>>11851141Man, a lot of crap went down in the past few weeks, it's honestly hard to keep up with everything and it sucks having to be more picky when it comes to collecting. We're living through a golden age of fantasy figures as they're coming at us from all sides and styles and there don't seem to be any stopping any time soon. Joytoy will be dropping Wow figures, Hasbro has their lil D&D blind box figure sets, 4H is just non-stop with their crap (no really, they need to stop for a bit), Savage Crucible is going straight ham with their releases and even Boss Fight has some good stuff on the horizon. Then there's the chinese stuff, which is almost impossible to keep track of between the sheer quantity of releases and the companies constantly changing names to stay ahead of the game. Hell, there's at least seven different companies dropping Conans....in various degrees of legality. It's crazy we've seen more Conan's released in the last two years then the entire history of the character's existence prior. It's a good time to be a fan of fantasy figures, but it's a bad time to be the wallet of someone who likes fantasy figures.
>>11851144Oh right, also Hasbro has a license to do Zelda figures. This could either be an absolute trainwreck like their Overwatch line or an absolute tragedy like their Fortnite line. But still, Hasbro taking on something like Zelda instead of one of the smaller companies is kind of crazy. Though it's probably all gonna be movie junk.
>>11851146It's not movie figures, please stop talking out of your ass.
>>11851144>Man, a lot of crap went down in the past few weeks, it's honestly hard to keep up with everythingI just got hit for my Ashes of Agbendor orders at BBTS. It hurts. I nearly dropped my extras, but the more I looked at the Blue Shield and Gobhollow sets, the more I realised I needed multiples. Honestly, 2 of each may not be enough.>>11851259It's not specifically for movie figures, but you are smoking crack if you think Hasbro didn't get the license in anticipation for the upcoming move and aren't going to try to cash in on it hoping that it's as popular as the Mario movies.
>>11851282>but you are smoking crack if you think Hasbro didn't get the license in anticipation for the upcoming move and aren't going to try to cash in on it hoping that it's as popular as the Mario movies.Yeah but no one contested that at all.
>>11851146I hope they end up good and successful enough to do tons of different series and characters. Or even monsters. I only liked Zelda up to whatever was before Skyward Sword and there's so much shit Id love to see. Especially if Im going to mix it with other fantasy stuff I own.
>>11851321Sorry, but >>11851259>It's not movie figuresimplies that there's will be no movie figures.
>>11851259>Giant film coming up>Toy Company has rights to characters from said film>Assuming no toys will be made to accompany said giant film. Dude, really? >>11851282I'm kicking myself for skipping out on the Goblin Set when it went up for pre-order. Trying to get it now is going to be near impossible. I'm also tempted to get the wizard guy because I had a sudden realization that the body he uses would make a great rogue figure. This line honestly feels like it's full of sleeper hits, the v2s aren't that impressive but the original characters are all kind of cool in their own unique ways. >>11851323My actual knowledge of the franchise ends at the second game....which wasn't even originally a Zelda game to begin with. Still, if they can make some cool figures, I'd probably pick some up.>>11851327Well we'll see the first three figures from their six inch line at SDCC, but I agree I hope they knock these out of the park. Hasbro pumps out figures in *wildly* different levels of quality, from the crap Indiana Jones stuff to the amazing Classified line, there's almost no consistency to what they actually make. Though we're ignoring that a lot of the merch they'll put out won't actually be figures. They'll have playsets and role play stuff and almost certainly a Monopoly game and tons of other stuff, probably even a MTG crossover of some kind.
That Mythic dragon a bunch of you ordered looks like a big boy.
>>11851379God I wish that was me>>11851379
>>11851323>I only liked Zelda up to whatever was before Skyward SwordTwilight Princess? That's the last one I really got into. I did play Skyward Sword, but I can't remember anything from it. Really, my main wants are from Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask. I love Windwaker, and ALttP might be my favorite game in the series, but I'm not sure how well some of the designs would translate to figures.>>11851344I agree that this wave might be a sleeper hit. Even the v2s are something I couldn't pass on since I am rebuilding my collection and Azza was one of my faves from the second Kickstarter. And the Gold Skeleton is a million times better than the original, and the armor color looks like it will match Sir Andrew for more swapping potential. The only one I skipped was the Shadow Centaur, and I was kind of on the fence with Xue and his weird mismatched robe colors. But I saw this pic with his robes stripped off that confirmed that cancelling him would have been a mistake. I might swap parts between him and Samir to make a wizard I'm fully happy with.
>>11851323>I only liked Zelda up to whatever was before Skyward SwordYou sound boring

>>11851569I got to the second boss and after that I had enough of the game. I think durability is a silly mechanic. Also didn't the enemies respawn constantly if you even turned around like in far cry 2? I'll stick to oot or play 3d dot heroes.
In case anyone else is also waiting for it and wondering when it's coming, I just got the shipping notification for my Mythic Legions: The First 10 Years book.
>>11851566Appreciate you sharing your shit opinion.
>>11851573>I think durability is a silly mechanicIt's actually a good mechanic and makes you think on your feet, also makes you actually use different weapons. It's clever.>Also didn't the enemies respawn constantly if you even turned around like in far cry 2?No. They respawn on the blood moon, that's it.
>>11852113Yeah, thanks for ruining Zelda for the current generations. I'm sure the remake of oot done by pajeets will have durability thanks to retards like you.
Were there ever any third party/unofficial Skyrim figures? The funko legacy Daedric warrior is alright, but I was hoping one of the biggest games ever would have more in the way of figures.
>>11852102I'm guessing you ordered directly from them? I ordered from BBTS, so hopefully mine is a few weeks after that. I have been slammed by all the fantasy preorders hitting the last few weeks.
>use the BBTS new waitlist option>get Azza with no fussOk, I like this new program.
