That an anime should go for the full year meaning around 50 episodes, and to make that many fast and cheap it's outsourced to multiple studios overseas. That means the quality differs substantially episode to episode. Current popularity I believe isn't from the anime itself but the good designs and resulting performance of the toys and kits. More people might know Tekkaman just from figures or the SRW games than the show at this point.

Easier to sculpt too compared to faces with realism, then there's the digital painting aspect to consider. My figure had a crack in one side of the swivel point so I glued it all together. Only because it didn't affect articulation that much. I suspect the assembly quality wasn't great for Dabi.
