I'll start the ball rolling with a dumb idea I had ratting around in my brain for a while.
"Capsule Wars".
Pretty simple; Roughly 1/35 scale simple plamo dieselpunk vehicles accompanied with semi-chibi (a bit like pic related proportionally) poseable minifigures. Obviously being SD the figures wouldn't exactly be scaled themselves but would be about 54mm to the top of their heads in keeping with the mushy 1/35 scale of the vehicles. The idea being you could absolutely display them with accessories and props from 1/35 scale models etc. Aesthetically the whole thing would be somewhat Artmic, somewhat Makoto Kobayashi/Dragon's Heaven, a hint of Ghibli and a light sprinkling of Akira Toriyama (mostly mechanical design, which he's highly underrated for IMO). The vehicle kits would each come with their crew, and additional figures could be purchased individually as Gashapon style blindboxes or in complete sets.

Basically Link Travelers with a bigger emphasis on the vehicles? I'm down, I love my little capsule figures. I just built the whole flying jet-ski set the other day and it's a lot of fun to swoosh around. I wish the line itself wasn't virtually impossible to collect though, the majority of sets seem to be limited time online JP only exclusives.

As for a toyline I'd love to make myself, it would be a 1:18 quasi sci-fantasy WWI aesthetic military line with a heavy focus on modular armored vehicles. Figures would be like your current standard 1:18 figures like ME Joes or Acid Rain stuff with a retro-future style designs. Almost military steampunk but not as hipstery. But the main focus would be on their vehicles, various armored transports going from smaller 4x4s and half-tracks to larger play set sized massive rolling command stations and ground carriers. But the majority of em would be mid sized tanks you could mix and match parts between to make your own custom vehicles. Engines, treads, armored cabs, turrets and gunner seats, all sorts of bits and bobs you could take off and mix between sets. It'd have like three different factions with their own colors and tank aesthetics, but parts would be reused and repainted to better combine with each other.

It'd bring back the fun of being able to build your own vehicles, and actually encourage getting more to cross build and customize your armies.

Highly Arriculated 6 inch figures made out of rubber bands, like the original GI Joe but with todays modern tech.

Or tell Mego to get their damn head in the game and MAKE SOME ACTUAL PRODUCT

The promo pics for this Super Cyborg CFTBL look awesome, makes me want a line of monsters/aliens that you can have on a dissection table, or like a cryo chamber. And it's powered by a usb powered LED in it so you can put a monster from the line in it and see them light up.

Also, cavemen. Like that evolution walking picture - you get cro-magnon, neanderthal, real missing link looking dudes, the whole lot.

I would love a caveman fantasy line. Cave men alongside prehistoric animals and mythological shit like bigfoot or werewolves

I love more realistic generic figures. There are lots of great soldiers/knights/centurions you can buy, and skeletons, but still some gaps.

>Grey alien
>Clown

4 inch figure line (poa tbd) that is modular as the main gimmick, think something like say Barbie with the main play aspect being dressing her in new outfits. So yeah, basic idea is a generic 4 inch figure line and you get a few pieces with each figure so you can kinda customize your guy or gal and then you can buy upgrade packs to further build your figure. The upgrade packs could have a blind box aspect but the packs will be themed in generic ways like snow or deep sea or teacher etc etc etc. As far as licensing goes, ideally the figures would be popular enough that companies come to us to pitch a collaborative figure or upgrade pack.
I know I'm not re inventing the wheel with this idea but I'd try to focus on being affordable for parents and kids and really push the modular aspect of the figures so that these wouldn't be boy toys or girls toys, just toys for kids to play with and be creative with.
You want to build a fireman? Would you like to have a teacher with a zombie arm or a robot family? That kind of spirit y'know, where you give the kids the pieces and let them build what they want and of course there would be instructions and specific builds since some kids prefer that over the anxiety of a pile a parts and no way to know they did it "right".

Just thought I'd recommend pic related

I'm really after some deluxe 6 inch ones.
Those are pretty cool though, I was thinking of just buying some simple ones to sneak into the display. I might look for some similar glow in the dark ones.

Someone just did a Cryptids KS which included Aliens, but they're only 4" tall in the 1/12 scale line.

Entry-level BJD dolls
Probably 1/6, model kit-style to decrease cost, use rubber bands and glued parts over hinged and pure friction fit to simplify design, construction, cost and easy customization. Focus on archetypes over characters and only do a few standard body types and skin tones to increase compatibility for people who do not want to go all in on customization. Have a paralel line selling accessories, alternate body parts, outfits, decals, etc. Entry level solid plastic hair and proper wigs.

The guys behind Planet Green Valley had a similar concept called Parallel War. Couldn't say if it's still in the works or abandoned.

Thanks for bringing Link Travellers to my attention, anon, these look great. They're a bit bigger than what I had in mind but very cool regardless.
>>11822999
Honestly I'm surprised that isn't a thing already. We sort of have it with Koto's Grande Scale kits but they're mecha musume. You'd think someone would pitch something for people who want to get into BJDs but aren't quite ready to splurge the ridiculous amounts these things can cost. Would undercut KOs too.
>>
>>11823021
Well then, gotta ask the bank for a loan and some chinese manufacturer to start pumping those BJDs
>>
>>11813527
Idk, I like seeing stuff like this to see what people are interested in. Doubt corpos are gonna directly lift from here. I'd worry more about crafty fellow anons.

>Entry-level BJD dolls
>Probably 1/6
Isn't that basically all those cheap blind box BJDs that are super popular right now though?

Not sure if plamo style model kits would work for something under that kind of tension, it still probably needs to be full casts for some pieces at least. Otherwise the idea is very cool though. Reminds me a bit of what smart doll does with the body types and colors and then selling customizations.

I'll waive hard mode to say

A Totally Spies line would be a lot of fun and probably super cheap to do. You could probably only do two waves, but every spy has the exact same body so you'd just have to swap heads and paint apps.

I'd probably do Sam, Clover, and Alex in wave one alongside Jerry and a villain, then Brittney, Mandy, and Meilin in wave two alongside Zerlina and another villain.
>>
>>11824659
That actually would be nice, you really could just swap their head sculpts and plastic color, and aside from that go crazy on the accessories. The reuse of the body mold would justify using a steel one that could last through a few runs of each girl.
>>
>>11824659
If the initial two waves sell well you could go onto make themed series based off all the mission specific gear they wore in the original series.

I keep forgetting to contribute to this thread. Earlier today I intended to but forgot once I posted in the /pbbg/ thread. Linking to my posts for those curious.

You could even toss in more head sculpts as accessories, or maybe retailer or convention exclusives

High quality palm sized rubber balls with a cute little figure and some neat story lore in the packet. All kids need is a bouncy ball and they should be entertained for hours.
>>
Frame Arms Hags. Model kit girls that are just older women with a variety of body types and mature appeal.

You. I like you.

Modular playsets. Each installment has a different theme and they can be connected together however (you) prefer. They'ed work alot like pic related, but they would come with build in accessories and differently textured surfaces. The core three segments I had in mind were a mad scientist's laboratory, a medieval castle throne room, and a prison.