>>11852230How does it work? Do they automatically charge you when it becomes available?
>>11852204yeah I ordered directly from store horsemen
>>11852237Yes, they auto charge the card you tie to the waitlist order like you would a normal pre-order if it becomes available. Then they send you an email saying you were charged and it's in you PoL
Managed to at last put an order in for SC Kubla Khan now that Gundamit has him listed, wish it weren't so awkward getting Savage Crucible at a normal price in the UK, glad Gundamit sell them. Also we got some production prototype shots of the Boss Fight Conan wave, I personally only out a tentative deposit down for Belit, but I'm not impressed really, she looks a lot softer than the render (as usual). Heroic Signatures will probably do her sooner rather than later, I actually had them confirm to me they are revealing new figures at SDCC and I expect their stuff will get better with each release.
>>11853017
>>11853018
>>11853017>>11853018>>11853019I like the Conan but the chick just looks like an older Marvel Legends. I mean....I'll still keep my P/O for her as I'm a sucker for Sword and Sandal stuff, but I'll happily buy her again if FG or Icon Collectibles or Heroic Signatures do a version of her as well.
In the latest podcast interview that happened with team members of Savage Crucible, the owner Rob Post, who is known for leaving hints of what's to come on the table behind him, had this old figure of Sláine. Not saying for sure there's gonna be a new Sláine figure through SC but it seems very much possible and something to look forward to. It would be really dope if they end up doing a line of 2000 AD figures.

>>11853748I pointed out that figure behind in a couple of weeks ago as well, he's also mentioned before that it was one of his main IPs he wanted to go after. I feel he would need a new body, I've said before I think Icon Collectibles/Eamon doing him would be my preference, but a SC one could be amazing as well. Fingers crossed.Speaking of and I know not strictly fantasy, but as with John, I think she falls under the theme of this thread, FGs teased and are showing of Dejah Thoris this weekend! Extremely excited, been on my pre-decided auto buy from them since the moment they announced John Carter. It also looks like that's a proper green Martian at her feet in the style of the painting which means one of two things for me, either it's a statue piece like Woola that will come with her to complete the painting diorama or they are going to make Tars Tarakas, which would be incredible. Frazetta did paint him, so it's possible. They also have a panel for Frazetta's Fiercest Females, hinting at potentially more announcements, so we might see some of the girls he painted get upcoming figures.
>>11854290>*Tars Tarkas>*behind him
>>11854159>>11854162>>11854166Fuckin' A. Even doing one of the canceled wave 2 figures. Shit, this and NECA doing Ren & Stimpy is kind of exciting.
>>11854290SEXXO incoming
>>11854290Instant buy as well. I suppose they haven't released a .png picture?>>11854162Nice! Arakula or whatever it was called, I don't remember. I have no interest in human skeletons by Mythic Legions because of the laughable anatomy, but a fully monster one is a must buy.
Weird that Skeleton Warriors is coming back given how one of the creators is allegedly a sex perv. Also was partially expecting Nacelle to buy it given the random stuff their buying.Hope the first hero they release his Grimskull given he's the only actually cool one and isn't a shameless MOTU reject like the others
>>11854927I don't remember this show/toy line, which is surprising. I'll have to do some googling and see if it is just some long locked away memory that needs reawakening.
>>11854927>given how one of the creators is allegedly a sex pervIf I had a nickel for every new toyline shown at SDCC 2026 whose franchise creator was accused of having sex with minors, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice in the same year.
>>11854949It died pretty quickly, which is odd given it got carda, comics and a fucking Playstation game.
>>11855109There are numerous speculations on why it failed.>Toyline could easily scare off kids and bitchy parents while show was too dark for kids to the point of allegedly parents writing angry letters to CBS as well as too soft for older audiences (As well as nobody watching CBS' Saturday morning block anymore due in part to stuff Nickelodeon and Fox Kids.)>Playmates releasing the villains first and the heroes later for some stupid reason.>Coming out around the time of Power Rangers height of popularityHopefully this time aiming the series at an older audience will make it do better this time even if it will never become the global phenomenon the creators wanted it do be (I even saw Baron Dark at a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade to show how much was riding on it's success.).
>>11854927I agree Grimskull is coolest, but I actually like all of the heroes. They're like He-Man by way of 40k.
>>11855329Gary Goddard did produce MOTU stage shows and directed the 1987 movie so at least SW does have some connection to the real thing.Sucks that due to him being a pedo they can't get new material given the show was one 13 episode season, a comic series and a PS1/Saturn game that barely resembled the show at all.
The Heroic Signatures figures that I was foretold about have been shown in concept art form, potentially pretty sweet. King Conan.
>>11856066Zenobia! Gotta be one of the first times she has ever been made.
>>11856070And black and white Buscema version. I'm not really into these black and white versions personally, but I can see a niche interest in a black and white shelf to go with the comics and stuff.
>>11856070McFarlane did a nerd hummel of her in his Conan line. Also, the concept art they showed of her at the con has her bare-breasted with nipples, for the coomers here.
>>11856136Yeah sorry I should have posted that picture I guess, didn't notice mine was censored.
Any word on the Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser figures? The future Moorcock ones?
>>11856413Nothing that I have found yet, I don't know whether SC have had a panel yet or are doing one at all though. Their display has these new (to me at least) angel dudes though.
>>11856646Bear in a bit more detail than at Joe Fest.
>>11856648Kubla (Gundamit has his wave on there for pre-order again if anyone missed out and changed their mind btw).
>>11856649Another look at goat man.
>>11856646These are from a different company (Almighty Collectibles I believe) that are using the SC base body, they've been showcasing them for them for a while now. Theyre looking pretty nice and are probably finally pretty close to release.
