Is there really this much interest in just a 3PG for Transformers? Asking sincerely.

I think we need something like a 3PG but personally could give two fucks about TFs. I appreciate that some people do, but prefer something like the KO Block Lego 3P Brick thread where it's not tied to say the Spy manga bricks or Simpson bricks or other 3P brick IPs (or generic IP looking brick crap).
>>
>>11803258
There was a /pbg/ plastic brick general or something for non-lego bricks including KOs but it died. Maybe u can try restarting it.

Anyway what you need to understand first is that "3rd Party" refers to any maker that's not the IP rights holder. So technically Hasbro, Lego etc are also 3rd parties when making products for Star Wars, Marvel whatever they don't own. So if you just make an "Everything 3P" thread it's going to include every other toyline, which doesn't make sense for a thread.

What makes TFs special is that Hasbro's 3rd Party license agreement very likely has some non-compete clause that doesn't allow them to make transformable action figures, which defeats the point of TF toys for many. This led to Transformers having a large market of *unlicensed* 3rd parties making TFs that can transform, hence a special thread to keep track of them.

Used to be hard-core UT shill, but these new MM renders are making me reconsider. The shoulders are a bit too low and the air filters too high which results in a weird gap, but other than that it looks a lot better than UT. Might get both just for UT Jetfire though.

You can remove the tires to get a minor twist, but that really doesn't count. It seems intentional that they blocked the swivel.
>>
>>11808303
The thigh and knee joints being on different elevations for both legs is probably one of the craziest fucking things I've ever seen on a combiner.
This is all FT can ever do: make bricks that articulate for nothing; and now there's six of them making a bigger fucking brick with some of wonkiest articulation ever done within the 3P space.

Got my G-creation MTST-01B today
It's true what they said, he can't stand without his stand (and even then it's tough because of no ratchets), because this is the discount version without the die cast in the legs, buuut on the other hand, it DID come with batteries for the lights, despite saying it wouldn't, and transformation was a lot easier than I expected.
I'm glad I waited for TFsafari's sale, I've been wanting this guy for ages. and it's nice to finally get a movie grimlock that has t-rex legs, not 'just pretend they're not humanoid robot legs' legs.

Granted the robot mode legs in this are sitting WAY too high, using the hip skirts to hide it, but if you put a leg forward or back, you'd immediately notice.

I really hope the quality of the final release matches the designer’s ego, he’s been borderline arrogant for someone releasing their first mass produced product. It’s easy to imagine this whole project going sideways once it hits the factory but I wish him the best.

I just can’t help getting flashbacks to the non-DX9 DOTM Hot Rod (TFEVO Hot Fire), which turned out to be a disaster. I’m even more skeptical because the designer was delusional enough to think he could manufacture this Bumblebee figure in his garage, before changing course to an overseas factory.

I'm surprised he doesn't realize that a finished render is barely step zero for making a toy, and in 3P that means several years before release even for experienced brands with established factories and supply chains. Even a finished transforming 3D print still means jack shit when injection molds require tolerances and limitations that 3D prints don't have to take into account. Also balljoint sockets straight ontop of tampographed carbon fiber lmao.

I do think he’s been testing his design with 3D prints along the way, but didn’t want to reveal it until its final. But yeah, there are so many things that can still go wrong. I remember several stories of companies allegedly being sabotaged by factories intentionally bugging up production (I think the XTB guy was said to be behind it?)
>>
>>11816169
Congrats. Big 3P Bay figs have a tendency to have weak legs sadly. Just got my T-10 Starscream and while he does have ratchets and can stand on his own, the balance isn't all that apt if he's on chicken legs mode.

Slow week ending with big (but not really?) Chinese drama between Mangmotion and XTB
>Mangmotion released a review for XTB Slugslinger with a lot of criticism including how the weak ankles cause it to flop easily
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV19oER6tEaj/

>"Crab boss", XTB's boss who personally designed this Slugslinger released a retaliatory video, showing how his magic-touch can cause MP44 to flop but not this Slugslinger so his design is ackshually superior to Takara.
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1CbEr6uEyD/

Cue Mangmotion posting their wechat conversation
https://weibo.com/1735145277/R3KVczU7v
In it they throw accusations around including
>Mangmotion is unprofessional by not consulting XTB when he encounters issues
>Blades was fine and it was Mang's "skill issue"
>Mangmotion insists he transformed Blades correctly and the rotors were a design issue
>Mangmotion throws out a line about XTB owing their designers money, which Crab deflects as projection.
>Back and forth about whether Slugslinger's stability again, then circled back again to Blades' rotors
>Crab does a bit of gaslighting, insisting the video wasn't aimed at Mang, though Mang isn't buying it.
One thing Mangmotion was pissed about is that the video title originally implied that XTB didn't pay Mangmotion enough, when he didn't accept any payment from XTB in the first place. It seems Crab Boss relented on that point because he changed the title to only imply that Mang is bad his job.
Overall nothing too spicy we didn't already know about (XTB sucks, Mang gets critical when he isn't paid)

Not really. At most you get the guys that but 3 sets for all modes, but the cope has always been that it's totally fine that FT compromised their Devastator for no reason so long as combined mode was good. To be fair these designs are 100X more complicated than any piece of G1 art besides maybe OX and Floro Dery concepts.
