Finally, some good fucking food
>>
>>11847899
Its should have been Jada. Dang.
>>
>>11847902
Jada sucks ass
>>
>>11847899
Interesting, let's see how they look at SDCC.

>>11847902
Jada should make every domestic toy, quality wise, but that isn't feasible and they're just really slow, which not every licensor would be happy with. And plus, the others are catching up. Chronicles from Mattel are a few iterations from being just as good (they really need to work on the range of articulation), and at least personally I feel theyre at least as good as Jada's wave 1 SF. Hasbro can make good products, they just tend to rest on their laurels. The occasional hit from ML proves it. Some solid figures in Classified as well. I'm sure they could make good Zelda figures, just a matter of if they will.
>>
>>11847902
On one hand, they'd likely be better figures. On the other, you'd be waiting till 2028 for the first wave which wouldn't even include both Link and Zelda.
>>
>>11847909
Jada is incredible and shits on Hasbro.
>>11847911
So? I want the figures to be good. Jada are slow but they release quality shit. Their Invincible figures are incredible and cheaper than many Hasbro options. Hasbro is going to make up pay a premium for their ugly ineffective joint systems from 15 years ago.
>>
>>11847910
Hasbro charges like 50$ for a decent action figure with slightly more modern articulation. Hasbro bodies are just so bad.
>>
>>11847899
Nice. I want to see Hasbro doing more collabs like this and Tomb Raider. I've collected a lot of different brands domestic and import and for some reason Hasbro figures remain my favorite. But with their current pricing, they need to step it up a little bit and standardize things like ball jointed hands, extra hands and heads, and toe hinges. Also their butterfly joints are rarely useful so some improvement in things like that would be good.
>>
>>11847915
Jada isn't fit to lick shit off Hasbro's ass.
>>
>shilling for hasbro of all companies
the fuck is wrong with you niggas
>>
>>11847925
Proof? Like genuinely what does Hasbro do thats worth a dame? Their marvel figures are awful and their star wars figures peg warm and arent that good. All they can do is pump out a large series of slop fast. Jada actually takes time, makes unique sculpts for the bodies with modern articulation while keeping it at a reasonable price. Hasbro is charging a premium for their repainted slop of glub shitto from marvel comics.
>>
>>11847927
You don't like ugly action figure bodies from 10 years ago and overpaying? Wowsers.
>>
>>11847902
If it was Jada you'd need to sleep 7 years just to deal waiting for wave 2.

>>
>>11847899
I love my figmas but if this gets me a decent Hero of Time I am fucking in.

>>11847902
And have them take my entire lifetime just to do the seven sages? No thanks. I like Jada's products but I'm not the biggest fan of how slow they are.

>>11847928
>Their marvel figures are awful
Really? Cuz it's one of the most popular toy lines to ever exist. And no, it's not relying on name recognition from the ToyBiz days 20 fucking years ago. Hasbro has had the Marvel Legends license longer than ToyBiz has at this point.

>star wars figures peg warm and arent that good.
The figures themselves actually tend to be pretty good imo. It's just that Star Wars is a dead brand, that's why it rots, not because the toys are good or bad.

Hasbro is fine for what it is and Jada is far too slow to keep up with a bigger license like Marvel. Get over yourself shill.
>>
>>11847957
>Kinda slow with Jada with good peices
>Or rapid fire overpriced slop from Hasbro with a bunch of ugly reused shit
I think i have the patience to wait for Jada to release quality figures. I'm just gonna not by Hasbro's slop anyway because its overpriced and looks like shit with terrible bodies. Also their star wars stuff is terrible. Characters dont get enough range and their prequel edits are all stiff as fuck while massively reusing parts and now adjusting the price to reflect the fact. It's likely been going on so long because the profit margin is crazy. They are just retooling shitty old bucks with news heads and sometimes new boots or some shit for 30$. Jada has been doing great with their SF releases aswell. Its slower than Hasbro but we get quality at a good price.
>>
>>11847965
>Jada
>Kinda slow
It's been almost two years since they announced the 2nd wave and they still haven't even solicited it. They just now solicited Invincible figures from a season that came out more than a year and a half ago. Jada is so slow it makes Mafex seem fast.

