Tahu (the red guy) but some of the most popular characters from the first year were this dude and Kopaka (the white one), its insane that they never get referenced

(still 1x1 to fit in a minifig hand)if they do the printed tile or new mold, they would need to include A LOT of them in order to create the um... problem with Tribbles

>>11784412there is no reason to have that TOS Bridge be more than $80. BTS set had 7 unique miniifgs and a bridge-sized build for that much. why Lego has to be so greedy (sarcasm, they can be as greedy as they can get away with)
>>11784307man I usually have a hard price limit of how much I'm willing to pay for lego sets (which mostly just amounts to not buying licensed/AFOL display junk) but there's a very real chance I'm gonna break it for this, these are way too sick.

>>11783678Bros help which one should I get?I wanted an X-Wing since forever but I'm conflicted about these 3. The 1999 one wasn't really on my radar until someone pointed out that it was the only X-Wing that had the correct hexagon nose shape for literal decades whereas the others didn't. I already appreciated the model before that but this was the tipping point for putting it in the competition. The bottom one also looks really good to me, but the biggest thing that stops me from immediately pulling the trigger is that the droid has to be placed sideways instead of facing forward. The middle one is a classic that you can't really go wrong with, but if I'm dead-honest it feels like it has too much red splattered over it.I haven't seen any of these in person so that's why I'm asking. Also the newest one came out in Jan 2012, the disney acquisition was in Okt 2012 so don't you call me a goddamn mousecuck.

>>11784521Looks fine to me desu.
>>11784435What the fuck are these prices? Those are NOT MSRP. The "sales" are a scam. They're just bringing them down to a little under their actual RRP. You can get way better deals elsewhere. Don't be retarded.
>>11784494The Rebuild the Galaxy one (TIE mashup) also has the hexagon nose. It's pretty good as well. But if your choise is purely between these three I'd either go with the top one if I just want a fun little toy full of SOVL(tm) or the bottow one for just looking spiffy as fuck.
>>11784539Are you stupid? The sale prices are great, check lego.com prices then compare to these. They are great deals.
>>11784494Dont rush, next year anh turns 50, there will probably be another fucking xwing to celebrate
>>11784585He apparently doesn't want to support Disney Star Wars, so he wont buy a Disney era set. Not my problem. I would have recommended just modding the new one into blue squadron as seen here. I'm aware I could make it better with non studded blue plates etc. just used what I had to mod it. I've posted it before, but I changed the greebling on the top of the rear fuselage for greater accuracy. Cheated a bit with the circular greebling and put a Tantive IV spare sticker on it.
Grond should have been the orc battlepack, I'd have paid fucking $40 USD for it if it also had 2 Gondor knights. What a hideous set too, so bland. 10 figures for $650 USD, Arwin has no dress printing, set has no orcs. Huge miss for me dawg.
>>11784605I forgot how the turbines on the NR xwing looked, if they were ST or OT style. But yeah especially after seeing it again I would just get that and change it red or whatever.
>>11784615They're exactly the same as OT as far as I know. None of that split engine turbine shit seen in ST which I despise.
how does /lg/ sort and store their lego pieces?i recently got my childhood collection back in my possession and have been digging through and roughly sorting them by piece type in ziplocks. not quite autistic wall of drawers tier, but also better than digging through a bucket like this
>>11784632Personally I just sort by colour and size. Yes it takes awhile to sift for the right part, but for me it's better than needing like 200+ tiny drawers.
>>11784632People who sort by part spend more time sorting.People who sort by color spend more time building.
>>11784632
>>11784605No, I just don't want to be called a mousecuck.I'll buy sets that were made after 2012 if I really like them, but I wasn't really feeling it with the newer X-Wings>>11784585>next yearIf that one ends up being phenomenal I'll just have 2 X-Wings in my collection then.>>11784541I immediately wrote that one off because I already own the perfect TIE fighter but I'll have another look at it.

they really should go back to older style power functions and make some bulk technic sets..more pneumatic pieces and so onunironically the ultimate play feature instead of those retarded smart bricks especially for adults

I'm planning to start building a Lego City train track with the Vintage Steam Train, and eventually power it. What are some retired sets (that don't cost a fortune) which you guys would recommend for making a simple Lego city? I'm thinking I'll get Icons Tudor Corner as the centerpiece, and maybe the City Central Train Station too. What else could I add? I don't plan to make roads by the way, I don't want this to be overkill. Just a simple train track on a big table with some buildings and vehicles.
Finally done with the gatehouse, well aesthetically anyway, Thinking about changing the roof but idk

>>11784459I remember asking my dad for this set in the lego store. He told me I'd get it in a few days. That sounded quite weird and convincing so I said ok. It was months before I saw my dad again. Never got the set.
>>11784707Would have been kino, and knowing how lego is of late, I imagine no.
>>11784892Maybe it caused an angela moment for your parents
>>11784632I have a very large collection. Not eceleb status but I’m probably 3rd largest lego collection in /lg/. My collections is mostly unsorted. I somewhat sort by part. But like its giant tubs with both animals and plant pieces together. Not that specific. Just enough to know which of my tubs to check if I need something. But it’s not a quick process.