>>11856650Nikki was on....3PoA I think recently. Sounds like he may not come with all three heads.>>11856649Juuust want the buck, unfortunately.
>>11856666Ah right sorry.
>>11856646>>11856666Holy shit, I almost forgot about these. I had to check Kickstarter to see if it was the same one I remember or a different company making a similar figure. I don't think they are using the SC base body, because the Kickstarter never mentioned it (and was around the same time as the SC KS) unless things changed since then. They are probably just sharing a booth at SDCC.
>>11854162Back when Mythic Legions was first rolling out, I went on a spree of trying to find similarly compatible fantasy figures to help augment my impending knights, orcs and skeletons. I found this dude and the skeleton horse at a local toy show for dirt cheap and they helped build my at the time growing horde. Over time I split my Legions skeletons from the rest of my undead horde and this guy sadly ended up in a storage bin somewhere in my house, though the skeleton is still with my Legions, being ridden by Keltus. Getting a Legions version of him is a dream I didn't even know I wanted, but he is now a day one pre-order for me. The other two are kind of riding the line though, budget at the time of their sale will decide if I grab em or not, but they both look very excellent. >>11856066Great, as if I needed MORE Conans in my collection. >>11856070Interesting if they plan to do all three looks in one set, or just release multiple sets. I can see them easily doing the center and far right ones in single set, as all they'd need is some spare legs, a soft goods dress and a second head. >>11856648Man, everyone doin bears these days. >>11857036Nah, those look to be Savage Crucible bucks, they have that same awkward bean-joint set up. They probably worked together on the figures with SC doing the core body.
Mezco showed their Thief Conan. Looks like he comes with the wind-swept hair for his post-resurrection look, too.
Fury Toys not-Wonder Woman/Valkyrie character is going to have three options, the not-Wonder Woman red armour one, the fully armoured one and just an accessory pack I assume to use if you already have a blank Fury body. I personally like the armoured one, but they all look cool. Keep in mind this base body is pretty huge, it's about almost 7 inches I believe.
>>11858091Close up.
>>11858094Some more info on their Sylvanas as well. Seems like it will have two versions as well and I'm not sure what is going on with the head, I think it might be like how Xococann does a separate pack for the Street Fighter heads for their characters, they will be doing something similar.
>>11858105I can't keep up with the amount of expensive shit we are getting, going to have to make some difficult choices.
>>11858091Oh also there will be an axe she comes with.>>11857375>Great, as if I needed MORE Conans in my collection.Yeah it's getting crazy and it feels like we might just be warming up. I don't know if any of you follow the current Jim Zub comic run, but it's good stuff.>Interesting if they plan to do all three looks in one set I will try and see if I can find any info from their panel about this, but I suspect it will be like their Conan, a standard and deluxe edition, the latter probably exclusive to their store.
>>11858091Hot damn dem hips. Though honestly, I think I'd prefer the red armor look more if she used one of them greek skirts she's been getting since the live action movie. >>11858105>>11858106I never played WoW, but this figure is too nice to pass up. I also find it funny how I dislike the bikini armor on the Wonder Woman figure, but like it on this figure. Maybe it's that Sylvanas actually does have armor in other places or I just prefer Wondie with her flappy skirt, but the look works better on one then the other for me. >>11858134>current Jim Zub comicSadly I really don't keep up with any comics and have only been randomly grabbing Conan comics in TPB forms. There's just so many damn versions out there it's hard to keep track of which is good and which isn't worth it or even what I already have. Will have to look up the current stuff though, who's putting it out these days?
>>11858193>who's putting it out these days? It's by Titan Comics, been really solid, most of it is a proper throwback to the more classic comics and with Heroic Signatures consolidating a lot of the Howard/Conan adjacent IPs, they are having some fun with things in their various comics.
>>11858193Forgot to say, starts with this trade, Bound in Blackstone, you can buy larger collected editions now I think, we're up to 7 trades with volume 8 coming out around October I believe.
>>11856646Thanks. I'm really excited for those various old sword and sorcery based figures. It's great to have the, like, elder kings of the genre get representation. After them it'd be nice to one day to get to Whee of Time, Malazan, the Cosmere, and so forth. A lot of those have very distinct characters that'd be great on a shelf.
>>11854290>>11854670Anyone here have the Frazetta Universe John Carter figure? He looks really fun. Other purchases are taking priority though. Hopefully he's still in stock by the time I get to him.
>>11858091i assume the acc pack is the red armor?
>>11857375>Nah, those look to be Savage Crucible bucksI had to do some digging on this, because like I said, the Kickstarter was not long after the Savage Crucible KS and made no mention of any partnership with them, and they had their own design sketches for the parts breakdown of the buck they were making. But like I also said, I hadn't been paying attention to any news about it because I kind of forgot it existed.tldr; you are correct. They are the SC buck.Basically, Almighty Legends went to shit during preproduction. They didn't have a clue what they were doing, had not come close to meeting minimum order quantities for the factory they chose from their Kickstarter pledges alone and hadn't secured any retailer interest. Also they probably didn't set their goal high enough for the project to be completed. They cleared minimum funding, but realistically they needed to unlock most stretch goals for the project to happen. It was pretty much a doomed project that wasn't going to be able to fulfil anything until Harvinger Studio stepped in and let them use the Savage Crucible buck to make the project a reality. And mind you, even with Harvinger's help, they still can't fulfil wave 1. There's is an unforeseen QC issue that they won't go into detail about in the most recent update on their KS page, so they have decided to delay again despite production being mostly done.
>>11858816I didn't really follow their KS but that's some interesting info. It's always nice to see smaller companies helping each other though, but still sad they're having so many issues. I can only imagine how much shit they're getting from some backers over this, but at least they seem to be forthcoming with all their progress. It seems they're going to put out something though so hopefully both the company and the backers are able to get what they want from the whole project.
