What is your favorite retro Star Wars LEGO set?
>>11808576The one that exposed the Mormon Mafia controlled police state we live in.
>>11808576Soon
>>11808581>>11808576You need to die.
>>11808580fpbp
>>11808576Got a Sith Infiltrator for my birthday. Foldable wings and a removeable escape pod. I also gave it wheels
>>11808576hmm... don't remember han having a spear. Also, i guess in this version he lets the black guy get eaten by the sarlack. From the box art it seems like they are leaving and i don't see him anywhere
the landspeeder cause it's the only one I had as a kidwell I guess that's not true but the other one was just that little box that had qui gon, darth maul and some random bullshit build to justify charging full price for what was really just two minifigshonestly my favorite outer space lego sets as a kid were the one or two insectoids ones though, don't remember what all was in them just that they looked cool and had some fun pieces like radar dishes and a hexagonal dome in transparent green
>>11808576too many to list desu. I used to be obsessed with all the sets prior to 2007 because they looked so cool and I missed them because I started collecting them in 08 or 09. I guess these were a few off the top of my head that I always wanted
>>11808576

>>11808576>retrodefine
I don't even remember what the first sets were or why I didn't massively collect them considering I was a huge lego builder when I was a kid and loved Star Wars. But I did get the original Ep 1 Vulture Droid when it came out and that was really cool. But to answer OP's question, my grandmother got me the Mos Espa Podrace set and that was my go to fun for that entire summer.
>>11811520
>>11809500OP meant to say "vintage".
>>11809483this one yup. I miss dropping that magnet crate off. Also the only time Jango got that face print where he has that flightcraft headband on, that was the real miss with the recent UCS.
>>11811526Define vintage
>>11808576Ye olde snowspeeder.
looking back, I'm amazed at how many Battlezone 2 vehicles I managed to alt-build out of this thing...
>>11809452Got 7256 for my 6th birthday, but never really knew what became of it. I had a stray sticker from the Vulture Droid that I found under my bed but that was it. I went to my childhood home like 4 years ago and found the Anakin figure (without legs) buried in what used to be my mom’s garden. Makes me wonder what crazy adventures I was having with that figure when it got lost there.
>>11808576>favorite>retro >Star Wars >LEGO>setNone of these
>>11809313My kindergarten treasure chest had that as a prize I was going to grab it but the kid in front of me in the line got it before I could
>>11812179>literal aislop
all that remains
>>11812362The funny thing is how even a low end AI knows that to make "star wars" you just assemble a blocky pile of grey bullshit and slap an "army buildable" figure in there.
>>11808576>>11808721Man. How do these look so ancient? Like Blacktron II tier. But at the time they looked so modern and different than older sets.
>>11812576Literally at the crossroads of design principlesThe very next wave would see curved slopes become an established fixture
i reckon i'm gonna get this done in some shape or form
>>11811520This was my favorite toy as a kid, I took it wherever I went, that until I lost my jacket with my legos on the pocket
>>11808576I dunno if you could consider it retro, but the Imperial Dropship #7667 was my first set I got as a wee lad and always my favorite. I played with mine sooo much, and it's probably my standard I use to compare smaller/cheaper sets to this day. I miss the little thing...
i was obsessed with the AT-AT as a kid but most things depicting it were fuckhueg and therefore too expensive, so i was really attached to this tiny thing
That was fun. Missing a couple of integral wing clip pieces but that's it
>>11813959Very nice.
I picked this out at ToysRUs with my birthday money and I fucking loved it. Great build.
a lot fo star wars sets are hard to implement in lego , big wings , oversized multiple engines , walkers, things that move, folding transformation features that make no sense . the designer ends up using all part budgets on these , often leading no room or little room for interiors or module features that a more conventional designed of same parts numbers might accommodate , they also often end up being completely grey. Lego especial traditional lego of bricks and plates was not suited to lego . How often have lego produced star wars transports or shuttles that transport little or nothing
>>11814128thanks for nothing faggot
>>11808868>>>11808576 (OP) #>hmm... don't remember han having a spearIt's when he's rescuing Lando from the pit.
>>11813616oh shit, you just reminded me of the mini collection of SW vehicles they did, they were pretty neat
>>11808576Id like to rebuy it at some point so not going to post it and put more eyes on it
>>11808576I always liked the specialty moulded animals and ore-colour purge sand colours the best in retro sets. My overall favourite is probably the 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina. The original dewback, cloth pauldron sandtroopers, sand red landspeeder, turquoise greedo and mix of elements highlight some of my favourite parts of Lego. The original Ewok Attack and Gungan Patrol are up there too.
>>11815166had this set as a kidsomehow lost the dewback and all the figs except for the stormtrooper like a retardstill have the actual bar and the landspeeder though
>>11816364You raped a child Pedophile.
>>11809452Those classic Phase 1 Clone Troopers are too fucking cool, it's a shame they never made smaller battlepack type sets that featured them>>11809483A set I sincerely wish I had
>>11820452You can still find the jango slave 1 for a reasonable price, but you're going to have to accept that it's going to be 2nd-hand unless you want to go over 2 digits, AND that it's going to be without the minifig because jango alone is worth 100-200.If you really want you could fully wash all of the bricks so it'll look "almost like new" if you find one with virtually no sun damage/discoloration.
This one kinda looks like shit to me now but I remember wanting it so bad when I was a kid. I'm a zoomer, so it was already long retired by the time I was buying Legos, but I saw it in some kind of magazine or one of those Lego books they had and I really wanted one.
>>11823040the novelty of the classic jabba's palace is that you can attack two smaller sets to it to help flesh out the scene, and those smaller sets are worthwhile due to having boba and bib fortuna respectively
>>11823053I completely forgot about that aspect of it. Was the 2012 Jabba's Palace and 2013 rancor pit being attachable supposed to be an updated take on that idea?
I got pic related around the same time I also got an N64 with Episode I Racer. Good times.
>>11823235i had the set with 3 podracers, played a lot with it.imo still the best pit droid design they ever did.
