So the Blokees Eva figures are kinda meh IMO (way too big, poor articulation etc) but they are fairly affordable and easily obtainable sources of decent Eva girl heads for putting on other bodies, and as I already have Rei and Asuka (and may get Mari) I figured I might as well use them for that. I'm working on combining Asuka here with a bootleg SHF Lunch body; the quality on the bootleg joints is shockingly good and with a bit of modelling and painting TLC it'll make for a perfect base. Need to decide on what actual theme to go with; something suitably coomery and degrading of course. I've already given her a tube-top by removing her shoulder straps and have turned the already short shorts into cutoffs, but need to think about further sculpting and subsequent painting. The body (joints aside) will be fully painted as the skintone doesn't match the head, but that's easy enough.I'm thinking goth-thot would be fun, but could be tempted to do ganguro/gyaru, though that might require repainting the face. Any suggestions?

Silicone is very soft and you need to be careful about getting it dirty or dusty, or oils being stripped out. The worst enemy of silicone is the metal frame inside, it wears through the silicone and pokes through in high stress spots like feet, shoulders, elbows. Since this is a hollow and much less flexible torso with a plastic frame underneath, it's a lot more durable.Your worst enemy is those clothes though - take them off, wash, and actually use a dye fixative. I washed the dress on cat maid until the water was clear but it still dyed her torso through the underwear layer as well as her arms and hands, after a month. Their black and red fabrics seem to have a problem so treat it before it gets bad.

I'm honestly surprised the boots are even two pieces, those ankle guard are wide enough that they could've been attached to the foot without too much loss of articulation. I get straps look cool and all, but a handle makes shields stay in place far better. I also gave mine a skimpy white dress, which kind of works well enough for me. It doesn't work too great around her chest, but the rest of the outfit matches well with her aesthetic. I also managed to lower her tail from the middle of her back to right over her thong, where it feels much more natural for a tail to grow from. She's only my second Snail Shell and she's a neat figure, but she's got a lot of little nit-picks that bug me. Used my copy of the Rin base body to revamp my old busted Cattleya. Basically turned boots and arm gaurd into hollow pieces that slide over the existing limbs and did a breast transplant to move Cattleya's tits to rin's smaller upper body. Cattleya's stomach also got hollowed out and used since it's belly isn't as cut and fills her clothes better.
The yellowed joints aren't too bad on my copy, I get the feeling that with how the elbows are yellowed though they are going to likely disintegrate in a couple years. I had at one point thought of using Ghost for this, but she costs way too much to do something like this with. I think this worked out pretty good though. I do need to pick up a flesh weathering kit to try to blend the skin colors a little better since Cattleya has a more opaque pink tone to rins lighter tone.