>>11784904My parents divorced more than a decade prior. This was one of the rare times in a year that he'd take me somewhere. I think this was him taking his family shopping so two birds with one stone. I remember correcting his stupid wife about which Hobbit film she'd seen during the car ride home.
>>11784904I just watched the scene. Never heard of the show beforehand. The 2000s had so much soul and retardation that it makes me want to cry.
>>11784857You should dig some up and post them. The only thing here is official Lego images, sometimes with a 4percent Gaussian blur… mostly just Reddit reposts of instagram walls of text. >imagine a world where we got a legitimate leak on hereIf only.

A family member gave me these acrylic stands, they work well for the Home One fleet. The two mon calamari cruisers had a weight issue before as the stands connected to a 2x2 behind the front curved piece. These are rebrickable ships, aside from Home One, and are meant to be in that scale which calculates Home One to be roughly 3000 meters. I can put the pieces from their stands towards moc stands and stuff now.

>>11784632If you have a big collection you definitely need the drawers like in >>11784658 but they've become extremely expensive since covid (used to be $25 for the base one, now they're around $40 but they're made in the USA at least). If your collection is not big, then Ziploc bags of different sizes would be fine. For me its best to sort by piece type. All my 2x4 bricks in one pile, 1x1 in another, studs in another, technic types in another. I sort them by piece type and then mix in specific piece types that are visibly different for quick searching. Sorting by color is also fine but only if you have a small collection.
I gotta get some more bionicle and technic pieces and actually build something with them, odd parts aplenty or other shit to do
>>11784648>By colorYou mean they spend more time trying to find the specific piece they need because it's buried in the same color pile.
>>11785258maybe it will be something to do when driving or something, plenty of bricks to get and I still need to finish two bricklink orders at least
>>11785093This guy definitely comes off as a douchebag. Same with that tojo chink looking faggot. Also they are spamming ads for some new online shipping shit trying to compete with eBay and MnR is in it. You don't see his face but I had to double take. What a shill faggot that got everything handed to him by rich parents.
>New and complete set>box opened but bags are sealed>NO MINIFIGURESThe secondary market has been flooded by listings like this and it's genuinely pissing me off. So many people just buying sets, scavanging the figs like the goblins that they are and then trying to sell the rest. Minifiggers continue to be a blight upon the hobby.

>>11785206Sex with hippie girls.
>>11785265When I see something like that I just end up buying the set brand new. For me its the people who sell the set without the box so the shipping and overall price is way cheaper with just the sealed bags + book/stickers in a smaller box.

>>11785345I can fairly confidently say that it's not going to top the older bounty hunter pursuit set.
>>11785348I still have it (remember using my birthday money to buy it, picking it off the store shelf)I think there is a fair chance to make it better, since the old one was so limited to old lego pieces. And Zam's Koro-2 Airspeeder's falling apart feauture made the wings a bit flimsy, I hope the new model will be more stable. But the old one was 100% printed, not a single sticker. I really hope that's 1 thing they don't change. If there is one set that doesn't need stickers for details its this one.
Have to order something from bricklink, eventually
>>11785324“Sig Greebling”Like sig fig greebling?!Get it?!Get it!???!!Lmfao. Do you mousecucks honestly?

>>11785093There are a lot of Lgbtq+ people in the LEGO community and some very famous reviewers had the bravery to come out of the closet halfway during their YouTube career. Have some respect!
>>11785324I wonder how much it will cost. I guess this is one ANH set for the Anniversary and perhaps a new Falcon? The dark falcon retires this december and I still don't know IF I should get it. Like what if lego does a ANH Falcon in 2027, and I get Dark Falcon too, then I will have 2 falcons and I'm pretty autistic on that side... on having "duplicates"

>>11784294>>11784241Maybe the smatbrick has a shelf life and they don't want to risk having dead ones on sale, especially as they don't seem to be selling.
>>11785404This makes no sense because it means the smart brick become useless after 2 years and the whole recharging thing was bullshit. Like even for a toy it should be durable including for the sake of scarcity of materials used.
>>11785404No anon, its just that the smart brick is a catastrophical financial flop. Everyone tried to warn them btw
>>11785420I find it funny they first gave smart bricks sets to review to NON lego influencers and only now they give them to LAN and lego literally told them to not be "harsh" on it, lol. No wonder Bricksie and Duckbricks left LAN... also Jeansversion is such a shill lel
