So I started playing the game cuz my pals were into it. I only recently learned how the game really works and this is my current asshole deck. I'm blessed cuz I'm in Socal and the community is big. Locals for my area is 40-70 people Playing twice a week. I know it's not the same everywhere but I enjoy my locals. Anyone else playing?
>>
>>11870547
wondering why did the old thread just unceremoniously die, also another player getting into the game here but I havent properly actually played with people even once yet
>>
>>11870814
I dunno I never saw one here and I was told in /tg/ this is where this belongs more than there. Where are you out at around, ballpark rough general location? I know the community can wildly range from actually insanely huge to nonexistent. Luckily I'm in an area where the community is thriving.
>>
>>11870547
Also I was at a 44 person tournament tonight and I got 9th place and my pal who was in my party got 3rd. Honestly the most successful night my little team has gone. There's around 5 of us in our little pod and the community is a regular Thursday is at least 35-45 people but out of the 5 tournaments I've gone there to the largest was 80 right after AX.
>>
>>11870842
Finland, I actually thought there was no community here but was pleased to find at least one discord server after all that hosts small events. The production/supply aspect is probably a big gatekeep for growth because currently there's almost no product in stores at least around here when just a year ago I still saw boosters and starters in random places
>>
>>11870845
If it's any consolation even where I am in socal availability is very grim. However I am almost sure the majority of bad availability stems from scalpers. I only recently got into it, but one of my friends has been playing for over a year at this point and said it has noticeably picked up relatively recently. From what I see elsewhere that's also the case basically around the world.

Thing is after playing enough and actually getting to know more of the nuance in the game it's actually a lot of fun. It's also a lot less draining for me than a tcg cuz once the rip is legit it's really just up to fate and RNG. There's comfort and fun in the randomness. While there are of course better match ups the small seeming changes do make a lot of difference. Like putting a 70mm on a silver wolf over the more meta 60m for its unique ability and tonight I really really saw the difference. It's fun.
>>
New beyblade thread is up! However for me i just like collecting the beys from time to time.
>>
>>11870814
>wondering why did the old thread just unceremoniously die
at some point they implemented a stupid system on this site where threads autosage after 2 weeks. I frankly don't get it, either the board is so fast that it's a non-factor or it's so slow that it actively harms discussion for anything
>>
>>11871132
that definitely makes very little sense if the thread is still alive and kicking but whatever, i wonder if the amount of posters/ engagement is somewhat low because of all the product availability issues too

speaking of which, my first current deck of beys that I own is
>bahamut blitz
>shark scale
>knight fortress
and out of these especially bahamut seems like it gasses out so fast its not even funny. im pretty sure the problem is 100% the bit so if anyone has decent recommendations that might also come with parts that could improve scale or fortress at the same time, my ears are open
>>

How do we make BX good again fellas?
I feel like I have this predisposition of not really liking UX and CX (not hating it though) but I always on the last rank on every casual gatherings I attended.
How do I make BX good? What is the best ratchet and bit combo that's guaranteed win using any BX blades that is not rush type?
>>

>>11871702
what BX blades for you have and are you opposed to using the new Expand Blade/Infinity subline for BX? (i.e. DranStrike)
>>
>>11871702
I feel like wizrod is only UX in name only. It's just heavy and round. I never understood what it did that made it UX.
>>
>>11871702
DranStrike is decent (technically its BX expanded), DranSword just got a weight buff with the v2 mold update. BX didnt fall off its just less of a priority these days but the expanded releases should revive it.
>>11872110
Wizard rod has plastic prongs which makes it UX but ya its not much of a gimmick.
>>
>>11872060
I feel like BX expand line isn't BX anymore (more like UX but with metal instead of resin). That said I fucking love Dran Strike because I'm biased with Dran line. It's just that I haven't got the right parts and combos for Strike, to the point that most of the time my Dran Sword (770 L) can beat opponent Dran Strike.
>what BX blades for you have
DranSword, BiteCroc and GoatTackle is my usual go to deck.

>>11872110
Yeah, but I personally don't have it and I don't really think I want it now that almost everyone uses it.

