I know Adam and he-man are supposed to have different complexions, but its kinda neat being able to head and handswap them. Adam having the up/down hinge hand is great for sword poses. Really gonna need some custom hands.

Got a few MOTU related pick-ups this week. Ross finally dropped these Origins down to 10 bucks, and that's my sweet spot, so hell yeah. Jackalman was the same price.

How many figures have just plain skull heads in Origins? As in no permanently attached hoods or helmets

Is it just Scare Glow and Great Black Wizard?

Some Walmarts and Targets have him at the same price as the regular cores. I've now picked up two, in person. The sword is the same sword, so unless someone wants a CAMO version of He-Man or really REALLY needs that grappling hook, I do agree it will peg-warm and you'll be able to find it on clearance, just no so much in stores since it doesn't need to be in stores.

>>11876930
They should have been $9 in the first place. I can't complain since the Shadow Weaver I got was not tagged and I got it for $7.99 but I never saw the Prince Adam or He-Man I wanted and had to buy those on-line, still not MSRP but also more than $9.99

People have claimed that the Chronicles at retail (and the individual releases that have arrived via on-line purchase) have had variations on the harness and on the face. I personally have seen very minor paint variations on the core, where the eyebrows weren't a full line and I can see why some people call it cross-eyed but it's not true in hand or even just through the clam shell). Your picture looks similarly to mine. I'm setting up a new laptop or I would post some picture but you probably can easily find some side by side comparison posted on line by someone whose bought multiples.

I did pick up a second Chronicles, but I had already taken the first one apart completely so I can only compare the heads and to me, these look identical and were definitely months apart, after Mattel's alleged re-release variation started arriving in mail boxes and stores.

>>11876861
Dark-Lyn and Evil-Lyn (Masterverse) are probably about the same. I just grabbed the Dark-Lyn so not getting them both. I'd rather get the older (New Eternia) movie version for the head if I could find it for dirt cheap.

Also, these things are $11 at Mattel Creations if you want to order one on line.
No clue why Bezos or Walmart has them so high - and it looks like Target won't let you do the Core for pick up or on-line ordering?

>>11877034
You do parse English well enough to understand that "claimed" isn't "they are lying" or isn't "they are falsely" shit-posting? I personally haven't seen THAT but followed-up that I had seen something slightly similar with the non-Chronicles.

I found an extra one tonight at Target just needing the grapple hook for 200X Webstor. So they're still out there for sure.

>>11877066
I've seen like one on Fb and the interior appears to be missing paint apps. The Snake Trap is solid green. The throne and background are brighter than the original demo. They really cut corners somewhere to justify a profit AND give you the Snorse.

ARe there other photos you guys are actually referring to, because the playset posted in this thread looks like shit i wouldn't have paid $80 for even in 2007. It all looks as quality as the Lightyear movie playset that i passed up $40.

But that's just me. Maybe Heman fans are used to worse.

it's been popping up at Ross for $12.99, so I knew sooner or later I would seen one pink tagged
once it dropped below $10, it was an easy choice to grab esp because I've ended up getting a bunch of other Masterverse - just got PICREL in the mail - wish he had a huge sword instead of the scepter, but for $8+ free shipped, I really can't complain, I've figured out where to get some swords.
Tri Klops deluxe arrives next week and once my pre-orders arrive and my pile of loot clock needs to count down, I'll probably add some of the lower priced stuff at BBTS

For playsets?
There's not a lot out there that's actually good, because they're mostly kiddy trash meant for 5 year olds that don't know better.

But some does exist, mostly as diorama set pieces. McFarlane made about a dozen playsets like this in various scales.
>>
>>11877160
>Kiddy trash
Nigger you're on the toy board
>>
>>11877163
There's a difference between toys aimed at children and toys aimed at adults.
... and i guess there's a third category, with toys aimed at adults that looks like kiddy trash.

If you don't see the difference between these f... actually, i won't post a comparison picture, because it'll get some manbabies crying over a perceived brandwar.
But there are differences in the quality of toys when they're made with a specific audience in mind and you're coping like a retard if you ignore them.

And to be fair, there are toylines out that that are aimed at kids, but have qualities that impress adult collectors.... which the aforrementioned playsets do not have.
>>
>>11877160
The Toddler makes shitty, junky carboard playset equivalents. You are calling the PVC base to one of Todd's even shittier staction figures a "diorama set piece" - they are all one thing.
You might as well claim the Diamond Select Gallery Statues were also "play sets."

