None, but I don't collect live action stuff. Maybe Cyclops if I ever see him on sale, since I'm a Scottfag and love Marsden in the role. The brown boots trigger my autism though. Why would you commit so hard with every other aspect of that suit only to not do the yellow boots and gloves?
>>
>>11861910
the figure would've been based on concept art before they finalized the actual shooting costume, and he'd ended up with brown boots in the movie people would've complained if hasbro went with yellow boots thinking it looked better

Decided to grab the Gladiator and Deathbird two pack while it's slightly discounted on Amazon. While I'm not a huge fan of the Shi'ar, I always thought Gladiator had a sick design and the figure is a good representation of it. Cape sucks, but it is what it is with the hard plastic ones.

The thrid party cape scene for him is a nightmare for autistic people. The best option for years was for whatever reason colored super brightly, and then when this new two pack version came out that actually did have bright colors, they changed the length of his collar to be shorter. So if you wanted one that was as high as the plastic capes collar you either had to get an old one or get fucked.

I agree with you, but I do find it a little funny you need a calculator to figure out that $20 to $30 is a 50% increase. Also, unlike most of the pay piggies that cheered the removal of BAFs, I clocked right away this was a huge decrease in the value of an average figure. If a BAF piece is roughly $10 in value, then a $30 figure is a 100% price increase (!!!) over a $25 figure with a BAF [25 - 10 = 15 x 2 = 30].

Of course, this is all part of the overall market trend to sell action figures exclusively to collectors who largely make emotional purchases without considering value. Right now, Mattel is the only major company selling cheap and high value action figures with their 5.5" MOTU movies figures for $10 and 6.5" DC playline figures for $15. Whether they will remain at those prices, or were temporarily priced as "loss leaders" to kickstart their new toylines remains to be seen.
>>
>>11862276
Then explain the tremendous overhead of re-running an existing mold based on size and material quality
I'll wait
>>
>>11862281
Anon, that calculator uses inflation to show what MLs should cost if its prices increased by the inflation rate now, i.e. $25.79
>>
>>11862288
Inflation isn't the only cause of increasing prices though anon. We have the tariff bullshit that was pushed by both parties and then we have this bullshit war with Iran that has fucked the entire global economy even further.

However, even when you take those factors into account the cost of MLs, relative to everything else, remains fairly cheap. Sure, I would have talked at and never paid $27.99 for an ML even a decade ago, but in that same breath, I could also purchase myself an entire meal at McDonalds or Taco Bell for what it costs to buy just one pound of uncooked ground beef. Toys are still relatively inexpensive compared to everything else and that's what I base my opinion on. Not the actual dollar value, but the value relative to everything else in the world.

Still, I think the official "inflation rate" or whatever they claim is bullshit since so many items are outpacing it price wise. That's just my two cents. I fuckin hear ya brother. I'm the same way. I go shooting now maybe once a year. And when I go, I buy ammo for that outing and don't pull from my stockpile. It's an expensive hobby. I want a new light for my VP9, but the main thing holding me back from getting it is, I don't want to have to pay an EXTRA $250-$300 on top of whatever the light costs to replace my Safariland duty holster with one that can accept a light attachment. >as stated before countless times I'm these threads, these figures are budgeted by wave.
but that's not factoring in that Gambit was probably prototyped earlier than the others based on Deadpool 3 shit, and how the most recent wave of Deadpool 3 figures seems like they might've swapped out a more interesting figure for the random grey deadpool that wasn't even in the movie
>>
>>11862373
You don't know what Gambit was prototyped for. You're just making assumptions. And that doesn't preclude the fact that the cost to produce the figure, molds and all, are probably budgeted to this wave. So it doesn't matter when someone designed him.

This week's episode of 97 was definitely one of the best of this season for me. Really felt like an episode of the old show, but unconstrained by 90s cartoon censorship. Also greatly expanded my toy wishlist, especially for a certain variant of Colossus.
>>
>>11863814
I honestly thought it was the weakest imo. I dunno, I'm not feeling the latter half of the season quite as much as I was the first. We'll see how it ends though, we still have three episodes.
>>
>>11863814
>>11863819
I'm still a sucker for Nightcrawler-centric stories but I feel like the episode would've worked better if it was earlier in the season. This is the third to last episode and it barely has anything to do with the season's overarching plot.