>>11858597If you mean the 1/12 one I do, I did a messy write up last thread >>11848664 but tl;dr he's got a really gorgeous aesthetic, sculpt, shading, colours, lovely accessories with average articulation that is a little underwhelming at the elbows and knees, though the knee joints are extremely smooth. I have also seen there is an issue with paint rub from the brown harness, I didn't get any on the main body, but there was a little on the underside of his bicep. Despite Frazetta Girls figures being on the weaker side articulation wise, I always find them satisfying to handle and they look amazing.
So does anyone know what the big ass dog Savage Crucible have been showing off is from?
>>11859125Better view of doggo's armor
>>11859125>>11859128They're going to release a line of "Battle Danes" because they really like Great Danes.
>>11859160That is insane, and I'm all for it. I won't go all in on the line, but I'm definitely interested enough to grab one or two.
I love it. Looks like the green martian is a base/scenery piece for the painting look which will probably make her more expensive, which I will be sad about if that's the case, but then again Woola is quite large and John cost the same as their other figures, so maybe not. Anyway, I think she's gorgeous, really glad they went with the redder skin instead of sticking strictly to the painting, they went with book authenticity. Pre-order in September.
>>11860099Damn that looks amazing.
>>11860252The tits are nice, what're you on about?
>>11860252>>11860265>doesn't know from experience what big natural tiddies do when they escape their enclosure
>>11860339DFC is better as you get older. Well, when they get older. Less chance of them sagging and looking like a sock full of quarters taped to her chest.
>>11851379Really hope they make more dragons, this one was just too generic for my taste. I might have pulled the trigger though it if weren't green.
>>11860857A magenta dragon connoisseur I see.
>>11860920Only the colour out of space will do.
>>11860099As much as I'd like to get into Icon Collectables and Eamon O'Donoghue's shit, I got that Heroic Signatures Conan he did and I just do not like how it feels and looks in hand, especially for the price. I believe Eamon's figure design philosophy is dated and way behind the likes of the Savage Crucible figures, which I love. I will keep my eyes on this Dejah Thoris tho. I always watch Eamon's figure demonstration vids on youtube out of curiosity. Is the John Carter figure truly worth it?
>>11851379>>11860857My ideal pipedream would be one with the same colors as Maleficent when she turns into a dragon. Green fire and all
>>11860943I agree with you on his dated articulation, it's for sure a weird hookup of his personality. He has a really aggressively defensive mindset when anyone even slightly criticises or comments on aspects of his figures that even verge on negative, he's outright patronising and demeaning, will act like it's completely impossible to do it differently. Like if you look at any review of his figures on youtube, even on tiny channels, he will be in the comments getting pissy with the reviewer if they even say one negative, clearly he has quite the ego. He was very hostile when people asked for double jointed knees on his first figures and acted like it can't be done to look good and then he goes and does it on all his figures now. I will say they are generally improving, but the designs are already out there it's not like he has to invent better articulation. On the flipside, I genuinely don't think anyone does sculpts as aesthetically pleasing as his. The musculature and individual shape for each character is just superior to everyone else for me, they look far better than the Savage Crucible humans to me for instance. Even now as I have much better articulated figures, I still find myself favouring John and Conan over most of them and I play around with them all the time. I will also say, that the Heroic Signatures one isn't of the same quality level as the Frazetta Girls figures, they are better detailed, painted and designed, though the articulation is more poesable on the HS one. I chalk it up to being the first of that line, I still like that Conan, but I expect better going forward. They are all too expensive I think though, you kind of pay the sort of arty indie tax, which I am just about okay with as I really do love them and they are of that unique, particular aesthetic that speaks to me, but I think they are objectively overpriced. They are kind of my guilty pleasure figures that I openly forgive them their faults.
>>11860963You remind me of my brother heh, he has always been big into dragons, but they have to be in the right style or that head is going on a stake and triggering a world buff.
>>11860943Oh and on the John Carter, I think if you're hesistant or need convincing then he's an easy pass. I like the books and have an attachment to the character and he's a very nice looking figure, excellent sculpt, paint and finish, feels nice to handle, but if you weren't excited about having a John Carter I don't think you'll even remember the figure exists in a few weeks, it's not some bar pushing figure in any way. He also has some issues with paint staining from the harness I have seen some people suffer from, I was fortunate to only have a little on the under arm, but still unacceptable for how expensive they are really.
>>11861001kek
Speaking of Frazetta Girls, their other reveal was a Shi figure, which came out of the blue and has me really interested, looks cool. That's really stretching the bounds of the fantasy theme though, so I didn't think I should post it, but just thought I'd mention that they didn't have any other fantasy things revealed, aside from the next wave of the Frazetta Universe, MoTU Origins style figures.
>>11860857Green gets the peen
>>11858941Nice, thank you. I went for him using the 15% off coupon on Frazetta Girls website. This will be my first Frazetta Girls figure. It seems like we're getting spoiled on figures related to Conan lately. I don't know who decided to capitalize on it and stuff like John Carter, but I'm all for it! I had several figures from the old Tarzan figure toyline as a kid and loved them.>>11860099She looks great!
>>11860099Zamn!
>>11860099God damn
>>11861045>aside from the next wave of the Frazetta Universe, MoTU Origins style figures.Do you have pics or info I can't find anything.
>>11861507Nevermind I got it. It was weirdly hard to find.
>>11861045>That's really stretching the bounds of the fantasy theme thoughEh, we talk about Cosmic Legions here just because they are from 4H. I don't see how Shi is any further out of bounds from fantasy. Shi is pretty much Japanese low fantasy, depending on how literally you want to interpret the demon that haunts her. And she crossed over with Lady Death and Vampirella.