>>11872297
>DranSword just got a weight buff with the v2 mold update.
Yea but it's B4 Limited.
Though I guess you're right. I should try to be more open to BX expanded lines when there's more of it.
>>
>>11872110
Wizard Rod's gimmick is stability.
>>
>>11871702
Takara Tomy could do a funny thing and introduce a point system similar to YuGiOh Genesys where you are given a certain number of points and every part is designated a certain point and your deck cannot exceed that limit (for example, Sharkscale is worth 100 points (200 limit) and the other 100 points will be shared between the shitter parts.)

or a banlist where you can only use a certain number of parts from the same tier. (example: you can only use either Sharkscale, Wizard Rod, or Meteor Dragoon in a deck because they're in the same tier)

but they won't do that because despite all their concerns about supply shortages and scalping problem, they're swimming in money right now and they wanna maintain that.

what? how does that works? Aren't X lose the last time? why did he suddenly win now?
>>
>>11875399
Because that wasn't the official battle. Just finished reading the chapter and long story short X's father used AI or whatever the fuck to simulate multiple futures and according to his whack ass he orchestrated all of this to 'save the future of beyblade'. So he was literally banking on Nine helping X so One would lose as part of his 'master plan'.
>>
>>11875693
that's so convoluted

X's anime/manga have been that way from the start. I would never say Beyblade's anime is the epitome of storytelling or anything like that since it's a glorified toy commercial, but X has gone on three years and nothing's happened.
>Season 1 being in the X Tower at all was said to be a big deal
Thanks to X they blitz it in a few months. Apparently 90% of the bladers in there are no talents especially the top 10 floors.
>Season 2 but wait there's the second part of the X Tower!
See above.
>Season 3 now we have an entirely new X Tower and beyblade's future is on the line and *GASP* X's family?!
All serve no purpose because Beyblade was never really dying and it was just some asshole's convoluted plan to hype up his own child while somehow managing to lose to Bird, spoilers by the way.

Again I'm not expecting much from a toy commercial stretched into a cartoon but compared to every Beyblade anime that's come before it, X is just bland. X himself just beats everybody no problem, Multi's little miss perfect and somehow made two new styles of Beyblade despite being a child (because apparently that's hard to do in this universe when characters like Burn have limitless funding), and Bird is just there. Also I find it hilarious how in G Revolution the message was to go against corporations for wanting to control something people do for fun, while X as a whole basically says "If you can't Jew for someone then you don't belong in our sport." How times have changed.

Shit even Burst managed to have its own style and flare despite being largely grounded like X.
>>
>>11876042
The biggest problems with X series for me is that the power levels absolutely make no sense. Quinn Manju is supposed to be the legendary blader from the past but she's constantly getting defeated to hype any new villains. Same for characters like Burn, King and even Omega now who was hyped for the entirety of S2 but lost off-screen to One.

That and new villains generally steamroll the entire cast except for X, making them look weak. Then the series has training episodes like for Shiguru and Ciel and they amount to absolutely nothing.

And finally it's stuck in the same place for 3 seasons now FOR HECK'S SAKE.
>>
Whats the best site to buy japanese beyblade stuff? Surely we don't have to pay 90$ for a takara tomy stadium in the west.... right?
>>
>>11876061
I got mine for $85. Then again something like the drop attack stadium which is kinda shit is already roughly $50 MSRP and at this point that's hard sometimes.
>>
>>11876516
The drop stadium you can at least still find in stores and comes with 2 good beys. Whats so brutal about buying a takara tomy stadium is paying out the ass for ONLY a stadium.

