>>11828965This is such a goofy fucking plot
>>11828977Not really
>>11828977It's history. It's lore. You can't ignore it.
>>11828977screencap it cuz it's gonna be in a comic within like 3 years

>>11828958CT's Supes is pretty good. I'm gonna give him a matte spray coat eventually but he's still a solid figure. Here's two insanely strong beings taking a photo together.
>>11829069That's a fine brick wall. WAIT! Are those bricks even real??
>>11828958>4 heads this time>Still have to buy Clark to get the smiling headFuck's sake Medicom
>>11829069Hush Superman has always looked awful and this ko is god awful
>>11829069I saw a comparison video between it and the original Mafex. I like the CT heads better even if there's a bunch of stuff that needs touched up.
>>11828963Our hero.
>>11829069make sure to wash the cape so it doesn't stain the fig.
Let’s all chill out!!!
>>11829088I don't even really need a big dopey grin or anything. Just something a bit friendlier.
>>11829109>>11829110These out yet?
>>11829137Just put the McFarlane Superman/Ultraman two pack or DC Classic Superman head on top of it.
>>11829143>buy a $200 dollar toy>replace the head with a mcfartlameIs this really how importers conduct themselves?
God, Superman For Tomorrow was a shit story. A complete waste of Jim Lee on art. I guess it means the figure will look good but fucking christ was Azzarello up his own ass.
>>11829092>>11829097I mean I paid 35 for it so I really can't complain. The heads are actually pretty good, even the smiling head. Dunno if they'd work on the original figure or not though. >>11829084I hobbled it together so it's nothing special, I know. I'd like to throw something together so I could change the backdrops to various different scenery but haven't come up with an idea I like.
>>11829152Can this one panel of statues save this toyline?
>>11829186No!
>>11829152>What does it mean?Couldn't have thought it better myself.
Some changes with the cape.
Yeah, I'll wait for the LPZZ/UPF Hush Superman...
I'll wait for the inevitable Yamaguchi 2.0 Superman with a smiling face (not lock behind as a pre order bonus).