>>11861523>Shi is pretty much Japanese low fantasyThis. Her whole getup is practically no different than the bikini armor on Red Sonja.
>>11861045>>11861523>stretching the bounds of the fantasy theme thoughYea, we don't really have any hard and fast rules that preclude specific genres or what have you. If it's even closely related to some sort of fantasy concept it's welcomed here. Just don't intentionally abuse the laxness of the thread and things will be fine and dandy.
>>11861599That's what I figured. It in the spirit of the thread. Like how John Carter is fine, but Darth Vader would be pushing it.
>>11861523>>11861599>>11861552Fair enough. Well on Shi, I think she looks great, I really am a sucker for their stuff. I'm interested to see what the "new articulation" is like and I know it's Icon, but I wonder if it's Eamon's project again or someone else's on their team this time.
>>11862408I'm personally taking a punt on Sobek, but that's their first figure so who knows how it will turn out. They showed an articulation prototype cutting some nice poses, but we'll have to wait and see.
>>11850889>and DinosaursBeen out of the loop for a while but what happened to the Dino/Jurassic general? Last time I saw a thread was when the recent slew of Hammond Collection figures were announced (Indominus, Scropios Rex) but the general just seem to have disappeared after that.
>>11862408I got the Xesray one and Sobek on preorder. Skipped the Rockclaw ones for a couple of reasons. Partially due to the price on BBTS (though the 5k price makes it more tempting depending on how much shipping will be to Aus), the fact that Bombusbee had no final price and their shipping has been all over the place recently, but the biggest one being selection paralysis. I think I want C03 the most because of his long snout, but I hate his accessories. So I C02 it is? I would know I'm just compromising. And their price for what is included feels a bit steep compared to Sobek, though his quality is a bit of an unknown since the company hasn't released anything.>were there any othersThere is Crocker from Maestro Union, but he isn't very medieval, though you can strip him down to just his pants and pretend blue denim isn't an anachronism. The BBTS exclusive version of Crocker has black pants that work better in a fantasy setting, but I preferred the skin coloration on the regular version.
>>11862614That general's existence isn't very consistent. It's sometimes there and sometimes it isn't
>>11862614>what happened to the Dino/Jurassic generalIt comes and goes, like Army Men general. I guess they don't have a regular OP and it's just a case of someone will bake a thread when there are a heap of announcements or they get some stuff they want to show off. Someone started a thread a month or two ago asking if they should buy a Super Colossal Rex or put the money towards Jurassic World Evolution 3, and it just kind of turned into a Dino general after a few replies.
>>11862628>>11862630Yeah I remember that Super Colossal Rex thread, even gave some advice to OP to help them decide, but it's good to hear that nothing weird happened.
>>11862624>>11862528Ah I was thinking the makers of sobek were like the guys who did the big azur lion I have. I'm so used to Chinese makers changing names every 3 months from dbz I thought they were similar. Guess I'll wait and hope sobek had extra stock on 5k and use my points. By the way time he comes out he'll probably be free lol.
>>11862698>the guys who did the big azur lion I haveWas that the Fury Toys or the Notta Azure Lion? Fury Toys do tend to change their name or create shell companies to legally distance themselves from their TMNT knock offs, but they would have no reason to do it for Sobek since he doesn't infringe any IP. I wouldn't be surprised if Magic Craftsman Studio have split off from one of the well known Chinese companies to go their own way. It is a really intricate figure for an unknown company's first offering.
>>11862723Mine was fury toys
>>118627545k still had sobek so I preorderd him. They are coming out with so many Egyptian girls I needed a reptile deity they could worship
>>11863422Oh sweet, I heard they were going to reveal the 4th Skeleton Warrior after SDCC. Looks like this one only has extraneous parts that are cybernetic, so he's gonna fit in with the Necro army with little effort.>>11863424Good old Twisted Mego Theatre.
Managed to get King No'glin, and he arrived today. I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to attach the red under-cloak (it hasn't got any holes to put the shoulder pads through, unlike the black one) but otherwise I love him. Looks great leading my other goblins.
>>11863911Are you the goblin Anon who is craving the big titty gobbo girls?
>>11863911Pictures so I can look out for what to buy
>>11863911Those early figures had some of the worst soft goods of any toyline, more scraps of cheap fabric then quality capes, and no real instructions on how most of em worked. Basically, anyway you can get it to fit is the right way, even if that means making your own holes. The best thing to do is just buy new, custom soft goods though. There's plenty of better indy shops out there that can improve the older figures. Look up Forge-Knight Studios on google or Action_Figure_Armory on ebay for some good choices.
>>11864014I just found out this guy from Metytoys existed, I want to po him but I'll be short on cash till the end of next month. Do you know if he'll be shipped soon? Cause I'll have to skip on him if true.
>>11864274Well fuck, didn't mean to reply and had to post this
>>11864275I think he's sold out everywhere at this point, no choice but to pay on BBTS
>>11863911The two cloaks should have the same holes, so it seems like they forgot to punch the holes in the red cloak. I think I remember a few people saying they had that issue back when he was first released.
Spartalia, next Xesray girl. One of these will be the WF Shanghai exclusive, guessing the black one.
>>11864509
>>11864510
>>11864511
>>11863988I don't know if I'm the specific anon you're talking about but I do fit that description...>>11864014Oh huh, thanks! Will definitely take a look at those.
>>11864509Looks like she'll be using the new upcoming bigger female buck, because of the veins and arm muscles.
>>11863422I REALLY hope we get heroes soon or at the very least Prince Lightstar (The MC) or maybe even Grimskull (The only cool hero who's not a shameless MOTU rip-off)It's a well-known fact that one of the likely reasons the original failed was Playmates releasing the villains first and heroes later (As well as being aimed at the wrong target audience). Granted this line is going to be aimed at older audiences but still.
