Picked this one up out of impulse. He has all the usual Hasbro failings, so there's no point in belaboring those. I'd say he's alright at Wal-Mart or current Amazon price, but not more. If he makes it to Ross sub-$30 he's a no-brainer. Thanks for reading my blog, kek.

ms marvel went retarded
>>
>>11901182
Closest thing is a super fucking expensive and rare as fuck Todd McFarlane redesigned "Man of Miracles".
>>
>>11901126
It's not going to last ten issues. This roster is shit and Armageddon has been such a huge flop that Marvel had to rewrite the plot to include a new Miraclemam to try and salvage it, due to it having low order numbers ala Imperial.
>>
>>11901207
I guess I'll just wait for the inevitable ML. We will get one sooner than later.

>>11901208
This roster is based and feels very 2000s. I'm in it for the first few issues at least.
>>
>>11901182
I think the only official Miracleman figure is the old McFarlane one.
>>
>>11901213
They did make Angela pretty quick after Marvel fully acquired her
>>
>>11901228
Marvel has had Miracleman for like 15 years. They've been publishing his books but probably couldn't justify making an ML of him until he appeared in 616. The question is, will we get a classic Micky Moran alt head since the figure will clearly be based off of the David Colton version.

>>
>>11901039
This review was so performatively negative. Half of it seemed like him just needing to be consistent with his super negative reaction to the reveal, and the other half because he feels the need to “knock Hasbro down a peg”. Realistically, explain the big difference that seperates this from a Figuarts, which they randomly charge anywhere from $40 to $80 to $100 for a figure of similar size, accessories and features. $55-$60 is around the low price range for an import figure, and this release has way more unique sculpt and paint than something like Maximum Spider-Man. I think this Thor actually perfectly encapsulates the potential of this line, and it’s a really good figure.
>>
>>11901126
Idk why they’re treating Miracle Man as some value-add for the Marvel universe. Digging up old, dead IPs isn’t what’s going to compete with manga.
>>
>>11901567
That's all his reviews are. Performitively negative. At this point, guy feels like the DSP of toys. It's so blatantly obvious he does his whole schtick for views and isn't really that negative/stupid in real life. But if it gets him those precious views he's after.

One of my 'It'll never happen but a guy can dream' wave is a Marvel Godzilla wave. Could put Doctor Demonicus in it, with Godzilla being a build a figure. I just don't know who else to put in the wave.
>>
>>11902291
I hit three Ross stores that day, I was hoping to find the third wave of something someone else on another gen had reported. Only one had any Windows. All of them had Legends but even shit that had peg warmed elsewhere, like Franchine Frye or the Owl.
Like many other metro areas, the Targets here tend to suck. And there are no Walmart.
Most people order on line or if they missed out, try the overpriced marker-up options at GameStop. I like finding stuff but rarely find Legends I personally want.
It's cases after repeated cases of Spider-Verse peg warmers or Bloodstorm and Titania. And I don't need a domino mask on the head sculpt kitbash I am working on, friend.

tl;dr some folks don't have Ollie's in their area or even Walmart

Anthonys review scores are always warped by if he likes the look of the figure. What he points out is always valid though and he's good for that.
>>
>>11902851
I’m travelling for work so I found an Ollie’s, which I don’t have near me. They had two aisles with random figures. It was just a bunch of Eternals and Jimmy Woo. BUT they did have a couple MCU Baron Mordo, which I got one so I could make a custom Mandarin from the outfit.
>>
>>11902936
This is true, he either rates figures too high because he's using grade school grading where 7=C or he's spite pointing something that still has some value down to a 0. He should rate how much he thinks the figure is worth in USD
>>
I learned long ago that it really isn't worth going to Ross or Ollies based on what you see other people posting that they got for cheap at those stores. Chances are the ones near you have nothing good, especially if you're in an area where figures tend to sell out at Walmart and Target. That means your area has too many collectors for you to ever get good discounts.
>>
>>11902980
Yes like it’s pretty stupid to watch as an adult with mental continuity so you’re aware of like a dozen reviews where he’s given similar figures a 9/10. He called their Ultimate Captain America one of their best figures ever, a figure that’s pretty comparable to the Maximum Thor. Just with less features and detail. But he very obviously feels the need to come up with reasons to drag it down to a 2/10 because it’s $20 more expensive than a regular figure. I actually think Hasbro realizing there’s nothing seperating them from making import quality figures is a good thing, and while they’ve made stupid decisions like each Hulk head being a different artist, the Maximum series has been getting better and better. And to say otherwise is a bit disingenuous.
>>
>>11902982
It's very hit and miss in my area. Sometimes they're stocked with all sorts of good stuff, other times it's barren. It just depends on the day I guess. Also, some stores are better than others. I live near like three and there is one that is always more stocked than the other two.
>>
>>11902987
I have all four Maximum releases so far. And yeah, I have to say, barring Hulk, each one is slightly better than the previous. And Hulk isn't terrible, it's just the heads and rubber torso that kinda kill it. Thor is easily the best though. Maximum Black Suit Spidey is kind of meh, it does look good, but comparing him to Thor he does feel a bit stripped down. Accessory wise he's fine, but he's just a very basic figure compared to how intricate Thor turned out to be,/