>>11829294being a nice and easygoing guy is an essential part of his character. thats like making goku without his hadouken.
>>11829296Cool!
>>11829296Saw this yesterday. Looks dope. I'd want figures for this but Mafex already has me covered.
*flashes past you*
>>11828361Even if I'm paying $40 for shipping, it'll be slightly cheaper than paying BBTS for it. You guys should not be paying $120 for these figures, I've been paying about $30ish to import stuff from Amiami lately so this'll work for me. Are you guys just new to importing?
>>11829361>New to imports I've got a few snail shell and model kits, but those aren't at the price point of mafex. But yr point is to shop around right?
>>11829381Amiami is usually cheaper than other sites for whatever reason. But yes, shop around import sites, take the exchange rate into account. Also don't type like you're a 12 year old.
>>11829361It's worth the bbts price to assure it won't get destroyed by customs. You guys should not be taking that risk with everything going on mentioned in the import thread
>>11829137Yeah, I would have been fine if they just packed in the smiling head from the Clark figure. I think that's good enough to get the point across
>>11829385Sorry mom, I will redouble my efforts at conveying my thoughts through text in a more eloquent and efficient way moving forward . Sincere apologies, I have offended you, and brought shame upon my family. I shall refrain from typing hence forth
>>11829405This is only a big deal for smaller mom and pop companies. Companies like Bandai or Medicom are large enough they should already be filing the necessary paperwork.
>>11829478You little girls get so fucking offended by the littlest things. Ye a fag frfr
>>11829480NTA, and I purchase almost everything through AmiAmi and Zenmarket, but I think some people prefer buying through BBTS in case there are defects and they need to return or replace it. It's expensive and time consuming returning things to Japan and most collectors aren't comfortable enough to fix their own figures.
>>11829294>Why are people here addicted to Superman smiling?Because he's Superman. He's the symbol of hope. He's generally a friendly guy so at the very least it'd be nice to have a more relaxed neutral expression.
>>11829480The store shipping it is the one who has to submit the paperwork though and even if they have it from bandai, medicom, etc it doesn't guarantee they will do it right or customs won't find something wrong with it and tear the box apart
>>11829571It's crazy that this is Snyder's legacy.
>>11829294What a stupid question.
>>11828958BROTHER!
>>11829143ewwww...
>>11829249That's a really hot Bruce!
>>11829294>Supes is a brooding hateful conservicuck like me!No, get out. Supes smiles and gives everyone hope.
>>11829294Yeah, Superman must be grim and edgy... and bald ;)
>>11828958Is Mafex seriously just reusing the 6-year old body again? While charging alot more?
>>11829294
>>11829833Expected of businesses.
Ive seen some comic talk here so don't mind my off topic It's crazy to me how Hunter/Prey does more in its first chapter to establish Doomsday than the entire Death of Superman storyline. I get that Death is creating a force of nature with Doomsday and Hunter/Prey is trying to establish a comic book villain but there is a huge difference between Doomsday running rough shod over a C list JLA and Doomsday handling the entire Planet of Apokolips and whooping the tar out of Darkseid.
>>11829899Maybe when they had no direct competitors. LPZZ and InArt are about to take all their marketshare.
>>11829777
>>11829912I'm still waiting for an updated figure of this.
>>11829921LPZZ and Inart are harder to get at reasonable prices.
>>11829928Well yeah, me too. I hated it but just fell in love with it later. It's just so EXTREME for Superman that I just needed a minute to accept it.A smartwatch is kinda like a motherbox right?
>>11829928I want this and Electric Superman I wish Mafex had gotten Morrison JLA instead of Jim Lee
>>11829955Even compared to Mafex, they're like $30 more expensive. I dunno, they look good and all but I don't expect them to go deep into character selection, at least Mafex has widened their selection a bit with a decent Bat villain lineup, and now we're dipping into Superman stuff. Where's that Doomsday they showed off a while ago?
>>11829957This Doomsday and Superman were my first versions of those characters, and my dad had Hunter/Prey so I read that before the Death and Return arc. Doesn't Hank show up in red armor with long hair? Reading Superman comics as a kid was wild, I kept wondering why he didn't just use his power sword to kill Lex. Turns out Superman's glowing power sword isn't really a regular thing, even though it should be.
>>11830004An Apokolips Hank would be a cool figure.
>>11830030I think Hank is the Superman villain I love hating the most. Lex is fun and devious, characters like Livewire and Parasite are tragic, even heavies like Mongul are fun in their simplicity.Hank is just scum. There are no redeeming qualities about this stupid asshole. He larps as Superman for a while as some fucked up cyborg monster, doing weird stuff like crying in front of Lois and trying to seduce Superboy. Then Superman vaporizes him into a cloud of sparkly dust, but he comes back on Apokolips. He doesn't even need to have a Superman Terminator face anymore because he isn't pretending he's Superman but now Superman has long hair so Hank needs long hair, because the only thing Hank has anymore is wishing he was Superman. What do you even call him now? Cyborg? Just Hank? What a dumb fucking asshole. Nothing he does makes sense, there are no themes or character arcs that really mean anything, he's just some dumb annoying asshole who won't stay dead.I wonder if there are nights where Clark just lays in bed looking through his roof into deep space, checking in on the all the dipshits who pretend they're him like Bizarro and Hank to make sure they aren't up to anything extra fucking dumb.
>>11829955>>11829975>more expensive.Doesn't matter when they are way, WAY better toys. Also, they are like $80-100, from Chinese stores, not a drastic difference. As a Leaf, it's actually cheaper, since Chinese stores ship much cheaper to Canada than Japanese stores do.
>>11830050Complex villains are well and good but too much power too much complexity and they become nearly unusable. Any time Darkseid shows up now it has to be an event. Mongul and Henshasw can show up just to be a dick. They can have whatever stupid plan they want and have end in a big dumb fight. This gives them way more flexibility. And sometimes pettiness is endearing. Guys like Black Manta or Reverse Flash just feel good to see whupped.
All this talk of Superman but what’s the opinion on Wonder Woman? I’ve wanted a comic style for a while and wasn’t convinced on the revoltech so might pick this one up>>11829294Because we are starved of it. The latest figure not only has no smiling face, but has four angry faces. >>11829088They do that to ensure you double dip
Core Joker and Flash back in stock on Amazon.
>>11830077I wouldn't say they're WAY better toys. You are giving the chinks too much credit here. Articulation looks to be about the same, range of movement looks to be about the same, accessory count is similar. I dunno, I don't know if they are THAT much better like you claim.
>>11830143I really like it, until the cape comes off. The cape just hides the shoulder articulation and makes the figure more pleasant to look at.
>>11830085Oh yeah lol, what a jerk.Idk why but the destruction of Coast City really struck a nerve with me. Really hit me hard, like an actual tragedy from the real world.
