Im tired of how frustrating it has become to toy collect and i hate how unobtainable new action figures have come to be. I hate pre-orders becoming so dominant in this industry in the first place cuz i hate preorders and would only use them for years only when absolutely necessary and i hate how it makes figures come out way later and i hate to wait literal months to get something that i should be able to pay for and have shipped immediately to me, but it feels like preorders are even worse now cuz the toy industry has been aggressively trying to make them the norm for practically everything for whatever reason and it feels like every figure is being delayed more because of this push for preorders to be normalized, also preorders get sold out way faster now and theyre getting cancelled more often so any benefit from the pre order business model is moot now. Shit like the preorder push and other things like targets street date nazi-ism where they demand everything be set for some superfluous reset date and they put their own store mandated/non-manufacturer street dates on a bunch of items which are pointless and unnecessary street dates and it has made me not even enjoy this hobby anymore and is a big part of why im trying to tone down my collecting because everyone involved with these toy companies have made toy buying way more infuriating and rage inducing then it has any right to he and it just plain isn't fun anymore since its such a hassle to even get half of these figures anymore. Im fucking done with this, enshitification has ruined everything i used to love and enjoy and now i just cant wait till i get a chance to jump off a bride. I hate this fucking awful future and i want out already.

I hate preorder and preorder bonus, especially if it a face plate like they do for figma
>>
>>11871863
It's worse for Revoltech. At least GSC let filthy gaijin order the Figma with preorder bonus from their store. Kaiyodo says "fuck you for not letting us rape Nanjing" and the only way to get it is to order from a store that might not get enough of the bonus parts in stock for every customer that orders it.

Does it get lonely when you are sucking Putin's cock? Or does he have all of you line up in a row to do it non-stop? There are certainly enough of you bot trolling shit-posters trying to destabilize this country. The penis envy must be quite something.

Chungusfurry is a SEA brownoid, not yuropoor. He worships Japan because he thinks he's closer to japanese than White and therefore can take pride in their accomplishments through some sort of racial solidarity. Likewise, he feels butthurt for the assraping the USA gave the japs in WW2.

Though this man doesn't know how to structure sentences and paragraphs properly, he is correct.

Preorders:
-Lead to risk of missing out because if the preorder sells out everywhere, then your preorder gets canceled, you now have no way to buy the item outside scalpers. If in stock ordering was all there was, you would almost immediately know if the store could fulfill your order and buy elsewhere quickly if needed.
-At some stores are charged early and amount to an interest free loan to the store
-At other stores partial non-refundable deposits are forced
-Let manufacturers and retailers gauge demand and thus make/order less to try to assure the figure doesn't go on sale or clearance
-Lead to delayed gratification for the customer
-In some cases lead the buyer on with endless delays, to the point where economic situations have entirely changed from when they placed the preorder to when the item comes in
>>
>>11871859
I get why it's annoying. But have you considered there's benefits for you? Toy companies can take different risks if they have pre-order information. Otherwise they have to essentially guess the correct amount of figures to create. If that forced to do that every time they might actually create less figures to avoid the risk and therefore you've even got a greater chance of missing out.
Also nobody wants toy companies to create flops. The buyers don't get what they want, and the companies lose money to create new figures that people do want.
>>
>>11872084
I want toy companies to create flops, so I can buy them at Ollie's for $5 like Black Series. And that line is still alive despite it.

It should be obvious why "I want the world to fail in ways that benefit just me and totally implode the second I die" isn't an economic ethos that works

Sweetie, your hatred for people better than you, not living in polluted sewers with a shitty grid and infrastructure, is as equally amusing as it is sad. And don't pretend you live as a prisoner in Singapore or as a 27 year old company virgin in Japan, or as a hot talk blond Swede - all those people have better things to do with their lives than angry shitpost on 4chinz
Even the adult virgin in Tokyo
And the Singaporean prisoner isn't allowed to go on this site, plus they took his Internet privileges away when he smoked in public last
>>
>>11872092
I've bought over $200 figures, anon. But Black Series isn't worth $27. It shouldn't be allowed to be priced like that. Same with Todd's figures. They should go to clearance.

>>11872099
Talk about overdramatic equating toy lines going to Ollie's and the literal world.

