Cheers edition
>>11795718First for da orkz
>>11795718>"Hey sister, what brings you to a den of vice and sin like this? Not planning on punishing us for our sins, are ya?">"Nope- came here for some of the good stuff! "Know thy foe" and all that, heh heh. Buy me a drink and I'll show you some "holy passion" if you catch my drift!"
>>11795718Really love this photo, anon got skills.
>>11795718you could at least keep the general updated with the new releases or did you just make this so you can glaze your own photos?
>>11799782>"Brothers, I have a bad feeling about this..."
New SM2 dudes and some more dudes from 40k.Beeeg glove sighting.
>>11800003Brother Genericus from Ultramarines 2nd company, reserve squad.
>>11800008His superior.
VULKAN LIVES! We will totally find our dad if we collect all his memorabilia!Featuring some SFX effects, that's first for Warhammer Joytoy.
>>11800013not first, IW Tyrant Terminators had rockets, forgot about these.
Price creep hitting us hard.Apparently JT also makes them in small batches, 5-10k sets for initial run, with possibility for additional reruns if they sell well. If.They also rush new releases from reveal/pre-order to shipping in like 2-3 weeks now, much faster turnaround, all thanks to new factory. And it tracks, because people already received their Ashuraddons/Dark Emissaries/etc week ago. They were revealed around April 22. Warsmiths already inbound.Quite a pace.
>so much want>so little spaceI..I'll make it tho
>>11800013So is this guy a primaris now since its a 40k line figure and not HH?
>>11800285Not explicitly stated, but likely yes, he is wearing Mark X after all, which probably means he crossed the Rubicon. He was always a 40k era marine.
>>11800304I thought the armor he wore on the first mini looks better than the new one.
>>11800315Many such cases, tho I'd argue He'stan is one of the better ones.
>>11796814>Buy me a drink and I'll show you some "holy passion" if you catch my drift!Straight to jail.
>>11800013Man, i've never been really one who'd want to modify/paint my joytoys, but i'd love to slather some oil paints over that dragonscale cloak
What is the thing on his back? I thought it was a gripper but on all the pictures it's closed so I don't think it is.
>>11800511>His kitted-out suit of Terminator armour even features a servo arm for vehicle repairshttps://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/pg6rmzvk/reduce-the-mightiest-fortifications-to-piles-of-rubble-with-these-iron-warriors-warsmiths/
>>11800609Thank you, so it really is just a sad looking thing without any function.
Word Bearers fag once again posting to seethe.(I assume we'll get our HH stuff eventually but damn) I need ashen circle and our legion praetor.
>>11800658You already got a Terminator, don't get greedy.
>the Lion at 85 eurobucks on cooltoyshere we go again
>>11800658The WB praetor is such a banger design, both standard and Tataros.
Is Cato Sicarius of all people their 'break glass in case of emergency' figure? At this point it's just weird he hasn't been released in some form yet.
Space Hulk corridors.
Does anyone know how easy it is to take apart he new Intercessors? I'd like to use the Dark Angel one to beef up Lazarus' height but I don't want to break him.
>>11804455>STAIRS
>>11804450There many weird cases like that. Fact that we still don't have Kharn is puzzling, considering we already got a shitton of Berserkers and Angron in a fucking demon form. Guess the main reason is that tabletop Kharn is somewhat outdated, so GW probably doesn't want JT to commit to the older one? From what I heard, main culprit is always GW, they are just weird like that. It had impression that Joytoy have many projects on hold, only waiting for GWs final approval. I also like that every model going through GW final inspection means that GW also blindly approves many small mistakes JT commits.
>>11801439is that a lot? too little?sounds like a fine price to me. I member paying like 110 for bobby G back when he came out
>>11805172totally fine and on its way
Salamander-anon here, had some spare time, went to my LCS and did a tiny bit of detailing to my IW Sarn't
>>11805505My favorite local dive is directly across the street from the Warhammer store, so I got a photo there, as well.
>>11805509How did you get confident enough to take your toys to a bar and take pictures of it? And now I want flower marines.
>>11805521I just did it, dude. It doesn't take any confidence at all, I had him and my bag of paints with me and the bar was on the way back to my car.
>>11805527didn't people look?
>>11805533Nah. The bar is all drunk boomers, and I'm a regular there. One of them asked me what I was doing, out of curiosity, because they already knew that I'm one of the dorks from across the street.
>>11805644and what did you tell them?