>>11854927>of the creators is allegedly a sex perv.No. These days I need some hard evidence it's not just another vengeful foid doing foid things.
>>11864661Oh, it's a gay thing. Same shit.
>>11864661No foids involved. Gary Goddard has been accused of sodomizing little boys for a long time. Even Goose from Top Gun claimed Goddard molested him.
>>11864509>>11864510Nice, I always dig a chick with a nice axe. I prefer the gold one over the God of War lookin one, so hopefully she's easier to come by. >>11864661You act like 90% of those accusations don't end up being legit. But then attitudes like yours is why so many people can get away with doing that crap to people.
>>11854927>given how one of the creators is allegedly a sex perv. That makes it even better!
Finally got notice for the Xesray US WF exclusive from 5k
>>11865188>You act like 90% of those accusations don't end up being legitYou're right of course, except we're not talking about some worldwide case Google statistic that incluses all the brown countries. We're talking about guys with money and the floozies they cross paths with.
>>11866210>We're talking about guys with money and the floozies they cross paths withI doubt Gary Goddard has ever had sex with a woman. You seem to be confused because anon said "alleged sex perv" when he should have said "NAMBLA member."
>>11866078I'm still waiting on the Cassia I ordered from BBTS. She's taking extra long to show up for them.>>11866210Misogynist AND racist? You're certainly winning the game there bud. Why not go for the hat trick of ignorance and out yourself as a flat earther as well.
Anyone here owns a Ghost Rabbit / Yoto Toys skellie? I want to get one of their snake skeletons, but I'm not sure about their quality/articulation. I like how cartoonish their main skeletons look.
>>11866721I got a pair and they're...ok. If you like their aesthetic that's half the problem solved, but their articulation is nothing ground breaking or exceptional. It gets the job done, but these guys aren't gonna be yoga masters or pulling off sick Jojo poses. Quality wise, they feel kind of....waxy. Almost a softer plastic but not to the point where they're warping under their own weight. The joints are solid though, made out of a much harder plastic and for the most part they hold together well. Neither one I have has any floppy or lose joints and neither of them feel like they'll break if I move em. I wouldn't pay full price for more of these guys, but the snake skeletons and mimic both look really fun. If you can get em for any kind of a discount though I'd say go for it. Again, if you like their looks you won't be too disappointed in em in hand.
>>11866795In terms of looks, I like them, they're not accurate as, say, the Storm Golden Axe or the Kaiyodo ones, but not chunky enough to barely ressemble a Skeleton like the Mythic Legions, I find them in a good middle point. As for articulation, that's fine as well, based on their looks, they probably have single-jointed elbows and knees, as long as the torso moves fairly well and can do splits I consider myself served. The lack of toe articulation kinda kills it for me but eh.>I wouldn't pay full price for more of these guysYeahhhhh, they ain't cheap for what's it's offered, at least the snake ones are like $70 for a single unit. But I gotta decide fast cause they'll be out of stock any moment now, and then I'll have to pay scalpers on eBay for double the price. >Quality wise, they feel kind of....waxy. Almost a softer plastic but not to the point where they're warping under their own weight.That's...an interesting way to describe them. I guess I have to own one to find out. Most of the figures I own are PVC and POK so I guess this is gonna be a new feel, if I get one of course.Btw I was checking reviews on Youtube and there's a shitton of these skellies, how come the usual sites like Gundamit or BBB only sell the snakes, mimics and those weird He-man ones? There's plenty of variants and in different outfits/armor and colors, like a minotaur, translucent ones, a Monkey King skeleton, minis and so on. Man I sucks I get to miss on them.
Speaking of skeles I bought some of these on aliexpress because they're just a few bucks, and there's a glow in the dark green one. It's very funny that the promo pics and instructions all say to put the bones so the tibia/fibula and femur are swapped around, same for the arms.
>>11866827i have the gold and white one, and you can swap the head to the knight of same brand to become somekind of undead knight. pretty fun toys to play around
>>11866237>"NAMBLA member."Yikes.>>11866379>Misogynist AND racist?Reality is racist. But your assumption, that's projection on your part.
When are we getting a new Figura Obscrua from 4H? We have not had a new release since November, when we got Thoth and Mouse King. There are so many good ideas from public domain works; I am shocked we do not get more.
>>11867453Just like Linkara's History of Power Rangers series, Figura Obscura has NO SET SCHEDULE.But I'd say soonish. They usually have a FO release in the Fall these days, like Frankenstein and Jersey Devil. I think recently they usually get 3 per year out, one in spring, one in fall, and one just before Christmas. Ganesha was the spring release last year, but they have been pretty busy this year with the RPG Kickstarter and then two waves of figures going up for preorder, and all the stuff that's been coming into stock. Getting Mouse King and Thoth in such a short timespan was a surprise last year, so I think Thoth could probably be counted as the spring release for this year since it was more of a surprise Legionscon debut that didn't fully go on sale until after the new year. I wouldn't be surprised if they have one in the next couple of weeks and the usual one for Christmas.
>>11867453>>11867516Yea they basically said they DON'T want FO drops to work on a set, expected schedule anymore as the whole point of the line is to be a surprise. It's why they started the Graveyard series to do Halloween figures and changed up their Xmas figure from Christmas Carol characters to something entirely new. If anything, I'd expect the Skeleton Warriors pre-order to happen before the next FO drop, and the next FO drop itself will most likely be something completely off the wall.
>>11867549>If anything, I'd expect the Skeleton Warriors pre-order to happen before the next FO dropWe got a date for the Skeleton Warriors when they were shown at SDCC. Preorder starts this Friday.
