The TV show was absolutely wonderful and very much ahead of its time but it had a different name than the toyline in most markets. Shadow Raiders: War Planets or vice versa depending on how you read it. The long and short of it is that it was a grossly mishandled property and that's a damn shame because it deserved to be a runaway success. It's a solid concept with one of the best Saturday morning cartoons of the 1990's.By the time the action figures of the TV show cast made their way to toy store shelves, the damage had already been done. I only ever remember seeing the Shadow Raiders figures at outlet malls and discount stores. Never saw them at a Walmart or a TRU but the planet playsets were very common.
Asked Grok about these and it thought for three minutes just to elaborately hallucinate them as Bakugan.

The way I saw it from when I was a kid is the supplementary moon toys weren't that cool and you were more likely to get them as they were a lower price point. Also like there was alot of competition. I don't remember exactly what was on the shelves at the time but I know it was good stuff.
Imagine an RTS prequel where you stage raids or have to defend against them. What a great show in many ways.

Did it? I thought it had more than one wave. The sand and water planets definitely came out after the fact.My friend had the water one with the giant jellyfish in the center of the planet. Wish i had gotten it, it's like impossible to find now.
What black magic did they use for the tentacles on the bone planet? They were so much more flexible than more bendable wire toys, and (correct me if you guys have seen then), they never seemed to break from stress.Hell, you can even compare them with the bendy connection pieces from the moons, and those weren't nearly as flexible.
I loved the aesthetics of the ice planet stuff, but it was all covered in glitter than regularly flaked, and I fucking hated getting glitter on me as a kid. >>11887712The moons were cool but you had to get enough of them to make a network of connections before they really amounted to anything.