You say potato, i say potato.

There's action figures with gimmicks like spring loaded armors. There's action figures with gimmicks like super articulation.
They're all still action figures.

Just like this is still a playset, just like kiddy trash playset that was appeared earlier in the thread.

What you posted isn't a playset, because it's just a single component, that could belong in a playset. It's akin to an action figure coming with a machine gun and saying the machine gun is also an action figure.

In short, you're coping, because you know how woefully bad looking that HeMan playset looks, thus trying to discount TRVE QUALITY as being the same thing.
>>
>>11876923
looks good, now what is the difference with the more expensive chronicles battlecat and the less expensive one, besides price? that looks about 2x the size of the adam/cringer 2pack, but I thought I had seen (and sadly passed by) some battlecats at ross because they had the netflix branding and i thought it would look cartoony and i figured the cringer covered me there - no need to get a second one
so that's the $40 version?
>>
>>11877164
Post one image of a $500, premium playset
>>
>>11877160
>kiddy trash
I mean... it's the He-Man thread. It's a retro line based on toys for kids from the 80s. That's part of the appeal. If it was too hyperdetailed it wouldn't fit the aesthetic. Nothing against a cool set piece, but I guarantee you He-Man playsets have a lot more play features, which is a whole other metric of enjoyability.

Thanks. That battle cat is the cheap 2020 origin one. Only cost $10 on clearance, but downside is no ankle articulation so you can't get it in many good poses, but i like the bright vibrant colors.
There is a 2pack version with battle he-man that has scratches painted, the there are the revelations and now the new film one.
If you're seeing a Netflix one it is probably the power attack move one and the armor isnt removable. It looks very stylized to me.

>>
>>11877187
>I mean... it's the He-Man thread.
sure, but there's people here trying to use the Fox and the Grapes fable for some really sour grapes and pretending they're totally sweet.
And i don't really know who they're talking to, because the most criticism i've seen is that it's lacking in some shading?
That's some overcompensating cope.

Like i said early, i get it, it's supposed to look like kiddy trash (there's no need to pretend it's anything but either) but kiddy trash is generally kiddy trash because it's budget as fuck. When the playset apparently costs $300... that's insane.

Also, He Man was actually considered hyperdetailed in the 80s. Mattel kept up with the standards all the way into the 00s, where New He Man got all the improvements toys were getting in the late 80s. Then 200x He MAn had many of the improvements toys were getting in the 00s. So to say that thread should all be about kiddy trash, well, that's kinda ignoring many of the toys that have appeared in this General. So it's understandable someone would criticize this playset for lacking in paint that appeared in other playsets.
Again, i personally shit on it all, because all these playsets arent worth even $40. I'm just here to add my two cents thanks to the sour grapes fable being misused.

the one I saw that was cheapest is the masterverse one with the netflix logo at ross but it was still $19.99 or something like that

I'm honestly leaning towards them not making any Karg at all.
Basically every other major Heroic and Evil Warrior has at least two figures across the three lines, announced if not released yet. And Karg is here with zero announced or released. You just have to look at Mattel's track record with every other subline and put two and two together to know it's not happening.

NTA but my Target finally cleared out the new movie Chronicles Battle Cat for $21 so I bought it. I’m also pretty new to Origins, is it a good fit to work with the movie or regular Origins? I know the saddle and helmet are different, although the helmet is really off model from the movie.

Hate to say it but it feels like we’re going to get an 87 Karg before we get the new movie one in Core, Chronicles or MV Origins. They said Core would continue at SDCC but didn’t showcase anything since it was more of a collector base there. For Chronicles they’re doing 1 movie character per wave along with the special Goat & Beast Mans.

Did anyone see that shit during Pixel Dan’s video where the guy was backtracking on the promise saying it didn’t include 87 movie characters where previous guys have said even the Giants and Dinos were included. Maybe they’ll have something special with say Karg like an old and new 2 pack. Those non movie Chronicles look like pure shite.