>>11830143>All this talk of Superman but what’s the opinion on Wonder Woman? No smiling face, breast too small, butt too small, legs not thick (not fat or muscular) enough, waist could be a bit thinner, no lasso and it would have been cool if she has gun fire effects for the bracelet/shield like revoltech.
>>11830288If you just want a titty figure of her there are plenty of titty statues available.
>>11830288>ww>no lassoThat's quite egregious. Did she not use it in that story or something?
>>11830143ugly, no lasso, $130fuck no
>>11830289If I want a statue of western characters then I wouldnt be posting on /toy/ I would be on....nowhere. /co/ doesnt have a buyfag thread and /a/ is /a/.
>>11830288>>11830296>>11830303>no lassoHonestly, even if they included a lasso I'd probably toss it in the bin and never use it. I currently use just some gold cord that I got for like $3 at Michaels for my Wonder Woman. Hell, you could even get some of that gold coated copper wire and have a bendy wire to pose the actual lasso. These solutions are all under $5 and will function and hold up better than some painted plastic lasso they'd include otherwise. Of all the things to complain about, this is the least egregious imo since it's such a cheap and simple solution.
>>11830319For a $130 figure she should have a lasso.
>>11830328I'm not paying that much, I'm paying $77 before shipping.
>>11830258Have you actually seen a review for their latest release? I promise you that if you do, you will see this is WAY better than anything Mafex has done in the last 5 years. Almost seamless sculpting, amazing articulation, and extremely detailed paint (especially compared to basic-bitch mafex paintjobs). Yeah there is one small QC concern with one of the part-swaps, but that's all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzZN-y9t_y8
>>11830346I've seen reviews, and while I do think they're Arkham and movie stuff looks good, I don't think a lot of it will translate as well to something like a comic style Batman. There can't be seamless sculpting with a guy in just a spandex suit, and the paint and articulation is no better than on a Mafex not sure why you think it's so much better on LPZZ, it seems pretty comparable to me.
>>11830350You can make a case for Mafex's "comic-style" figures I guess, but LPZZ is already making in-roads there too, with comic Hush Batman and Superman in production.I used to buy Mafex but they've fallen off as a company just like SHF and even Revo. Mafex might be the worst case of the 3>constant re-use of sculpts that are getting 5-6 years old now>price hikes on said re-used bodies>paint is basic matte costumes with mid-shading and often has sloppy QC>Articulation engineering remains dated as the body-sculpts are re-usedLPZZ is exciting because they are perusing Amazing-Yamaguchi level of articulation without the ugly sculpting concessions, they aren't re-using bodies and they overall put alot of detail into the paint-jobs and accessories. This has been a common theme with new boutique Chinese toy companies(InArt,SexyIce,LPZZ) coming in and btfoing alot of the established Japanese brands who are frankly resting on their laurels.
>>11829777He is smiling.
>>11830366I can't wait for Hush Batman. It feels more like Jim Lee's art than the MAFEX.
>>11830366Yeah comparing this to Mafex, other than head sculpt, it really isn't that much better or worse than the Mafex. Just a tad different. I will admit the head on the LPZZ is much more accurate. But I dunno, there are just things I dislike about the LPZZ's sculpt. Too realistic for what I'm looking for in a comic style Batman I guess.
>>11830375It's gonna be the next big thing when it comes out, just like Mafex Hush was.>>11830377I dunno man, I think you may be holding onto a company that puts in the bare-minimum.
>>11830381
Turn that frown upside down!
>>11830381>>11830383Honestly, you're coming off as trying to sell me on the figure at this point. I don't have to like it just because you do. And I'm not saying it's bad by any means, just saying that I don't think Mafex is as bad as you claim. Also, the only time Mafex reuses sculpts is for repaints and 1.5's like the new Superman. The Knightfall Batman uses a different, yet similar, sculpt to Hush Batman. I can get the Mafex in a pretty similar pose, the range is definitely slightly better on the LPZZ, but it really isn't by much, not like Revoltech standards like you imply.
>>11830394Look man you can like what you like, I'm in the process of trying to sell my own black Mafex Hush, which I don't think is terrible or "bad" by any means. I just bought the new Mafex Vader which you can see in the pic, but if InArt were to do a Vader, you can bet your ass I'd be getting that. I just think that Mafex as a brand puts in pretty low-effort nowadays compared to emerging competitors, same way that SHF seemed low effort by comparing them to Mafex some years back. Sometimes Mafex makes small changes to the sculpt for new Spideys and Batmen, but they don't really push their articulation ahead by any leaps and bounds. I think you will have a very hard time finding a Mafex that can compete with pic rel>>11830346 in terms of range, and I think their new Hush will probably have much better range than the Mafex Hush as well. I also won't have to deal with the fuck-huge cape anymore which is definitively a plus.
>>11829097It's okay, anon. These pallet patio dwellers wish they could have brick walls....
>>11830413I dunno, I guess I haven't tried any of these Chinese companies yet, so I can't say with any actual clarity if they're better or not. They look good, don't get me wrong, but at the same time, they're not exactly blowing me away either. I may try out LPZZ Hush Batman, I'd have grabbed the Arkham Batman if it was his City or Asylum look, which I prefer. Although, I do already have both Hush and Knightfall Batmen, I really don't need another Hush. Now, if they were doing his current suit from the comics, I'd be more interested, as I really like the colors and tweaks they made to the costume.
>>11830499>I dunno, I guess I haven't tried any of these Chinese companiesI'd say just give one a shot, doesn't even need to be LPZZ or DC related. SexyIce is my current fav new company and they feel and look great, way better than Japanese imports I've bought lately. Prices are high, but importing prices were already high and I feel like I'm getting more for my money.
>>11830331So $120 after shipping
>>11830520Where are you paying $45 for shipping? I pay $30 now, it'll be just over $100.>>11830507I will eventually, main thing deterring me is having to buy them from Aliexpress which I kinda hate using.
>>11830544Ali has saved me possibly thousands of dollars between sales, coupons and free shipping. I don't even get import-taxed on anything from them.
>>11830586LOL
Todd saving me more money. Look at the artificial spats on this one. She's even worse than the v1
Or you could enjoy an unpainted Poison Ivy for $35 which is far inferior to the figure whose tooling spawned it. Todd, what are you?
>>11830450Those scum shouldn't be allowed to post in these hallowed threads.
>>11830605These hallowed halls produced such stunning figures as Batgirl with incorrect boot color and diaper that is too small
90s Wonder Woman. Todd fucked up by not giving her a taco tray.
>>11830635these legs are loooooooooooooong
>>11830646Her head looks like a Barbie doll and its the same poorly sculpted and cut body. McFarlane Toys is out of ideas at how they can reuse their old molds.
>>11830598>>11830601>>11830646If anyone is still buying mcfarlane they are legit retarded

