When the fuck are we gonna get a Super Mario Sunshine figure? It's easily the best game (fun puzzles, interesting mechanics, that comfy as fuck beach vibe with gorgeous early 00s water graphics, only Odyssey comes close). We can get a bajillion releases of vanilla Mario and various versions where he just has a new hat, but not one Shortsleeve with FLUDD?

This is a really good custom, it also highlights how little in the way of new parts the figure would actually need, new torso for the belt (though that could be part of the FLUDD accessory so not absolutely needed), and new upper arms just to put the short sleeves on, and of course the FLUDD itself. I mean really with how many straight repaints and re-releases they do, there is no way they can't afford to do one.

Honestly they should really cut down on the Mega Men and X's, they're glutting up the whole damn toy budget.
They should do a better designed line, like Mega Man Zero or ZX. Kraft and his muscular mechanical bod lends itself to a well-engineered figure, and finally, we won't be inundated with recolored X's.

The best moment was the port for the switch but nobody cared that much and toy companies don't really make much snynergy with current games. Mario 3d world and Odyssey were the last time they tried and from now on all of the tie-ins are gonna be movie only probably

>>
>>11839735
Galaxy is definitely solid, but the camera sucks so much ass, also the shifting gravity often causes control issues where Mario will either run in the wrong direction or get caught running in circles. It's not game breaking and I definitely enjoy the games (I just bought the Galaxy 1 and 2 double pack for Switch even though I already had the first one from the All Stars set), but Sunshine is just so much more focused, Odyssey is also an amazing game, but a lot of the impressiveness just comes from the size and graphics, as a game it's not actually more enjoyable than Sunshine.
>>
>>11839814
They think the Gamecube installation of every game was "peak."
OP here and no, Sunshine is pretty much the only game I think beats out all the others in terms of franchise. Mario Kart 64 is way better than Double Dash (DD fucking sucks ass), Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda game (I own Wind Waker and I just can't get into it. I've never played Paper Mario so I have no opinion on that.

>>

If that thing is something I find cool regardless of the alleged poor quality said thing is from then yes. You can dislike the Illumination movies but still find some their figures better than WoN or SHF (movie Yoshi and Bowser are kino fyi).

Hate Sunshine all you want but the tropical aesthetic is charming whether you grew up with it or not and so a tropical Mario variant would be a welcomed addition to the WoN line.

Their costumes from the beginning of Galaxy with the ponchos, goggles, dirtbikes, and fire flowers tucked into their belts was fucking kino. I'd love a high-end 1/12 version of these designs with posable wired cloth.

Although, I also DID think Mario Galaxy was a pretty rad movie because it was nothing but Mario characters looking cool and doing Jackie Chan-tier kung-fu antics with each other while flying through space for 90 minutes. Guess I'm easy to please.

>(DD fucking sucks ass)
You better explain yourself quick. I fucking love DD.
Can't comment on Sunshine as the copy I got doesn't work and I haven't been bothered to get a working one. I'll be real though, I did not care for Super Mario 64 at all. It's an overrated mess and I think it's telling that basically none of the platformers from the time copied its control formula. Especially when you look at Rareware's N64 output and how almost every single successful 3D platformer thereafter copied those.

>You better explain yourself quick. I fucking love DD.
And you can love it, I'm not gonna try and take that away from anyone. I just hate the two-character gimmick, I don't feel like the controls are as tight, the whole just doesn't work for me. I think the inclusion of gimmicks in the Mario Kart games has been largely a detriment. I really hate the customisable kart aspect of the modern games because it becomes more about having the right set-up and playing "correctly" as opposed to your skill as a driver. But that's also very much a constant under-current of Nintendo games, the "you will play the game how we WANT you to play."

>Can't comment on Sunshine as the copy I got doesn't work
If you have a Switch I'd say just grab the All Stars pack, it's worth it just for the ease, and also Sunshine's aesthetic is gorgeous with the sharper graphics.
Mario 64 does suck, it's great for the time, it was an achievement in its day and I respect it for that, but it has definitely aged the worst out of the 3D games.

Not sure how the upcoming Galaxy movie Bowser is going to make the first one look.

I hope the original is not made obsolete because I don't want to replace it and I don't want two huge Bowsers taking up room at home as on one hand, more articulation is always nice but it still doesn't seem worth it if you have the first one. I know there's some differences in the design but I can't quite put my finger on all the changes but what I do notice is that his eyes are bigger, making him look less menacing. Not sure if the lack of a battery compartment under his shell is going to make him look slightly less hunched too.

