My discounted deluxe origins TF collab He-Man arrived in a bent card. I recycle those so don't care, but if someone does....
Also, they do full, free returns in case you do care. Just don't use anything other than 'not as described' as your return excuse.

Pretty much, none of his movies are funny and the guy looks like a child molester. MOTU is better off without him, and knowing how much he hates the series I'm glad he's seething over the movie's success.

Dogma has it's good moments. I almost went to see the anniversary screening release recently because it had some remastering and added/re-edited bits. But it wasn't really convenient and no one else was really interested, even in a young Matt or Ben or the rest of the cast.
NOW, Clerks and crap like that? Yeah, it is mostly unwatchable junk. I also have never read any of his comics and I even bought the collection of that one Superman mini-series Max Landis wrote, but that had a lot to do with some of the really great art.
>>

How would you rank your interest in each subline?
I suppose you can add the new BAF relaunch to the list if you care.

There's a bitchin' steelbook of the complete 200x series up on Amazon right now. Good to pair with those new Mondos.

Cartoon Collection largely lost me early on because I disliked the new bodies they went with. Filmation is more tolerable, but the 200X bucks still irk me. The movie line was nice enough but Core stole the show for me and ended up becoming my main focus this year. I look forward to buying Ram-Man, translucent skeletor, and whatever else releases next month. Sketchbook series on the other hand has been neat but I've not felt compelled to buy any of them. No feelings on PoG one way or the other, mostly because I know we're not getting the dinos so why even get worked up about it.
>>
>>11901495
I've only bought a bunch of the 200X Cartoon Collection and it will probably stay that way unless they reissue He-Man and Skeletor from the Filmation Cartoon Collection.
>>
>>11901374
I do regret not getting disco skeletor, but at these prices I have to prioritize other figures.
>>
>>11901446
>Clerks and crap like that? Yeah, it is mostly unwatchable junk
Nah clerks 1,2,3 and mall rats are all fantastic especially if you’re gen X or elder millennial. Jay and silent bob strike back is also the last true stoner comedy before we got into the extremely Jewish Seth rogan era dude weed shit.
Smith had no right touching Motu a property he never even mentioned before getting the job other than calling it gay.

Filmation cartoon collection is #1 for me. The designs are the most consistent with the character appearances from the 80's media like the london comics mag and newspaper strip which I'm currently reading and really enjoying. I hope they make more.
Origins does a good job being authentic to the original toys, but i only really get them for vehicles and playsets as the figures themselves often look off from the comics.
PoG I want to get into because of Megator and Tytus, but like >>11901499 said if we're not going to get them and the dinos then what's the point.
Sketch books is a nice concept, but I haven't deep dived yet and if I wanted live action I would go for chronicles so dont see the point of core.
200x is on my todo list after rewatching new adventures, so come back to me in a few months.
>>
>>11901381
why can't he just accept that nobody likes him and remove himself from society
>>
>>11901495
I have (as a new to the franchise fan) no aesthetic interest in the classic toy proportions, so the 200x is my limit of interest in the 5.5 line. Likewise, Sketchbook albeit I think the packaging and concept is great and did get one, because it came with a spare and different head, and was a great (discounted) price.
Power of Grayskull, probably same thing.
Core definitely, depending on character and price.

>>
>>11901633
about damn time
>>
>>11901641
not even close, but Mattel's weasel words would have you believe he's the last.
We still need the giants, the spinning top guys, and the movie figures. Two Bad is easily the last big name guy a lot of people are nostalgic for so they have to make him... I'm worried that poor sales might result in them shitting out the giants as BAFs or just not bothering at all with the tops.
>>
serious question- are their dicks fused together into one big dick, fused half and half, or are they both still seperate but constantly smooshed together? Or is it a transvestite situation where one had a vagina and now it's all fucked up?
>>
>>11901664
He's two headed in more ways than one.
>>

>We still need the giants
Weren't they Power of GraySkull like the dinos though? Not MOTU. The boxes just had the old branding because they were only released in Italy.
>the spinning top guys
Weren't they just a novelty gimmick like the meterorbs though? Not something with standard MOTU proportions.
>movie figures
I'll give you that, but who actually wants origins of Blade, Gwildor and Saurod?? Seriously. They didn't even do He-Gren and Skel-Gella.
I presume Two-Bad is it, which is probably by they are rebooting in 2027.

I prefer the 200x buck due to better poseability. They should keep that buck and add double hinged knees and elbows. The Origins buck is outdated and has the poseability of a lego figure. Ditch it!
>>

Doesn't matter. They released back in the 80s. They're vintage. Origins is something they said was doing ALL the vintage shit.

