How does /toy/ feel about collecting novelty items?
The green one is pretty cool, not gonna lie
>>11873289I hate weedfuckers they stink and have awful skin you have to look at when they try to sell you this shit at a fair. The girls are hot tho but I guess that's just my fetish for trashy women
>>11873289I like the little spider grindersI prefer the aesthetic of a glass bong but I'd buy that psyduck one for a gift maybe
>>11873289ive smoked weed once. Felt nothing, tasted something, but didnt feel like something I should be into. I also already have a vice and it's being fat.
>>11873303>>11873337Not specifically a weed thread, just any toy-esque novelty items
>>11873303>stinky and bad skinPeople vocalize the same stereotype towards toy collectors.
>>11873289They're fine. Anything's collectible really. Just don't expect anything that's "investment-grade."
I personally avoid spending money on anything that seems like just a novelty item. You buy and get bored with it in a week and then can't even get rid of it on eBay because it isn't worth much. And you end up in a cycle of chasing novelties instead of appreciating one nicer piece long-term. There are tons of $10-25 blind box items that prey on female maternal/protective instincts that are tempting, but I won't buy any because it's just an endless void of cute shit that all looks the same.
>>11873289I remember when ROTF was promoting a mail in offer for this M&Ms dispenser. I only ever used it once, but I do miss the mail in experience
>>11874569Mail ins are such a lost joy.
>>11874982Scalpers ruined that too. I remember all the GI Joe figures on the pegs with POPs removed by scalpers hoarding up that Crimson Guard. I had to order carded figures on the internet due to figures in local stores all looted of their POPs, then Hasbro DIDN'T FUCKING SEND IT, and didn't give me my fucking money back after scalpers wiped out the production inventory. Fuck that. That's just one more thing ruined by scalpers.
>>11873318The spiders are nice. I actually have a vader and death star grinder - but they just stay on my shelf.A tatchicoma grinder (or custom) would be neat.
>>11873289>/toy/ feelI think most queens here will REE and REE all day and night about shit that doesn't articulate.Funko is souless crap but I've bought some Culture Fly and other vinyl staction figures that I don't have an issue with. Kids toys with meals from fast food seem to be the one exception on this board but those threads are also mostly dead.>>11874073>>11874460Yep, to both of these. The novelty stuff I buy that those blind box is when I see it for cheap at someplace like Ross, so it's a Super7 Mothra key chain or a Jazwares 5POA of Comic Book Guy that cost me a few bucks each that I can toss into a lot of crap fodder to help make it more saleable. You pretty much still lose money on these lots but it's one good way to get rid of this junk.
