>figure has double jointed knees or elbows>the second joint always moves before the first joint when you bend its limbs
>pose figure in the exact and very specific way you want to display it>except for a tiny movable part you forgot>moving said part requires manhandling the entire figure and completely undoing the pose
>>11833253>>figure has double jointed knees or elbows>>the second joint always moves before the first joint when you bend its limbsThis is every Gundam figure made after 2010. I also don't need three mid-shin joints just to bend a knee 45 degrees.
>>11833253>bump one figure>domino knock 5 others over
>>11833253Figure has high heels.Cannot stand on its own.Retard designer made heels from bendy plastic instead of metal.Create good looking figure.Make it seamless.Skin cracks and rips in places after 2years.
One of my toy pet peeves, gummy joints. I'm looking at you popular domestic action figure brand. Pic very related.
>people that don't understand that there's more that goes into a body action like a punch than a single arm.
>>11833253>figure has lots of different hands featuring every hand pose you can think of, but no grabbing hands because it's not explicitly a weapon user
>figures that have trigger fingers but no guns.Looking at you Multiverse. Yes, I know it was a WB order.
>>11833602
Torso articulation can side tilt but can barely bend forward and backward
Toe articulation.
>>11833253>a lot of modern 1/12 import action figures are moving away from having a peg hole in the back that directly pegs into a figure stand so you have to use a claw stand>even if a figure needs a claw stand and includes a claw stand, a lot of times the included claw stand is basically useless because the claw they gave you is too small and/or weak to hold the figure
>That obscure character I want is finally getting a high quality figure>It's in the wrong scale with the rest of my collection Endless suffering
This bothers me a lot>Sonic X DC literally a dream crossover for me>at this point jakks knows most people buy modern sonic stuff in 4inch size and classic sonic in 2.5 inch because they scale relatively well together >Crossover is all modern sonic>Crossover figures only available in 5 inch and 2.5 inchI can’t pose flash sonic next to a good quality flash because he is gonna be too small or too big the perfect size was 4 inch
>>11833999The movie figures have this problem too, it pisses me off
>>11833253>character known for biting things>
>>11833406This happened to me once and I still went to move it, then the figure exploded. Never mess with that one tiny problem. It isn't worth it...
Most of the things mentioned here aren't even pet peeves, it's just something straight up annoying. It's almost like none of you understand the meaning of the term.
>>11834294Something annoying to one person may not be annoying to another. Therefore, a pet peeve. We're not autistic enough to realize that people are in fact different.
>>11834299>We're not autistic enough to realize that people are in fact different.
>>11834299You're telling me this >>11833488 is a pet peeve and not something everyone hates??
>>11833689Cool pic anon
>>11834319Uh, yeh? Are you really telling my that everyone packs their displays so tightly?
>>11834325Ok so you enjoy watching your figures falling over like dominos, got it. Maybe we're too normal to understand how autists think.
>>11834328>>11834325This argument is how autistic people thinkIt bugs the fuck out of me that every posable Grogu figure uses a hard plastic robe. He's in like a swaddling robe or something. Just wrap some fabric around an armature, that's what I really want.
>>11834328>A pet peeve, pet aversion, or pet hate is a minor annoyance that an individual finds particularly irritating *to a greater degree than the norm*.that's from wikipedia
>>11834328No... I'm saying I'm not someone that packs their displays so tightly that one figure falling over would result in a chain reaction.
>>11833253I love the concept of accessories that light up but I hate batteries. It gives me anxiety knowing the power is running out and I'm not enjoying it as it disappears. But the ambience of having it there is the enjoyable experience about lighting... I straight up don't understand companies who make dioramas with batteries.USB powered stuff is way better, I guess I could wire them myself somehow but it's work.
>>11834366Wirelessly rechargeable batteries would be a cool tradeoff. Set the thing on a recharger and it's like it's plugged in.
>>11833999this brings one of pet peeves up>character has smaller body and larger head that will very obviously affect balance>head is solid hunk of plastic, which makes the figure fall over in most dynamic poses.
>>11834634What kind of figures are you getting where the head is so massive to cause this? He Man stuff?
1/10 as a scale.>Just different enough from 1/12 to look weird next to it>Not different enough to really justify its own nicheIt's especially annoying because 1/12 has been the standard for scaled figures since before action figures were even "a thing"- it originated from miniatures and dollhouses (because 1 inch at 1/12 converts exactly to 1 foot at 1/1). 1/10 by comparison is a very recent invention which really came out of an attempt to make figures that scaled with Marvel Legends (which are somewhat inconsistently oversized to match the more heroic scaling of the comics) and McFarlane's stuff (which is basically non-scale but always huge; Todd seems to have got it into his head that "7 inch scale" means "Everyone is 7 inches").It's especially annoying with stuff like some newer Chinese figures, which are really nice toys but are way too big next to true 1/12, and also a lot of Girlpla/Bishoujo Plamo. Sousai Shoujo Teien for example looks great but being 1/10, they're huge next to Figma and the like, which is a real shame as they'd otherwise be superb companion pieces.
Knee joints that are placed way too high for the figure to do any kind of natural kneeling pose
>>11835116Why is your example a robot that could have any kind of proportions it wants because its not a human so it doesnt matter if its kneeling pose doesnt look natural Also lol the arms the chest the head and the feet are also unnatural compared to humans so maybe the worst example you could pick. Is this something that only makes sense to Transformersfags?
>figure comes with a sword>sword bend sideways against the figurebanpresto sucks
>>11835144NTA but his complaint makes sense. All the other proportions are balanced and make sense even if they aren't 1:1 with a human being.
>>11835104>>11833747>>11833999Weird scales in general piss me off.3.75 inch. 6 inch or 1/12 scale. Giant figures occasionally. Do we really NEED any more?
