While SS86 Grimlock was indeed molded with all the little internal greebles to match his OG toy despite his neck being initially molded in solid plastic, they abandoned the idea from Snarl onwards. Thus, redoing Grimlock's neck in clear plastic like they're doing for the Dramatic Capture version (and like they already did for Toxitron and G2 Grimlock) shows off those details, but doing Snarl's and Sludge's heads in clear won't show anything because they never put anything there to begin with; they'd need to be retooled (as would the inevitable Slag and Swoop releases), which won't be happening, since these are just another cash grab.

With the recent releases of the Seekers, Red Alert, ect it is clear we are officially retreading G1 again. My question is where are we going from here? You’ve got some guys getting new molds, while others like Shockwave just get degreebled. Are we going to continue to get some weird mashup of new molds and old ass retools? Who needs redone the most? I’m looking at Tracks. Who needs redone the least? I always thought pic rel was near perfection. A wonderful update that strictly adhered to the G1 design. Does he need degreebled? Im sure they’re dying to release a painted window version of anyone they can. But then I remember that 86 Optimus and Megatron have too many greebles. They’ll make us wait years for degreebled versions of them only to then change the aesthetic back to greebles again? Are they intentionally making a toyline that will never ever have 100% design cohesion?
Oh and I almost forgot about the gray faces now. Seems the new thing is gray faces yet they continue to also release figures with silver faces. Is Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus (and itty bitty Minimus Ambus) the only example of a Micromaster that actually pilots a larger robot WHILE IN ROBOT MODE and not by turning into something Headmaster-like?It seems like a bit of a waste that all of the Micromaster transports and stations just turned into base modes, when the components seem like they could have just as easily been turned into the barely articulated Headmaster bodies.Bases are fun ... but so are little robots piloting big robots, sort of like they established they were willing to do with Powermaster Optimus Prime.

AoTP G2 Slag and Snarl just arrived and in person I actually really like how the colours look next to 86 Grimlock, I think i even prefer Slag's blackface for how it looks inside the dino head over the red. I was a bit eh on snarl before getting him since he looked really top wide that it looked odd in photos but in person and once posed he looks great, my only issues seem to be Slug has slightly wobbly lower legs just below the knees so he tends to lean back a little after posing and one of Snarls back spines is warped. Now I just need to wait on 86 Sludge and more importantly Swoop to come back.

Furthermore, I’m re-remembering that there is nothing truly elegant about most of the latest Studio Series. Theyre not truly accurate at all. Most of them look like a bunch of Lego blocks with a slightly more accurate color palette than the previous release. This actually makes me appreciate the 86 seekers even more because they are the sole exception to this and actually have most of the elegant lines they are supposed to have. 86 Optimus legs do have some decent shape to them but Megatron and Soundwave are basically totally fucked ip in this regard.

Do any of you have experience fixing the chest cannon on 2007 Deluxe Swindle/Camshaft? I recently got a copy that has some trouble locking in and wanted to open up the assembly and see what can be done, but some of the parts fell out (the U shaped piece was broken - I glued it) before I got a good look and now I'm struggling to figure out what goes where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Based on the dozen or so reviews I watched, absolutely glazing the fuck out of this figure, I was about to come here and say that 86 Soundwave is the new most overrated figure of all time. But I checked tfw and he actually got shit on quite a bit. Theyre usually incredibly forgiving of most figures so when tfw dosent like it you know it’s pretty bad. This figure is deluxe engineering and voyager sized (and weight…barely) at leader pricepoint. It has so many things wrong with it. Do I hate it? No. Is this figure insanely lackluster? You better believe it. One thing I realized about it; it actually feels like more of an update of the toy than the toon design. Almost like a budget missing link, which is not what I wanted out of this figure.

Some anons helped me out with advice on potp hun-gurrr some threads ago, he turned up safe and sound and complete, enigma cube and all.Then by luck, I managed to find the last 3 limb bots that seemed oddly rare and hard to find not too long after. So thanks to /tfg/ I got my core bot just in time to luck into the limbs, meaning my lonesome Cutthroat finally has his friends. Abominus is an absolute terror to pose or do much more than stand up straight so far (Unsure if my secondhand hun-gurrr just has loose thigh/hip joints or if that's normal) but they're all so colourful and cool looking, and Cutthroat has his squad.He needs a gun or something though, does anyone have any suggestions?

Feeling grateful today that neither my Sandstorm nor Ruckus's tires are bleeding plasticizer. I live in a hot, humid area, though, and I'm paranoid that if we lose power for a while that they'll start "sweating." On that note, I recently went through my entire collection and for sure the only yellowing figure I have is Tigatron. Cyclonus might have changed a bit, I'm not 100% sure, but he's getting replaced by SS86 and possibly customized into Zeta Prime. In torso mode, look through the hole between the legs and you'll see two rectangular plastic springs which provide some extra resistance against the hip ratchets. These springs are not very strong, either. I cut two small lengths of 5mm styrene tubing and fit one inside each, lengthwise. I'd like to take some pictures but most of my collection is in storage bins, it's late, I'm exhausted from work. I'll try to get to it tomorrow.Finally, never forget that water-based polyurethane can be dripped between parts which touch in order to add additional friction between them. Get a small can of WBP and a syringe bottle, add a few drops of water to thin it so it runs into gaps. A few light applications between the ratchet teeth can help. (Pic related, I tightened up Sandstorm's joints today.)

Got this over the weekend.Decent movements, but it can't be helped with the legs with the overlong shin. I do wish the waist pads are with the crotch instead of the torso. Good thing the torso splits open that people complaining about does not happen on my. Though still not sure if I should have gotten the original version with the mask. The grey on that one sucks and I don't remember if Prime ever has his mask on in last knight. Yeah I think this is it for me for the movie stuff; unless they are coming out with a MP that match the exact body shape of the film>how about DCS?Oh god no, not again