Honestly the whole season has felt really disjointed. It feels like they're trying to juggle too many characters and subplots and not really managing it.
>>
>>11863819
>>11863835
Fair criticisms. I think I enjoyed the last couple of episodes being standalones because I'm tired of every modern season of television being a 10-13 hour movie, but this being pitched as the Apocalypse season only for him to be largely absent from the second half is kind of lame.

I'm optimistic actually, unless the Ghost Rider movie gets put in the ice box permanently like Blade, we'll at the very least get 1 (probably 2) solid live action Ghost Rider figures, they might go all out of a bike for him, plus whatever gets made in terms of the comic version and villains
However the movie turns out (probably mid) I'm excited for that at least
>>
>>11863951

>Just remember, Sasha Baron Cohen is Mephisto.
aside from him being an annoying cuck irl I don't mind the casting, it's unfortunate he's only appeared in ironheart but I expect they'll dial him up more in the future
>>
>>11863954
It'd be fine to cast someone unlikable as the technical literal devil but the track record of getting villains right in the MCU is terrible. It's all going to be the same Feige mandates in the reboot anyway. They'll learn nothing. I love Gosling but I don't think he can save a project if it's too caught up in corporate incompetence. Just like Ali with Blade.
>>
>>11863959
well if anything I think ghost rider will verge on being too silly, like the deadpool movies, given the direction they've been going, but I'll still prefer that over them trying to pull a fast one like they wanted to do with Blade where the movie is really about like that one mexican chick who was ghost rider in the comics for like 5 seconds
but I think the second ghost rider with cage being silly worked because that was done by the guys who did the crank movies, and the new one definitely won't be that crazy but I'd hope it's in that lane, unless they do actually try to go serious
>>
>>11863974
Neither options work. Ghost Rider is inherently serious & trying to make it a vehicle for versions that have never worked on their own would be suicide.
Cage Rider doesn't work. Cage is just able to ham it up as himself to make it entertaining. The second movie itself is a headache to watch.
>>
>>11863978
I've never taken Ghost Rider seriously, nor Spawn
>>
>>11863979
They're serious in tone regardless of the trying so hard to be gritty. The movie needs to be sincere & the MCU can't.

>>
>>11864079
My time dealing with MtG product has taught me otherwise. Thinking something is good or bad is completely subjective. What you think is bad, may be good to someone else. Get over yourself anon, just because you don't like something doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't either.

>>
>>11864134
You're gonna have a hard time convincing anyone this is better than a Mafex MCU Iron man except a teething toddler whose brain has not fully developed. But by all means, continue believing it is completely subjective.
>>
>>11864138
Not the argument I'm trying to make. You can list numerous objective facts that demonstrate an import figure is objectively better than the example you posted. However, that doesn't mean you or anyone else has to automatically think it's bad or good. Maybe someone thinks, for the price, that figure is a good deal and therefore more inline with what they are looking for than a Mafex. Or for someone else, maybe money is of no object, and the import figure is the best choice. That's the point I'm making. That just because YOU have a subjective opinion on something, doesn't make that opinion objective fact.

tldr; Get off your high horse, yes you can make a comparison and find objective reasons why one thing is better than another, but whether or not you think that thing is good or bad is completely subjective to you and you alone.

>>11864145
nta and I don't fully disagree with you but if we always appeal to subjectivity we'd still be at Toy Biz Electra for female sculps.
She was groundbreaking at the time, but people objectively realized the weird ass hips were a problem.
Objectively, getting the MCU Doom costume wrong is a problem in this figure.
>>
>>11864145
That's just semantics then. You're acknowledging objective "better"/"worse" qualities which leads to a natural stratification of figures. Where someone starts to call something "good" or "bad" is just at a point they decide to place a line on that existing spectrum, but good or bad are used as simplified shorthand colloquial statements to acknowledge the relative stratification.

Also I wouldn't really bring price into it, as the price doesn't make a good figure bad, it just decides whether someone will think it's worth buying. I could see some very impressive $5000 figure and acknowledge it's good, but not buy it because it's just out of my price range for action figures.
>>
>>11864156
>nta and I don't fully disagree with you but if we always appeal to subjectivity we'd still be at Toy Biz Electra for female sculps.
I don't disagree with this sentiment either. But let's go back to his original complaint, about the new ML Doom not being good enough. Tbqh, it's a fairly serviceable figure imo, the in person shots look better. Does the SHF look better? Oh yeah. If I were to get one of the two I would get the SHF, but I don't care either way, I'm just trying to make a point to the guy who's whole argument essentially boils down to "stop liking what I don't like".