Went looking for the Mcguinness cover and found pic related. Nothing highlights how much matty dropped the ball with MOTU quite like looking back on the aughts, seeing all the original fans pouring themselves into fan art and customs, and classics selling like gold bullion.
>>
I regret not collecting this series sooner. I bet they're plenty affordable even now.
>>
I could have sworn this was one of Ed's pieces but I guess my memory fooled me. This is one of Santalucia's works. In anycase, should another MOTU × DC crossover be in the works, Ed would be a stellar choice for the job. Just let him put out a follow up to the 80's He-man and Superman team up issue. I bet he'd be able to design more than a few memorable mooks too. Just check out his hulked out heroes stuff. Speaking of Hulk, alot of those 90's and 2000's Hulk toys slide in perfectly alongside MOTU. People bemoan toybiz legends nowadays but those early Hulk classic figures in someways feel like better modernizations of the 5.5 MOTU figures than even classics did.

I own a LOT of DC Directs simply because they are the Ed McGuiness bucks from the era when Loeb had his long run on Superman Batman and they did those two action animated movies. I have a lot of Lex Luthor action figures in general but the only one I own in spares is that absurd McGuiness warsuit with the deranged head.
I don't really buy comics anymore in physical but I would buy a McGuiness drawn run and totally open the wallet for a genuinely true sketchbook series based on Ed's version of Eternia (not my picture).

>>
>>11901880

>>
>>11901769
You don't have to like them, but Rotar and Twistoid are real MotU figures.
They were sold on standard figure cards, with standard cross sell, Errol McCarthy card art, a minicomic and were counted by Classics toward vintage completion. (For comparison, Meteorbs had NONE of those things) They've got all the hallmarks, they're legitimate MotU figures
>>
>>11901871
The sculpts on those figures were impeccable. They really drove home just how much his artwork lends itself to merchandising. How the man's been a pro for this long and few if any have capitalized on his talents is beyond me, but it's what I've come to expect these days.

The cross sell is for the other Meteorbs not a regular cross sell for Heroic, Evil Warriors and Horde members like the Zoids had.

Not a minicomic that was packed with the toys

If YOU want to count them fine, but they are lesser than the Zoids in the hierarchy of figure legitimacy.

Which is why it's extremely unlikely we'll ever see Meteorbs again

But considering the whole gimmick of "things that turn into eggs" is still very much alive in Japan, you really could just buy one of the modern ones, I'm pretty sure at least some of them ought to resemble the MOTU ones
>>
>>11902174
I am the person buying stuff partially to hoard swords so I already was eyeing this for that, since something like the Super7 with his 3 swords is not going to fall in my lap for a few dollars.
I had seen the entire wave in May or so and ignored it just like I had seen a New Eternia Anti-Eternia and walked by to my regret because that would have saved me $10, or enough for this Panthor - which I passed on because no accessories.

The lack of tie in media and the half assed "Eternian" designs killed their potential. The 200X bucks didnt help things either. If I had to guess, it wont be the last time we see Thundercats in Origins, but it was a rocky first outing. If it happens again I'd really like more mutants and a return to the standard 5.5. body
>>
Movie Evil-Lyn's been revealed to come in a wave with the updated Skeletor with a new goblet accessory and Man At Arms in a new deco. I don't mind getting the new Skeletor just because I was one of the unlucky ones to get the initial version with the botched teeth and paler skin but the new deco for Duncan has me curious. Checking clips of the film, the new deco is somewhat closer to the intended base colors of the design with new silver paint on certain armor panels, but it also loses that worn/aged bronze look of the original release that the movie costume actually had. Ideally it should be a mix of both decos.
>>
>>11902188

>>
>>11902318
Her performance was more than adequate or 'fine' as most out it, but I just can't get into her expressions and I think I will wait till they re-release some Chronicle type figures as female like the upcoming sky sled, that aren't movie figures. I'm not even interested in the stunt woman that became a heroic warrior by the end of the film like some of you are.
I do want to see more Chronicles
>>

>>11902344
Oh damn, you're right. I know I said I looked at clips >>11902318 and yeah, the clean one is accurate to how it looked at the start and the end of the movie. But checking again, the worn look is actually more accurate to when he put the armor back on after being out of action for many years.

Now this makes me wish they'd make a Prince Adam and Teela from the end of the movie.