I said I would try to avoid buying two of the same character and yet here I am ordering a second Sylvanas. I didn't think we'd ever get one and two come along in relatively quick succession. They can go with my two Conans... I love the one I already have, but the Fury Toys blue one has a more classic look and is different enough to make me fold. I'm coping that Warcraft figures are niche and DMCAable enough, that they won't be around long, so these may be the only versions to be made for the foreseeable future.
>>11868087They have others like arthas, illidan and rexxar. I haven't ordered them but I may now to go with sylvanas.
>>11867661....because they didn't just get enough of my money last week with their Cosmic stuff. At least I'll be able to settle on just getting one of these guys, the cyborg ones don't really do it for me and the samurai one just looks silly. A cool silly, but I don't really have any attachment to the concept. >>11868087So from my understanding, the good news is that third party companies won't be making as many, if any, WoW figures anymore. The bad news is that they're not making them because Joytoy has the official license and they'll start making them. Seeing what they've been doing with Warhammer...they're gonna make a lot. Not sure if they'll be "1:18" or 1:12 scale, I'm sure someone who's more up to date on that news can fill in the blanks if that info has even been shared yet.
>>11868122>fell for the Cosmic memeSorry, I'm just ribbing ya. I might get a couple of that robot Legion Builder and maybe the brain alien from BBTS, but I am now very picky with Cosmic because it does nothing for me compared to Mythic. When I went all in on the first Oxkrewe wave, it kind of fucked up my ability to buy as much as I wanted from the Ashes of Agbendor wave which I ended up preordering from BBTS to kick the can down the road. And getting that Oxkrewe wave in hand, they are really nice, but I get more "wow factor" from knight and skeleton repaints than I did from newly sculpted Cosmic figures. Lesson learned. As for Skeleton Warriors, I'm still trying to figure it out. Aracula and the samurai one are locked in for the Mythic skellie horde. The one that was on the cover of Toycollectr magazine is a maybe, depending on how much of his tech parts are removable. And Dr Cyborn is a maybe. I know I just spent half a post saying that Cosmic doesn't do much for me, but the idea of a Cosmic Legions skellie is tempting. In other news related to this thread, and in response to >>11866721 I just got my 3 pack of YotoToy Snakeman Skeletons from Bombusbee. I'm leaving them next to a heater for a day or two, since it's winter here in Australia. I don't like risking snapping joints in the cold even if it doesn't snow here. It was 35° in freedom units last night while it was in the sorting depot. That's just above freezing. Actually it was probably below freezing there since that city is usually 2°C colder. So expect a review in a day or two, because I'm kind of excited about these guys. Love snakes.Love skellies.Simple as.
>>11868122>Joytoy WoW figures>Not sure if they'll be "1:18" or 1:12 scale, I'm sure someone who's more up to date on that news can fill in the blanks if that info has even been shared yet.I don't think we know anything, but their upcoming Starcraft line appears to be 1/25, to allow for larger units. I don't know how WoW compares to SC in that sense, whether they'd want to follow that same logic or do a more traditional, human scale centered line of 1/18 figures.Speaking of that, I think I remember reading that their Warhammer scale was debatable too, because their dudes are supposed to be huge. Maybe it was 1/25 and they marketed it as 1/18 because of that? Well, I just came to say that the new Starcraft line seems to be 1/25 and I've digressed without knowing much.
I got these guys yesterday. They're really nice. Looking forward to Gandalf and the Goblin. Hope they keep going and we get some dwarves.
>>11866721Ok, so I had a free day, and the snake skellies had sat in a warm room overnight, so here goes. What >>11866795 says about the previous releases feeling waxy, that's also how I felt about them, but the snakes have a much better feel. The plastic feels almost the same as a Mythic Legions, and the joints mostly feel slightly better toleranced, especially compared to the mimic which had a bit of trouble supporting the weight of the heavy treasure chest. I say mostly because I do have a couple of ankles that feel a bit loose, but nothing too bad. They include a heap of spare joints with each one. They also have the bonus of including a human/orc skull (depending which one you buy) and coccyx so you can turn them into normal skellies, but you aren't going to want to go that because the snake neck and tail have so much extra articulation you'll want to keep them as snakes.Overall, these are damn cool. Not sure if I would be as happy if I paid BBTS retail for them, but I think I only paid $150 from Bombusbee for the 3 plus $10 boat shipping, and because I'm a spaz for snakes and skeletons, it was well worth it.
>>11869090Now onto the negatives. The instructions will tell you not to expose them to extreme temperatures because it could degrade the plastic, but there's is no fucking way in hell you are getting the tail in without heating up the socket in the pelvis. Sure, it's winter here, so I kept them in a warm room of the house overnight as a precaution. Removing the feet and hands to put the greaves and gauntlets on was no issue even without hot water (and might be why a couple of ankles are loose now), but those fucking tails. I swear I thought I was going to break a tail joint trying to assemble it until I said yolo and put his butt in hot water without putting the hips in so I wouldn't be fucking up the tolerances of the leg joints. The same goes for some of the weapon and armor pieces, especially the shoulder pauldrons, and shield which required you to put in these tiny little male-to-male 2mm pegs. You aren't getting them in without heating up the sockets they go into first. And the holes in the pauldrons and the shoulder blade are slightly different sizes, so the pegs only go one way. I hope you can spoot a half mm difference in diameter. And finally, the aesthetics. The armor and shield have 3mm holes all over them for some sort of modular function, but I think it was unnecessary and detracts from the look. But overall, would I recommend? If you like snakes and unique skeletons, hell yeah. If you can only afford one, I would say either the Viper Guard or Rattlesnake Scout. Viper has the longest and most articulated neck and tail, but the Scout has something about him.
>>11869092We are nowhere near image limit, so I'll post a few more unprofessional photos.I got tired of them falling over in the dirt at the bottom of that tree stump, and my back was killing me from bending down so low to snap the photos, so the rest are just using that rotten tree stump as a nice flat base for them to stand...until the fucking wind picks up and blows them over.