You don't NEED to replace, you know that, right?
>>
>>11842072
I wasn't going to replace it even if the new one is an improvement as the OG was a thoughtful gift so it's special to me. That being said, I'm not going to pretend to not be slightly disappointed if the new one's articulation offers cool poses the original can't do.

Nah, the gimmick works by vibrating a plate fast enough to vaporise the water, eventually there would just be a little bead (like really fucking tiny), but eventually that will evaporate too. Toys really only go mouldy if there enough moisture that is kept inside them and the environment is also warm enough to propagate the spores. That's why you can was toys in the sink and then they're find if you shake the shit out of them, and then leave a gap somewhere.
>>
What do you guys think of the inconsistency in the movie Yoshi figure. Which one do you prefer? Will the "incorrect" one (left) affect the price for better or worse on the second hand market?

>>

Or he just saw the blue coin bullshit, correctly assessed the game as a badly designed expansion pack to 64, and dipped.
>>
Sunshine is not a bad game by any other dev's standards. It doesn't have the usual Nintendo polish their games had back in the day. It was totatally rushed to get a Mario game on the console and it shows. The worst part is a lot of the bad levels could have been great with just a little more time and effort spent towards really simple stuff like hit detection and more play testing.
>>
Are people flipping out on Sunshine because it's actually a challanging Mario game?
>>
>>11844642
It's challanging due to poor mechanics, not any sense of fairness.
>>
>>11844645
Right, like the Lily Pad thing, the tedious part about that is when you die, it doesn't just spit you out at the the start of that level, it forces you to do the whole tedious thing to get to that tedious level. Corona Mountain does it again with the boat and the blue coins. These are basic things that could have been adjusted with more play testing. It's just bad game design.
>>
>>11844491
You could at least get 3 other levels with how much blue coins there were. What a waste.
>>
>>11835645
Pretty sure that Prime 4 didn’t get the numbers that would warrant figures, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting a Vi-O-La Samus and Sylux similar to Dread Power Suit and EMMI.
>>
>>11844647
>when I fail at something in a game, there are consequences
>this is somehow bad game design
Skill issue. I did that lily pad shit when I was 11 years old. Mario Sunshine was just one of the last times Nintendo actually expected players to develop a skill and then git gud at it, as opposed to constantly trying to distract you with new gimmicks and then tossing them away before you realize how shallow and/or boring they are.

>>11844641
My biggest complaint about sunshine was the shit swimming controls. Mario 64's were almost perfect, but they threw it all out to do whatever the fuck they did in Sunshine, where A swims up, but B swims down? Wtf is that?

>Mario Sunshine was just one of the last times Nintendo actually expected players to develop a skill and then git gud at it
The problem is that you're not developing a skill, but instead you're trying to circunvent bad design. The game is a walk in the park most of the time until you reach one of the extremely badly designed things, that being the pachinko and the lilypad. And they're not an skill issue, they just have terrible physics, and doesn't help that Sunshine has one of the most broken hit detections in any Nintendo game ever, and the controls are slippery as shit. The retro stages without FLUDD are only a challenge sometimes due to how bad the controls are and how terrible the interaction between the character and the environment is. I managed to get all of those Shines back in the day nonetheless, but it's probably the most buggy and easily breakable Mario game ever.
>>
>>11850851
I'd be way more on board with these if they were using the SNES design for DK rather than the updated retro design. That said I'm still really tempted by that fucking Ramby.
>>
>>11853271
To be fair, I don't think they had any choice because Nintendo likely mandated them to use the nu-DK design while leaving the rest open to whatever they wanted to do, which is why the rest of the sets are old DK accurate. I fucking hate how much of a retard the new DK looks right now
>>
>>11853780
>Nintendo likely mandated them to use the nu-DK design
New Nintendo's upper management are really retarded with how they insist on making all merchandise only ever the latest thing. It has never been easier to get LoZ merchandise, but none of it is worth getting because it's all based on the last two fucking games and they made Link fucking blue! I hope Hasbro does figures based on OOT and Majora's Mask but so help me if they base it on the upcoming remake and Nintendo changes Link's design, I'm gonna lose it. 37 years Link was in green and they come up with the blue design because it "stood out better against the backgrounds they were making" because yes, the smart decision is to change the familiar design of the main character instead of fixing the fucking background.
