If the chrome has been worn/scuffed off badly enough that it no longer looks good, you might as well go balls deep and chuck it in the plastic-safe paint remover of your choice for a few days and have a whole new colour to work with. Then spend a few bucks on a rattlecan of chrome and make a new one out of one of your jillion red ones.On a related note, a black Hau is slightly more expensive than an infected black Hau (was last I checked anyway) so you could turn a small profit just stripping the paint and reselling them before the bubble burst. Not that I would personally do that, they're not exactly making any more of the damn things and infected masks are cool.

greg blew it with the piraka. they should have maintained a presence in the future, even if it meant after voya nui they basically disappeared, it would have been cool to see their escapades. he also fucked vezok over by not putting vezon back in him solely because greg kinda liked vezon. imagine seeing what else these guys could do, if they'd split, shit like that? i'd imagine the more pragmatic characters like avak or thok would be more likely to split from them, maybe reidak too

>>11845085I see i'm not the only AU writing autist. i have one where all six of them eventually get together, starting with thok and avak and reidak rebuilding an airship (i could have sworn i read something about that in some canon material and liked the idea of it) and basically becoming mercenaries/explorers on a different version of zakaz. and yeah pre-split vezok is fun to write for since you can make better use of his innate power, or even thok actually using his power on weapons and armor like he's supposed to be able to do.
