I'm the OP of this one. I never make OPs because someone always has one up. The only coincidence I can think of is that I posted on /pol/ (I never post on /pol/) saying that Elon Musk doesn't actually have 3 trillion dollars in cash but it's all the companies worth and his debts, that he has around 800 million in cash (I'm sure he has more hidden away in panama). Maybe jannies got mad that I dunked on him and they deleted the thread? I swear I was the last one to reply to the Ultron minifig anon and then in 29 seconds the thread got deleted. That's my schizo theory.

Once again I am asking for a Simpsons CMF line to tie in with the Simpsons Movie 2 (it's going to be absolute dogshit)

I basically haven’t had cable TV since undergrad, and that was probably like season 18. Not sure I was exactly eagerly awaiting the new episodes for years before then anyway, though.

La-loyd. I will never be convinced a Ninjago figure needs a space in a generic CMF wave. Put him in a fucking polybag or a set where he belongs.
>>
>>11821214
Of the ones I got:
> Robot T-Rex
This figure is really amazing, it has printing on almost every possible surface and it's really high quality print, I recently had a lot of problems with lego figures having poor printing but this one was great, maybe because it's all printed on white but it's still really nice and the metal print is shiny too, not just grey. Not sure what I will use him for but this is a really cool and really well made minifig.
>Tahu and Elf
Tahu is pretty good, probably the best bionicle minifigure we have got considering the strange old ones, which I like but I'm not going to say they are better than this. Only bad thing about this fig is the head not being an actual bionicle head print.
The elf is really nice too, there is nothing wrong with it at all but it is a more simple figure than some of the others. The unicorn is really good too. Pretty perfect elf woman if you need one.
>Cute Witch
This figure I was most disappointed by, in person it's not really as good looking as the pictures. The head print is kind of ugly and in-person the legs are too long, you can see lots of bare light blue under the skirt and it looks bad, I think this figure should of had shorter legs. The legs also don't really match the rest of the figure well.
>>
>>11821214
Top tier: RoboRex, Monster Hunter, Cute Witch, Lloyd.
Good tier: Bionicle guy, Trash Monster, Elven Princess
Ok tier: Scuba girl, Chocolatier, Tuba guy
Meh tier: Boba girl
Shit tier: Soccer Goalie

Lloyd I really only like because the body is nice, and can be used for some forest/castle rogues and such.

I like the heart glasses face on Boba girl, but the body just being a blank pink body is pretty lazy.

I feel like the only one who just doesn't see the soldier usage for the Tuba guy. He still just looks like a band member regardless...

Soccer guy actually kind of has a nice print on the shirt, but I could not care less about the guy, and the shirt isn't even useful for anything else.

>Bad batch had no cultural impact
I wonder if Bad Batch was done in live action, if more people would have tuned in to it. like how One Piece in live action got people to watch regardless that there's a thousand anime episodes

similarly, I wonder if Acolyte was done in cartoon-style, if they wouldn't have memory-hole-cancelled it right away. as awful as it was, I still think it's lame they only told half the story and then yoinked it away. (me and that other guy really wanted to know how it all turned out in the end. maybe there's a third person who watched it? lol)

but yeah, I would like a few more Bad Batch sets, too. it's crazy to think about all the THINGS in all those many Star Wars shows that exist, and Lego does another thing they've done a dozen times already

>Imagine if they put two trainers and two Pokémon in a $15 battle pack like Harry Potter is getting.
>I say imagine because it’ll never ever ever happen.
it's mind-blowing insanity levels of WTF-ness.
how does Lego not know that's exactly what people expect Lego Pokemon sets to be?

I mean, sure, have a couple giant brick-built statue things, that's fine. but Lego CAN do the little bitty ones. easily.

the insistence of the Smart Brick inclusion really messed it up. that dumb brick is such a super epic-level disaster.
>>
>>11821663
There are a couple of workaround options for Lego when it comes to minifig scale Pokémon.
Option 1: Reuse animal molds and give them unique printing. Sure that limits the number of Pokémon you can sell but it's not that expensive to just paint flames on a horse mold and call it a rapidash.
Option 2: Make Pokémon minifigs with special molded heads and tails. There's already a bunch of unique head molds that can be re-purposed especially from animal crossing and a lot of the details can be worked around with non printed elements like different colored legs and arms.