Yeah I want this guy more than anything but it needs a huge design overhaul. Either make it half the size and keep its current features, or turn the inside into an actual playset. It's also so large that there should be more things on the outside of it, like a fold out platform on top that figures can ride it into battle on with like a working crane and a couple more gunner stations and a small pterosaur spy that can launch off it.
>>

I was looking for some stuff for a buddy, some wrestling figures, and stuff for myself, during Target's reset, and they barely had any of the MOTU down to 15%. Yeah I wonder what Mattel could do to add to it nowadays. I think the designer said it had piano wire in the prototype to make it stand up. Also Mattel is very good at making dinosaurs nowadays so I’m sure it could look better but the JP owners have made subtle changes to the dinosaurs so they can copyright the design. He feels like he needs more tech detail in the legs like the other 3 do. He’s had a box art appearance which means the former team at least considered making him at some point. The turret guns we already have from Point Dread.

I remember getting this comic and was wowed by all those tech dinosaurs, especially that cool ass spider.

Mine are like that too. My Target has restocked them about twice a month. The only things I see peg warming are battle cats and vehicles. It's only as boring as you want it to be, because it's up to you on how you interact with it.
It looks amazing, hence becoming a popular in the aftermarket by collectors who like amazing looking pieces for their shelves and dioramas.
I think the charm of a playset, at least for adults, isn't the amount of gimmicks it has, but how great it look, since most collectors just use playsets as background pieces.

Something like pic has a lot of interactive features AND is a stunning WORKING background piece too. Also, it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

While the series ends with the major conflicts resolved, there's some unresolved plot threads left open for the future like Teela's heritage, Adam's secret identity, and finally, Hordak's (eventual) return. All of this would've been dealt with in the latter half of Season 2 and a full Season 3 had the series kept going. But yeah, the 200X series ends well enough where the good guys beat the bad guys and everything goes back to the status quo with no cliffhangers in the end, but don't expect certain overarching character plot threads to get proper resolutions.
>>
>>11877723
Both the alternate hinged sword holding hand and open palm hand are from the Adam and cringer 2pack. From what I can tell the skin tone between Adam and Faker is the same and I can only assume the first release cartoon he-man is the same, but i dont own it.

>>11877689
Yeah it’s really good they made that line, I remember one day hunting in a Target and saw a little kid wanted a Power Ranger ( I think it was a red one) but his mom said absolutely not since it was $28. At least now there’s cheap MOTU and I think PR figs for that little kid to get. Hasbro’s greed is unreal.

Also wasn’t there a talking point about the movie hitting 95% approval from under 12. That’s really hard to get with kids attention spans these days

Beyond the release in October and the next Amazon 4-pack? They're still missing fisto, dian, randor, spikor, and karg. After that, if this is just a wishlist: a he-man variant with an axe, a he-man variant with a shield that doesn't have scratches on it, a skeletor with a purple power sword and dian in her royal guard outfit. I pre-ordered the entire next wave when it was announced, but given how much more my son and I like origins figs, vehicles and playsets I've cancelled all of them except ram man (really want an axe for he-man). But I could probably be tempted to buy about half the figures I mentioned if they got around to making them. Buyer beware, the movie playset and core battle cat are real stinkers imo. The roton and sky sled are the best parts of the toyline.

No, the internet has become a hell of a lot more optimistic now that the irony bros have begun to die off. In the case of the MOTU movie its just a bunch of fags starting off in the sour grapes fallacy and are now in the sunk costs fallacy because it's success means they have to work even harder to convince people its secretly a disaster that will kill the brand forever and ever. What i said is in plain english and you're just twisting it around becasue you're butthurt i think a shitty playset isn't worth $300.

a playset that costs $300 yet should only cost $80-100, because thats the objective value of a kiddy playset with next to no paint.

The gate and books have the same amount of play value as each other, but the books require a lot of imagination to stand in for the gate. You're paying $$$ for the gate to literally be a realistic looking gate and feature per feature, its objective value is worth the money, because it was fairly priced.
Pic is also a cool playset that was worth the money back in the day and holds up today... in fact, looks better than anything made in the past decade.

vintage toys tend to hold their value, because they're the original.

The value for vintage shit tends to only drop when the fanbase dies, either because they lost interest or they're old and slowly dying off without anyone to replace them. Elvis and Cowbow and indians/westerns are two examples of collectibles where prices have dropped significantly.

literally a playset. It was called a playset by McFarlane, sold as a playset by KB, used as a playset by kids, yet you're introducing modern terms that adults use because they're too mature for playsets.

You're like those fags who call movies a film or comics a graphic novel.

Less overall tooling required + he came out during their Cartoon PoP fap session.