>>11830701I'd sculpt a Phantom Lady for Todd for free
>>11830729DC wouldn't approve it for being too sexy
>>11830739DC wouldn't approve it because only like six people actually care about Phantom Lady.
>>11830751Only 4 care about Saturn Girl and they made her
>>11830729I have made sure you’ll get a phantom lady Jarret. No troll threads or spamming after or you won’t see anything else I have on file for you. >(pictures of you by the cure plays in the background)
>>11830781Irrefutable proof of the leaker by giving the biggest troll his dream figure would be the funniest shit imaginable for /toy/. I’ve known you’re legit since the toxic killing joke truck but please for the love of god do this because it would be soooooo fucking funny.
>>1183064680s not 90sLooks better than the original CE WW atleast so I guess I'll buy it.
>>11830793Be sure to zoom in on the face so you can witness the horror they have transformed Wonder Woman into.
>>11830793Ok.
>>11830793Should've just bought Power Princess instead. It's a far better figure and will mix with Matt's line. I say this as someone who has a ton of Todd figures and only hates McFarlane now due to Platinums, price hikes and artificial scarcity.
>>11830781Sandra, Dee, or Stormy?
>>11830804That Poison Ivy headsculpt is horrifying
>>11830776I'm so glad Nightmaster and Black Condor got figures before Phantom Lady.
>>11830804>>11830830Todd hates women.
>>11830776Legion fags might not be the most vocal niggas around lately but they have their fans. In fact in the recent polls for DC Omnibus and Finest series Legion books placed higher than you might expect.
>>11830934She's neat. If her and the other Legion members' symbols were sculpted instead of decals I'd pick up the other two.
>>11830804>Wonder Woman looks like a Latina Medusa>Ivy looks like a chadTodd can't be done with this line soon enough.
Fondjoy is finally making comic based figures
>>11830394>pretty similar poseThe ab crunch is only 50% of what the LPZZ is doing and you have no neck articulation. I love my Knightfall Bats but don't be disingenious, it's about as close as a 10 POA is to the Mafex
>>11831141Lmao you lil guys are so over dramatic about everything
>>11831188If you can't be right and win arguments about toys as a grown man then how will you ever feel superior to people you'll never meet? I'd rather just punch people like they do in my funny books but eh, I'm a skinny old guy.