Power scaling is the least of my issues and it's more the main characters are easily the most non team in media with regard to chemistry. Takao and crew at least traveled the world together and even faced off against one another over the years, Gingka and Masamune had to learn how to work together from square 1, and Valt while short sighted clearly cared about his teammates and friends and they returned that in kind. Bird and Multi are only teammates because of X and X is basically the king of beyblades which everything revolves around. Nothing really binds them together other than the fact having a team is needed to compete at a pro level (there are exceptions like Packun). That's basically it, they work together so they don't get kicked out of the X, which is a shallow as shit reason; and yes you can argue previous beyblade iterations followed the same route when it came to competing in tournaments, but at least their stakes mattered more. If one fell there was a good chance they all could so they had to learn how to be supportive of one another. Meanwhile in X, Bird just eats shit while X and Multi say 'don't worry about it we'll win for you'. That's not how you forge bonds with a teammate and definitely not how trust works.
>>
>>11876629
sounds like you haven't watched season 2. Which isn't better than S1 and it's full of filler and a slog to watch, but there's a hint here and there about their team.
>>
>>11876637
Given the manga is a cliff notes version with some changes here and there, I'm no hurry to watch season 2 of the anime (that and I have no idea if Netflix has all the season 2 episodes yet).
>Which isn't better than S1 and it's full of filler and a slog to watch
So sounds like I'm not missing much given what I just said the manga was in comparison.
>>
They need to make a Wizard Rod and Shark Scale dual pack
>>
I will never ever buy or purchase any Wizard Rod and Shark Scale and Hover Wyvern. I want to beat em, not use them. Hopefully using standard BX bey that is Bite Croc.
>>
>>11876613
I mean it's imported And right now there are still import tariffs that are making anything shipped more expensive. Hell I'm lucky cuz I have pals who spent like $130+ for theirs although theirs are fully clear and mine is the white body.
>>
>>11877073
It's just retarded that Hasbro doesn't make an extra copy of the Takra stadium when the game is pushing competitive so hard. You shouldn't need to import anything to begin with.
>>
>>11877070
They are really useful to own because you can test what beats them.
>>
>>11877095
bold of you to assume I can afford my own stadium
>>
>>11877091
Some conspiracy talk I've had with my pals is that Tomi has a copyright on the exact dimensions of the BX-10 stadium and they aren't letting Hasbro use it. You are right. But so much so that it doesn't even feel normal. There has to be something else. Especially considering how much money it's making all over the world.
>>
>>11877098
I highly doubt that is the case when Tomy provides Hasbro with molds for every single Beyblade part.

My best guess would be they didn't see the west as being as competitive with Beyblade as Japan was, so they never bothered to release the exact tournament stadium and instead focused on fun gimmick stadiums. That perception has obviously changed in the past few months.
>>
>>11877106
Last few months eh? I honestly just got into the game a few months ago myself. I've gotten to understand things for the most part but I have friends who had been playing since apparently season 1 of the anime. I'm guessing a year or two. They never used to go to tournaments because they didn't have a crew to go down with but now that we all do the locals scene in my area is very lively and active. But this wasn't always the way I'm guessing? How was things before and what even made it so suddenly popular? I hear that a lot how it just recently blew up and got big. What even made that so?
>>
>>11877109
Beyblade recently blew up in popularity because of the X series. It's far more interesting than any previous series, specifically the competitive aspect. It started off when competitive Beyblade went ultra viral in Korea then quickly spreading the hype to the rest of the world. Prior to the recent hype most people did not know Beyblade was even still around, let alone it having a competitive scene.

The only big downside is the scalper issue. Scalpers bought out every store once they heard a new nerd hobby was on the uprise and that certain blades where more sought after than others. This is why it's near impossible to find some of the older releases like Scale Shark on shelves right now.
>>
>>11875251
Nearly all of them are from the first few waves of X. TT knows how to do powercreep. They intentionally make the early blades like that to force you to buy the better designed ones later down the line.
>>
>>11875218
>Ring Aether A+
How???
>>
>>11874621
>I remember when collecting these was a fun hobby.
I wish this wasn't applicable to so many things now that scalpers are actively looking for communities to make worse
>>
>>11875987
I know there's a japan focused hobby shop in the south part of town that has takara beys and regularly restocks. There's some other potential spots I've been meaning to check out though
>>

>>

Maybe at your locals or something. The absolute most I can see anything beyblade official to do at the very I real maximum would be a point system. Like wiro or scale are 6 or 7 points out of 10 so you can't have both.
>>

I thought that last stretch of s2 eps was pretty satisfying but if you didn't like that then it's prob not for you.
>>
>>11878412
They've outright banned blades in previous series before.
>>
>>11878807
which ones and why? because yeah theyve banned metal needle and its specifically because its actually damaging other products by an alarming amount
>>
Why in the ever living fuck does Walmart allow scalpers to sell scalper prices on their own site? I swear these fuckers literally buy the MSRP of the stock whenever Walmart has it, then immediately goes to sell it on Walmart itself for scalper prices.
>>
>>11878930
One of the guys in my crew was getting 4 Aether Rings for our group right after the restock. He was checking out and the cart said the product was sold out. He did a refresh on the page and they were up there for 40 each. Doesn't seem legal honestly.
>>
>>11878905
>which ones and why?
Just look up banned beyblades on youtube, there are a bunch of videos that cover them. They where banned for being overpowered and not something like metal needle that destroys stadiums. We've yet to see an overpowered ban in X but Wizard and Shark are fucking everywhere so it may happen just to push sales on newer blades.
>>
>>11878930
Out of every major retailer Walmart is the least likely to give a fuck. Other stores keep implementing limits to prevent scalpers but Walmart is always gonna be the lawless wild west.

