What’s on the workbench, /toy/?Sculpts, Castings, 3D-Prints, Dioramas, Modifications, Kit-Bashes, and Plushies are all welcome!Post WIPs, finished projects, ideas, techniques, ask for advice, and most of all, have fun!>HELPFUL TIPS:-Invest in a rotary tool such as a dreml for sanding/sculpting, especially a flexible extension tip.-Pin vises for drilling holes can be found at hobby stores like Hobby Lobby and are great for making peg holes.-For soft/flexible parts get Sugru silicone putty and Oyumaru, this can also be used to make copies of certain parts by using them as a two part mold.-Hardware epoxy putties such as Waterweld, KwikWood, and PlasticWeld are similar to milliput, greenstuff, and apoxie, can be cheaper some times, and can be found at local hardware stores such as Lowes, Ace, and Home Depot.-Bootleg figures make great custom-fodder, especially if the legit figures are pricey.-Body-chan/kun, Figma Archetype He/She, Romankey x Cowl, Notta toys Female/Male and Sozai-chan/kun are great base bodies for import-style human characters.-Silicone Grease/Oil is perfect for tight or stuck articulations on figures since it's not a solvent based lubricant that might damage or destroy some plastics, and it is made specifically to lessen friction of moving parts like those on a treadmill, meaning joints like those in Figmas or Revoltech's won't break as easy since the friction is lessened now.For 3D models to use for editing/printing, the following sites are good to bookmark:>yeggi.com (A search engine for 3d printable models all over the web)>models-resource.com (FREE 3D game models)>cgtrader.com (free and purchasable models)>cults3d.com (free and purchasable models)>turbosquid.com (free and purchasable models)>grabcad.com (free and purchasable models)>renderhub.com (free and purchasable models)>makerworld.com (free and purchasable models)>thangs.com (free and purchasable models)I hope you all have a Wonderful Summer!

Hi guys, I want to make a custom figure using Storm Arena Ken's torso and Nash's legs, but the balljoint doesn't fit and falls at the minimum movement. Is there a way to add something and stop the looseness?
>>11854208if you dont want something permanent, you can wrap the joint in Teflon tape, or plumbers tape its called sometimes.Its not sticky at all, but does stick to itself with a tight wrap.I use this on my action figures where i want a tighter hold on a ball joint.

>>11854323It has for me, kept a lot of of my heavy mythic Legions standing up right for a while now. Moving around the joint can shift the tape around, but at that point, you have the tightness you want.

When i tested my paint with a few lines, it looked ok, but then after finishing everything, i realised it's too shiny. But then i'm too lazy to redo everything, so i'm like screw it, whatever kek

I was already working on something like this with the camo head from the current movie and trying to see what can be subbed from both lines and elsewhere. I also have some fantasy figures I want to try some Classified gear or Marvel Legends weapons and gear - and especially some of the comically oversized McFarlane weapons, like that Frankenstein gun, and just ordered a Mattel movie figure from the 2017 Wonder Woman movie. It was only $10 bucks remaindered at Walmart, which fits my fodder buck budget, to give me a female body to go with the male body I already have fodder parts for.But if I like how these all end up looking, I might try the OP suggestion of looking for cheap KO fantasy figures for fodder bodies to do an entire shelf's worth of display characters. And enough people were saying on the ML Gen that they had just used the fine point Sharpie and to just add a finish coat so it wouldn't smear and be even more permanent.

I use cheap office supply blu tack putty or the cheap 3M or generic brand poster adhesive you can get at Staples or Target for most everything else.PICREL has both arms broken off, and poster adhesive is what I use, for display posing. Obv it needs a permanent fix, which I have been too lazy to attempt - since no one really offers one good solution, particularly for these older DC Direct type ABS plastic figures.
