The Tyrannosaurus & Trike 2.0 wave looks really solid. It's mostly just 2.0s and juveniles of existing figures, but other than the Chasmosaurs mother and baby, I think I might be getting 1 of everything.

Bagging extra pieces, cards, and instructions is almost much fun as opening the box itself. The joints get loose pretty quick and some of the Cyberzoic armor is a bitch to fit (looking at you, Allo helmet) but that's the trade-off for feeling so wonderfully chunky when held.

It's legitimately intense, feels dangerous, and the characters given room to breathe start to feel far more endearing than the live action casts. The rest is also largely good, but starts to feel a bit more ridiculous And like a kids show just from how much stuff is always happening and how many impossible situations are survived. But still overall far, far better than you probably expect.

Carnivores usually sell faster than herbivores, except for Pachycephalosaurus, which sold out in a couple of months.

The Nanmu Tyrannosaurus looks pretty good, much better than the PNSO Tyrannosaurus. >>11895343The standard feet are because the articulated feet are bad for long term support, most Nanmu owners, myself included, can tell you that after a while the toes loosen and make it tougher for the figure to stand. The preposed feet feel like a hold over, like the few theropods that still came woth static legs after the new stand system. We'll probably keep getting them in smaller figures that cant have articulated toes, but I doubt the Spinosaurus will have them.

The Afro-Eurasian Smilodontini also had minimal overlap with them, because they were grazers on the steppe while predators like Megantereon were mostly open-forest and scrub land predators. The Homotherini sabertooths that lived alongside the steppe giants generally had shorter and deeper sabers. There's a lot of evidence that Smilodon was a pack hunter based on the fact that we see injuries that should have been fatal to solitary forest cats like tigers and Megantereon but are healed over in Smilodon. So the prevailing theory is that Smilodon family units would wrestle prey to the ground and then one of family members would sever the prey's throat and key arteries with its sabers. However, we know from isotope analysis of the teeth of some populations of Smilodon populator in South America that their teeth were strong enough to punch through the skulls of black caiman and eat them like modern jaguars, so the sabers weren't super weak.
I've been thinking about getting the BotM Yutyrannus 2.0 (largely because I find the Cyberzoic version's color scheme kinda meh) and I must ask since this is apparently still a sorta older figure, how easy and/or hard is it to swap the static legs to the articulated ones?

My Spicomellus and Kentrosaurus came in recently and oh my god, posing the Spico is torture. It's not the stiff joints, that's a given, the back spikes specifically are just really annoying to work around and the tail pieces are so thin that they easily pop off. Also less major but still funny, Kentro came with two fact cards for some reason.

What are your hopes for the next releases in the Cenozoic line? I'm hoping they do a Megatherium/Eremotherium figure next, I love ground sloths so it's easily a dream figure of mine. I'm also hoping they do a Arctotherium or maybe even a Paraceratherium figure as well. My gut feeling is that they'd probably go for a Megaloceros or an Ambulocetus first, or maybe they'd finally release the Platybelodon and Gomphothere from the Eons kickstarter.