I felt so "seen" while watching Acolyte. finally a Star Wars with two moms. and that song they sang was moving. "the power of maaannnnyyy!" ah it was so powerful I was crying

kidding aside, "visually" there was a lot of cool-looking stuff, at least. Trinity and Squid Game Guy deserved Minifigs at least. I wonder if Lego yoinked a set out of production when the show failed

Lego simply cannot jump on trends. they have to rely on "guessing" on the summer movies to do, and stick to reliable established things.

imagine the cringe if Lego did a Six-Sevvvveeen set now lol. you cannot do that with year-long minimum reaction times.

they are furiously working on KDH 2 movie, so when that arrives, there's a chance Lego will have been ready for it, but Lego's history on that sort of thing is unreliable, too

I don't find it a problem, the arms are cheap enough on Bricklink in teal anyway. They included spares in every set for a reason after all. Unless you have Arcturus. Even Rigel can be fixed because they released the arms in green for Space Police.

It was already a pain enough getting one broken medium green arm and also the dark orange ones I needed, biggest issue will now be getting a custom dark red pair of martian legs made, also had to harvest a 1999 security droid torso for him (specifically that one just because I like the pattern) so yeah the frankenstein freak I’ve made is going along ok. Moreso wondering what random bulk I can get for bionicle stuff now more than anything

We got no reverse of that stupid Darth Maul hip piece that lets clips connect to a bar unfortunately, also if somebody were in that style they would be REALLY skinny. Maybe just doubling down and spray painting some Life on Mars legs in a similar silver would work best and just make a martian in a silver suit

Lego could do a few sets such as

>buildable dragon
>that knight carriage from shrek 5 trailer
>far far away land castle

Also, they can do some puss in boots stuff like a Jack Horner carriage set, the 3 bears and goldylocks and puss vs death (for real). Yeah, I ignored the first puss film, nobody cares about it. If Lego had the license back when the films roled I'm sure they would've done lots of things as sets but the current design philosophy and Lego is less is more.

Monster huntress 5/6

Roboraptor 4/6

Trash monster 4/6
I 1 U 2 E 1
Magical girl 3/6
I 1 U 1 E 1
Ninja gay 2/6
I 1 U 0 E 1 (ninjago slop is thoroughly overdone but he fits as a forest ranger or something)
Soccer Player 1/6
I 0 U 1 E 0 (If the soccer theme wasn't 20 years ago it would be 0, colours are bad and you can't build a team where every guy is number 1)
Chocolatier 1/6
I 0 U 0 E 1 (Only gets a point for the dragon being usable as wood)
Scoober diver 1/6
I 0 U 0 E 1 (point is for the fish and visor hairpiece)
Booba Tea 0/6
I 0 U 0 E 0

I think there's merit to adding a score for usability. If a minifig can have it's parts used for interchangeable themes and original builds then it has value. Probably wouldn't hurt to have a score for the accessories too.

>>11821650
More likely this, the seller is chinese.

It's worked into the Interestingness score for theme and Execution for parts. I don't really want to divide the score into too many categories because then the core categories would be weighted too low and have less flexibility.

The jedi used two different types of star fighters in the Clone Wars

Phase 1:
The Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor, commonly known as the Jedi starfighter due to its widespread use by the Jedi, was a starfighter model employed during the Clone Wars.

Phase 2:
The Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, also known as the Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor, Eta-2 light interceptor, Eta-2 interceptor or simply Actis, was a starfighter used by the Jedi during the Clone Wars. Their popularity with the Jedi Order during the conflict resulted in the Actis being known as the Jedi starfighter. Designed to replace the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, the Eta-2 interceptor was a smaller vessel but possessed superior firepower.

I think it can work sometimes, maybe even needed, but often or not it just looks way too tacky to me.
Darth Vader is probably the worst example that I know of. He is supposed to be a black-robbed villain, but the only way to add "details" on a black minifig is with grey lines, and when he gets plastered all over the place with grey he just ends up looking more grey than black to me.
>>
>>11823368
Star Wars isn't even where it's the worst I think, although the completely unnecessary knee prints on stormtroopers and whatnot are beyond annoying (what was wrong with just a black crotch piece, exactly?). No, the worst shit by far is something like Marvelslop, where every character has some shitty bayformer-tier texture on their legs or arms that makes it completely useless for any other minifig.

