This is even a problem on Bandai model kits. They try to mitigate it with undergating, but even then sometimes it doesn't help. I did their Yugioh Millennium Puzzle model and it has a similar swirly twirly gold plastic that Hasbro uses for their figs and the nub marks, even when sanded, look terrible. Luckily most of them are hidden when the puzzle is put together, but still.

Ultron will at best have a similar swirly twirly plastic and like you say, have terrible nubs. Best case scenario.

I personally am not a fan of a lot of the stuff they did, the one thing I do like is the design of the big white spider, if the Mess toys spider looked like that, I'd probably grab one. But at the same time, I think the AY's layering breaks up the symbol too much too so meh. But, if you like the style of this figure, I'd say go for it, the AY 2.0 Spidey I have is pretty good.

As for the kid in blue, that's Baily Briggs, Spider-Boy. It was reconned that sometime during or just after the Brand New Day era, a young boy was given spider powers and Spider-Man took him under his wing as his official sidekick. However, due to reasons I can't remember, the world forgot about Spider Boy until he was "brought back" during some Spider Verse event. He was created by Dan Slott and despite a rocky introduction, he's had an actually decent solo book going on. Seems like a lot of people like it from what I can see, I've read a few issues here and there and they weren't bad. I initially kind of balked at the idea of an official kid sidekick for Spider-Man but he's being used in such a way that it isn't annoying and when he does actually appear it's usually pretty endearing imo.

In Spider-Verse 3, if Shathra stabbed you with a magic dagger you'd get slowly wiped from reality, Spider-Boy was gone long enough everyone forgot about him, including his mother. It was a pretty shit introduction, but the gist of it is the kid was fused with animals by a cooky old lady villain and Peter rescued him and others, and only begrudgingly put up with him so he wouldn't end up killing himself being a vigilante. For a while it was endearing when Slott was clearly not writing and Bailey acted like a real kid with infantile reasoning fighting goofy villains, instead of whatever the fuck they have going with these diversity robots like Miles and Kamala, but everything that Slott wrote himself from there was total garbage. There was one solid one-off from Yost featuring Kidpool since, but Bailey's appearances under Joe Kelly on ASM, like everything else he does, were ass.

I can only comment on Black Suit, Kaine and Scarlet Spider. Black Suit is notably a little stiffer on the pectorals than the others, but mine was a first run, no clue if they changed that or if I got a bad one. Articulation wise it feels about the same as my Mafex but I never got a lemon from them either, nothing loose, limbs aren't falling off, no problem holding up. Just cooked them with the hair dryer for a little bit out of the box.

I just rewatched Spider Man 2 last night and yeah BND doesn't even hold a candle to it. But, at the same time, it may very well be the best actual Spider Man movie we've gotten since, depending on your feelings on the first Spider Verse. It's certainly the best Tom Holland movie, but it still has its problems. I liked the Punisher interactions though, and they finally got the Spidey costume right for the MCU. But I didn't need the Hulk to be included and Jean being an outright villain but then just getting away with it didn't exactly sit right with me. Still, it's certainly the best Tom movie, better than either of Andrews films, and better than SM3, so I thought it was still a good time.

I wasn’t sold on this 2-pack when it was first revealed. I have the metallic version of this modular Iron Man, and the previous Spiral figure. But since getting a better look at it, and realizing that Iron Man is a new sculpt I’m actually excited. The worst flaw of the previous Marvel Legends modular suit Iron Man is that his shoulders are mostly gold/yellow but with red on top. But when he’s posed it looks really obvious and bad. The new shoulder is more cohesive because it’s just red. And he comes with more, specific hands. And MvC specific effects, the shield is especially cool.

I also realized that Spiral is a pretty nice upgrade, since the version of Spiral in MvC has 2 cybernetic left arms, while the previous release only had 1. This new version has 2 like in the game. And the original release does not include any alternate hands, while this new version comes with 6 alternate fist hands. Which will make putting her in MvC style fighting poses easier. Still, if she’d have come with some swappable stretchy arms would be better. The swords are more accurate, too. I may heat and swap the hair/helmets, so i can have the shorter, more poseable hair/helmet but with the old face.

I’ll be picking this up, unless Figuarts announces an MvC Iron Man. Which I hope they do. This version of Iron Man is extremely dynamic so it’d be really nice to have one.

I also think the chair itself is perfectly fine, though I do prefer the shape of the new one overall for being closer to the cartoon. I honestly want it more for the brighter colored suit body and the animated heads, especially the screaming one. XTAS Professor X's constant screaming is one of the most iconic (and hilarious) parts of that show to me, so I knew I was gonna cave on this one as soon as they revealed it.