>>11805509based
>>11805658"Yeah nah I did a bit of painting across the street there, just wanted to grab a few for the road on my way home."It's that easy.>>11805990Appreciate it, Anon
>>11804618SPACE HULK CORRIDORS. I DO NOT GET YOUR REFERENCE, FAGGOT ANGRY MARINE. DO NOT MAKE ME REPEAT MYSELF.
>>11807542old /tg/ 1d4chan meme
>>11807580
Another big announcement today.Updated Mk2s.
Now that's some fucking impressive axe.
Now that we're getting dudes from Saturnine box, guess it means Saturnine Terminators and Dreads are right around the corner?
>>11807767guess so and custom models are already here
>>11805521>>11805533Because he is a chinese shill paid by the CIA to do a photo OP to pretend the failing toyline is getting sales.
>>11808051In burger king coupons, don't forget that bit!
Iron Warriors catching up to Ultramarines.
>>11808051很明顯,我很像中國人。吃藥吧,瘋子。
>>11808051>>11808119对于这个错误,我深表歉意——我使用的是一部由习近平亲自赠予我的手机。
Anyway, schizoposting aside, I got a couple photos of my custom BT figure the other night.
>>11808145
>>11808145>>11808146looks amazing anon!I found a sealed McFarlane BT a couple years ago and it's still been one of my grails (that and the helmet from the collector's edition). Really wish any chinese company like joytoy or threezero would just make a new one, but I guess they can't get the IP rights now.
>>11800029>Price creep hitting us hard.the scale creep was worse
>>11807736>>11807737>>11807759damn I feel vindicated going all in on IW now
>>11808969Σίδηρος μέσα, σίδηρος χωρίς
>>11809295Nice custom anon!Reminds me I need to finish the modelling on my McFarlane Marine and paint him up as one of /mydudes/. It's a shame McFarlane is genuinely incapable of comprehending scale honestly; the Marines and similarly large lads are decent enough figures and work quite well at 1:12 but anything meant to be human sized (Sisters notably) is too big even for 1:10.On the plus side if another company gets the license at some point and puts out actual 1:12 Guard or Sororitas or whatever the McFarlane stuff should scale OK with them.
The Mk2s are very nice and better than the IW Mk. 3s, but please joytoy, I am begging you, spare a thought for anyone who isn't a Marine. I bought all the Necrons, Orks, multiple Tyranids and even two Tau Battlesuits, even a single Eldar to be victimised by the power armour types would be OK at this point.
Did they fix the paint details on the shoulder pads of the new Intercessor Blood Angels and Dark Angels ? I saw a review where they still had the wrong paint apps of the promotional images.
I am not knowledgeable on Warhammer, but are all the space marines all so highly decorated or it just the Joytoy line only making top brass? I would assume in a fleet of space marines 95% would be rank and file copy paste smurfs with some slight armor alterations with one or two high ranking officers being blinged out, but the line makes me think that everyone has some big jet booster, gold trim, halo, shoulder shield, purity seals all over, winged helm, standard, or a niche over the top weapon. Not saying it's bad, was just curious if it's actually one way over another.
>>11801439mogged hard and I didn't even open itnow give me Gabriel Angelos
>>11819073During the Great Crusade/Horus Heresy era (30K) grunts had less decorations, in 40K everything is more gothic
>>11819073>big jet boosterStandard equipment on some grunt squads that need mobility to rip and tear>gold trimA company is comprised of smaller squads, and since they all wear similar colored armor (I.e. blue for Ultramarines), the trim delineates squads - gold trim is for second company, white trim is for another, green, etc. To save on mass-production, the trim for a given chapter is often standard, even though this can cause canonical issues.>haloForce field for elites and veterans, not usually found on grunts>shoulder shield, purity seals all over, winged helmLike medals of honor, usually for veterans, but even some grunts who've been in more than one mission can be rewarded for performance without rising in rank>standardUsually a specialist, but standard-bearer are common in real-world armies for morale>niche over the top weaponAll 40K weapons are over-the-top, but grunt squads like Desolators carry big-ass rocket launchers, Eradicators carry flame-throwers bigger than they are tall, really the rule of cool does not give a shit about your rank, just depends on your squad's tactical purpose.TLDR Most of the figures that come in 3-or-4 packs have pretty plain armor with a squad sergeant who's a little flashier, but there are tons of non-gaudy grunts available.
