Does anyone make Reboot action figures currently? I used to have a bunch of the old ones but they weren't that great. I think they even lost articulation as the line went on.
Holy Boomerino
No, there’s nothing. It was a pretty popular show though so maybe someone will pick it up eventually.
No one. I don't even know why, it was really popular. Even had a PlayStation game.
At this point I could only see Ramen Toys giving it a shot. Either them or some other no name third party outfit like the guys responsible for Ronald McDonald Joker, one 12 Woody, or not-figma Captain Planet.
>>11827278No and unlikely anyone will. Might aswell track down the old stuff if you really want something.
>>11827350It seems like it has to be a super popular franchise to get a bootleg. I'm not sure Reboot is that popular.
>>11827368Why do you have two red robots?
>>11827278>I think they even lost articulation as the line went on.You're thinking of the 12 inch ones, not the 5.5. I think they were only like 5poa but they were really detailed for the time.
>>11827419Not my pic but one of the two is actually a micro playset.
>>11827442That franchise got the Polly Pocket treatment too? Cool.
>>11827416Neither Captain Planet nor Bravestarr are what I'd consider popular in the 2020's but both got toys despite that. There's a chance, you just need to assure the right business man that there's demand. Frankly I remained surprised by the abscence of third party Small Soldier figures. Seems like the easiest betthat could be made.
>>11827749The army guys were the bad ones in that movie, right? That's a bad look for the mililary desu.
>>11827751>Frankly Im just a confused boomer those gosh darn chinks havent bootlegged a classic american filmbecause they dont care about it
>>11827749How long did Captain Planet last? Did we get more than Captain Planet? Kinda seems like it was a meme thing almost.
>>11827749Yes, a movie that features the American military seems like a shoe in for Asian companies, like those in Vietnam, to make...
>>11827278Someone on the Reboot Revival facebook group has been buying up the prototypes for the toys in the last 2 or 3 years. Even unproduced toys. But its not someone savvy enough to make models for 3d printing sadly
>>11827749The difference is ReBoot never took off in Canada. (Its the reason the CEO of YTV gave in the ReBoot rewind documentary on youtube.) They also talk about shittons of toys they had planned but Irwin pulled out of the massive toy deal fucking them over which breaks my heart
Its weird how Americans just make shows then don't maintain any ownership or legacy to maintain its brand and keep interest alive unlike Japan that does it very well with anime and remaking stuff whenever they want or sequel spin offs with new ideas.
>>11827826>ReBoot>American>Starting west vs east shit out of nowhereGo back to /co/ I know what you are.
>>11827830you retards want to censor the internet and all discussion its so funny how you cry when its going to kill all discussions
>>11827753It really didnt last that long, it just remained in syndication up until the late 90's. >Kinda seems like it was a meme thing almost.Everything normalfags accuse MOTU of being is what Captain Planet is outright.
>>11827825You'd think he'd just sell off the property. I dont get these suits who sit on a beloved IP while spending every minute of the day denigrating it. I know the Duke Nukem dude is like that too.
11827826118277691182775211827751Holy samefag batman11827835You're beyond disingenious. Great job tanking the board you giant faggot.
>>11827825Reboot was super popular in Canada. It aired often on YTV. Heck, it was probably stronger in Canada than the US with episodes making their debut on YTV first. Mainframe is a Canadian animation studio I mean. It was no Simpsons but if you grew up in Canada in the mid to late 1990s and watched YTV there's a good chance you at least knew what Reboot was.
>>11827826Reboot was Canadian.
>>11828009Sorry, I meant the new action figure line specifically.
>>11828707Well it wasnt much of a line, just the one captain planet figure. It scales with the vintage planeteers so atleast there's that. Also I've only just realized "Earth Defender" was made by the same guys who did the one Popeye figure, Dasin.
>>11828701>honestly it was a wholesome show on canadian airways I'll have you know, just a rootin tootin heck of a gosh darn timelook at this boomer thinking anyone gives a shit about reboot when skibidi toilet is what every child watches
>>11828716I wish they did the Planeteers. Linka is my waifu.
>>11828010It's a big assumption that anyone out there wants to actually buy up this property for a sum that would be worthwhile to then. I'm sure there's lots of fans who'd love to, but lack the capital that would be worth selling an IP. If a big company like Disney or Netflix decided to pay up for the IP, I'm sure they'd sell.
>>11828722rat
I’m legitimately surprised how Mainframe seems totally uninterested in licensing out and merchandising ReBoot to fans. Like, maybe it’s too small for Mattel or Hasbro but certainly a Super7 or Boss Fight Studios would be interested.
>>11829452Generally it’s the toy company that reaches out for these dormant IPs, and most of the toy companies use are still ran by Gen Xers and 80s kids. And to be fair, when they do attempt to do 90s it often underperforms, like Neca Gargoyles
>>11829452>>11829477>gosh golly gee im such a confsed boomer on why kids these days arent clamorign for a wholsome boomer cartoonbecause americans dont knwo how to brand synergize unlike japan