>>

I'll probably end up getting the new one too since I have both origins grayskulls. I pitched what I thought was a low-ball on a snake mountain listing that was ending soon and the seller bit without any haggling. We're talking about the same company that thought naked Stratos and Snake Infiltrator were good ideas.
Sometimes Mattel sticks their head up their ass and cares more about cost than what sells
>>
>>11878564
>naked Stratos
After looking for a regular strat recently and seeing all the pics with intentionally dogshit lighting to make their nude stratos look gray, Mattel should make rereleasing the normal version one of their top priorities just to fuck over shifty sellers. That and thunder punch since the going rate is over $70. Really just any figure fetching more than double its retail price needs a new run if they want to keep the brand hot, and I'm of the unpopular opinion that it should happen before new products get made so they don't lose any of the momentum they've made this year.

>>
>>11877766
Doesn't look nearly as fun or interesting as that greenish castle set anon posted last thread to go with his Grayskull. But yes, a single wall or fraction of staircase would obviously be cheaper than something larger with more interactive features, regardless of whether the Snake Mountain set is appropriately priced.
>>
>>11878306
I think there’s a chance we’ll got these guys in Origins. Axel shared design drawings for him and Karg from the Mattel archives. The trooper had a feature where he fell apart like the Horde Trooper and for Karg beside the arm swing he had a big furry piece attached to his head and down his back.

I’m hoping next year with the 40th of the movie we’ll get a Fathom Event where it’s like a double feature of 87 and the new one to celebrate it’s first anniversary

>I always wished for Darkstalkers playstets similar to the McFarlane ones.
i had to read this twice, because at first i thought you said there were Darkstalker playsets.

I remember as a kid passing over a ton of playsets, because of their stupid play features, because i hated action features. I always liked stuff like GI Joes for their poseabiilty and detail and wanted playsets to be that way too. Hell, GI Joe had miniplaysets without action features too, but these were before i started getting into GI Joe. I was too busy with He Man to care about GI Joe.
>>
>>11879057

>>
>>11878444
There are tons cheap to make characters fans would love (Skelecon, Photog, Goat Man, Vykor, Slime Pit He-Man...) but Mattel is really arbitrary who gets made

Or rather used to be arbitrary - now they just make Axel OCs. I think the last randomly picked character was Despara.
>>
>>11879193
I'm beginning to wonder if they're not just going to phase out regular Origins in favor of haphazardly putting out sublines
(And by regular I mean normal figures on the traditional card back like picrel)
Vintage is almost done
Filmation and 200x variants and OCs have their own lines they can get shuffled into
Most Axel OCs seem positioned to for PoG
And this new boxed set refresh is even a different packaging style and doing away with the minicomics and that's where our main cast variants are headed
So what's left that could get released in the original Origins style? Just stuff like you mentioned which Mattel doesn't seem interested in making and really could just get added to the new refresh. Like Skelcon or Slime Pit he-Man I could easily see being in future BAF waves

Damn son. You sound neuro atypical af.

As for the snake playset. It's a big meh. Over priced for what it is. But I dont hate it. If it were cheap and easy to get maybe worth an purchase.

Formo is supposed to be making that unreleased Castle of Doom from the Galaxy Warriors. Personally that seems way cooler and I would probably support by preordering.

>ast randomly picked character was Despara.
Even then Despara isn't that random because she's She-Ra.

It's funny how She-Ra is the only She-Ra character to be marketable. She's so popular she was in Origins few times, had 2 Masterverse figures, had 200X figure, was set-up in CGI, Revelation and Movie, will be in the retro game, was added to Fortnite...but rest of her cast is completely forgotten. I wouldn't even expect them if movie gets a sequel.

Random though: Did anyone tried ever redesign Gwildor, Blade, Saurod and Karg to fit vintage? I mean people say they dont fit and no duh, movie versions of He-Man, Teela and rest would also look out of place next to vintage versions. But even Karg in his comic colors already looks much better.

Not really, considering the toy industry shifted toward action-featureless toys.

I guess I jinxed myself cause today was the day. They only had Duncan and Tri-Klops left but they were back up to full price. So I just got MaA and I've gotta say he's a little underwhelming. His blaster's grip is too wide so it fits awkwardly in his hand and the shrunk done version of his mace is a sculpted detail on his thigh instead of removable. So when he's wielding his mace it's also sheathed like a glitch in the matrix. I also wish the bombs on his belt were removable too. He's great otherwise.