You are acting like the product that shows up at say a Central Valley/Central California Ross (Fresno/Sacramento, etc.) is based on what product is not sold at a Walmart or a Target in those areas. One of the largest Target suppliers of this kind of products (wholesale/clearance re-seller) is in the eastern mid-west and they sell directly to consumers on-line or to clearance outlets; since it not all toys, that means TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, etc. And everywhere, from Florida to Kansas to Arizona.
They send more toys to stores that sell more and it has little to do with how, for example, a Mattel He-Man Sketchbook Series sold at the Sacramento Targets/Walmarts that the Ross in that area, is going to get X, Y, or Z sketchbook figure. Likewise, for an Ollie in Florida - which Black Series flood their pegs have nothing to do with which Black Series didn't sell at their local Walmarts and Targets in Orlando or Miami.

>You are acting like the product that shows up at say a Central Valley/Central California Ross (Fresno/Sacramento, etc.) is based on what product is not sold at a Walmart or a Target in those areas.
No I mean the same collectors or scalpers who comb the Targets and Walmarts and strip them bare will also be combing the Ross and Ollies and nothing good will remain for long.

I started seeing scalpers at my local Ross last Christmas. This super thin, smoke smelling asshole that would load up on things to sell.

I sometimes wonder if Hasbro sculptors are given like 6 hours to sculpt a figure and it must be done by in that limited time and that's why the sculpt jobs are so bad. Or if it's just lazy sculptors who could take longer but won't want to.

To be fair, my local Walmart refuses to carry new ML and won't until the evergreen MCU Caps, Spidey, and Iron Men sell out. Figures they refuse to discount due to management being a bunch of greedy k***s. And with GameStop out of business and my local comic shop refusing to carry ML after getting burnt over ordering Deadpool and AoA stuff, it's either Ollie's or online ordering if I want ML stuff

So I got my British Psylocke and Force Works USAgent from Amazon after much hassle.

BOTH had shitty paint (USAgent has bad speckles all over his face while Psylocke had a damaged box AND a huge section of her mask unpainted.

Got both of them separately and had to send both back separately. Amazon fucking dragged their feet, resulting in a half dozen calls and escalations before I got them to send me a new USAgent and they fucking cancelled my Psylocke rather than send me a new one. I ended up having to call and bitch them out, resulting in me getting a $30 credit so I could reorder it and I still had to pay $2 on taxes for the reorder.

British Psylocke is great. USAgent is decent but I do wish we could have gotten an unmasked head for John since he's not had one yet.
>>
>>11903011
There's nothing that can be done about that unless a retailer did the same thing Target did over the cards - and limited WHEN and how many you could purchase.
I appreciate that BBTS is kinda doing this - albeit in a very minimal fashion - but since no other major e-commerce site matches this, it ends up being mostly pointless.
>>
So Hasbro cancelled my 12 inch Apocalypse figure that has been on preorder for over a year, but when I go into my account it says I was the one that cancelled it. The fuck just happened?
>>
>>11903468
Really? Call and say something. They're starting to do charges for the figure, but you should have five days to pay for it at least.
>>
>>11903473
At this point i'm contemplating just letting it go since we might get a mafex or gamerverse one soon that will be more comic accurate. Still pisses me off.
>>
>>11903468
That's really weird and I'd be pissed in your position. Isn't there normally a two week cutoff date for cancellations with their MOTO stuff?
>>
>>11903485
Yeah there should have been no way to cancel it myself, and I didn't get any messages about a declined payment. My information is all up to date. I can only assume they miscounted how many they were supposed to have on hand. They gave a bunch away for free to toy reviewers, so who knows.