Like I said though, I am a fan of their products, the SF figures I have are really nice and the Cyberpunk 2077 figures are fantastic, I was initially on the fence about them but didn't regret my purchase when I got them in hand. Great figs. But I got them like a year ago now and they still haven't even solicited Rebecca. Shit's annoying.
>>
Makes sense since they have the movie coming out, wouldn't want to leave a big merchandising opportunity like that to Jakks.
>>
>>11847965
>'m just gonna not by Hasbro's slop anyway because its overpriced and looks like shit with terrible bodies

>>
>>11847928
Legends, Classified, etc. All better than Jada.
>>
>>11847928
I don't follow marvel too closely so can't comment on that but their star wars figures are great when they don't half ass them or reuse molds. The hate boner for hasbro is so forced. Maybe not all their products are good because they often cheap out and cut corners but they are absolutely capable of making great figures and have done so many times.

If you look at the sculptwork and how they do textures or overlay pieces, it's actually quite good and realistic and what everyone should be doing. Their joints are also a good balance of maintaining enough articulation without compromising aesthetic. I don't think you guys pay attention to things like that. I'm not sure what metrics you guys are using to call figures shit but it's probably something retarded and reflective of bad taste.

Also on Jada, they are probably better in some regards but honestly it doesn't even matter. They do not put out enough product in a timely manner. There is absolutely no point in wishlisting things for Jada because they almost do not make toys at this point. Waiting for Jada to make X figure is about the same as waiting for god to perform a miracle so I'm not sure what is even the point of hoping for Jada to make something because you will never get it.
>>
>>11847985
As someone who is pretty critical of Jada, I wouldn't say that's the case. I'd say that currently engineered MLs and most Classifieds are on par with Jada figures. They're not better.
>>
Jakks…betrayed…
>>
>>11847957
>if this gets me a decent Hero of Time I am fucking in.
It'll probably just be movie tie-in stuff. Nintendo has made it pretty clear they have no interest in farming for nostalgia when it comes to action figures. They're just looking to put "CURRENT THING" on the pegs for more visibility. The partnership with Hasbro was probably just in the name of bigger production and distribution.
>>

>>11848005
The fact that the movie is live action automatically kills any possible enthusiasm I could have had for the toys. I don't want a Link figure with a shitty face-scult that looks like some gay actor. I just want Link.
>>
Doesn't sound like they're talking about the movie or at least not solely the movie.
>PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, today announced a new licensing partnership with Nintendo to create products based on the popular Legend of Zelda franchise. This multi-year collaboration is set to begin in 2027, starting with the first reveals of three 6" scale figures at San Diego Comic Con (July 23-26, 2026).
>“For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery,” said Billy Lagor, President Toys and Board Games at Hasbro. “By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures.”
>Ever since its first title, released in the US in 1987, the Legend of Zelda series has mixed exploration and discovery with action and adventure. Link and Zelda’s eternal battle against Ganondorf forms the centerpiece of these epic tales from the world of Hyrule.
>>
Wow, did Jakks piss Nintendo off or something?
>>
>>11848015
No. Jakks just sucks and Nintendo is trying to expand their market.
>>
>>11848018

Fine with me. Jakks’ stuff is fine for the price, but damn are they lazy with Nintendo’s stuff outside Mario. Even their Sega line has more variety, and that’s still 80% Sonic.
>>
>three figures
Link Zelda and Ganondorf, I’m sure.
>>
>>11847899
Has to, give me a Zelda/Transformers crossover and I'll be happy.
>>
Jada’s SF line is incredible but they don’t have the production power Hasblow has. It makes sense.
The Zelda movie is going to suck shit. I still can’t believe they didn’t just opt for another Illumination “make lousy cg movie, collect $1 billion” thing.

>>11848022
I doubt that's Jakks' fault. Nintendo likely has the final say on what they produce.

>>11848032
If this happened, I wonder how they'd approach it. The more lucrative choice would be to make organic beastformers out of the animals/monsters/bosses of the series, but I feel like Hasbro doesn't think organic beastformers fit the brand's image, at least not for a crossover.

Sadly, there aren't many machines or vehicles in the Zelda series. The coolest thing they could do, I think, is make a Spirit Tracks transformer with a train alt mode that transforms into something that looks like the spirit armor that Zelda posesses, and comes with a little Link mini-figure in scale, but they never get that creative with the crossover shit. It's always basic bitch trash for maximum marketability. The best we could hope for would be a Hylian shield that transforms into a really shitty Link, or something.
>>
>>11848049

Then let’s hope Hasbro is given more free rein with Zelda. Like, nothing off limits. Except maybe the CDi games, heh.