For one, I just like Lego's dark blue, its also one of the few Speed Champions that doesn't feel like it has a few pieces that have kind of weak connections. It just feels sturdy and solid, and looks sleek all-around. And while Speed Champions are one of the few Lego lines I don't really mind stickers on, some of them do get a big crazy. >what's wrong with mickey mouse again
when I was growing up, "Disney" was on cable TV, and my family never ever got cable, we were fine with regular TV (7 channels!)

you had to PAY to get Mickey Mouse. even Disney World was PAY PAY PAY and we never could afford to go there, we didn't even have cable!

so Mickey Mouse always seemed like a only-for-the-rich douchebag character.

Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes were free and happy to share their antics with everybody. Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, lots of others. except Mickey Mouse. suck it poor guy. maybe when you get some cash you can watch a Mickey Mouse thing.

Pro tip: never order pieces unless you have your build ready in a prototype model or Studio.

>My Star Destroyer MOC stand = 10/10 made in Studio/with Bricks
>My Slopsons figure MOC stand = 5/10 "ehhh that should be enough bricks"
It sucks because I actually do have the 4 row stand built in Studio but I wanted to just order everything right away. Only thing I can really say is that "light purple" or whatever Lego calls it is a perfect Simps color and the stand is super sturdy unlike the flimsy Chinese "plastic block figure" stands.

Ah yeah, thats weird. I can only pretend that he's actually using the panel to the right but still. The interior is really poorly designed as a playset. It really is just an excuse for a big SD build, but it looks really good when built.

not a bad mock-up for the idea of it, but I'd like to think Lego would do better. here's my minimum expectations for Pirate CMF:

-more closed-torsos (no yellow neck lines) for MOC diversitay purposes
-half male/half female, half good/half bad
-skeleton would be an accessory for somebody (two-fer!?!)
-shark would be accessory (similar to the wolf guy)
-more new hat-with-hair pieces, maybe a new crazy beard. CMF gets a budget for cool new parts and maybe a few of those would be One Piece preview re-colors or something
-the only expected existing-character-new-version is the Red Bearded Captain guy, which they kinda did already, so maybe not.

-and finally, my minimum expectation is that Lego will screw it up (hahah just kidding! not really... just kidding!)

For someone who wants to get into the hobby, how viable is it to buy a set or minfigs of a character, wait for it to appreciate after it retires to sell, then use the surplus to buy the things I want after making back what I bought them for?
>>
>>11825566
Don't buy sets you don't want just to invest, bitcoin or something is better and easier to sell. Maybe buy sets you want to enjoy but resell later, but keep in mind by opening them you are reducing the value and may not make a profit depending on demand for the set.
If you want the hobby to mostly pay for itself, buy second hand bulk on FB marketplace. Wash it, sort it into the sets, and sell the stuff you don't want. You can pretty easily get it to cover the cost and even make a profit while keeping the sets you do want, if you choose the bulk lot well. This does require knowledge though of how to recognise what sets are there from what eras, do they have the important/valuable parts/minifigs, what condition they are in, how much they are worth, etc. Understand that if you sell on bricklink/ebay or something, you will get raped by fees/taxes/shipping. If you sell on Marketplace for cash in hand, you will get less but avoid all of that.
If you're new to the hobby you'll want to grab some bulk anyway just to get a variety of parts.

Like others said, there no market to make money unless you're buying certain licensed sets. Dr. Who, Seinfeld, Friends, these are all sets that jumped in value. Wonder Woman 1984 sets? Lmao. Usually bigger sets like $200 will jump in value, so that means you need to buy two $200 sets + sales tax, then wait 2-5 years for it to go up in price. You're fucked if that set wasn't wanted and went on clearance and people with who resell Lego and a business have 300 of them stocked up. Those people can wait or even sell at a "loss". Just buy what you want. If you think something might be valuable there up to you and your interest in gambling.