>Objectively, getting the MCU Doom costume wrong is a problem in this figure.
Also agreed. But at the same time, this is nothing new with Hasbro and Marvel, you know you'll be getting a more screen accurate Doom later on down the line, so if that were really as big of a deal to someone, they'd either get the SHF, which I'm shocked actually did get closer to how it looks on screen (for now, you know Marvel Studios tweaks shit, even after the theatrical release of a movie), or wait for the inevitable deluxe or two pack Hasbro release that is more screen accurate.
>>
>>11864158
Anon, like I said in the above post, your argument essentially boils down to, "stop liking what I don't like".

>I could see some very impressive $5000 figure and acknowledge it's good, but not buy it because it's just out of my price range for action figures.
Lmao, this is the point I'm making little sister. Glad you were able to come to that conclusion all on your own though.
>>
>>11864164
Except when you're arguing people shouldn't refrain from buying a $27.99 Dr. Doom with many notable flaws, while I noted people can acknowledge a $5000 figure is good but still skip it because it's too expensive. That's not really the same thing at all. One is encouraging purchase of flawed figures, the other is encouraging skipping a figure that is too expensive for one's financial situation.
>>
>>11864167
If those flaws don't bother them then yeah, fucking go for it. Clearly more people don't care about them then you assumed would.

>One is encouraging purchase of flawed figure
Minor screen accuracies just aren't that big of a deal to people I guess. Sorry that it bugs you, but that's the way it is. If they want to buy it, let them. Again your whole argument boils down to "stop liking what I don't like" and you're not even denying it. Stop being such a baby.

There already is a better one available for pre order right now. It costs import prices though, and that's not for everyone. I said it earlier, if I were to get one of the two Dooms right now, it'd be the SHF. But I don't get my butthole all puckered if someone else prefers to get the ML for whatever reason.
>>
>>11864283

I dunno, I've completed three within the past six months between the Astonishing X-Men, the Outback X-Men, and the Dark Avengers. Feels pretty good. Also finished off Uncanny X-Force last year with Nightcrawler and Dark Angel. And then I put together the 97 version of X-Force after that episode aired, but I already had all the figures for that.

I'm actually struggling to think of any teams I'm currently waiting on finishing right now. I'd love a Grant Morrison era X-Men lineup and an O5 lineup but the New X-Men don't have any figures yet and the old TRU 5pack of the O5 is dog water.

>>11864608
No.
Someone mentioned the podcast that always leaks stuff says a new Doom ML would come out eventually.
The response was an irrelevant blogpost about how
>If I wanted one now (????) I'd get the bandai, for import prices
Which is irrelevant statement, and one that isn't even accurate, because that figure certainly isn't out "now"
And then that fag said it was "weird" for someone comment directly about them, even though they were the one who made an blogpost about their personal feelings on the matter.
If 4chan "weirds" you out so much, maybe you should go back.
>>
>>11864610
>Someone mentioned the podcast that always leaks stuff says a new Doom ML would come out eventually.
Actually, my original response was >>11864099
in response to >>11864038 seemingly being shocked that people who like Marvel action figures will by action figures of Marvel characters. And then it devolved into "well, you could just buy a better one" and it went from there. You're the one who got all hot and bothered by the fact that I'm not egregiously offended by the ML Doom.