Are you a millenial or a zoomer, who never knew how prone to breaking any of the old HeMans are because you never grew up with them muchless touched one?

Or are you doubting the fact that the toys didn't cater to action features anymore, because the 00s was all about highly detailed, super articulated, no-soringloaded bullshit?

The 90s was bullshit. So many dumb action features, so i bet you grew up there if you like your toys to look wonky and have limited articulation for the sake of springs and electronics.
The 80s was only a mixture of it, because that's when they were slowly adding them, testing out if kids liked them.
The 70s and before was almost devoid of action features.

Thankfully, they found out that kids mostly disliked them. It actually decreased playtime and future purchases with older kids (8+?), so they jumped onto the latest trend of highly detailed dynamic looking toys (preposed turned out to be lame, so they started featuring more articulation).

>>
>>11880352
The horse is nice, I'd rather use it than keep it pose. My one bit of unsolicited advice is that you should carefully take it out of the clam shell, heat it up (either a blow dryer or hot water bath), make sure everything that's suppose to articulate does what's it's supposed to, and then make sure it's dry (if you did the water bath bit) and then you can put it back in the clam shell.

Toys aren't designed to stay like, in a box, or that same post, even if you took it completely out of the packaging. It's not "healthy" for them, so to speak.

No way, sorry idiots, you overpaid for nothing. The market is about to be swamped with snake mountains as people go in for one with a mildly different paint job and more accessories. Whether or not you find it objectively "better" or not is irrelevant, either way there will be a large subset of people selling off their old one to get the new, slightly different one.

They may well make a "snake" snake mountain at some point as a third rerelease, but It wont be this one directly after the snake lair shipping.
>>
>>11881120
Yeah that's why the yellow grayskull sells for the exact same price as the normal one.
>>
>>11881141
Are you arguing with me? If so fuck off and you're wrong. The new grayskull is more expensive largely because costs have gone up, so if snake mountain came out today with no changes it would have a slight price bump. They'll change some stuff and add a little bit to make this price bump sting a bit less. Also you can currently find the first regular origins grayskull for cheap so it's not the same thing since snake mountain is more expensive than a re issue or rerelease would be.

Anyway, kill yourself.

Couldn't tell you. I can say that the wind raider post and stridor post seem to be too different on the inside to be compatible. Since the wind raider post has some kind for spring latching mechanism for the stops I don't really want to try too hard to get it off unless I have a spare, so it looks like I'll just have a cool flat area inside grayskull for the time being.

Mattel should totally just get into the habit of doing an accessory packs, with - as you suggest - multiple hands in multiple colors
they essentially have an entire line of this for their dolls so the concept isn't new to them and they see this sells and makes money.
I would buy one just for different swords, axes, shields, etc.

Now there's a though. If Mattel is always going to prioritise putting new versions of big names over obsure fan favorites, what are your most wanted figures that are variants of He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Evil-Lyn, MAA, etc?
>>
>>11881401
And some alt heads, I'm still after a proper vintage accurate MAA head
>>
>>11881670
Yep.
I mean they do packs that are just shoes, even for the Ken dolls, so they can do weapons packs, alternate head packs, alternate harness or armor packs, and -- of course -- alternate hands in multiple colors.
I mean, they could probably do multiple different packs of hands, like all fists in multi colors, or humanoids, snakes, moss/mer and all the various other bodies, each in their own color, with interchangable hands
it's literal money on the table they are just leaving there.
>>
>>11881697
Yeah, they seem to uninterested in "wasting time" on small stuff for Motu like that. Maybe they would need a pack-in figure? Like make a new guy named Handor packed with all those hands.

My Tri Klops arrived. I'm happy but disappointed he only has one sword. Now that >>11877268 confirmed for me that I can't swap parts, is there any reason for me to get the other Masterverse Tri Klops other than I want the swords?

And yes, I can afford $20+ - I don't really need a duplicate body just to get a slightly different colored cross-guard/hilt on one sword and a bonus sword.

After getting that SDCC 2 pack that’s what I expected Origins to be if it went to be a full toyline. It was kind of the perfect amount of hands, punching, gripping and open. You’d only need the bent sword aloft hand or maybe a pointing finger hand for certain characters and it wouldn’t been perfect. Nope! We have to remake muh exact vintage line at a cheap price point. They quickly jumped up to the same price point as the WWE Superstars which come with multiple hand options and soft goods and they pay royalties on these. It makes no sense. Watch them make a DC Superheroes and a TMNT Origins type line and they’ll have multiple hands.

