Takara Tomy finally found their cash cow so they're not going to nerf Shark Scale, directly or indirectly.
Hasbro can't get Shark Scales in stores, but they sure can get their newest Marvel garbage on the shelves without any problem.
Walking out of the toy aisle of Walmart with a new haul likehttps://youtube.com/watch?v=TmPLDKjn4EA
Finally caved and bought a Wizard Rod(green one). Now, all I need is a Hexa bit.
>>11830920i stop paying attention to BBX for a year and there's angels now? did bird finally win yet?
>>11832082So far, his only win is his 100-star victory where Lantz threw the game. Outside of that, he's only been able to tie with him.
>>11832087HOW is that still his only win. That's where I left off. Holy shit
>>11830920All I want is a Dran Strike, and they're sold out everywhere
>>11832178Things are looking pretty bleak right now. Even the stadiums are sold out everywhere.
>>11832178>>11832520This is SpinCity, by the way. I don't think Dran Strike is worth $50 though.
>>11832520is this because the SEA market is gobbling everything up or has it caught on crazy in the West yet?
>>11832589>is this because the SEA market is gobbling everything upPart of it. >or has it caught on crazy in the West yet? It's slowly getting bigger, but it's not fad craze level or anything. The shortages are a combination of resellers buying out physical stores and using bots to do it online, and actual players who need the good releases. Everything is getting bought up from all sides. It's also that Takara Tomy said themselves that they didn't anticipate such high demand for product and that they'd ramp up production to try and solve shortages. Hasbro's lack of new releases is just them being morons.
>>11832720it became viral in Hong Kong and Taiwan that they are now flying abroad to scalp everything! i can still see SIlver Wolf, Cock Mirage and Pegasus from time to time back then, but nowadays only thing you can see are the shitty beys and the Hasbro collabs. for some reason though, i NEVER saw our local toy stores stock the Shark Scale set!
>>11833211>for some reason though, i NEVER saw our local toy stores stock the Shark Scale set!same, I sense corruption is at playsomeone's getting rich off of withholding retail releases
>>11833278>someone's getting rich off of withholding retail releasesthere's that saying that you shouldn't attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence. hasbro is just ran by a bunch of retards, that's why you never see anything in stores. I know my local stores are still flooded with cerberuses and leon fangs and even the green wizrods, which really just continues the usual trend I've always noticed (starters are consistently stocked while single packs only ever seem to get one shipment per store and then they're gone forever)
>>11833319for real though, that's how distributors make fat fucking stacks off of shit that would be cheap if they didn't bottleneck the whole god damn supply to US markets. Market manipulation is a requirement to make it big.
>>11830920Someone redpill me on 2026 beybladeMy experience with this franchise is mainly being a kid in the early 2000s and i vividly recall how mysterious and almost adult the "real" official beyblade toys of that generation were when my best friend at the time finally bought the draciel kit back from the capital and was going to be the first one from our group with an actual real beyblade, and then probably 5 years from then it seemed like nobody cared that much anymoreApparently the brand is still going pretty strong since I even find beyblades at basic ass supermarkets nowadays? It doesnt seem like theres some one main "line" though so which ones are supposed to be the "good" ones? My interest was slightly sparked when I saw a pic on twitter that seemed to have something related to a bunch of the original designs I remember from the series (dragoon and draciel etc)
>>11832720>address shortages by ramping up poroduction>only overproduces the shitter beys, while keeping the Shark Scale scarcegood job!
>>11833365Beyblade had a bit of a slowdown in sales, during the 2000s and Takara would try a few gimmicks, with the last one being HMS. HMS would suffer poor sales, that Takara would wind up ending "Bakuten Shoot!" and rebooting the series with "Beyblade Evolution Cross Arms". However, Takara would get bought out by Tomy, around this time, and the restructuring of the company cancelled Cross Arms prematurely, putting the franchise on hiatus for a few years.Takara Tomy would reboot the franchise in 2008 with "Metal-Fight Beyblade"("Beyblade: Metal Saga" in the west). Like Bakuten Shoot, before it, it would receive massive popularity. However, unlike the former, a decision by Takara Tomy, regarding the anime, would cause a ripple effect that would lead the series to its eventual death in 2012. Hasbro would try to squeeze more year out of it, but the damage was already done.In 2015, Takara Tomy would release the next generation called "Beyblade Burst", with the selling point being that the beys were designed to burst into pieces. This gen would end up being the biggest series in whole franchise, lasting a total of eight years. However, Burst was only good if you lived in Asia as Hasbro, who apparently learned nothing from Metal-Fight, went full retard with the whole generation, forcing western players to either pay high shipping fees for Takara Tomy parts or get royally fucked by their bullshit for eight years. Because of this, I still say Burst was the worst generation.
