>Gourai II prototype
Probably stuck in development hell while they try to incorporate the newer hip/ass tech into her. Given what a chonker the mech is, making a Gourai even slightly thiccer than the OG version is probably proving a head scratcher.

What

No

They've always been a pain in the ass since the get go. Many people never saw base Rishetta until the revised version with the retooled neck and thighs. I'm pretty sure Tiasha and Luluce were both disasters too thanks to wuflu and the mess that was Luluce's face plate colors.

I'm fairly sure Ilshana and the twins still have poor distribution. Sestia is still a joke to acquire. Yufia is often astronomically priced. Micolulu is readily available, but way overpriced.

Fal is still cheap though. I do see Turkina's price jumping soon if she doesn't see a reprint soon.

Gundam has MS girl, Bandai did try before with their A.G.P line, last update was 2018.
>>
>>11829996
Definitely helps. Though, to be fair, if you just mod her to fit some Kotobukiya faceplates she's instantly fantastic since her only really downside is her faceplates just don't stand out at all. Rest of her is pretty nice.
>>
>>11830017
Which is hilarious when you think about it since mecha musume mobile suit designs have existed since shortly after the original show began. Other than some of the AGP figures from ages ago, and some of their REALLY bad Build Fighter girl kits, Bandai shockingly never really tried to do anything with the concept. They'll probably do some in the near future now that they've figured out how to do the whole girlpla thing.

the fuck? is there just one bigass runner in that box?
>>
>>11830204
If it's like any of their small Hexa Gear beast kits, then it's probably like, 4-6 mini runners. The width and length of the box could make sense IF it's around the thickness of an inch and a half or so, but anything bigger than that is going to be shit tons of wasted space.

This further cements my conspiratorial idea that Kotobukiya makes these big-ass boxes on purpose so filthy gajin will get fucked on international shipping costs

Anybody got experience with Plafia?
The product page/store listings mention this might need glue, is that true?
>>
So got my first MD yesterday from find my old shinkis in storage recently and yeah, it's pretty nice once I got it all built up and sanded but good lord there's a lot of excess parts left over. Kind of use to it with gunpla but not to this degree. Went with pretty chaos and Alice
>>
>almost end of june and still no Kagutsuchi reissue
They're going to stretch this shit like Soleil Moon Frye's training bra.
>>
>>11831233
You'll get that a lot, especially with kits that are from the same sub-line - it's not uncommon for entire runners from previous kits to get recycled only for the instructions to demand only a handful of parts from them. It's just cheaper for them to use what they already have instead of making entirely new molds for parts that are going to be engineered exactly the same anyway.
>>
File: m223_40.jpg (115 KB, 1257x700)
115 KB JPG
>>11831152
Shipping is determined mostly by weight though, not bulk. Unless the runners are extra thick, the larger box would accomplish nothing.

>>11831233
As the other anon pointed out, re-using existing molds is cheaper than designing new molds with that same part. Those molds cost probably tens of thousands of dollars to make, whereas the plastic that comes out of them are worth pennies. Look at Zoltan's Sinanju Ver. Ka for example, it's the fourth iteration of the same kit (Full Frontal's Sinanju -> White Sinanju -> Zoltan's Sinanju -> Zoltan's Sinanju Ver. Ka), there's so much shit left over from previous versions. The FAZZ is even worse, since it reprints the same runners from MG ZZ but in different colors.
>>
>>11831312
>Shipping is determined mostly by weight though, not bulk.
Depends on the shipment method/carrier chosen, I guess.
The price does balloon once a certain size threshold is passed.
>>
>>11831312
>>11831280
FAZZ has been on my radar for awhile now since taking a break from gunpla, any who looks like the extra parts are mostly the chaos and pretty witch, might go for that one next. Also kind of noticed the front paws for the rabbit are the wrong color after finishing up Alice here and comparing it to the pictures
>>
>>11830204
That entire box is for one (1) of those models? What a ripoff. I wouldn't complain if it was a decent size, but that thing is puny.

When using water slides for things like faces, is applying a topcoat afterwards generally seen as the way to go?
I soaked mine up in water, put Mark Fit Strong on the faceplates, applied the decals, and q-tipped them dry, and after a bit reapplied more Mark Fit and let them dry again. So, should I still topcoat them just to be on the safe side?

Given how short she is and thus none of the other girls sharing her body type, I would not count on it happening due to there being less compatibility and thus less incentive for anyone to buy a dress-up body of her size to swap heads with. A 1/12 third-party body might work if you can find one with the right proportions (flat-chested with the same end result height would probably be good enough), but that doesn't solve the issue of the clothes.
>>
>>11832033
They already made a dress-up body just for her, so 95% of the work is already done for them at this point. It would be a simple matter of giving it a nude crotch piece so she can wear panties like they did with Madoka's new body, then packing in her head, a few alternate hairstyles, and the doll clothes.