>>11869098Rattlesnake Scout, my second fave. My shitty photo skills omitted his rattler, but it's visible in the previous group shot.
>>11869102This one is the Viper Guard, and is probably my fave of the bunch. The only thing I don't like about him are his shitty bracelets that ride up his arm if you move it to high. He also has the longest neck and tail, so of course I failed to show how well articulated his tail is. You can get a real nice natural curve in it.
Hey someone mentioned a Goblin King figure? Not the Labyrinth one. Was wanting to see if I could track one down.
>>11869106And finally, the Haf Snake-Man. Probably my least favourite, mainly because his pauldrons and helmet are the same as the superior Viper Guard, so he feels less unique. And his neck and tail are the stumpiest of the 3. I don't hate him, but if you have to cut someone due to prices, I'd ditch him.
>>11869112>HafShould be Half Snake-Man.Me fail English? That unpossible! Finally, for the anon that wanted to see how the spare Ardenscale head looks on the green Thraxxian, yeah, I'm not sure it works without a paint job. And really, the only real difference between the Thraxxian and Ardenscale's body is ttjat Ardenscale has the reptilian upper calf pieces, snake tail, and the reptilian backplate from Olek Thygar. Really, Ardenscale is better value overall. If the choice is between buying a Thraxxian or another Ardenscale, I'd definitely get Ardenscale again.
>>11869109You want King No'glin from the second Kickstarter. No idea what he goes for these days. I hope he gets a Legacies update.
>>11869118fuuuuck, thanks for the info though
>>11869121>fuuuuckI'm guessing that's in reference to the price?I'm not sure I want to know.
>>11869127haven't checked but it probably will be. Was hoping it was just some readily available thing I could order on bbts/gundamnit or something
>>11868361Oh no please, rib away. I'm kickin myself for falling for the Cosmic meme as well. I honestly had the same exact feeling after getting my OxKrewe wave and pretty much told myself "never again" with Cosmic..............and then they dropped a Space Knight. Like, that's the kind of concept I wanted from this line all along. Space Knights and Orcs and Skeletons (which the robot kind of is). Throw in the two very unique Legion Builders, complete with swappable armor and gear, and I very much got got by this wave. I already had Kalian Shunn, but felt she never really fit in with other figures. But with the Space Knight and Space Soldier (who will get space knight's extra sword), her blues will fit right in. Throw in a robot with some of Space Soldier's gear and there's an instant party of four of Space Fantasy figures. And then I also grabbed the Ninja because he matches Zeerian Spyre perfectly. She can get some of his extra swords and now they're an Assassin Buddy duo to go around harassing the Space Knight quartet. This wave kind of filled in a lot of holes I felt I had in my collection and helped galvanize some of the subgroups I was trying to build in the line. As much as I planned on skipping it entirely, they just hit me right where it hurts with some of these designs.>>11869090>>11869092Fantastic pictures and a very informative write-up. I had a few of these guys pre-ordered back in the day but had to cancel due to surprise budget issues, but I'm sad I missed them. If I find myself with some surplus funds though they're very much on my short list so it's good to know which ones are worth it. >>11869118>>11869121>>11869127From a quick search, you're looking at a $150 easy for this guy. Considering he's just a golden gob body with a very stella headsculpt, I personally don't feel it's worth it. That build feels very outdated these days and I feel he's a figure they could easily v2 at some point.
Has anyone seen updates for this totally not She-Ra figure recently? I am looking forward to it and the snake charmer lady from this company.
>>11870473There were some new photos of the snake women at an event recently, I'll try and hunt them down later, but nothing kn the She-Ra that I have seen.
Asking here as well. >>11871650
Oh yeah, these guys went up on Store Horsemen. Price is about what I was expecting. $45 for the normal dudes, and of course Aracula is $55. I like that they also show what the retailer price will be, since it helps me figure out if I can get what I want cheaper from BBTS than paying 4H's international shipping rate. The $15 increase on the regular guys is a bit much, but only $10 extra for Aracula is pretty good since I think I want an extra one of him for Turpiculi/monster skeleton purposes.
>>11871719Nice. Regular skeletons are an automatic pass for me because of the inaccuracies, but I'm 100% getting Aracula because it's a monster. I'd have gotten the Turpiculus back in the day, but he lacked a fucking pelvis, and the loicloth and belt were mandatory pieces.Do we know if Aracula is the same color as any particular previous skeleton? I have the monster/animal skull pack (lion, gorilla, orc...) and it would be nice if it's compatible, though that's not a deal breaker.
>>11871816>Do we know if Aracula is the same color as any particular previous skeletonI've been looking, and I haven't seen any info about that on Facebook. It looks a bit darker than the standard bone color from the Necro/All Star 6 wave, but I'm not 100% certain on that.Let's just post a Turpiculi pic from their photo archive to do a better comparison.
>>11871816And seeing them both on my screen without switching tabs, I'd say Aracula is much browner than the standard bone. Shame, I had a similar idea as you to use one of the skulls from that head pack. I might need to find some brown ink, or maybe some Warhammer contrast paint to even it out.
Just saw Nikki on Instagram say that there has been an update to the shipping timeline on the Savage Crucible website. Looks like Death Dealer is on the water.
>>11871719Dang wish I had 190 to just get them now. Says I have till the 27th so I'll make it work before then. Hopefully
>>11869090>>11869092>>11869098Holy crap what a complete explanation, I guess I'll pull the trigger and get one, but first I need to save some money cause these things aren't cheap, at least not in my currency.
Q: Should I remove the armor from Xesray WF Exclusive Berenice when storing her in the box to prevent paint transfer? I seem to recall people having that issue with the regular version.
Looks great so far. I'll open her up after dinner
