>>11894193It annoys me how pricey all the revivals and reissues from over the years continue to be. There's a kind of sheepishness to reintroduce these sorts of toys to a kid market. The closest we got in the last forty years were those jakks big figs, and they all died because of star wars. We recently got a revival of that line from some no name company who put out that 30 inch Optimus so that's worth some celebration. What I'd really love to see is a full force commitment to reviving the line with original designs, original lore, etc. For a time Toynami promised they were working on something like that but nothing came of it beyond a few prototypes.

>>11905251They like it clearly. They have a distinct canon over there and everything. Shogun Warriors on the other hand was localized to just the West. What lore followed never saw light outside of the Anglosphere. It must be strange to see hallmarks of mecha anime just randomly strewn together like they were. There wasnt an Optimus Prime before Optimus Prime in the way there was a Go-Lion before Voltron. In Shogun Warriors these are just the same robots, designs and all, retrofitted into a new canon altogether. Most of them kept the same names for crying out loud.