ECMS is down as a service for a lot of places in Japan for shipping to the US until they're sure they've got all their systems up to snuff for the new customs compliance. It'll be back.
>>11831689
>the way to go
It's ALWAYS the way to go for any decal, yes. Especially incredibly thin and delicate ones like Koto's. It's pretty easy to scratch or rub most hobby-grade waterslide decals off down the line without even trying. Heck, it's a good idea to gloss coat BEFORE putting the decals on because they adhere better to that than raw plastic most of the time.
>>
>>11832048
>ECMS is down as a service for a lot of places in Japan for shipping to the US until they're sure they've got all their systems up to snuff for the new customs compliance. It'll be back.
Thank goodness i figured as much, i dotn feel like paying a shitton for shipping this larger order.
>>
>>11832041
Yeah, I guess I should have realized that since the Medium dress-up body seems to be designed to fit everyone one grade higher than her. My guess though, is they'll probably prioritize Large first since that fits a bigger proportion of the girls (Kuon, Seira, etc.). I can definitely see them eventually redoing these dress-up bodies for each of the types that already exist, it's just a question of which girls and clothes they're going to include.

I do kind of wonder how they're doing the underwear though. Every underwear type I can find for 1/12 scale or thereabouts on Ali has a consistency closer to diapers, they're too dense and wide to actually fit underneath a skirt. I guess if Koto are designing both the body and the underwear in-house, it's going to effectively be a custom fit whereas third-party shit has to worry about differently-sized bodies and such.
>>
>>11829841
I thought the Kagutsuchi Sniper custom is the expanded version of Kou. That's why I chose not to buy the regular version since the Sniper equipment is designed for the Kou while the Otsu is designed with the Fencer equipment.

Anyway, between each Rebuild Asuka and Rei, which brand has the better kit between 30MP, Blokees, or PLAMATEA?

From what I understand of Kagutsuchi's development in gundam terms Kou is basically a gm quell to gourai's gm. The Otsu's Fencer and Sniper are alternative custom units.

As for the fag version, they are all separate distinct characters.
>>
>>11832072
The 30mp to me looks the best

The plamatea will be the easiest to get

And the blokees will be the best for handling and poses.
>>
>>11832876
Kagu isn't a modified gourai, the analogy falls flat. The gm quel would be like...zenrai, or assault zenrai. And then ryurai kai world be the gm cannon.
>>11832072
Sniper and fencer are both otsu(2). Kou(1) is the basic machine - the first attempt to make it not job against hresvelgr was the otsu(2) sniper version, doubling down on kagu being heavily armored and being able to carry Big Guns by giving it more armor and a bigger gun to try popping birds at a safe distance, and tank any shots that got through - the fencer was a custom model tweaked for CQC through pilot feedback. And then there's the kagu hei(3) which instead tries to not job to hres by flying at mach fuck by replacing the lower body with a booster that's basically an entire second mech dedicated to thrust.
For a girl maybe they'd give her an airbike or something.
>>
>>11832965
I'm under the impression that gm quels are produced by the titians with a whole different production line totally removed from anything the federation or anaheim were doing. The gm quel may externally look like a gm custom, but internally it is totally different, and the looks are purely superficial.

The analogy was more to say that Gourai is a basic unit like a gm and Kagutsuchi is a new(er) generation unit based off gourai data built by a different contractor.

I'm tempted to get her - she's cute, comes with a ton of stuff, and apparently isn't a "premade" character, meaning she's a blank slate for personality and backstory.
... Someone talk me out of it. I really don't have the space for her...
>>
>>11832072
30MP is overall the best, looks the best and scales better with most other stuff, only issue might be getting them, but theres second hand and I have no doubt Bandai will reissue them, plus 30MS compatiblity
PLAMATEA's faces are too round and off model, but like others said, easy to get
Blokees look fine but they're really big, really more 1/10ish scale, but you can get a cockpit set with Marie which is a bonus so if you want all 3 or just that and isn't planning to display them with other figures they can work fine.
Posted pic to illustrate just how big the Blokees is, the smallest is the SHF with 30MP in the middle