>>11831283for fucks sake. now that head just looks tiny on that huge Amazonian body, big hair notwithstanding
>>11831493Me. I’ve sold my mcfarlane collection at this point though. I wouldn’t mind having a 7inch placeholder while I wait for Mattel to do a collector nightwing. All of mcfarlanes versions were ass.
>>11831373Somebody fucked up the paint apps on the first. I had an Atom where the face details were applied slightly to the left and at first I thought it was side eye.
>>11831550I will buy EVERYTHING lanterns related that they put out in the kids line.
>>11831283I can’t wait for Mattel to show off their core WW

>>11831283What a handsome woman.
>>11831581
>>11831592
>>11831550I feel bad for the kids that get these who will be confused by a now almost decade old Rebirth suit that hasn't even shown up in a cartoon in forever and doesn't even look like the old Cavil suit. I was at an actual Walmart and (like Target) they are also still selling the SpinMaster Superman movie 12 inchers; I literally saw two Asian kids with their Dad (telling them they could each have two toys) pass by the Mattel's (well, to be fair, one of them grabbed the Batman) to reach for the Corensupes SpinMaster. This is while I was waiting for the clerk to show up to get me my discounted Darth Vader Blokees kit from the top shelf. They had sold out all the 6.5 DC Core line (which apparently is not called "CORE" but is called "Premier" for the DC toys? They had absolutely NO Toddler action figure shit in stock. Not even Fallout toys, or something else. There was one lonely McFarlane Marvel Rvials staction figure that I am pretty sure I had already seen at a Ross. The Target at the other end of the shopping center had plenty of McFarlane's but it was old peg warming Dark Archers, and Mirror Masters, although I did grab the blue Freddie Freeman. The regular toy section was full of Batman and they did have the Mattel 6.5s so I finally, finally picked up a Flash. I don't understand why y'all are so happy to order this shit on line. I also picked up some other MOTU stuff and you can clearly see differences (poorly painted eyebrows, for example) that would matter that isn't an issue because I picked out the specific piece of plastic crack I was taking home with me.
>>11831592Why isn't the dog smiling?
>>11831531>>11831493>>11831404>7 inch dc >fondjoyI'd consider FondJoy GLs and any Supes stuff.Don't think they will but liked to see Power Girl and Supergirl from FJ.And think someone should fucking FINALLY make a Lois Lane Super Woman figure, so why not the fucking Chinese import toy maker?

The Asian dad was younger than me, but way fatter, and I am positive I could outrun him.But just to prove your point, the one kid that didn't grab the Batman but also grabbed the Corensupes, took one of the Mattel Cringers until the dad told him he could have the Cringer but just one toy since it cost more than his brother was getting. So he took the Corensupes and some plastic vehicle (non-hot wheels) kind of thing that was $9.99.