Oh, and an accurately sized Ocarina of Time. Role play toy that plays music, is a Transformer, whatever.
>>
>>11848051
>Oh, and an accurately sized Ocarina of Time. Role play toy that plays music, is a Transformer, whatever.
That sounds fucking awful. But it's exactly what would happen because crossover shit usually sucks. Just a mess of plastic that's obviously two licenses at once to stick on a shelf and forget about. Yawn.

I'm a long-time Transformer fan, and it's an issue plaguing the franchise for a while; nobody actually wants a good Transformer. They want a recognizable character that arbitrarily has another form that may or may not be total shit. There's no balance or appeal anymore. The entire "transformation" aspect feels like it's become a formality.

Why does Hasbro keep making figures for soulless remake slop when it's guaranteed to lose money and go straight into the ross/ollies bins? That has been the fate of Star Wars and Marvel Disney+ shit, Indiana Jones, Dungeons and Dragons, etc. and will be the fate of Street Fighter and Zelda live action. At least they didn't bother with Tron Ares but they could be getting actually good IP instead of wasting time and money on this stuff.

it still could, because licenses usually exist in a couple of forms: childrens toys, collector toys, and then further subdivided by 1:12 scale, 1:18 scale, 3.75" scale, 1:24 scale, and so on.

IT's how Fortnite exists in 1:12, 1:10, and 1:18 scale by two different companies.
Overwatch had similar releases too. figma and Hasbro both released Overwatch figures in North America and they were both in 1:12 scale.

>>
>>11848777
6" still, because collector market toys are seperate from kid toys.

This is how DCD was able the Icons line while Mattel was making their DC stuff.
SAme with Figma Overwatch at same time as HAsbro's OVerwatch line.

Most of the time 1:10 scale is done for collector lines, because of the cost factor. Collector lines sell fewer toys than kids toys, so the cost will increase. So a toy company like NECA or Diamond Select increased the scale to 1:10 to make it feel like you're getting more bang for your buck, but that 1inch difference is almost neglibible in actual costs.
OF course, McFarlane started doing 1:10 for the DC children's line too, because he wanted to stand out from Mattel's old trash. Cost him next to nothing to increase that scale.

Basically, the license can be pretty general and can be as specific as they want, in order to milk it for all its worth.
so unless Hasbro is paying for both the collector and children's toy license across multiple scales, other toy companies can cash in too.

It's because you have a handful of incredibly vocal retards that parrot the same non-arguments over and over again and act like their personal opinion should be the be all, end all doctrine on how toys are made. It's really annoying and it isn't convincing anyone to not buy Hasbro figures.

I just... Can't though, even if I want to. I was looking at their new Power Rangers collectors line, I initially was going to grab Gold Ranger since he's my favorite Ranger design, and maybe the rest of the team if I liked the figure but upon closer inspection I changed my mind. Minimal paint, pinned joints, and non photoreal heads. In the year of our lord two thousand and twenty six? I get they're only $20 and that's kind of steal in today's market, but the problem is, they look $7 cheaper than the average domestic figure.
>>
>>11849089
They would be less than 20 if it wasn’t for…reasons. Playmates is usually fine for what they cost.

Exactly the kind of performative bullshit I have zero interest in. Sounds awful. 1/10, would not buy.
>As a novelty it would be cool, at least to me.
So, a box set of three figures, you'd be looking at a price tag of $90, at least. Probably easily over 100, though, taking the license tax into account. Over 100 bucks for a trio of "novelty" figures that transform into fucking triangles?

This is exactly what's wrong with toys. Too many of you faggots are just collectors. You don't care about a cool/fun toy that's well engineered or designed. You have no sense of style or creativity. You just want a thing you recognize to stick on a shelf to make up for your horrid lack of personality. Fucking hell, no wonder this board sucks.
>>
>>11849177
>already locked exclusive repaints to SDCC
I'd hate if Hasbro locked figures I wanted to SDCC.
Oh wait. They do that nearly every fucking year. Waited years for them to reissue BaF Sauron as a deluxe like they had done with so many BaFs recently, and they lock it to a 3 pack AND make it a SDCC exclusive.

When toys hit Ross it's not due to them being good or bad figures, it's whether or not people cared enough about the character to buy them. /toy/ is in the minority that they buy figures based on whichever is the objectively best bang for your buck, whereas everyone else just wants little plastic effigys of their favorite characters. Zelda is pretty popular, even moreso with the new OoT remake and movie along the way. DnD isn't nearly as relevant in the cultural zeitgeist as Zelda.