True, though Wolf at the very least seems to be getting tied to Megalomaria for some reason - her dress-up body has her underwear colored specifically to match Penetrator (who she's been paired with since her initial release) and literally comes with an assault rifle, which is...very much not something an average Highshcooler would be carrying. She may not have an explicit backstory, but it's pretty clear there's more to her than "Girl in charge of managing afterschool club activities" or "bratty Mesugaki in need of correction".
>>
Also, new Koto Shop exclusive Emulator (Riding Package) just dropped. She comes with a motorcycle and a pair of pistols.
>>
>bought $40 worth of doll clothes on Ali a couple weeks ago
>they arrived before the ~$100 order I made at the beginning of the month, which are either stuck at customs or only just recently arrived stateside
>one of the clothing sets was advertised as 1/12 scale but is labelled as 1/8 scale on the package, guess I'll find out if I got screwed over or not
>the set of knee-length boots was actually in 1/6 scale and thus completely worthless unless I get into the Grande Scale ecosystem, but they cost $2 so no big loss
>the rest are pretty much as advertised, overall a pretty good purchase since there were a total of 10 clothing pieces/sets

I'm still kind of irked that there are no good low-cost underwear options for 1/12 scale that aren't just sticking waterslides onto the naked body. Like, you would think that with all the skirts and dresses that are being made, someone would have come up with a solution that doesn't look like sports bloomers made out of felt.

>i kind of dont dig the pink hair, how compatible is emulator with ssj/md/fag hair?
The Emulators are completely compatible with SST hair - all of them are already using different colored versions of preexisting SST hairs.
>also, aren't megalomaria and ssj different scales?
They're roughly the same size, and their heads are swappable by design - you have plenty of pics of SST characters' heads and bits attached to Megalomaria characters, and vice versa.

Blade just likes to draw variations on the Puni Mofu designs, since he did the artwork for them initially. So not all of them are necessarily getting produced, he just liked to draw lolis. And bid tiddies. And loli versions of big tiddy girls. Etc., etc. In short, he's very based.

I've only skimmed it but it looks like a surprisingly cool guide actually. I thought it'd be mostly lists of gear and stuff (which there is, and is marked in a separate color of paper so you can flip to it quickly) but there's also a lot of actual info and strategy in it.
I really like the Rail Action section in particular. Rather than just list all the actions it's got mappings of what the routes too which is cool.

I loved this game, and played it to death until my PSP finally kicked the bucket; even hacked most of the DLC into the game (I think the file I had was only missing the last two waves of stuff). It was great actually being able to "play" with most of the Shinki I owned IRL (except for the recolors, though some of their weapons made it into the game).
And I still want an official Justice, even if they made her into a kit.

She's color C, and there is a dress-up body [S] in color C already that came out earlier this year. Pick one up and you're all set. There's even a smaller chest part to keep Emma's proportions, instead of the slightly bustier dress-up body design.

This was my experience buying it off of Ali. I got free shipping and a decent discount using their monthly "sales" coupons, the only problem was the product taking over a month to arrive (you may have seen my bitching and whining about it in past threads), and the package itself being semi-damaged due to the cheap shipping (which I don't really care all that much about since the contents were perfectly protected).

If you're not paying about this amount for it, including shipping and taxes, you're probably getting ripped off. The only problems are that Ali shipment for large packages takes forever, and the package will likely get dinged up a bit during shipment.

hmm it's 8k yen on HLJ. if i were to ship it via surface (which lately i do anyway since all new kits go on the backlog) and with taxes, it'd come out to around 80€. so not too different in price. on aliexpress they're all around 130€ currently. if gundamit still had it in stock i'd order there for a similar price, just to not having to bother with the customs office (gay retards)

I wonder how different pricing and shipping are for Europe, because I found two for $85 USD with free shipping. Starward (or "Wings of Stars", under the proper translation) is pretty fun. It's a free-to-play Gundam Extreme Versus clone, but with cute mechamusumes instead of giant robots. There are no "pay to win" characters - the game is surprisingly well balanced so that even common characters can beat the rare ones from the gacha with minimal effort; you can spend money on cosmetics or for tickets for the event gachas, but the game is very generous with its free currency, so you don't really need to drop a penny on it if you don't want to.
To tie this back to /toy/, there have actually been some crossovers that are relevant here - Animeister's Galahad and upcoming Nether Dragon Shadow Blade Galahad are both in the game right now as a collab event, and Animester is making the character Sky Saber into a model kit for their end of the collaboration (which is nice, but I hope they do my wife Rhine as well, pic related). You just missed the Black Rock Shooter collab, which had both her and Dead Master, and I joined too late for the Frame Arms Girls collab that had Gourai Kai, Stylet, and Baselard.