>>11833770Which brings us to Beyblade X. Released in Japan, back in 2023, Beyblade X is the current generation. They had basically took everything about the previous gens and turned them on their heads. A new win condition, known as an "Xtreme Finish", was added where you have to knock your opponent into a specific exit zone to earn more points. Assisting with this is the "Xtreme Line", which is a rack rail designed to catch the teeth of the bey's bit, in order to send them hurdling toward their opponent at high speed. The meta's a bit of a mess, right now. There are no defense types due to Takara Tomy nerfing every defense part to oblivion(The best defense combo doesn't use a single defense part) and stamina types are dominated by Wizard Rod, leaving attack and balance types with the most variety. X is also suffering from issues with beys getting scalped, the recent SEA boom, and Hasbro's shitty distribution causing bladers to miss out on competitive parts(the competitive also not helped by Hasbro shoving garbage parts into every single release). Still, we are in X's third year, and only time will tell if the series will continue from here.
i wonder if Takara even acknowledges Beywheels and Beywarriors.
>>11833770>>11833776Alright thanks for the breakdown because I was definitely getting confused by all the different lines
>>11833770What anime decision during MFB caused its death?
>>11833910I remember those airing in Canada it was a weird time. I don't think they even have Japanese dubs and are something they probably want you to forget existed..
>>11833770>Beyblade Evolution Cross ArmsThat's stupid amounts of toyetic. Too much toy.
>>11833776>Accel and Spike instead of two Gear Balls
>>11833776>>11834422look man as shitty as it is, I get why they cheap out and use the -X5 ratchets. but why the fuck are they so insistent on gear ball for everything? I'm not even mad at this point just deeply confused.
>>11834236Cutting the remaining MFB episodes in half lead to Hasbro creating Beywheelz and Beyraiderz as filler.
>>11834413to be fair, Beyblade is a toy. they only started going serious with it with Beyblade X
So wait, where is a newcomer supposed to buy beyblades from atm? It seems like theres supply issues even in places where theyre supposed to be sold at offline and nearby at chains like wallmart? I looked at the prices for some of the new models that Im interested in like bahamut blitz and strike dran and they seem to be around the 45-55e range before shipping which supposedly isnt anywhere near their retail price?
>>11832098I mentioned this in the last thread, but Bird recently won by default against one of Zero's children, Six. The condition was Bird had to win only once and could rematch an infinite amount of times. Six is terrible at Beyblade so he dedicated most of his life to raw launch power. Bird eventually started catching up to and matching Six in strength as they kept battling so before the latter could actually lose, he quit.So by technicality Bird does in fact have a win to his name that isn't a tie.

>>11834882>It seems like theres supply issues even in places where theyre supposed to be sold at offline and nearby at chains like wallmart? It a combination of scalpers and Hasbro's garbage distribution that's keeping meta beys from the hands of western bladers. The only competitive beys you're going to reliably find at Wally World is Wyverrn Hover, and that's only because scalping it would be retarded. Otherwise, if you don't care about the meta, you should still be able to find some beys at any place that would sell them. Just don't expect too many good finds.>I looked at the prices for some of the new models that Im interested in like bahamut blitz and strike dran and they seem to be around the 45-55e range before shipping which supposedly isnt anywhere near their retail price? Those beys aren't out in the states, yet.

>>11835039>New bey leaks from hasbro allowed tournament beys guidelinethat's crazy so many new Beyblades got revealed this way
>>11834812Lol beyblade x could not be less serious, bakuten shoot was highly engineered model kit battling tops with creative gimmicks and so much depth in parts, systems, customization, battling.
Remember when new starters were $25? I can't believe things have gotten so bad in just a year's time.
Saw that evo had a beyblade side tournament with custom beyblades as prizes and it got me wondering, what's the limit on beyblade customization before it's considered too much for fair play? Obviously doing shit like sticking bits of tungsten on the inside to add weight is out of the question, but surely a light primer layer and hand brushed paint isn't enough to really impact how a bey performs, right?