Not surprised something like Larry Bird sold out in pre-orders but still expect some of the to peg warm and be at clearance endcaps at Target for like $5-10 or end up at Ross. These will make great civilian fodder, with just a little bit of kitbashing. And at 6 inches, they will scale well with other shit, unlike the Toddler's DCMV grease delivery system.>>11832056here you go, anon, sorry for my fuck up

I have seen what appears to be images of production line figures online so i assume they actually did make them so i hope theirs still a chance theyll show up at ollies at some point soon.I would have posted an image of the figures to go along with my post but posting images in my area is rangebanned again for some retarded reason

>>11832316Eh, what can you say? Todd is a sports nut and these will have a better chance of making the company money compared to phantom lady. You got your jack, don't be greedy and enjoy what you have.
>>11832333Phantom Lady would be another product in a line that already has a following, but yeah if I were Todd then the whole toy company would exist just so I could make my niche interests. If Todd makes an OJ Simpson for his Sports Maniacs line I'll buy it.

man why is this Fleischer Superman I just opened so much better than anything else he ever put out? the way the chest is cut+the longer elbow joints means he can pretty much fold his arms, wired cape, joints in general move more smoothly, head sculpt is great. this has to be one of the best in the entire line.

>>11833210read this instead of all that garbage you listed
>>11833194You know this question made me really think. It's kind of crazy that I don't think Superman has many Iconic story arcs that most people know about. He has Death and Return of Superman. That's it basically. Batman has all these iconic runs people always talk about, even some modern ones. Even some that are extremely polarizing but some love them, like War Games. But they are spoken of. So good or bad you have stuff like Knightfall, the Cataclysm and No Man's Land. Or the run with Court of Owls or the Death of the Family Joker ripping off his face run. This is ignoring event books that include other DC characters or JLA of course. I'm talking pure Superman comics. With Superman, I can only think of Death and Return and what else? And then there's arcs where Bendis shat all over the book but I don't even know what that story arc is called. N52 Supes was weird but not iconic. I don't get it. Where are the good, iconic Superman story arcs?
>>11833216>Says Kingdom Come is garbage>Suggests Superman and Swamp ThingWhat
>>11833194Superman has....comics?
>>11833218he’s been written by thousands of different people over almost 100 years and only about a dozen single issues are worth readinghalf of which are written by Alan Moore

>>11833219some of kingdom come is cool like pic relatedbut the ending is hokey af and the story itself skirts around the issues Moore confronted directly (and more realistically) in Miracleman
>>11833194I do, but it's hard to believe anyone else in these threads do because of how retarded they all are about basic bitch stuff that any comic reader should know.
>>11833218Casual detected. Superman has plenty of interesting storylines. Some of them are one offs though like For the Man Who Has Everything. But then you get 12 issue epics like All Star Superman, still the best modern Superman story written. Some are alt takes like Red Son. You also have the iconic John Bryne Superman run which many people consider the fundamental Superman origin story. There's Superman For All Seasons, Whatever Happened To the Man of Tomorrow, Up Up and Away, What's so Funny About Truth Justice and the American Way. All sorts of stories.
>>11828977that is just how he got the name. he had already long ago left Batman, and it was already established that he looked up to Superman and Superman is easy to talk to. so Dick was already planning on being his own hero but Supes helped give him the name
>no Hunter/Prey figure>no Kal figure>no Jor-El who lands in the 1770s and takes over the colonies and then the world figureSpeeding Bullets is still one of the coolest DC figures Todd made.
>>11833194I can't read. When will you all stop making fun of for that? >>11833214Some have suggested that our idea of fun thread culture is poopy doo doo.
>>11833249>>11833225It's weird how I never hear people talk about these but people go on and on about Death and Return
>>11833270Because most people are casuals.
>>11833270It's two different kinds of conversations. Superman's best stories are about characters and feel more like a Tennyson poem about Arthurian lore. For All Seasons is just Clark walking around talking to people in Smallville, trying to figure out if the whole Superman thing is even a good idea, then there's a flood and he helps some people. It's super low stakes and is about answering the call to action and stepping up to help people. Death and Return are in the same wheelhouse as Court of Owls and Death in the Family where it's just rushing to get to a fight, it's a just pro wrestling. What does Clark learn in the Death and Return arc? To not be dead? There's big splashy action but the character stuff is pretty light on its own unless you've put in the time reading the Triangle Era soap opera up to that point, but people only buy trades of the big Doomsday fight.Plus you have weird stuff like casuals thinking Superman is Jesus or something and projecting all this weird stuff onto the character that really doesn't exist in the comics.I think you never hear about them because people who like Superman comics are so used to conversations about the character being strange, exhausting experiences where things get lost in translation so we just let people talk about the Doomsday story.