>>
>>11903519
Well, that bodes ill for me, since I didn't preorder one and was hoping to pick one up on release. You still shouldn't have lost out on yours though, that's garbage.
>>
>>11903339
They are getting really reckless and cheap. I think they know they have everyone's business guaranteed by now and so they can do whatever they want. I also order MLs from them, and at least 2 of my boxes have come damaged recently, one seemed like it had water damage. I'm leaning more towards other retail sources. They also seem to have gotten the latest figures late compared to other sources.
>>
>>11903350
Yeah I know there's nothing that can be done, that's why its pointless to go to Ross or Ollies if one's area is overloaded with other collectors or scalpers. Some people are just lucky and live in an area where few collect so they get the deals easier.
>>
>>11903555
I'm no longer chained to a 9-5 existence and have started collecting not so much to have THIS Spider-Man or that Superman, but to make customs. If you can get to a Ross when they stock (which can be morning to mid afternoon, and they will usually politely tell you), you can come across what you seek.
I missed out on the Agent Venom and mostly wanted the unmasked Flash Thompson head, weapons and tentacles bits but it wasn't hard to get that on eBay without paying scalper BS premiums. It's people who won't practice any self-control or patience that make it productive for some scalpers.
I'm fine if I don't end up with something.

Fine I guess. There aren't any real stinkers in there other than maybe Werewolf by Night but a werewolf figure is cool regardless so that makes up for it being an old repaint. Kind of a mishmoshmess of characters though, no real cohesion on what you're trying to do other than buy random MLs.

I'm sure I'm getting tons of this wrong, but can anyone tell me what the hell this spiderman toy is? Iirc it's a completely different character. From the 90s or 2000s, it had pretty limited articulation, and if I recall correctly the spider logo was a big 3d like actual spider wrapping around him, and he had fur on his legs and arms like black cat, that may all be inaccurate though. But the one thing that's completely accurate are his crazy fucking calves. They were split so intensely into two full muscles like hearts, ive never seen a figure like it.

Hasbro should loose the license for this
>>
>>11906551
Are you implying that this "2 pack" where the 2nd figure is a glorified accessory is new or something? Hasbro has been doing this for literal decades. They consider Baby fucking Yoda without any articulation points or fucking Porgs as whole figures. Stop blowing these things out of proportion and vote with your wallet by not buying it.
>>
>>11906586
I was never going to buy it in the first place, but there's enough lunatics out there who will for it to keep happening
>>
>>11906643
Again, you say this like it hasn't been happening already for over a decade. Go clutch your pearls somewhere else dude. This isn't new or anything to toss your cookies over.

No, I didn't preorder one and am hoping I'll be able be able to grab an extra at some point (though one anon had their order randomly cancelled, so that's looking less and less likely). He looks cool as fuck though.

brother there is a KO company that already made shf cyclops a darker blue, and venom is an extremely popular choice for KOs in general
it is going to happen
>>
>>11907480
He looks pretty good. Not sure it's worth the upgrade from the Retro carded one if you already have it, even at the larger size, but he certainly looks cool.

probably the never ending misinterpretation of "is he blue with black shading or black with blue highlights?" Like how Spidey 2099 was intended to be black with blue highlights but he eventually was officially made blue with black shading.

I checked leddit and i wasn't the only one. Doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. Just a handful of unlucky customers. Though I will think twice before ever ordering a mto release from Pulse again.
>>
>>11906784
I think the powers that be are at least somewhat aware that some things are sacred and not to be trifled with. They probably think they can do what they want with the rest of the X-Men IP as long as Rogue's either cute or sexy to placate the men of culture out there.

>>
>>11907286
Genuinely would be the perfect “mind’s eye” version of Venom for me. Too bad we’re this close to getting the perfect Venom.

The Mafex is a very specific early version of the character, with more traditional human proportions and a very specific mouth design. They could honestly do P2 colors for all the Gamerverse releases and they’d sell, I’m sure.
>>
If that MvC Venom goes up for preorder and sells out without me getting one I will be pissed.