Nah, Link with Epona will be a Pulse exclusive that you need to pay a subscription just to have a chance to buy it. If we get any females it'll be OoTR impa+Sheik in a two pack.

Epona will come with a TOTK/BOTW Link in a special set.

Sidon might be done but all Zora are gonna have terrible articulation and heavy heads.

Hasbro Zelda will suck ass, screencap this
>>
>>11849864
Lil bro is mad that people are more invested in a character than whether or not a knee can Ben slightly farther. Sorry butt munch, but people buy figures for the characters. Most people don't care if some random character from a franchise they don't even like can crouch forward another two degrees than the figure of the character they like can.

You lil guys always try to nitpick and bitch and moan about every possible tiny fault in something just because the brand on the package is one you don't like, when meanwhile you shill another product that is practically the same because it has a company logo you support on the package. The company wars thing is so gay. I buy from a , multitude of companies, Hasbro and Jada included. I feel like most people do this and only the hyper autistic are the ones who draw this line in the sand. Get over yourself. No one cares whether or not you're going to buy a product or not. No one here even cares what your name is let alone what toys you're going to buy. Just buy what you like and shut the fuck up already.
>>
>>11849869
Lil bro, I do exactly the same as you, I buy what I like from different brands, I have no loyalty to any of them and I couldn’t care less what others buy. But in my experience even the best ML (Mvc Cable, 2pack Sabretooth) were disappointing, Jada was disappointing, I don’t want a crappy figure of a character I like vs not having one at all, but you do you
>>
>>11849877
You sound like you don't have a lot of experience because while Cable is pretty good, Sabertooth is an incredibly mid figure. Take a look at Maximum Thor if you want their best output. Or something from GI Joe Classifieds. The problem ML has is it's been around forever and so they reuse old molds in order to get the higher character count. Which is the main seller, character selection. MLs engineered within the past few years are pretty stellar. The new Dark Hawkeye is using a newer articulation setup and it's actually quite nice, on par with any of the Jada figs I own. Honestly maybe try being more realistic with your expectations for $25ish mass market action figures. I mean, we aren't talking about like McFarlane or Playmates or something.
>>
>>11849899
>>11849899
>reuse antique molds constantly, but character selection, man!
>overpay for """maximum""" to get something remotely decent, bro!
>pretty stellar, on par with Jada (which is mid)
>try to be realistic for 25usd mass market figures
Coping this hard, jfc. It’s ok to like shit toys, but calling them stellar, I don’t know how you can sit with the amount of assfucking you get from hasbro
>>
>>11849899
I don’t have a lot of experience with ML, because the experience I had deferred me from buying more. Do you just keep buying stuff after being disappointed again and again? What are the stellar releases you’re talking about? I’m not interested in Thor or Hawkeye as characters though, and I doubt they fix the stuff I don’t like about ML. The materials, the way they feel, the finish, the paint apps, the sculpt, the articulation, the joints, the accessories etc. Plenty of people feel differently, it’s ok. Like I said, the argument that they are $25 figures simply confirms that they are cheap toys, not collectibles. I would rather spend 4x and have one good figure than 4 I don’t really like, but again, you do you
>>
>>11849907
Why even reply if you don't have an actual argument?

>>11849915
>Do you just keep buying stuff after being disappointed again and again?
No? Honestly, there are very few times I get an ML where I am outright disappointed with it. Sure they all have their faults here and there, everything does, but I don't really get outright disappointed or frustrated with an ML. And I don't just love everything that crosses my desk. I don't buy McFarlane figures because 9/10 I am actually disappointed with what I got for various reasons, even though I like DC.

>What are the stellar releases you’re talking about?
I gave you two very recent examples with the new Dark Hawkeye and Max Thor.

>I’m not interested in Thor or Hawkeye as characters though
That's fine, I was just listing them since they were recently releases and they were both very good releases.

>and I doubt they fix the stuff I don’t like about ML
And how exactly would you even know that if you don't try or at least look at them? I can tell you the articulation scheme is pretty different on those two figures compared to the ones you listed.

>The materials, the way they feel, the finish, the paint apps, the sculpt, the articulation, the joints, the accessories etc.
I mean, what exactly are you looking for in a domestic toy company because based on this critera, none of them meet your expectations. Hell, I'd argue even some imports don't meet your criteria.

> I would rather spend 4x and have one good figure than 4 I don’t really like, but again, you do you
And what are these amazing toys your supposedly buying exactly? Because from the sound of it, it's not a Mafex figure, not a SHF, nor even an Amazing Yamaguchi. So what exactly do you consider to be an acceptable quality toy? I'm really interested to know where these standards you have are coming from.

