I just spent around $100 on the Gan 17. This is basically a cutting edge engineering breakthrough for Rubik's cubes: UV coating, 196 magnetics, 72 tightness settings, immaculate construction. The magnets actually cause the pieces to "autocomplete" turns or repel back to neutral under less than 45 degree turns. I feel minorly retarded because I am 34 and just spent $100 on a toy and havent been into cubing since I was a teen, but this feels like a big boy cube.

OK this is the greatest cube ever. Turns smooth like butter, autocompletes turns. Feels like the cube is solving itself. Easy to adjust with the tools, no screwdriver needed. Only replacing the magnetic rods inside that control magnetic strength required disassembly.

I've gone from solving Rubik's cube maybe 3 times in the last 10 years after losing interest in it from my teens, to now I am back down to solving in under a minute and a half and trying to get faster. I know that's not fast but I am basically remembering how to solve after not trying for 15+ years. Probably solved like 50+ times this week. This is the Roll's Royce of Rubik's Cubes, the Roll's Rubik's. Using a regular ass Rubik's Cube feels like absolute dogshit now. Things are creaky and hard to turn, just applying basic algorithms feels like a pain in the ass. The Gan 17 is so smooth you can apply algorithms with your eyes closed, you can turn the layers with a simple flick. This is like going from playing video games on a 15 fps Game and Watch to playing in 4K 144Hz. The degree of control is so much stronger, you can do fingertricks with absolute ease. The magnets are doing all the work for you to almost make it feel like magic in your hands.