I'll say this, part of what makes some of these koto boxes so massive is the 3d molding of the parts. Megalomaria and sousai both receive bigger than normal boxes very often because the hair runners need three to four times the space of comparably sized kits. Emulator isn't a large kit, but she has significantly more pieces than either of those kits, even with said pieces being smaller that leads to more runner space and a bigger box. Plus she comes with an older msg weapon, and those runners are designed to be bag packed and are often way more robust than necessary for comparably sized boxed kits.

No where near as egregious as winter Ritsuka. Her box is 80% air.

Been ages since I've done any actual work on girlpla (blame my ADHD and having only recently gotten my hobby cave properly set up again), but I finally got around to topcoating the right leg for Mao here. The matte coat 100% improved the look of the thing and made the hand-applied touchups to the stripes invisible against the airbrushed paint, which is nice! Of course, my masking skills are still atrocious and you can kinda tell, and like a retard I used the POM ankle joints, but I can't face potentially messing the whole thing up trying to fix it further now, and the ankles are barely noticeable anyway so whatever.
That said I gotta decide what colour to do the other stocking. I am NOT doing that masking job again, and I wanted an asymmetrical look anyway. I'm torn between painting it red (and repainting any other pink on the kit with red) or just shading + topcoating the pink and adding some minor details with decals or brushwork to make it more interesting to look at.
FWIW this will have a few minor kitbashed elements, notably the skirt and a few other bits from a tragically borked Chaos and Pretty Magical Girl, and spare spikes from Krakendress Rania.

>your Rhine is really the type of what im looking for she looks amazing
She really is great, especially when you see her all armored up - gameplay-wise, she's a ranged fighter, so she uses her fast maneuverability to play keep-away while hitting enemies with bullets, lasers, and walls of missiles; her gimmick is that her weapons "evolve" as she uses them, getting stronger, firing more projectiles, and creating big AOE splash damage as time goes on. Appearance-wise, she's basically a grown-up version of Arcanadea's Gii, but with mecha armor on her (the tail and horns are real, though - you can see her de-armored in the menus and home screen). She's a strong fighter if used right, and personality-wise is one of the more popular characters with the fans (they even gave her a wedding dress as an outfit in-game, and features in some merch), so there's that.
Anyway, I think she'd make a good Girlpla kit, too, and since the game featured two characters from Animester, it would be nice if Animester did her as a second character for their collab, once they finish Sky Saber.
>>
>>11837791
Yeah, I'd buy a kit of that, backlog be damned. Hopefully they'd work in some ab crunch somehow though.
>>
>>11837828
>Hopefully they'd work in some ab crunch somehow though.
Well, Sky Saber looks like she's got the same hip connection as their Galahad, which in turn uses the same hip style as most Megami Devices (i.e. the "panties" method), so if they did Rhine as well, she'd likely end up with the same thing.
>>
>>11837691
The stripes look pretty alright, I don't think there's an easy way to ever do them.
>>
>>11838025
Thanks man, I appreciate that; was my first attempt doing something that tricky. I'm bad at masking at the best of times, but this was a nightmare. I did tidy back up with AK acrylic markers, which blended in perfectly with the surrounding paint under the mattecoat so could be worse.
>>
>>11837691
Looks fine for a first attempt, anon. Though, poor Mao looks confused as all get-out.
>>11838033
What steps did you do for masking anyways? Did you do it the easy way? Aka just painting the entire part in one half of the pattern's colors, giving it a quick light and thin gloss coat for protection, masking it off, doing the other half of the color, and then your final topcoat?

Yeah, that's exactly what I did, though I don't recall if I used the intermediary clear coat. The problem I had was mostly very slight paint bleed under the masking tape where I thought I'd got it applied firmly enough, but...obviously I had not. I was using proper Tamiya as well. Maybe the paint was a bit too thin, maybe I hadn't properly pressed the tape down, who knows.
I will say at the very least the pain was entirely self-inflicted from me wanting to do something different, as the base kit is very well colour-separated.

>please look at real women
Modern women are all obese, bro, or overweight at the very least. They've gotten incredibly good at mooching off of simps over the past few decades, so now they're all fat and lazy. There once was a time when slim and sporty was the ideal look, but nowadays chicks have realized they don't need to put in the effort to make themselves look good to attract a sugardaddy who'll cater to their every need for the rest of their lives.
And back on topic to Kagutsuchi - she's fat, as are her two sisters. It's part of why she looks so awkward, since a girl that bloated shouldn't have such small tits - it's not how female fat distribution works, and it makes it look like someone smashed together the top and bottom of two unrelated kits to make her.