That Hawkeye still has a waist swivel, man. Btw I really like the sculpt and paint of many ToyBiz legends, don’t own any, but there’s that.

Not a full list of figures I own and like, but some examples:
Mafex The Dark Knight Returns Batman, Terminator, Robocop, DD, comic Iron Man, Mando
SHF LSS Goku and FP Frieza, random Kamen Riders, Movie realisation Stormtrooper Samurai, Deadpool2, Indiana Jones
Storm Arena all SF figs, Storm Co SF2 Zangief
Figma Samus Metroid Prime and Other M, TotK and Skyward Sword Link, 2B
Nendo Kirby, Spongebob, Patrick
Neca (!) Mirage Turtles and SF4 Ryu
SexyIce all dudes
Xcocann Chun-Li
Acid Rain 6inch dudes
Inart Bale Batman
Lpzz Deathstroke
Revo NG2, Harley (both Isekai and the older one), Juri, Mazinger
Threezero Mega Man

No figure will ever hit all of my criteria, but I am willing to look past some, like Neca Ryu is an old-ass figure, the joints are objectively ugly, but the sculpt and paint make up for it. I have some ML and BS and Jada and I just don’t see that

Nintendo isn't going to let a toy company reveal the designs of the new movie a year in advance that they've kept secret until this point. OOT remake comes out November so its more likely this will be the main trio (young link, young Zelda, ganondorf) as a mini line that will ship early next year. I think they would be more comfortable with spoiling the designs for a remake instead of a brand new project. This will serve as the classic representation for the toys, even if its still a departure design wise. Next year they will have a larger movie tie-in line that includes 6 inch and smaller budget figures. They will save adult link for the movie line because young link won't be in it.

I only really got them for their relation to MvC and because they're the only two female characters. meanwhile I pose and repose all my Legends because besides recreating a sprite in a game, superhero figures do spark the imagination.

It's actually really really really funny that Kojima is making Hunter Schaefer the monster in his new game. They always hype up getting hired for this fancy high tier tole and then it's just "hideous deformed beast that will molest you"

Street Fighter has never been good tbqh, it just gets press because of paid shills
>>
>>11851653
anon you're thinking of Mortal Kombat
>>
>>11851692
That series continues to live rent free in every capcuck's head I see
But unlike certain franchises it doesn't need paid astroturfing from the FGC and desperate crosspromotion in Destiny and Magic the Gathering to survive...

bruh they literally put a black gay furry front and center of their whole "professional" scene in an attempt to gain attention and traction on a new title some years back. Street Fighter's community occurs naturally and is much less annoying.
That said the entire FGC is like 99% gay furry niggers now anyway so it's a moot point, if you can't just enjoy them in a silo by yourself you may as well not pay any attention to them.
At least SF has unique character designs and isn't 20 recolors of the same dude wearing a ninja costume while they turn all their women into men with the strongest of jaw lines while paying out therapy insurance to their devs that have to research gruesome mutilations while everything else gets sanitized.

What was the cause of this and what was the turning point?

Mortal Kombat is a classic with tons of beloved color swaps

Because you have to be at least a little bit autistic to be into fighting games, especially at a competitive level. And autism leads to being a furry, and furry leads to being gay.

That'll be BOTW figures, that shield was used in that and Skyward Sword and I doubt it's the latter.

Though it is Hasbro and they could just be being incompetent like usual.
>>
>>11852025
Capcom money and being essentially headlined for years by Mr. Wizard (gay pedophile capcom fanboy)
>>
>>11852818
I think it's just a matter of Nintendo standardizing what the Hylian Shield looks like at this point.
>>
>>11852779
Skyward Sword

Each figure will be from a different game
>>
>>11852834
Lame but possible, that is the reason the BOTW one is the same as SS, but if they're doing collector focused figures, I would hope they'd make them accurate to the source material if Link is from any other Zelda game.
>>
>>11852818
I think they're also using it for the OoT remake as the new logo uses it.

Ocarina of Time toys confirmed, woo!

I doubt it'll be figures of that remake being revealed tomorrow when we don't even have a proper trailer of it.

Nah, it's right

You're blind then or as potentially idiotic as Hasbro may be.

>>11852864
gonna rub it in your face tomorrow you dumb bitch.
>>
>>11852866
How can you when I've already laid out how that could potentially be a outcome? also why would you be so prideful over getting inaccurate figures?

You lost already.