>And then that fag said it was "weird" for someone comment directly about them, even though they were the one who made an blogpost about their personal feelings on the matter.
Reread the thread chum. I said it was weird how concerned some of you get over what toys I, a person you will never meet in real life, buys. Truth be told, I'm not buying any of the MCU Dooms because I don't give a fuck about Doomsday. I'm just making a point that just because you think something is bad, doesn't mean everyone else has to too. Again, get the fuck over yourself lol.
>>
>>11864616
>Reread the thread

>Post 1: The podcast says there will be a better ML Doom from the movie later
>Post 2: If I wanted one now, I'd get the SHF
>Post 3: Or you could wait for the ML
>Post 4: You're weird
>>
>>11864621
I never said "if I wanted one now, I'd get the SHF". I can't believe I'm going to spell this out for you, but I'd rather do this then pretend to work so here we go:

>>11864250 is the podcast post you were referring to, which SPECULATED, due to Hasbro's past track record with live action figures, that we would eventually get a more accurate Doom down the line. I asserted the very same thing at some point in our back and forth, for the record. I then replied that there already is a better one AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER right now. Here's my post if you want to check >>11864283. I then go on to say that the import price isn't for everyone and that if I had to pick between the ML and SHF, that I'd get the SHF because it looks better and that I don't get my butthole puckered if someone prefers the ML. And then you tried to convince me to wait for the redone ML, for some reason. This is why I said it was weird, because you're trying to convince me to not pre-order the current ML nor the SHF to wait for a theoretical figure that hasn't even been announced yet.

What does it matter to you which figure I get? Why should I wait for the corrected ML if I am willing and able to pay for the SHF? What bearing on your life does my decision on buying MCU Doom have? How does it directly affect you? Please, I'm curious.

Again, this all a moot point since I'm not buying any of them, I'm just trying to make you see the autism in your ways.
>>
>>11864625
>I never said that
>>11864283
> I said it earlier, if I were to get one of the two Dooms right now, it'd be the SHF.
Unless you're saying you're replying to posts about a post you didn't make
>>
>>11864627
Oh, I'm sorry I didn't phrase it better for your autism. My mistake for assuming you could infer that I meant if I were to PRE-ORDER one of the two Dooms right now, it'd be the SHF. Next time I'll assume I'm arguing with someone who has a 2nd grade reading level.

Also, this doesn't help your argument in the slightest so I don't know what you thought you were accomplishing here.
>>
>>11864628
>If I wanted to preorder right now, I'd preorder
>so don't tell me about some other version that will be up for preorder

I'm currently reading weapon X for the first time, I love the art style. Anyway how are the chances that we will get another Weapon X wolverine maybe even from another company than Hasbro? Or should I get the ML one?

Jean is kinda cool but she's dressed like a recently homeless person and the various other villains are in it for 15 seconds each, except for Scorpion, who's in it for 3 minutes.
The Hand are cool even if their "lore" is stupid in the movie where they're described as "kids" who "want to do the right thing" and I don't fucking know what that's about, but figures of them would be cool, they're in generic red ninja pajamas aside from the (female) leader

But other than that I don't know of any upcoming shows, and at one point I would've said they should just take the B-tier but well liked characters from the movies and just make shows about them, but then Falcon & Winter Soldier was the most boring thing I ever saw and I never watched another Disney+ thing after that

was there a villain in it at all?

The main antagonist is a Damage Control agent, but that's about it. It's also not really a superhero show, though a lot of it does end up feeling like a potential supervillain origin for Simon, who is kind of an asshole through a lot of it and his own worst enemy.

that sounds like the kind of shit they could be making if D+ marvel stuff was successful
at this point they should be dumping money to make an Andrew Garfield spider-man tv show or something

Paul Muh'Dik should be plapping her, too, but he's all like "muh Chani, who hates my guts and wants to kill me, you are my true love!"

You're not wrong. I really liked it, but it appeals to the part of me that likes weird shit more than the part of me that likes comic book shit and it was definitely never going to be anything that reached beyond a niche audience. I still appreciate it as something different though. I watched Shang Chi beforehand because Ben Kingsley is in it (and is the best part of Wonder Man too) and my eyes were glazed with boredom in every scene that didn't have the Mandarin. Mainstream success or not, I'll take something like Wonder Man over that any day of the week.

I'm still holding out hope for Viv Vision in Vision Quest and a Champions show

But that hope is fading

>Charles always hoped to be a good influence on me...tragically, your existence stands as proof that I was a poor one on him. But I have learned a few things from my friend over the years, including this: HOLOCAUST BEAM!!!

why the hell were they hyping up shit like tarantuna, boomerang and tombstone only for them to have a .5 second cameo

I guess I can probably see them doing one for Jean, especially if they got the rights to Sadie's face.
Either that or we'll get a second wave with Zendaya and Ned in it

they all look like shit and you should feel embarrassed for buying them.
