Got tired of waiting so I made the new thread myself. Anyway, I collected some of the Twin Mill II and III series cars, all in working order. Still annoyed about the busted Twin Mill II >>11828915 but at least it makes for a cool paperweight.
>>11830384Twin Mill II was so ugly.
I got the Rain-X GR Corolla recently. I find it strange that it's part of a series called "Slide Street" when it's a 4WD rally car and the set has more appropriate drift cars like the S14.
>>11831113*Deora II
i just got these in the mail... first time getting one with interchangeable parts!
Mach Speeder feels incredible in the hand, very light. The other two cars I only found one of each but there were 3 other Mach Speeders and I believe I selected the one with the best tampo job.
>>11831492That's a cool feature. Do you paint these?
>>11831147>when it's a 4WD rally carI doubt the marketing people know a damn thing about cars, much less the 9001 different varieties & categories of race car. Here's my favorite dumb packaging.>HW Turbo>even has a little picture of a turbo on it so they can't play dumb like they don't know what a turbocharger really is.The Cadillac GTP car does NOT use a turbo. It has a 5.5L normally aspirated V-8.
>>11832006Isn't it a hybrid?
>>11831147I decided to do some research on the real Rain-X Gr Corolla and was surprised to find out that it doesn't even use the same engine or drivetrain as a real Gr Corolla. It has a turbocharged I6 (BMW B58 engine, same engine used in the 5th gen Supra/BMW Z4) and a 4 speed transmission, RWD only. It's livery and bodykit are designed to give a rally-like appearance, but it's a proper drift car.https://youtube.com/watch?v=9pLiV4MdfqM&t=2m20s
>>11832220Oh well there you go. I've always heard the GR Corolla is kind of a monster of a car in general anyway.
>>11831958paint? i don't follow... honestly i'm a bit of an autist when it comes to diecast, i've never opened one (unless the box comes damaged)
>>11832296Never mind then. Part of me wishes I didn't have to open mine either but I just can't get the full enjoyment if I haven't manipulated it. It's a catch 22.
>mattel pulls out a stagea (Elite64)>can front swap>it's the same old overplayed "bro it's gee tee aww but wagon XDDD" joke>the RS Autech tuned by Nismo is just an obsure legendary tale that only exists in Gran Turismo from early 2000sWhy?! Why can't i have anything of it besides some pixels and only a fee low res pictures from a forgotten forum? Moreover what's with the roof box thing?I see many put them on as if it's a super-cool, stylish performance mod
>>11832205>Isn't it a hybrid?Yes, but that doesn't have anything to do with how the combustion engine breathes.
>>11826829Nissan still in progress. Swapped front is now completely seamless and removed plate from the bumper. Widebody next.
Weekend haul
>>11833825The supra , the corvette and the miata are cool , sucks that they dont paint the lights ( i paint mine )
>>11833385looking foreard to see the final result>>11832296>i've never opened onewhy tho? not saying you have to play with it or toss it around, but not even touching it, never, sounds silly to me. At that point just print a poster of it and call it a day or stick to vidya, same result and cheaper too.Not saying it in a derogatory manner, just curious as why is it
>>11833825The Chimera Miata is a hell of a thing.
>>11833825the supra looks xboxhuge
>>11834032I've liked most of the legends tour winners, but I think the Volvo gasser and the miata chimera are my favorites. I hope they stay in rotation for a while, I'd like to see them get some other fun decos.
>>11834068I have a soft spot for arguably the poster boy of the Legends Tour
WTF is happening? I held off selling my extra one a few months ago when it was going for about $50. Why the sudden jump? Was it the movie? i guess I should sell now. I already have one openened.
I found an eBay seller selling lots of 3s and 4s for crazy low and they combine shipping on top of that. I grabbed two since that price is better than other sellers are offering for only one car and even got a 20% discount at checkout. What a bro.
>>11833926Painted mine too, doing a pretty shit job with the Sharpie... but I don't even care because it still looks better than it did before.
>>11834257get some alcohol and wipe the smudge off
>>11834259Worked great, thanks!
Where to get spare parts for a Welly 1/24 car? ebay isn't helping much.
>>11834257I have my warhammer painting stuff I use the vallejo red metallic for the red lightI paint the headlights blackAnd i use 4 different shades of metal and silver for the headlightsWith the smallest brushes from the army painters (the psycho or the insane details)That would be my bare minimum with good result setup you can buy at a tabletop hobby store
>>11834010i guess it's the sense of ownership, knowing that is there is good enough for me, and if i ever want to open them they'll be there. there's some fear of degradation too; i played with these acceleracers when i was a kid but they're quite busted up now because of that
Aw dang it, I missed that this was here before I made mine, I ctrl+f'd "dcg" not "diecast". It DID seem weird that there hadn't been a /dcg/ for this long. Whoops. Here's today's haul, I found that '66 Dodge 330, it's as awesome as that other anon said. I like the Jag the most out of these though, it's quite a nice casting too.The Aston and the Toronado are both metalflake as well, which I always like to see.>>11833825Nice haul, I want that Soopra. And that Porsche.>>11834032Yeah it's one of my favourite builds. I kinda wish mine was in the original colours, as nice as the lime green is. Oh well, still cool.>>11834539Could be worse, Battle Spec still looks good, as does Shirako's ride and the orange one, which I forgot the names of. And the white one with the flames, which I don't think was ever in the show with that paint job, or in the show at all? I don't remember seeing it.
>>11834759>I like the Jag the most out of theseDefinitely a huge fav of mine over the past couple of years. Dunno if it's ever come up before, but the folks at Hot Wheels must be keeping an eye on the Goodwood Racing Club, because a good number of the new castings they've made recently have been featured in races here: the Mk1, Lotus Cortina, Alpha Romeo Giulia, Lotus type 49, the Austin mini S, even the Beast of Turin was featured. Many of the decos even seem to be specific homages to cars raced on their course.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t5VO2OGpXMI also just recommend you check out this channel if you like the idea of watching professional drivers race the fuck out of antiques. I find it extremely entertaining. There's a huge difference between seeing these cars in photos or at a show, vs. watching them go sideways around a corner. Hoping Hot wheels takes even more inspiration and does a 58 T-bird soon. I can't believe they don't already have one.
>>11834539>some fear of degradation tooSometimes it's fun to rough up a car a little bit. I've been keeping this little Honda at work or in my coat pocket for the past year or two just because it's fun to vroom around when I'm bored. Sometimes I come across a perfect impromptu ramp and can't resist sending this little guy careening. The scuffs and scrapes are charming in their own way, I think.
>>11835022I let my grandma's kitten play with my yellow Lambo so the little scuff marks remind me of her. I think I like it better now because of them.
Discovered a new brand and I'm in love.
>>11835296The amount of details is basically HW premium level but with much better prints and details - note unique Dodge rim design and black window outaline.
>>11835298Working suspension, side mirrors and true 1:64 scale - Hot Wheels or Matchbox Challengers are way underscaled, they are too tiny. This CCA Dodge is almost perfect.
>>11835299It's basically something between Mini GT and HW. Solid enough to play with and plastic wheels to put in on track but also so well detailed no shame to park it next to Mini GT models. Love this CCA brand.
>>11835305Probably top3 best Dodge Challenger cast, right behind Greenlight and Tarmac.
It's not "in season" yet, but is there a list of what Halloween cars with the special packaging Hot Wheels has done? I don't do the die-cast cars much, but the packaging is always so spectacular, I pick up an example every year. I first found them at a Dollar General in 2019.