>>11881785
If I’m not mistaken that MV Priest TK’s sword was repainted in that New Eternia one but then you get the cross sell sword. Nothing is confirmed yet but I’m sure Tri-Klops will get an update in that new BAF line and will probably come with his cross sell sword.>>11881785

It might be that there are so many GD barbies and kens in circulation that only need new shoes, clothes and accessories to 'update' to pass down to new kids but they make enough of those accessories that they even peg and get clearanced down to Ross (and presumably Ollies or where ever else).
But they do make accessories for the WWE - although a quick check on their site and I don't see that they sell them separately so maybe someone with socials needs to @ them on xshitter and instagram about it?
I would have paid say $27.99 for a multi-pack of say Core He-Man with Camo (or night vision?) He-Man that came with a different sword, that stupid grappling, and a third head, and 2 or 3 other hands. Especially of one of the Core figures already had say fisted/boxing hands on him. In stead, I have four duplicate swords, two unique ones, that are identical and about four identical heads, and two nearly identical heads with camo paint on them, and 12 essentially identical hands.
>>
>>11881820
It was gay that these had a bunch of features that never got used. A working knife sheath and cloth goods? Come on faggots. I don't care about extra hands so much but I'd love things that actually add to the toy.
>>
>>11881849
You're doing your figures wrong if you can't appreciate why you wouldn't want fisted hands and not just hands that can grab or hold an axe/sword.
You're right - extra weapons add more value, but extra hands aren't going to cost that much or take up that much package real estate. Right now, the Chronicles boxes uses an entire edge of the box for accessories, which they are sticking in those stupid paper bags that take up less than 10-15% of that box edge.
You don't want hands - fine, no one is forcing them on you. But at least 3 other people have said they want them and that's just here on this Mongolian basket-weaving image site..
>>
>>11881820
>MV Priest
Ah okay, I had to look this up, because I had heard this outfit called "cult leader" - but I see he became the priest in a cult.
Any ways, his sword is identical to one of the two swords to the New Eternia version, except the color (on the cross guard by the hilt) is different and the NE also has extra paint apps to make those jewels on his cross guard stand out more.
Since I wasted all this time, it looks like I should buy the Anti-Eternia He-Man for his three swords but no one that I am not already buying will get me that second Tri-Klops sword.
>>
>>11881837
>I don't see that they sell them separately so maybe someone with socials needs to @ them on xshitter and instagram about it?
They're never going to separate that stuff from the wrestlers. Buy them on clearance or troll eBay. There are plenty of people who part out the wrestlers every wave, but if you want SCSA's vest, hands, and leg braces you may as well just buy one at retail at that point for what it'll cost. That Piper set dropped down to $20 before it was gone. That's 3 figures, lots of open, point, fist, and c hands with cloth gear and even a background playset.
>>
Did anyone with the Filmation CC torso come in black? The slightly stubbier neck works will for a custom but I can't think who might have a default black torso to use
>>
>>11881849
That cloth good in particular might have been a Prince Adam test. Who knows. Otherwise, your points are bogus BS.
>>
>>11882123
Mattel sells those, that's why I used those as examples of Mattel doing accessories not just for Barbie's but for lines for kids and adult collectors. I was hoping to find an example of them (Matty) selling some WWE stuff by itself, but you're right - they don't.
I have no interest in wrestling stuff except for the VERY random head sculpt. And yeah, almost always I'm grabbing that off the secondary market.
I'm still one of the people saying Mattel should be doing this (and doing more of it, extra weapons, extra heads, etc.) with Chronicles and whatever higher end sets they are going to put out.
But thanks for your feedback.

You know you can upload an image to Photo, which should have been among all the "free" fucking bloatware garbage dumped into PCs and laptops, and it will 'find' the background of your image, and do a soft erase.
Or even remove everything, which is what I did. It looks like shit because it's fucking late and I wasn't going to waste time on something and I'm not even trying to slag on you. Just put a solid color towel over your head (and a long sleeve tee for picture taking) if your only camera is on the PC monitor and it will erase it.
Or deal with it.

Extra hands are the worst kind of toy accessory. I'd say probably 95% of toys that include a bunch of extra hands shouldn't have them, or shouldn't have nearly as many.

