Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'
>http://jungle-scs.co.jp/ - Seems like you can fine some good deals here
>Check the BST threads (if they ever comeback), My Figure Collection for any offer/deal

Here's a link to the buyfag guide list of shops:

If you're getting into the hobby, there's plenty of other useful information to find on the wiki.

In case someone is interested in the printable backdrops/dioramas & other papercraft stuff that Max Factory have in the download section of their site:

Short illustrated posing guide by Max Factory
>http://ameblo.jp/figma/entry-11564427757.html (in moonrunes)
The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

Tomytec's 1 inch scale section (1/12 stuff, little armory, vehicles and others)

For 3rd party accesories/diorama pieces just look for 1/12 stuff (for other scales just ask in the thread)

>That thing that barely moves, doesn't include ice effects nor optional faces other than looking to the side? Yeah, FOTY, thanks Freeing-sama for this shitty gift of 16500 jpy, even a statue is more worth it.
The shoulders are really limited, the rest is typical figma fare. But I can live with that. It's a figure that I wanted for 30 years and would have never thought it would exist, so I would obviously be less inclined to be picky about it.
As for the lack of accessories... It sucks but this is modern day figma, that problem is not limited to this release.

>>11845118
>I agree, companies get IPs to not make toys, that makes perfect sense
Max Factory used it though, they released two characters. That's one more than what many other IPs got. You must be new to figma if you think this is unusual.

BIGma strikes again, but the sculpt is still pretty gorgeous and she poses well. Overall I think Small.H. Figuarts is just cuter and overall more accurate to how Frieren appears in the show despite the articulation being kinda meh. I still own both though because I like Frieren

I don't think there is even a precedent for figma making shonen figures before MHA so I don't think that's fair, really.

>So you're biased, got it.
Of course I am, never said otherwise. The whole point is that that release didn't kill the Dai line, that's just typical Max Factory just doing one or two releases and calling it a day. Same thing with Gendoh, Max Factory doesn't care about making Evangelion figmas, and Freeing releasing Gendoh for shits and giggles has nothing to do with it. That was what this conversation was about.

>For a popular shonen IP, this is pathetic even for figma
>Dai
>Popular
Dragon Quest is popular, Dai not that much, not even in Japan. The original anime didn't even adapt everything and the manga has been in a messy legal spot for decades until it was solved just some years ago. It's one of my childhood shows, but at the end of the day it's just an spin-off of an infinitely more popular franchise and it lives on its shadow.

Also picking MHA as an example is either you cherrypicking consciously or you just not knowing much about the figma line as a whole.

I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was one of those otakubait properties where the fans turn into shrieking animals and send death threats the moment any of the girls even talk to a male character. At least I think it was one of those idol properties where they were going to have some kind of gacha game crossover but it got canned because fans were going nuclear about them crossing over with a property with male characters.

I got the 2014 Miku recently because I thought it was the lewdest one but now I wish I got 2023. The bottom heavy + flat chest + fang combo is doing things for me... I think the only male human characters I can recall actually interacting with any girls or being more was Nico’s little brother and Kanon asking her dad for his Mandarin to Japanese translation book. I remember reading how in the JPop industry female idols aren’t usually allowed to publicly have significant others lest they be seen as ‘claimed territory’ to their fans. I guess even fictional idols get that same treatment.

>>11846357
It's really weird to see a bunch ppl defending the shf. Feels like sour grapes from the ppl who already owned the shf before the figma came out. The figma is objectively the superior option. Is it perfect? Of course not, but its got more accessories, more expressive faces, a LOT better articulation (I have both figures), and better plastic quality. >>11847271 ass sculpt is a bonus too, but that is as expected since the 2B fiasco. The lack of articulation on the poncho and no joint on the ponytails is really a bumper for the shf now that I have both. Soft goods really help the shf, but at that point you'll be paying more than the figma deluxe.

>>
>>11847493
It's not about believing, it's the obvious truth. Cyclops Gendo is the kind of weird release someone at Freeing would push, like every single other of their strange meme choices. If Max Factory really cared about releasing Misato or Shinji they would have done it ages ago. Freeing's Criminal figure sold well enough to even have two different releases, but Max Factory didn't release Ran, Shinichi, Kogoro or an actually articulated Conan. Did that figure kill the Detective Conan line even when it sold well? Don't think so.

Both Gendoh and the Criminal were released by Freeing as fun "joke" figures. Yes, Gendoh too. His design in Rebuild with the cracked face was memed in Japan. They released him due to the weirdness of the design in typical Freeing fashion so people could have fun with the figure. But you're free to believe it killed the Evangelion line if you want, you'll just be wrong, because the Evangelion line died after Asuka, Mari and Rei.
>>
>>11847765
>More like ppl aren't willing to pay for 2 figures of the same character, so they try to justify that theirs is the better choice.
This is correct. Had the figma been announced and released first most people shitting on the figma would have purchased it instead of the Figuarts, and obviously right now they would be talking shit about the Figuarts instead, better scale be damned.

Some people here just can't accept the idea that another figure of the same character does things better than the one they purchased. They need their choice to be absolute correct and their figure to be clearly the best one in every regard.