So here's my wave 1 prediction:
>Kame House (Saiyan Saga set, maybe has Raditz included)
>A brickbuilt Vegeta great ape form
>A small Saiyan escape pod for Vegeta
>A Ginyu Force set
>Frieza ship
What other sets do you guys think we get? Leakers said these are not january sets so I suppose its either march/april or june. Also, it makes sense since we get new dbz anime soon and there's rumblings of a dbz anime remake. I guess 2028 is some of frieza and android saga

Name a dumber company than Lego, they literally have money coming at them and they say no, I hope we get more sets next year, with minifigs and that aren't 4+...

Wtf, they use Hamm in this poster but didn't bring back the mold? Why??? And bring Rex too...

With so many licensed themes coming back, or arriving for the first time, let's play a game:
>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to bring back?
For me, it's Scooby-Doo.

>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to do, but it probably will never happen?
Halo.

>What licensed theme would you want to see LEGO make that is very likely to happen?
Probably Magic The Gathering.

I expect epic moments dbz sets, the epic moment subline marvel introduced works perfectly for something like anime.

i was also considering getting some stuff thats on double points but considering the conversion rate from points to currency (7,5pts/€ or 6,5pts/$) and then the value of the point when u spent them (about 0,007pts/€ or 0,0077 pts/$) i feel like a 20%-30% sale on a set is way more worth it

But the theme is happening and dbz isn't that dark actually. Star wars is darker so is marvel or dc. Even dune too. Can list go on

any or all Dragonball "sets" will wind up being things nobody recognizes. it's ridiculous. the only thing anybody thinks of when you say "Dragonball" is a tan desert with mesas to crash through and craters in the ground.

this vehicle!
capsule-thing!
it's a house!
huh? what's this thing?
(anything to add piece-count to justify any character in a $130 set)

can they really cater to such a small group of people who would get excited about those things?
why not just make it a CMF series and be done with it?

is this truly an exposure of some new employee pushing his personal -wants- into production? "hey! that other guy got to make all those Wicked sets, let me make my Dragonball ones, boss!"

Just need 1 more black chair and a few winged plates, it was literally this easy to fix, I genuinely think some of these lego designers aren't autistic enough, or maybe the higher-up are just breathing down their necks too much about how the model must be virtually indestructible because it's only a tiny bit less sturdy after my fix.

PAB is only good if you are getting the best sellers, otherwise it's like a 25 day wait if you're in the US. There ARE some sellers on Bricklink that sell new pieces tho. Also yeah the free shipping is nice on PAB but it means you have to hit a certain amount of bricks.

>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to bring back?
Avatar the Last Airbender

>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to do, but it probably will never happen?
Team Fortress 2

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Ghostbusters (they probably still have it, since the Icons Ecto-1 just retired a year or so ago, but) have them do sets based on the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, since it had a bunch of other vehicles. It would also give them a chance to get the firehouse and playscale Ecto-1 back on the market.

>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to do, but it probably will never happen?
Dead Space. I've always wanted something like a UCS Ishimura. And then just make a buildable marker and upscaled Isaac Minifigure, or something.

>What licensed theme would you want LEGO to do, but it probably will never happen?
I really don't know....I guess since they just did a TMNT Brickheadz (which I have no interest in) I hope they do playsets based on the old TMNT cartoon. Or, hell, even mix it up through all movies and cartoons and stuff.

Also do a Gremlins CMF series, since years ago they did Stripe and Gizmo minifigs in the Dimensions game.

He's always said he doesn't collect minifigures, and does care about minifigures, but then when he is doing comparisons for size, he's like "Let me just pull a random minifigure for comparison" and it is some over designed 3rd party clone trooper, or a random bootleg of a minifigure from some obscure anime.

might be a little much honestly, but culture shifted internally to be a lot mkrw hostile towards employees. Essentially mistakes from higher-ups have led to less benefits for everyone else in the company. On top of that higher-ups are Essentially doing everything they can to keep their positions that so many of the bad company decisions are the active results of higher individuals from outside of the company who are meant to fail in those positions. So in turn they aren't a threat to those above them. So there's an expensive revolving door of unqualified people coming in and out of the company creating friction. There's also another thing but I feel that might too much for these threads.

epic games did manage to scam them out of a billion dollars by claiming that they would build them a "metaverse" years ago. They've also been convinced into donating pretty heffy sums of their revenues to effort that are effectively trying to censor the internet. There's a huge funnel of money leaving the company due to spending like this.