Decent toy design should be designing a figure with hands that can hold all sorts of accessories, and likewise designing accessories that all fit in the same hands. It's ridiculous seeing stuff like a Mezco figure come with literally 20 hands, and one of them is to hold a little knife and one of them is to hold a wrench, and both of them are like 1 mm difference in handle width.

This is especially true with a line like MOTU which is toy focused, not stupid toy photography wannabe collector fag based.

There's nothing worse than having a bunch of useless accessories sitting in a box or on a shelf somewhere, and nothing is more useless than a dozen extra hands. Weapons can be sheathed or in holsters, gear can be over shoulders or in backpacks, creatures or pets can be on leashes, outfits whether cloth or plastic can be layered. But extra hands are always going to be just extra plastic junk that you can't use at the same time or even in any kind of play environment or diorama scene.

Unless it's a character like spiderman there is almost no excuse for it.
>>
>>11882712
This is an absolutely absurd take. Hands and facial expressions are incredibly important for giving context to a scenario involving interactions between characters, whether it be play or photography. Things like shouting faces and pointing hands would add much more of a fun factor to having skeletor berating his minions for example. If you are just going to have fixed hands and faces, with the already limited articulation you may as well just bash statues together which imo is one step away from drawing smiley faces on a couple of rocks.
>>
>>11882716
NTA but while I wouldn't ask to remove extra hands from figures and I don't think they are the worst type of accessory I do sympathize a little, they do annoy me a bit.

I don't like storing them and I like just being able to grab something from my shelf and mess around with it without having to worry about pulling out the hands from storage so the new pose works perfectly. OBVIOUSLY having the option is better, and I mean if you hate them, just pick a pair you like and get rid of the rest, BUT I do have some appreciation for:

1.- Articulated fingers (these really only work on robots tho, sadly)

2.- Keeping things simple, there's characters that probably need 5 or 10 pairs of hands, but most don't, I think depending on the character you shouldn't need more than 3, I prefer a figure that comes with 3 very distinct essential pairs of hands, than one that comes with 10 but 3 are basically the same with little variations.

Well good to know anon. I'm glad you might not be suffering from MPB!
I mean, I understand why they do it, but baseball caps in doors, when you already are presenting a high forehead even with the Effing Ball Cap on.
It's like putting a huge bullseye on their head and going "I'M BALD/BALDING!!!!"
>>
>>11882712
>or shouldn't have nearly as many.
I don't want to pile on but since you replied to me, I'd agree with you on this in certain cases. Spider-Man is also a good example, but He-Man being able to hold or grab, and also punch, is just as perfect of an example.
But I'm not just wanting extra hands, I'm also saying I'd want a second sword. So while your point about Mezco, while exaggerated, is not unreasonable, no one here was suggesting either extreme. You keep (or are now adding to) the NO extra hands and using a 20 extra hands extreme as the only other reasonable or obvious alternative when it's clearly not what people are asking for.

>>11882738
>I don't like storing them
A small 4"x4" clear plastic 1-3" deep clamshell with a lid on your shelf takes care of it. It should fit a good 40 or more hands which even for someone with a huge Origins collections should do them. I would keep duplicates but ever so often, you could just dump excess in a pile of 10 or so matched sets of hands for like $10-$15 or in a fodder lot with what ever broken or other junk you want tog get rid. Put it in a box, all bubble wrapped, and ready for a mailing label and stick it in your closet and let it relist until sold. Price is cheaply enough and someone will buy it.

I'm far more anal than this gentlemen >>11883061 and use multiple tackle boxes but I have over a hundred heads for making customs or just to resell/swap, etc. And one tackle box just for weapons. But I literally have tons of machine guns and hand guns.

I just got 1600 off brand LEGO type bricks and figured a free-handed Snake Mountain or similar would be fun to attempt.
I was looking at pictures for ideas - why is the Mattel Bricks GRAY? Isn't the mountain almost always purple with maybe some green for a snake walkway? I went down a rabbit hole of looking for old pictures and old playsets.
And that new crowd-funded Creations play set looks essentially like a snake-skin wallet, more grayish (dull) green than anything else.
I mean, I don't have enough purple bricks anyways, so whatever I do will look like multi-colored crap anyways, but I at least want to make SOME effort?

Sadly Bandai fodder doesn't come up much and when it does, because it includes things I have no use for at all - like face plates - and characters and IP I've no interest in, it just ends up being a lot of fodder for me to be forced to try to re-sell.

