Any thoughts?
>>11899280My discounted deluxe origins TF collab He-Man arrived in a bent card. I recycle those so don't care, but if someone does....Also, they do full, free returns in case you do care. Just don't use anything other than 'not as described' as your return excuse.
>>11901381Shite
>>11901381>thoughts?Kevin Smith is a hack and ignored She-Ra
>>11901418Pretty much, none of his movies are funny and the guy looks like a child molester. MOTU is better off without him, and knowing how much he hates the series I'm glad he's seething over the movie's success.
>>11901381So basically the show got canned
>>11901421Dogma has it's good moments. I almost went to see the anniversary screening release recently because it had some remastering and added/re-edited bits. But it wasn't really convenient and no one else was really interested, even in a young Matt or Ben or the rest of the cast. NOW, Clerks and crap like that? Yeah, it is mostly unwatchable junk. I also have never read any of his comics and I even bought the collection of that one Superman mini-series Max Landis wrote, but that had a lot to do with some of the really great art.
>>11901381Just let it die
How would you rank your interest in each subline?I suppose you can add the new BAF relaunch to the list if you care.
There's a bitchin' steelbook of the complete 200x series up on Amazon right now. Good to pair with those new Mondos.
>>11901381Can we please just bury that dogshit continuity? I genuinely have more love for the youtube animated shorts than I do any of the netflix stuff. CGI being the sole exemption.
>>11901421>>11901446Reminder Smith is a cuckold and "his" daughter was fathered by Jason Mewes
>>11901495Cartoon Collection largely lost me early on because I disliked the new bodies they went with. Filmation is more tolerable, but the 200X bucks still irk me. The movie line was nice enough but Core stole the show for me and ended up becoming my main focus this year. I look forward to buying Ram-Man, translucent skeletor, and whatever else releases next month. Sketchbook series on the other hand has been neat but I've not felt compelled to buy any of them. No feelings on PoG one way or the other, mostly because I know we're not getting the dinos so why even get worked up about it.
>>11901495I've only bought a bunch of the 200X Cartoon Collection and it will probably stay that way unless they reissue He-Man and Skeletor from the Filmation Cartoon Collection.
>>11901374I do regret not getting disco skeletor, but at these prices I have to prioritize other figures.
>>11901446>Clerks and crap like that? Yeah, it is mostly unwatchable junkNah clerks 1,2,3 and mall rats are all fantastic especially if you’re gen X or elder millennial. Jay and silent bob strike back is also the last true stoner comedy before we got into the extremely Jewish Seth rogan era dude weed shit. Smith had no right touching Motu a property he never even mentioned before getting the job other than calling it gay.
>>11901510Yeah I hemmed and hawwed all day until it sold out. Wanted it but didn't NEED it.
>>11901128
>>11901495Filmation cartoon collection is #1 for me. The designs are the most consistent with the character appearances from the 80's media like the london comics mag and newspaper strip which I'm currently reading and really enjoying. I hope they make more.Origins does a good job being authentic to the original toys, but i only really get them for vehicles and playsets as the figures themselves often look off from the comics.PoG I want to get into because of Megator and Tytus, but like >>11901499 said if we're not going to get them and the dinos then what's the point.Sketch books is a nice concept, but I haven't deep dived yet and if I wanted live action I would go for chronicles so dont see the point of core.200x is on my todo list after rewatching new adventures, so come back to me in a few months.
>>11901381why can't he just accept that nobody likes him and remove himself from society
>>11901495I have (as a new to the franchise fan) no aesthetic interest in the classic toy proportions, so the 200x is my limit of interest in the 5.5 line. Likewise, Sketchbook albeit I think the packaging and concept is great and did get one, because it came with a spare and different head, and was a great (discounted) price.Power of Grayskull, probably same thing. Core definitely, depending on character and price.
>>11901519I'm 40. All of Kevin Smith's shit is overrated except Clerks 1
>>11901591I never said they weren’t overrated
>>11901565Aside from the hemans hair his style fits Motu perfectly
>>11901633>>11901636So does this leave laser light skeletor as the last vintage motu figure to need an origins?
>>11901633about damn time
>>11901641not even close, but Mattel's weasel words would have you believe he's the last.We still need the giants, the spinning top guys, and the movie figures. Two Bad is easily the last big name guy a lot of people are nostalgic for so they have to make him... I'm worried that poor sales might result in them shitting out the giants as BAFs or just not bothering at all with the tops.
serious question- are their dicks fused together into one big dick, fused half and half, or are they both still seperate but constantly smooshed together? Or is it a transvestite situation where one had a vagina and now it's all fucked up?
>>11901664He's two headed in more ways than one.
>>11901636Are his shoulders a swivel (no ball joint)? It looks like there is a ball joint at the elbows at least?