to be quite honest I doubt either of those are stopping people from buying, what actually does is the scalper issue and general low product availability all over the world outside of asia (where they get scalped the hardest) which makes people far more selective with their acquisitions
>>
How useful is flipping the reaper assist blade really? I just like the default configuration because it protects the ratchet more.
>>
>>11878939
local clubs tried to ban sharkscale and wizard rod here, but apparently it didn't solve the scapling issue. it has to come from Takara Tomy themselves and you know they wont do it because that means lower profits (ever wondered why they never overproduced those two if they really care about addressing the scalping issue?)
>>
>>11879205
such a small stadium. How will it works?
>>
>>11879706
Banning isn't meant to stop scalping. It's meant to get players to use anything else in tournaments. You sell more of your other products when the top dogs get banned. This is how Yugioh treats all of it's banlists, just killing off the current meta so the next set sells.
>>
>>11879205
lol this is blatantly riding the beyblades hype coattails. Guess we should expect to see a lot of these 'competitive customizable' toy lines showing up to follow the trend.
>>
>>11879706
>ever wondered why they never overproduced those two if they really care about addressing the scalping issue?

Could they, theoretically, do something with the Battle Pass to circumvent the scalping issue? For example, if you accumulated a certain number of points on it, you can redeem those points at the online store to be put on a special waiting list.
>>
>>11879796
All they have to do to fix scalping is stop filling the shelves with worthless bullshit like Yell Kong every restock. Scalping markets collapse when there is too many scalpers undercutting each other online to be worth scalping in the first place. But right now there are so little of the meta beys in circulation, so scalpers get easy money whenever they snatch the few good beys in each restock.
>>
>>11879807
what's wrong with Yell Kong?
>>
>>11879814
It's a low tier blade that is overproduced out the ass, being in both a single and dual pack since 2024. Same goes for a lot of blades you see rotting on shelves that still continued to be part of restocks.
>>
>>11879822
Ghost circle will be meta one day, trust.
>>
>>11879754
Crush Gear is still going strong in Asia despite being a long dead product, so bandai would be retarded to not follow the trend. i'm afraid about this new Baraba Ride line though. that external charger is going to make this toy brittle, and Crush Gear fans have a huge overlap witn Mini 4wd so they'd want at least to make the moving parts customizable.

Why do Beyblade content creators suck so much dick? 90% of the vids are fucking pointless. It's no wonder everyone sticks to the same 3 meta beys when it's fucking impossible to get real result info on new releases without buying and doing the testing yourself.

even worse they launch at the center (either at the same time, or one after the other) which does fuck all on actual match with different launch technique and position.
I'm so mad when they don't realize nor recognize the different mold between Dran Sword TT and Hasbro one.

FUCK THEM THEY'RE ALL NPCs
>>
>>11879843
Because they all have sponsored affiliate links to shitty beyblade seller sites so they shill the fuck out of every new dogshit release. They never try different parts because they want to trick newbies into thinking everything is playable right out of the box so they go buy it.

The most disingenuous shill I've ever seen was saying the big green blast pegasus launcher was actually good.

I don't compete but if I ever did I would unashamedly use Scale and I want a CX Shark in the line that has a top tier blade just so the ride of hate never ends.

What stores have people been finding Valor Bison at in the US? Walmart seems to only be getting Blitz Bahamut and Ring Aether right now.

I rather use the freebie ones they throw in to the "starter sets" of theirs.

The formfactor is garbage to hold as it is, but it loses spin speed the fastest of any launcher I've held. It's a fucking crime they paired it with the best CX bey release.

