Every other "dark skinned" character is either Pacific Islander (everyone in Alola, Marlon, Marshal, etc) or from Poke-India (Nessa, Raihan, Rose, Peony). You'll notice their faces look nothing like the previously mentioned actually black three characters - they're fairly distinct.