>>11901665
>>11901658>We still need the giantsWeren't they Power of GraySkull like the dinos though? Not MOTU. The boxes just had the old branding because they were only released in Italy.>the spinning top guysWeren't they just a novelty gimmick like the meterorbs though? Not something with standard MOTU proportions.>movie figuresI'll give you that, but who actually wants origins of Blade, Gwildor and Saurod?? Seriously. They didn't even do He-Gren and Skel-Gella.I presume Two-Bad is it, which is probably by they are rebooting in 2027.
>>11901374Best Skeletor
>>11901694Hey man, Blade is kind of cool and Sauarod hates snakes.
>>11901499>>11901495I prefer the 200x buck due to better poseability. They should keep that buck and add double hinged knees and elbows. The Origins buck is outdated and has the poseability of a lego figure. Ditch it!
>>11901694Doesn't matter. They released back in the 80s. They're vintage. Origins is something they said was doing ALL the vintage shit.
>>11901767But if you read my post, I specifically asked if it was the last of the motu stuff, not pog or fidget toys.We definitely need more the vehicles though. Where is my Bashasaurus!
>>11901565Went looking for the Mcguinness cover and found pic related. Nothing highlights how much matty dropped the ball with MOTU quite like looking back on the aughts, seeing all the original fans pouring themselves into fan art and customs, and classics selling like gold bullion.
I regret not collecting this series sooner. I bet they're plenty affordable even now.
I could have sworn this was one of Ed's pieces but I guess my memory fooled me. This is one of Santalucia's works. In anycase, should another MOTU × DC crossover be in the works, Ed would be a stellar choice for the job. Just let him put out a follow up to the 80's He-man and Superman team up issue. I bet he'd be able to design more than a few memorable mooks too. Just check out his hulked out heroes stuff. Speaking of Hulk, alot of those 90's and 2000's Hulk toys slide in perfectly alongside MOTU. People bemoan toybiz legends nowadays but those early Hulk classic figures in someways feel like better modernizations of the 5.5 MOTU figures than even classics did.
>>11901374>two bad was announced for sept 23>they release him early without my knowledge and two bad ended up selling outI AM FUCKING DONE WITH THIS SHIT HOBBY THATS IT IVE HAD ITIVE WAITED SEVERAL YEARS FOR HIM JUST TO BE INSULTED LIKE THIS, IM FUCKING DONE WITH THIS SHIT HOBBY THATS THE LAST FUCKING STRAW
>>11901783?It hasn't gone up for sale yet
>>11901820I just realized that. Im retarded sorry
>>11901841It's okay. Your reaction was justified...we've all been fucked over by Mattel time and time again.
>>11901783So, something similar happened to me with Stonedar. (I was just lazy and kept putting it off) and he just went up on BBTS for some reason. You still have a possible chance months later for him to show up there.
>>11901841Oops I didn't read the part where you were retarded lol>>11901856
>>11901629>>11901777I own a LOT of DC Directs simply because they are the Ed McGuiness bucks from the era when Loeb had his long run on Superman Batman and they did those two action animated movies. I have a lot of Lex Luthor action figures in general but the only one I own in spares is that absurd McGuiness warsuit with the deranged head. I don't really buy comics anymore in physical but I would buy a McGuiness drawn run and totally open the wallet for a genuinely true sketchbook series based on Ed's version of Eternia (not my picture).
>twobads shoulders only swivel up and downwhat the fuck?
>>11901874I can only assume he still has his gimmick? Weird after getting rid of them for so long
>>11901878That's now how his gimmick works though, they would swivel at an angle to punch a head. This swivels up and down like a lego figure.
>>11901880wouldn’t be the first they changed for the worse
>>11901769You don't have to like them, but Rotar and Twistoid are real MotU figures. They were sold on standard figure cards, with standard cross sell, Errol McCarthy card art, a minicomic and were counted by Classics toward vintage completion. (For comparison, Meteorbs had NONE of those things) They've got all the hallmarks, they're legitimate MotU figures
>>11901871The sculpts on those figures were impeccable. They really drove home just how much his artwork lends itself to merchandising. How the man's been a pro for this long and few if any have capitalized on his talents is beyond me, but it's what I've come to expect these days.
Does anyone know the name of the guy working on the new Chronicle figures? He's an comic book guy too right?
>>11901978Bart Sears.
>>11901978Bert Sampson
>>11901989>Bart Sears. So he'll be doing/did the future mini-comics that are original, like the one that just came in the Lion-O figure I grabbed today?
>>11901889You have to count the meterobs then.
