HELL YEAH TOYS

Are Four Horsemen back on DC? These feel very DCUC.
>>
>>11803200
Mattel is actually really dumb for making the core figures in DC also 6.5in rather than 5.5in like MOTU. Because lots of people are going to just buy the core versions of most of the less important characters for cheap as "good enough" and leave the collector versions of those characters to rot on shelves at $27+
>>
>>11803279
I agree. The kids line should’ve been similar to motu movie core figures.
>>
>>11803279
>>11803287
They're just mimicking the formula from WWE, between Main Event (basics) and Elite (collector) figures. Between scaling and being able to swap heads and certain other parts, that's kind of why they exist this way.
>>
>>11803323
They're going to lose money on it though, which seems...counterproductive to a corporation.
>>
>>11803279
I think the idea is to do the more like WWE method of it, where the kids line on the adult side of things IS supplemental, But on the other hand I honestly can't see them making that obscure of characters in the kids line, even the spinmaster stuff didn't go very deep. Like I'm thinking like Plastic Man tops is the most obscure they'll probably do (I know he's not really that obscure now but most casual fans still really don't even know him)
>>
>>11803328
Adding back on because I forgot This point actually, but I think again they're expecting fans to double dip because people will buy a figure and that eventually want to upgrade, because a lot of adult collectors tend to be like that where they will buy something and then a year later when the newer better one comes out they'll still buy that, just in this case it's a kid's toy version
>>
>>11803328
Wouldn't the kids line eventually run out of steam? Or are they about to get very creative with Legends of the Dark Knight II: Boomerang Battler Batman?
>>
I guess I'm confused on this motu idea I see here. What is it you guys mean? Do you want origins styled figures or do you just prefer the actual dimensions of the size? The female figures in origins (there aren't many female characters) all share the same exact body. Which after a good six years becomes pretty friggin boring.
Would anyone be happy with Phantom Lady on the teelas body?

>>11803398
Core on the left
>>
>>11803398
I think they just would prefer the kids line be less similar to the eventually collectors stuff as to lessen the potential cannibalization "Oh, I don't really need an expensive Joker this $13 one is pretty good and works with that $28 batman I just got" vs "Oh, this Joker is from an entirely different scale, guess I'll have to get the $28 dollar one to work with the Batman I just got"
When if I'm being honest, the latter cannibalizes more from what I've seen with MOTU because it means if you get invested in one line you're pretty damn locked in. I collect the movie core stuff, and realistically I won't get any movie origins or chronicles.
>>
>>11803326
I think the idea is almost a kid to "adult" collector pipeline.
>>
>>11802963
Faust by Todd would be great, these kind of characters are 200% his thing.

>>11803476
Todd is making a Witchblade and Savage Dragon for his Image series. I've been saying for months that public domain characters would be really interesting. I'd prefer something accurate to the source material, but a McFarlane Toys figure of Fantomah with vibes from the old Blair Witch figure would be sick.

Branching out to more independent characters like Hellboy is a good move, too. Maybe Cerberus, Shi, or Aphrodite IX.

The wait is almost over bros!!!

>A new era of DC Comics figures begins this coming Sunday (5/31) with the launch of Mattel's new line of DC Core products which will be available online and at physical stores.
>We will see the first round of 6.5" figures which should include the likes of Robin, Joker, Batman, and Flash. We will see deluxe figures along with a new line of Bat-Link vehicles that include a new Batmobile and Robin with Cycle. We will see various 12" figures and more.
>These are all part of the first stage of Mattel's recapture of the DC toy license from Spin Master with the more kids oriented stuff that is going to be priced around $12.99 each for a single 6.5" core figure.
>Then in the beginning of 2027 Mattel will be launching their new "Collector" 6.5" oriented figures after McFarlane Toys ends their run with the license this year.
>You will find these new Mattel DC Core figures at physical stores like Walmart and Target. Some Targets have already started getting them in stock with a sale date of this Sunday.
>>
Just a few more hours bros!!!

Insider here.
Total Mattel recall.
Shipments sent to major retailers were found to contain an insect classified as hazardous to the North American ecosystem.
If you see any DC Mattel figures on shelves tomorrow, immediately bring them to the customer service desk for incineration.
That is all.