I'm convinced Hasblow is doing this to insulate against a lawsuit. If they made the beys spin as fast as the japanese do then they open themselves up to litigation for selling a dangerous product.
>>
>>11881233
Hasbro still sells both the good rip cord and string launchers but doesn't include them in nearly as many products as TT does.

I think the real reason we are getting shit products like this is Hasbro still under the assumption that only little kids play Beyblade and are more attracted to the giant plastic doodads while browsing the shelves. Little Timmy sees the big epic green launcher and tell his mom to get that one. In reality the demographic has hard shifted to adults buying them for competitive tournaments that have zero interest in buying anything that isn't practical.

However it's totally possible by this same time next year Hasbro gives up on trying to sell giant plastic nothingburgers to children and instead focuses on selling competitive products. Beyblade X only really started to explode in popularity in the west over the past few months. So we are not yet at the point where Hasbros production pipeline is lining up products for the manchildren who are giving them the most sales.
>>
>>11881186
I mean anything designed with the idea of attaching to your belt is probably for the younger kids right. Like you have your bey inside your launcher on the go and you whip it out like a duel disk when your friend challenges you. I can see kids having fun with it.
>>
i kind of want to play toy..

Well mainly adults are playing with them anyway so go nuts.
>>
>>11881292
Man the locals I go to has a regular turnout of at least 45-60 every Thursday night. The ones on the weekends are bigger. The only kids who play are literally the children of other players. Mind you they're actually really really good and have top tier meta decks cuz their parents love the game and go all out with imports. Hell, I'm in a little crew of 6 and we're all in our mid 30s and we aren't even the oldest groups there. If anything the current stuff is literally made for adults who grew up with the more janky og sets.

Nerds are desperate for something competitive that isn't a tcg or vidya.
>>
>>11881330
And I understand that. Honestly once the shoot is live and clean it's kinda fun that it's just basically RNGesus take the wheel. The sheer randomness is out of our control so when you lose or win it isn't as salty as if you were piloting a deck. You can't really be too mad cuz that's just how it goes. Meanwhile you can misplay or drop a combo in your deck and it's all on you and it hurts more. There's something freeing about the randomness of tops.
>>

I like how Beyblade is like the complete opposite of card games in most aspects
>TCG: most sought after cards are the old ones
>Beyblade: nobody gives a fuck about old series. they just want stuff from X

>TCG: wants all their cards in perfect mint condition
>Beyblade: YO I JUST BOUGHT THIS 200$ BLADE FROM JAPAN LETS FUCKING DESTROY THIS THING

>TCG: would rather buy singles from 2nd hand market to build competitive decks
>Beyblade: actively wants product directly off the store shelves

>TCG: aren't allowed to use cards from japan in the west
>Beyblade: most tournaments allow takara tomy parts

>TCG: every player uses online simulators to test for events
>Beyblade: 100% physical

Is it me or does Bison look kinda mid at best? I don't feel like it's mechanic would work especially compared to wolf or the new seize jaguar. Wouldn't the wheel on the outside just be pushed out due to centrifugal force? I mean bison looks heavy as heck though.
>>
>>11881861
People are looking at Bisons wheels wrong. They are not good at absorbing blows like the full free wheel of Wolf, despite being advertised that way. What the Bison wheels are really good at is helping fling itself out of pockets.

Surprisingly it's these little 10 dollar boosters that are the hardest to get. Major retailer like Walmart see these $9.99 beys as "assorted boosters" in their system instead of being labeled by their individual names, all of them just count as the same item. To their computers a Scale Shark is the same thing as a Yell Kong. So they almost never end up on major retailer sites to order or check store availability for. You have to just randomly find these things out in the wild after a fresh restock and PRAY that there are some good ones like Scale Shark, Tide Whale, or Curse Mummy because it's literally random which ones they get.
>>
Which CX assist blade is the smallest? I'd rather be hitting with the metal parts of my main blade and the assist blade just seems to cockblock you most of the time.
>>
>>11883491
Not sure if theres an universally smallest one, youd probably want to get one(s) that synergize with your blade shape specifically, although I have no clue who the fuck has the money or willingness to actually buy shit to scrap for parts with the current prices unless they actually find something on a store shelf somewhere
>>
>>11883501
>want to get one(s) that synergize with your blade shape specifically,
The biggest issue with CX is that nearly every assist blade is only meant to pair up with the main blade it comes with. It totally defeats the purpose of CX having another layer of customization when the assists don't go well with other blades. This is why you really only see circles like Wheel or Heavy being used on different builds.