They are already making less figures now the they used to hence why theirs entire months with barely anything coming out in stores and otherwise. Also with the way they are making it so rage inducing and difficult to even get these figures in hand it makes it not even worth the effort anymore. I dont enjoy this hobby anymore when i have to pay for a figure that i wont get for another 9 months. It kills any sort of enjoyment that buying toys used to bring when, along with all the other aforementioned issues, i have to suffer waiting ridiculously long anounts of time to get a figure in that i should've been able to pay for and immediately ship to me or just straight up see on a shelf and pay for at the store. Hell even if preorders were like maybe a month or a couple of weeks it wouldnt be so awful but when every figure is delayed 6-8 months now because of preorder shit being crammed down everybody's throats by the bloated and uncaring toy industry by greedy companies who hate their customers then i give up-it simply isnt worth it now nor is it fun anymore either.
>>
Most of these complaints have been true for years. You retards who have only been collecting since covid can kindly get the fuck out of this hobby if you think this shit is new.
>>
>be american
>Purchase toys mostly from Target, wal mart whatever largest retail chain in the region
>Minor distribution/contract problem would mean toys would not get on the shelve or shipped

You are the problem here for not supporting your mom/pop and only "indie" toy sellers
>>
At least you still get a tangible physical thing when you buy a toy. That's something these days. Look at gaming.
>>
>>11872311
I have been collecting since i was a literal kid, the shift to preorders becoming a dominant form of purchasing toys due to covid crap absolutely ruined the toy industry and the fact that companys didnt get off that shit the moment the lockdown ended is both horrible and unforgivable. I will say that the death of toys r us in 2018 also was the beginning of the end in many ways with now wal-mart and target having less competition and therefore could be lazier in restocking shelves but covid bullshit hastened the industrys ruination even further and way faster.
>>
>>11872311
>Most of these complaints have been true for years
It wasn't as prevalent in the past. Back when I collected Star Wars prior to 2012, there were only one or two waves a year that were much harder to get. Usually a midyear wave that didn't get stocked by retailers because the earlier waves of the year were clogging shelves, and the very last wave before the line reset and became the next iteration were the ones that were like hens teeth. So yeah, if you were a completist, you'd want to preorder them. You might see them in the wild, but you'd need luck on your side. The issue is that these days, Hasbro are absolutely taking the piss and every second thing is a pulse exclusive or a fan channel exclusive that if you don't preorder it on day 1, you're fucked. And even then, you might still be fucked because there's a 50/50 chance that Pulse, Walmart and Target will cancel your prerorder because they are pieces of shit.
>>
>>11872311
It's kind of funny because I only got into toys recently and I was thinking about how fast they come out kek, in comparison to movies where you can hear about a movie 3 years before it happens.

>i have to pay for a figure that i wont get for another 9 months
I didn't ordered the Utena Hirragi figma due to that, preorder opened last weeks

Sweat, she's will come fast and
>2028
Why would you do that, why would you sell a figure that will release in 16 months ?! And more like 18 since I'm in europe and we get everything 2 months later
A year and half
>>
i've been preordering import toys for over 2 decades at this point and i dont care what hasbro does
>>
When revenge of the fallen's toyline came out I found the leader optimus at Walmart, I took it to checkout and was told it had a street date on it and I couldn't buy it until that date. I was like 14 ish at the time and had no way to get to the store without someone driving me there, so I just got to put it back on the shelf. Shit was pain.

>>11872153
It's too late, they got into all sorts of collectibles and turned them into an "investment" thus increasing the amount of scalpers in every hobby and this will probably continue as long as internet "celebrities" keeps pushing it, so they're not going anywhere for a long long time Anon.
>>
>>11872557
Not the guy you replied to, but i wish death upon Logan paul for starting this shit with pokemon cards and now the same type of cultural invaders are starting to scalp action figures too i think. I hate this future
>>
>>11872540
Weirdly enough walmart seems to be the only store that has seemingly has become more lax about street dates. Register locks are not as common at walmart as they used to be 10-15 years ago for newer items. I got some of the new spider man movie toys from walmart like two weeks before they were meant to hit shelves from their street date. Also speaking of bayverse transformers, i remember in 2011 when dark of the moon was coming out i managed to get some wagie at walmart to get a leaser class sentinel prime figure out of a case before the street date and i bought him with no issue whats so ever. Shit was so cash!

Kids would buy toys if they made actually cool toys again instead of 8 million "star wars" action figures of generic normal man in brown jacket. Also the over reliance on the 6 incher collectors faggot market ruined the toy industry even further then shitty star wars and MCU movies did too.

>Also the over reliance on the 6 incher collectors faggot market ruined the toy industry even further then shitty star wars and MCU movies did too.
True. The only thing worse than a 6 inch collector is a 1:18th collector, though.

Toys were peak in the late 80's early to mid 90s with Kenner's offerings and Playmates TMNT figures from that era.

Ah i see youre a patrician of taste then. 90s scale 4 and a half inch figures were the best