Yeah I was fast enough to snag a core Flash funnily enough. Hopefully they stock more online as ok the site's bad about keeping cheaper figures available
>>

Batmobile up now too
>>
>Batman
>Robin
>Joker
>Flash

All sold out in minutes online. Batmobile is currently the only thing still available. Pretty crazy for a drop in the middle of the night. I’m sure there will be more online in the morning.

Roughly $95 before taxes for all 4 single carded releases and the Batmobile together. Is that a good deal to you? Shout out in the comments below.
>>
>>11803713
Scalpers and speculators. Kids aren't getting these. You're not bringing in new collectors.
>>
>>11803786
Now they are trying to sell the kids line to collectors. Because they know kids don't buy action figures.
>>
>>11803811
>>11803812
Lol fuck off tard
>>
>>11803713
Why do they put up preorders in the middle of the night? At least Todd and hasbro put them up when normal humans are awake
>>
>>11803818
Target is really bad about listing toy pre orders. Shit goes up at random times and sells out instantly. Even if the figure is plentiful when it actually releases. I wouldn't put too much stock in Targets system tbqh. Just go to the store or calling and ask with the DPCI.
>>
>>11803818
For all the "kids" to buy
>>
>>11803743
Have you tried to preorder a McFarlane recently?
>>
>>11803200
do these toys have ab crunch or any abdominal articulation?

what is it with western toy manufacturers wanting all their toys looking like a bunch of stiff robots from the 1970s?
>>
>>11803833
Swivel at the waist. These are designed for play not gay “action figure photography”
>>
>>11803833
It's the cheap kids line. How many times does this have to be said? They're like $12. The collectors line, with normal articulation, is yet to be revealed.
>>
>>11803835
that makes total sense for the playing toy to have less playability
>>
>>11803836
It’s trolling at this point and should be reported. Everyone has had more than enough time to get informed and bitching that they don’t like it because it’s not made for them should be considered off topic.
>>
>>11803837
Motu would like a word with you retard
>>
>>11803836
the people purchasing this line, both kids and adults, deserve abdominal articulation. you sound like todd does when he justifies his sausage fest releases trying to argue that boys dont buy female characters.
>>11803838
go to /r/eddit
>>11803840
motu is dogshit. thank you from proving my point.
>>
Just repot and ignore him
>>
>>11803846
It's really weird how ass mad you are at the fact that complete strangers who you'll never meet buy these toys. No one is forcing you to buy them. In fact, something that fits what you describe is on its way. Probably to be shown off in 2 months at SDCC. Stop acting like a baby about a cheaper toy line not having enough articulation for you. Just wait for the collectors line and stop whin8ng like a bitch.
>>
Is there such thing as a good Cass Cain figure? They all seem to have wildly wrong proportions
>>
>>11803852
Mcfarlane is unfortunately the best
>>
>>11803854
I feared this might be the case, thank you
Maybe one day we'll get an on-model Cassie...

Reuse of tooling did this sadly. No one feels like making a new mold. If Todd had made her back at the start of the line maybe it would've been possible. But now she's just Babs reuse.

No. Anything that is a newer preorder that isn't a 2 pack for 80 bucks sells out day 1, even if it's the thousandth reuse of a bad mold of an obscure comic like Deadman Batman. You clearly don't even follow this line.

Only if someone has brain damage, and I'm the guy who pays hundreds of dollars to Chinese smugglers for Sandman, Zatanna, and Starman. I paid premo for those because this shit always happens >>11803924 every single fucking time.

Why is Kalibak wearing a fallopian tubes shirt? Is that something from the comics I've never noticed until now?
I'd still pick him and some Parademons up if Todd released a decent Darkseid, but alas, the line ends with Batman spam.

I met Todd at a midnight game release. I can't remember which game it was, Kingdom of Avalon or something I think, I was there to pick up Resident Evil Revelations before I took a flight, and he was there signing stuff since he did the art for the game. He was kinda weird tbqh. I had a much better time meeting Greg Capullo and Stan Lee at comic con.