>lack of tie in media
I still don't know what the Thundercats are and, frankly, am too busy (plus don't want 'thundercat' videos added to my algorithm) to look them up, but I agree that they should work on this.
Now that they have a relationship with DC again and given that DC was so easily willing to whore themselves out to Subway and KFC for tie-in comics, some digital first or free comic book day
And even if Dynamite had/has the Thundercat license, they don't for He-Man and DC has worked with Dynamite before, for the Six Million Dollar Man and Elvira and I'm sure a few others.

>the half assed "Eternian" designs
I don't know is 'half-assed' is the right way to put it, but making April every Eternia female and making every Skeletor variant Shredder wasn't any full-assed form of creativity.
Plus these also were at Ross, and on clearance at Walmart and I'm pretty sure some are still on holiday sale from last year's winter clearance at BBTS (and likely elsewhere?)

>I still don't know what the Thundercats are and, frankly, am too busy
It baffles me how widespread a claim that is and how little warner's done to keep the property alive in the public consciousness otherwise. He-man atleast got a revival once a decade. Maybe they didnt pan out, but they still happened. Outside of wildstorm comics and the two 2010's reboots, Warner did squat with the Thundercats for 20 years. What they then did going into the 2010's just divided the audience and soured oldfags and rebootfags alike. The insult to injury now is refusing to pop the series on youtube, tubi, or metv toons because of how much they internally value it. They do this with the DCAU now too. Fucking bizarre thinking all around. I hear the new dynamite thundercats books are quite good aswell. Maybe now that darkhorse is dead, dynamite can pick up motu on the rebound and make some magic happen? I'm still surprised there was never a Thundarr and Thundercats crossover, since they're owned by the same people.
>>
>>11902838
MeTV has Superfriends and the LOSH cartoon. Tubi and Netflix will both pay more money for the DCAU and I guess Prime will now that they agreed to pay for that Little Batman crap. Tubi is Amazon but they contract it out separately.
WB is getting savier at this - getting global streaming via Netflix for Smallville is great for Superman and DC fans.
That >>11902364 opening just made me think of furrys but that's probably my brain being warped from a decade on /co and people's fetishes there, because I never knew what some things were until then, and I am someone who has lived in every big city from Miami, to SF, to Atlanta and Chicago, with plenty of visits to say New Orleans over Mardi Gras so things don't shock me, but I still think I preferred my life without knowing what cat boys/cat girls or puppy play were.
>>
>>11902838
Not that anon, but I didn't know Thundercats existed until I saw reruns of it in the early 2000s and by then, I was already big on He-Man so I pretty much understood what it was.

>>11902854
Yeah your brain's probably fried from /co/ and I don't mean that as a slight. For a bit of perspective Thundercats being cat-themed wasn't anymore different than TMNT or other animal-themed show. Throw in a bit of 80s cheese of sci-fantasy sword and sorcery not unlike He-Man and that's basically Thundercats.

Several sites wrote it was April as Teela. I think on one TMNT site, even. All I know is, once I paint the armor, it will make an interesting shield, and I want the big sword.
It looks like it's almost as big at the figure is, so guessing 5" - and wide.

It probably helped that I would come home from all night parties and drink coffee with my roommate and his girlfriend on Saturday mornings while all still a bit drunk and high and the girlfriend incessant giggling at every "Teenage" and "Mutant" just made that whole concept seem fully absurd, THAT's also probably why I can't into turtles or the toys.

But anon we have cat girls here too

Well, that 2020 CN reboot that looks like a bad Steven Universe rip-off probably did Thundercats no favor. Also, per IMDb, legally streaming any of these mostly involves paying or having Hulu; it's probably a situation that someone sold this on a long-term basis to Hulu and as long as Hulu re-ups, they have the North American rights.
I don't see how you are going to make it more popular THAT way. I watched the first 10-15 minutes of the pilot/premiere episode of the 2011 series and already it feels EXCEEDINGLY derivative of He-Man, except either Tigra or the General who's not Panthro will turn heel and be a villain and the Not-Teela female warrior is just boring as fuck.
I'm actually very much in favor of Strong Female Characters and I appreciate that 10-15 minutes isn't enough, but the kids who played the musical instruments during the 'banquet' celebration felt more charismatic and felt more developed as characters than she did with longer screen time and dialogue.
I like the character designs and the animation is better than the Netflix reboot so I will try to catch a few more episodes, but I'm not getting into another toy line.
I do like the 2011 toy sword, even if it's entire characterization is very "Sword of Power" coded. If I were Mattel, I would have SUED their pants off.

>catgirls freak him out
Does that term mean something different now or are you really so vanilla that a girl with cat ears is somehow too degenerate for you?

She is like a missing link between those flesh colored Disney Afternoon furry gilrs and full on furries.