Again, not my idea.
It actually was suggested by others in a thread I made earlier this year about storage for accessories:
https://archive.palanq.win/toy/thread/11714463/
I bought these beads/craft boxes at Ross, for about $3.99 to $4.99, that are flat and see through, but are laid out like a briefcase, so easy to carry around.
Whereas the tackle boxes I was finding at say Walmart or Dick's were brown or other dark colors: orange, or black, plus about twice as expensive.
Here's what I bought:https://imgur.com/a/s4iACYE,
You can spend a lot of time sorting, and it can become a never-ending project.
But apparently this is a topic that comes up a lot and you can find other, older threads about it. PICREL is an actual tackle box of some anon, and the Joe's General and a few others discuss storage as well. I can imagine the LEGO people do, too.

That's why I even labeled it as not mine. I stole that picture so those pussy's ain't MINE. It was a good picture to steal because that anon also went for a clear tackle box, which I saw at Walmart in their hunting gear area, for like $13.99 and higher. And since I wanted like 2-4 of them, it was 'fuck that noise.'
His box was also a good example because it was deep. I did get three SMALL (about the size of your standard tablet) craft boxes just for heads, helmets, hats, the ones I am immediately planning to sell (so I want them handy), and the ones that has the better head sculpts to swap.
This PIC is MINE. I probably have about 6-10 cowboy type hats, 4-6 soft helmets (I guess if I had ever been in the military I might call them Helmet Liners?), maybe 6-10 berets, about 25-40 helmet heads, about 10-14 ninja heads, maybe 2-4 baseball caps, 2 police helmets, about 8-10 hoods, etc. etc. A lot of this is Classified's fodder I won unintentionally and I don't really collect or display them as Joe's, to be honest.

I guess it's like a cigar box in how deep it is, and that's where I was originally storing my accessories that wasn't in a small baggie, with the actual figure that they came with, but were the extra (or purchased that way, separate heads mostly).
But then, like this gentlemen >>11883641 I ended up winning three different lots of people's stuff who had been probably collecting for 10-20+ years and had all this crap that they unloaded, so instant 20+ year collection all over my living room.
And that's why earlier this year I started asking for solutions as I sorted (and honestly, am still sorting, through some of this plastic crack).
I now own a few imports, and still own that fake book and those accessories are in there, labeled.

If you go look at the display thread right now, some anon has built-ins, if I had that option, I would stick them in a drawer, but since mine are like flat, thin brief cases, I just stack in the built-in shelves in my long closet, where most people would put crap like their shoes, or watches.

Not ideal but oh well. I’ll justify it as me getting them for my son to play with eventually. If turtles and dc weren’t a given in this format then I’d definitely pass tho.

What's the height on those?
What's wrong with the Mattel ones?

>What's the height on those?
10 inches I believe to the top of the horns since the line is 1/10 scale and the riders sit on them.
>What's wrong with the Mattel ones?
Which one? I didn't know there was one. I'm so used to collecting asian toys i'm kind of new to american ones.

Well if you aren't in the States, the Mattel ones might not make sense. You probably aren't going to save what I thought you would save but Mythic Legions - either way - since you would import those as well, will still be more expensive, just maybe have more detail.
I do like that color and the scale differential in your photograph, but I have no real knowledge about Storm Collectibles to be honest.
Attached is just a swiped pictures of a loose set of Jurrasic Park/JW dinos from Mattel (ebay lot selling for $60+), they've had that license for a long time.
I bought one that will fit a 6" Spider-Man so any origins or Chronicle should be able to ride him the same way that He-Man rides Battlecat or Skelator rides Panthor.
But you can definitely find bigger.
So you could get a Mattel 10" one in height (or even way bigger) which is definitely taller than mine, which is probably closer to 7" because it's doesn't stand like your picture.
Unfortunately, it's stuck in a box and I'd have to look for it, but I'll try to dig it out and photograph it with a Core figure for you, I don't own any Origins.
Any of the e-commerce sites and maybe BBTS should have the Mattel and you could probably wait for a sale, unless you want one TODAY today.
I waited around and the Mattel I purchased (new, retail) was only $12.99.

Why don't they just get a herd of scarepanthors that glow in the dark?
Mattel would probably make bank on that?

>display base ideas
You loose a certain amount of shelf space to display bases. I'm someone who likes them and uses them but unless you really need them to keep a figure in a pose, or they add something, diorama wise or otherwise, why spend the effort?