>>11833416To continue and not make it more of a wall of text:>>11833344>why some of you are so vocal >when you don't even care about the charactersI do think ^ this anon has a fair point, but the problem with Todd and his designer's/sculptor's choices - where McFarlane often makes weird choices to be comic accurate ABOUT.The space dolphins from 52 were hilarious. I loath Lobo and what he represents in comic books but even I enjoyed that entire arc and the dolphins. So including them with the Lobo release is fun. Most toy buyers will have no fucking clue, HOWEVER, and not get it. Same as with Topo. I had no interest in Mamoaman as a toy, but since Aquaman is part of the toy characters I collect/am interested in, both the sea horse (which I decided was too fucking big for a display, even when it hit Ross Stores for $5.99) and Topo. But even movie fans had no fucking idea who Topo was but at least Todd included him because it was a movie reference and DC casuals could get that reference easily. Including Arthur's 5th dimension imp just confused most people. THAT's the issue with McFarlane's "actually looks" like the "source material" problem. And his execution, like the neck on Authority Superman looking nothing like Janin's shitty traced art.

Guys I’ve recently come to the conclusion that Batman is a terrible character inside a larger dc universe unless it’s something like the brave and bold animated series. Dark and gritty can only be stand alone. Superman is the best dc character for me after this realization. Maybe Superman really is punk rock.
>>11835420You think Silver Age Superman is worse just due to no sculpted symbol I bet
>>11835659Todd got scalpers interested in DC again
Superman, Wally West flash and Aquaman are the only good dc character.
>>11835930Nah G, plenty of characters can fit in the 'grim and gritty' environment of Gotham, it's really no more different than Batman in space or Batman as a god or whatever the fuck else Batman gets involved in. But there are quite a few non meta or meta adjacent characters or even meta curious character to flood the streets of Gotham, the problem is that they all became Batman characters. You see guys like Wildcat or Bibbo or Gangbuster or The Question in a Batman book then they almost kinda became Batman Family and loose what was interesting about them. Just my thoughts on the matter. But yeah, Brave and the Bold is a good idea and works well at showing the spotlight on other guys you might not want to read about.
>>11835948The Question, Zatanna, Constantine, Swamp Thing and Spectre beg to differ
>>11835950All that just to agree about brave and the bold
So what info should have have in the OP for the next thread?

>>11835941Silver Age Superman is a top five but yeah the flat S is lame, but the thick black outlines are the bigger issue. I'm saving opening him and the Action Comics reprint for the ten and twenty year anniversaries of the line ending. I might also sell them on ebay if they jump to something crazy. Silver Age Supes is like the last decent iconic no Jim Lee Hush bullshit version we'll ever get of the character. Personally I love the Gold Label Premium Digital Collectible nonsense all over the packaging, in a few years it'll feel even more dated and desperate. It's a timeless pop culture icon about independence who solves problems with his bare hands, surrounded by glyphs that show how far society is collapsing in on itself and everything is digital and soulless and remote. As an abstract piece of art it's hitting the same notes as Andy Worhol's work critiquing marketing and the concept of art as a product. I love it and I hate it.

What is going on with the scaling here
>>11835948>>11835957Jeez Louise, you people.

>>11836217The labels are indeed such desperation but they worked for awhile until gold labels and bad platinums began pegwarming
>>11836607How did they get away with that?
>>11836640It's not Starfire, it's a slutty waitress cosplaying as Starfire.

>>11836699Why don't corporations give people what they want?
>>11836704Idk, stock holders are real muscle behind corporations so we've got to in touch with them somehow. Is their a mattel stock holder discord we could join? Kinda put some ideas out there y'know, plant the seeds of sexy toys in the toy aisles. There has to be a degenerate gooner creep in their ranks somewhere.