what would you recommend if i someone wanted to get into modern beyblade for fun/competitive play but wanted to have a very aggressive deck?
>>
>>11883826
Thats the majority of this game unless you want to be a wizard rod sheeple
>>
>>11883796
There have been a couple hasbro clocks show up on ebay so it's likely yet another "oops we released a few in Canada months early" situation.
>>
>>11883826
Aggression IS the meta. Unless you run Wizard Rod or Clock Mirage you are likely going to have a full aggro team.

i feel like i keep seeing wizard rod and whatnot just casually browsing social media so it was making me feel a bit iffy but if aggression is meta thats pretty cool

Wizard Rod is by far the strongest stamina blade but people win tournaments all the time without using it. Even on Wizard Rod teams that is typically the 1 stamina blade they use alongside 2 aggro blades.

>>11884163
Oh I'm quite settled into my hobbies, but I don't pretend for one second they're not aimed at 12 year olds primarily
>>
>>11884547
Sometimes I wonder... Beyblade currently absolutely still is. But the fanbase is clearly older people. They could do well financially if they courted the older fans. Things do change. Like MTG was and is still a kids game but the demographic has changed as the game aged towards older adult players as opposed to the kids to teen age. They did good for it too cuz older people have money and don't have to ask mom. I would hope TT would notice this and adjust but I doubt it. My point is more that the demographic isn't necessarily the audience. But then again you also mentioned MLP which is more or less the same situation.
>>
>>11884685
>Like MTG was and is still a kids game
Huh? MTG has always been aimed at an older audience. Out of every TCG a kid is least likely to be playing MTG. They would have made an MTG cartoon if they wanted kids to play it.

>But then again you also mentioned MLP which is more or less the same situation.
MLP had an adult audience because they wanted to fuck them. It's still one of the biggest rule34 series tags.
Beyblade is getting popular because older players enjoy the tournament scene.
>>
>>11884706
There were multiple attempts at a MTG cartoon and they all failed. I will say though that the game more or less grew up with the audience. You're right in tcg though say something like YGO I can not imagine anyone who never grew up with or knows someone already played the game just starting. It's more for kids but the esoteric nonsense in Yu-Gi-Oh makes it so that while kids may play it's mainly older people even more so than MTG in this instance.

As for ponies yes they want to fuck it but there was a true fandom for it at the time. A fandom full of creepy adults. But not EVERYONE was in it just for porn.

>been acquiring beyblades for two months straight but haven't been able to break them in due to life

Will any of these be viable? Honestly don't care since I use them stock only 99% of the time and just buy these based on how cool they look. And I'm getting Wolf Hunt and a Wizard Arrow with Orbit today. Why? I just always wanted Wolf Hunt and Wizard Arrow was a cheaper access to a new Orbit since my only one is three years old and can't hold its stamina anymore.
>>
>>11886930
Wizard Rod (wand) is one of the best in the game and the green version comes with 2 meta parts as well
Bullet Griffon is also extremely strong
Bahamut Blitz is the only way to get the 1-50 ratchet
The expansion pack comes with some good parts but horrible blades
Rage Ragna and Armor Knight are kinda meh but come with some interesting parts
>>
>>11887007
Rod is actually a duplicate because I found one originally at Target and wound up with this new one at a Wallgreens of all places (and I got Wizard Rod when UX became a thing so I technically have three Rod blades now). Still most of them are never hads before and I'm especially looking forward to using Bullet Griffon!

>shark scale
>best blade in the game
>only in an expensive big deck set for Takara Tomy
>only in a hard to find 10$ booster that is randomly stocked for Hasbro
>not a single reprint or recolor has even been announced for either region
So this thing is on the chopping block, right? There is no way they are avoiding reprinting their potential biggest money maker unless they had plans to ban it.

doesn't come with any beys

People are also just sick to death of these Hasbro meme stadiums when they refuse to give us a TT BX-10 copy. Having to spend $90+ for an imported tournament legal stadium is frustrating when Hasbro keeps producing these massive wastes of plastic instead. They just released ANOTHER trash stadium on Amazon that is already getting bombarded with bad reviews.
