How well do flocked figures hold up? Do they last a while or get damaged quickly? I want to get Chuck but am torn between the normal and the flocked.
>>11822681typically I dont think many articulated things are flocked. I'd be worried the joints would make the flocking come off pretty quickly
>>11822681Flocked gathers dust that isnt comparably easy to clean. just get the regular. I'd also rather get modern Chuck E
>>11822681My Moss Man from MOTU classics is still holding up
>>11822681flocking will basically instantly rub off at any point of articulation that isn’t a swivel unless the toy has been engineered to account for it with a bunch of extra space on the joints or the joint areas aren’t coated. There’s about zero chance this cheap ass marvel legends looking figure has put in that effort, I’d get the regular one.
>>11822681>How well do flocked figures hold up?They pretty much don't. The flocking peels very easily to where it's nothing short of a small miracle to find 40-year-old Mossman and Panthor that still have flocking on them.
Alright guys thanks for the replies, I’ll get the regular one.>>11822721Do you play with it a lot or does it stay on the shelf? Is it gathering dust like >>11822695 said?
>>11822726You are wrong about the figure. The guy has put a ton of thought and effort into this.
>>11822749I severely doubt it but hey it’s your money.
Flocked toys age like shit
>>11822758Enjoy being wrong
>>11822802Settle down, did your mom say you can’t go to Chuck E. Cheese today or something? I don’t give a rats ass about this figure either way bud, I’m not buying it, just sharing experience with flocked toys.
>>11822827Experience you lied about
>>11822681I've got a few origins moss man figures and they've been out on the shelf for years now without any issues. I've seen vintage moss man figures in various states of wear but it's not like the glue gave way and the flocking fell off it's just normal wear and tear. I'd guess humidity would be a issue of concern for flocked figures?
Flocked toys are based. You can expect some wear and tear but only after very heavy use/15+ years, so not much difference from most other toys. Enjoy the cool factor now, and 5 years from now, and in 2045 if you're still alive and playing with it then it will have a nice vintage look.
>>11822681Sylvanians/Calico Critters hold up fairly well, but they’ve been making them for decades so have the formula down pat, this might not hold up to the same standards. They definitely attract dust though, which you can clean with some weak sticky tape.I think this Chuck E. Cheese particularly will rub off at the elbow and knee joints after some time, but the rest should hopefully hold. You can repair flocking damage but it’s very finicky and annoying.
>>11822827Found the liar
>>11822737I posed it, didn't "play" with it, no. Flocking holds up really well over time unless you're retarded and take it in the bath or leave it outside. It's never a 100% thing, but yeah, it lasts for a long ass time.
>>11823360we're talking about articulated figures though. Very different with the ball jointed parts compared to statues
>>11823516Now this is projection
>>11822681Probably wont hold up well to constant play. If youre gonna display him probably choose a pose and dont mess with it too much.
>>11822681That's not Chuck E. Cheese. I know Chuck E. Cheese. I met him. I even smacked his fat ass.
>>11825227Chuck E Cheese in rollerblade gear is such a forced design. He's a barbershop guy, just like Shakey's