>>11819073>>11819543Here's the grunt shelf I finally feel caught up on. You can see that despite some variations in armor type, they are all fairly unadorned with fancy shit aside from the captain in the direct center, who is fancy as fuck. Of course, Joytoy can sell fancy as fuck bois for more than grunts, so they absolutely do push elites and famous heroes too.
>>11819073Here >>11807737 >>11807738 >>11807744 >>11807746 >>11807751 >>11807756 >>11807759Look at these figures as an example of basic bitch infantry. Marines like these make up the the bulk of the fighting force, both during Heresy and 40k era. People usually refer to them as "Army builders", for obvious reasons. Usually they are the cheapest offerings. These are specifically updated Mk2 pattern armor, "Crusade armor", which were widely used during 30k era, especially during the beginning of Great Crusade, hence the nickname. There are many other armor patterns that follow the same formula, they just look different. Joytoy usually releases like ~1-5 variations of the regular dude, with some slight differences in looks, loadouts and roles. Then we go to elites, characters and other big shots, and depending on GW, there are plenty of them, so it does make for the impression that walking reliquaries outnumber your grunts. It's like in Star Wars, Hasbro releases 1 Clone in Phase 2 armor (not really) and then shits outs like 20 names glup shitto Jedi's. Obviously, Jedi's were not outnumbering clones.
>>11800008Is their sm2 figure still taller than the others?
>>11820493Nope, too much backlash and drama, so they scaled them down drastically. They're now v3.5-3.7 body, depending on who you ask (shits confusing)In this screenshot from JT stream, you can see them compared to Secret Level Titus, who is considered v3.5 body. SM2 Calgar at top row is v4.0 body scale.
>>11820615pictures from a very helpful fellow who makes tons of comparison shots
>>11820615>>11820616sweet thanks, imma grab that ultramarine assault with thunderhammer
They're posting night lords on their pages now
>>11820769Somewhat unfortunate paint jobs, not unusual for Joytoy lately though. At least we got shoulderpad upgrades this time.
Jago Sevatarion.Best First Captain. The only Night Lord worth a damn.
And your mandatory terminator elite. Atram... I mean, Contekar.
Even by NL standards, these dudes were real pieces of work. Best of the worst Nostramo had to offer.
Man I wanted Night Lords so much and now that they are here I don't feel them at all. Even Sevatar doesn't fill me with a need to buy. Also maybe this is just my pc screen but did they use flat black for the armor?
Sev and Atramentar look decent more or less, the rest though... hopefully Nemesis Claw will be better but eh
Also a notorious team killers.
>Konrad Curze soonsort of want
And your corporate mandated repaint of the same ol' Mk3 dude.
>>11820802They sure did chose a darker blue for them. Feels like they were basing whole line on a latest iteration of NL Command Squad paintjob from GW.
>>11820787
>>11820788No flight stand like Lemartes got? Weird.
I like the praetors at leastThe flayed skin looks eh on most of these though.
>>11820955Weird indeed, they really seem to be penny pinching lately, not surpising, given the worldwide situation. I think one of the few other jumper figues that did not come with stand were, funnily enough, another set of Mk4 dudes, Angel's Tears squad.
>>11820955>>11821543Once again a big W for the IW
Post your stinky boys
>>11820811I like left more than just another smurf blue.
>>11820813is that orange stuff supposed to be flayed human skin?
>>11821994no one likes smurf blue, not even Robobob
>>11821553Just realized the Iron Warriors got Jump Pack Marines before the Night Lords. Really can't have shit on Nostramo, huh?Hopefully they get recolors at least.
It seems literally everyone is seething over the NL announcement. The most anticipated release turned out to be the most disappointing. I wonder if it will pressure JT to put it on hold until they can do some improvements. They did recall the WS praetor batch after the backlash and that was a lot less significant than this.
why don't you like the Night Lords figures?
>>11824189I'm a loyal servant of the Imperium of Man
>>11824189Halfassed paintjobs mostly.
>>11824856yeah Joytoy paint jobs have got pretty basic and half-assed.
Commissar Yarrick when
>>11825542you'll get astartes and you'll like it.
>>11825542I would unironically kill for an OG Yarrick Joytoy
also Eisenhorn w/retinue because reasons
>>11827332>crab pincers for no reason Kino
>>11827459It was a youth phase
I want this re-issued figure but it's like three years old, will it be comically small compared to modern figures or do they embiggen them?