Finally got a Siesteh.
Damn, you guys weren't lying about the ankle being a bit bad. Possibly could be solved by sanding the foot peg so the connection is a bit looser, but I'd rather have deal with the annoyance of it popping off occasionally during posing and have her stand securely.
I'm hating the rubbery face-plates, it's so hard to sand or scratch imperfections like flash.
Otherwise, I'm really liking her - the design is sexy-cool, and the weapons are neat.
I like that you can move the slide back on the gun.
>>
>>11838740
The ankle falls apart because the connection between the leg and foot is tighter than the joint itself.

You can fix the ankle falling apart by making the 3mm pegs a little looser, and applying a tiny lip of super glue around the far outside edge of the peg that makes up the joint itself.

What do you mean the faceplates are rubbery? They are the same kps as the rest of her?
>>
>>11838753
>What do you mean the faceplates are rubbery?
Compared to the rest of the plastic in the kit, the face plates feel sort of rubbery - more flexible and not as rigid.
Bandai seems to love experimenting with their materials.

They are very annoyingly exclusive to Koto's online store, so you've either got to try and get them through a middleman or 2nd hand via Mandarake or Suruga-ya. I really wish they would just open their Online store to international orders, especially for stuff with small runs like the Tiny Closet clothing.

Still find it funny as hell that Sitara got two full Megami Device kits, two full desktop army kits, multiple recolors of both of those, two official conversion kits for her megami device kits and a half dozen statues, yet Kaede couldn't have her full team in one scale, let alone her sister.

Yeah its a kind of a remake, but its complicated. When Iceberg designed the first beetle girl (top images in >>11842361 ) he was working for Bigfirebird. They ended up getting rid of him halfway through, hiring someone at Goodsmile company and changing the design to (bottom left). Most notably removing the anime eyes and covering up the crotch. Now he's collaborating with Quankai Studios where the newest version will be a 3-in-1 model kit based off their Gene Cross body. While it isn't a restoration of the original design, this will be the first version that has his 100% involvement. He did their Mantis girl kit as well.

>this Seven Deadly Sins Greed is apparently already on the plane a week after the vendor shipped it

Is... this normal? I don't know if "International flight has departed" is any different from "Package leaving origin country/region," but since this vendor baked about $35 of the item cost into the shipping, does this mean that they actually paid for more than bottom-of-the-barrel shipping for this thing? Purportedly it's the size of a PG kit box, which would definitely make it a "oversize goods" as far as Ali is concerned.

I really hope there's more to her than just this - for one, I didn't even recognize her as Durga without her armor. I suppose if they sell her for around the same price as the SST Dress-up bodies, she can work as a "blank", but even those come with two bodies to make up for the lack of accessories.

Yup. Apparently Ali are capable of sending you these big box kits without leaving them sitting somewhere for a couple weeks. So this turned out to be pretty damn nifty. Not only was the package actually designed like a gift box, but a bunch of the labelling and such were in-theme with the lore, even including stuff like the tamper stickers. That'll get you it, yeah, but from what I can tell there's only three vendors selling it, and the cheapest you'll probably find is in the $25 USD range (split between item cost and shipping). Finally got my hands on Sourei and Shuremi.
They're definitely a peak of Bandai's 30MS designs so far.

My only gripe is with Sourei - the Oni mask/armor hinders her arm movements greatly when it's on her, and the katana is kinda loose in her grip.
The oni mask has a tab to insert it into a 30MS head core in stead of bangs.

If I were nitpicking, then Shuremi's hair is a bit clunky - the whole bottom half below the scalp is a single piece (as standard for bandai and long hair.) There's also like two seams on the torso, but they're not obvious.

I still recommend both - they introduce a lot of cool pieces for kitbashing like horned hair, a big arm bands, thigh straps, unique shoes and those awesome kimono sleeves.

I mean, it should be pretty easy to make a vague, indistinct bulge out of blu-tack or whatnot. Even easier to make him a female, though - his chest plate should be compatible with all the previous Kemopla releases, so you can slap one of the Khao Manee's boob plates on instead of his custom chestpiece and call it a day, no modifications required.

Is it? From what I can tell both Kuon school uniforms have slightly purple hair, while Maria Dress Code's is a bit on the purple side. Damaged Kuon and the new Cheerleader Kuon both look like they're closer to pure black, which the original hime is kind of close to. It's hard to tell if the different shading is due to lighting though, because otherwise it looks like the only other major difference is the color of the bow.

Excluding a few clothing pieces that are being held hostage by customs (about half of which I've successfully gotten refunds for), I've managed to procure a pretty decent wardrobe for my girls. Like, yeah, the total cost of all this clothing probably almost equals that of the kits, but the interchangeability gives them really good long-term value.