>>11901889
>>11901889Even in filmation
>>11901844Thanks for understanding. Also fuck scott eternally
>>11902129Not an Errol McCarthy battle scene, just a logoThe cross sell is for the other Meteorbs not a regular cross sell for Heroic, Evil Warriors and Horde members like the Zoids had. >>11902131Not a minicomic that was packed with the toysIf YOU want to count them fine, but they are lesser than the Zoids in the hierarchy of figure legitimacy. The Zoids were also in house Mattel Creations where the Meteorbs were licensed tamagora from Bandai
I went to return some plastic crack to Ross but walked out with this.
>>11902172I saw the whole damn wave at mine. They were cheap enough to be tempting finally. I held off though. Kinda sad how fast that line flopped so fast and hard compared to Turtles.
>>11902165>the Meteorbs were licensed tamagora from BandaiWhich is why it's extremely unlikely we'll ever see Meteorbs againBut considering the whole gimmick of "things that turn into eggs" is still very much alive in Japan, you really could just buy one of the modern ones, I'm pretty sure at least some of them ought to resemble the MOTU ones
>>11902174I am the person buying stuff partially to hoard swords so I already was eyeing this for that, since something like the Super7 with his 3 swords is not going to fall in my lap for a few dollars. I had seen the entire wave in May or so and ignored it just like I had seen a New Eternia Anti-Eternia and walked by to my regret because that would have saved me $10, or enough for this Panthor - which I passed on because no accessories.
>>11901498I cannot imagine how ashamed """his""" daughter must feel to be named after a capeshit thot.>>11901446Dogma was trash and perfectly encapsulates how christians trying to be cool is insufferably cringe. It was also the canary in the coal mine for his fdom fetish that metastasized in Revelations.
>>11902174The lack of tie in media and the half assed "Eternian" designs killed their potential. The 200X bucks didnt help things either. If I had to guess, it wont be the last time we see Thundercats in Origins, but it was a rocky first outing. If it happens again I'd really like more mutants and a return to the standard 5.5. body
Movie Evil-Lyn's been revealed to come in a wave with the updated Skeletor with a new goblet accessory and Man At Arms in a new deco. I don't mind getting the new Skeletor just because I was one of the unlucky ones to get the initial version with the botched teeth and paler skin but the new deco for Duncan has me curious. Checking clips of the film, the new deco is somewhat closer to the intended base colors of the design with new silver paint on certain armor panels, but it also loses that worn/aged bronze look of the original release that the movie costume actually had. Ideally it should be a mix of both decos.
>>11902188I did get Panthor-Man on clearance at Walmart.
>>11902318Her performance was more than adequate or 'fine' as most out it, but I just can't get into her expressions and I think I will wait till they re-release some Chronicle type figures as female like the upcoming sky sled, that aren't movie figures. I'm not even interested in the stunt woman that became a heroic warrior by the end of the film like some of you are.I do want to see more Chronicles
>>11902318Are stores even stocking these anymore?
>>11902318It looks accurate to how his armor look at the start and end of the movie.
>>11902344Oh damn, you're right. I know I said I looked at clips >>11902318 and yeah, the clean one is accurate to how it looked at the start and the end of the movie. But checking again, the worn look is actually more accurate to when he put the armor back on after being out of action for many years. Now this makes me wish they'd make a Prince Adam and Teela from the end of the movie.
>>11902201>lack of tie in mediaI still don't know what the Thundercats are and, frankly, am too busy (plus don't want 'thundercat' videos added to my algorithm) to look them up, but I agree that they should work on this. Now that they have a relationship with DC again and given that DC was so easily willing to whore themselves out to Subway and KFC for tie-in comics, some digital first or free comic book day And even if Dynamite had/has the Thundercat license, they don't for He-Man and DC has worked with Dynamite before, for the Six Million Dollar Man and Elvira and I'm sure a few others. >the half assed "Eternian" designsI don't know is 'half-assed' is the right way to put it, but making April every Eternia female and making every Skeletor variant Shredder wasn't any full-assed form of creativity.Plus these also were at Ross, and on clearance at Walmart and I'm pretty sure some are still on holiday sale from last year's winter clearance at BBTS (and likely elsewhere?)>>11902341Don't have Walmart's near me, but even Origins are showing up at smaller (drug store sized) Targets in my area. All the big box stores should have plenty of toy options between now and January.
>>11902350The openings all you needhttps://youtu.be/HcGNqrAtsgg-
>>11902129I know Pixel Dan actually counts the meteorbs. I personally don't really care cause I got into it way later in time but I had meteorbs as kid as some of my only MotU toys ever so I love them.>>11902175They actually show up in the Minicomics for Origins Stonedar recently.
Holy shit why us Aliexpress'search engine so bad now. They used to sell bootleg cheap tamagoras now I can't even fucking get it to come up.

>>11902368>>11902375it's the most annoying sitethey keep sending me emails that I have messages and then when you click on those, it takes you straight to shopping and is a hassle to find messages that are mostly garbage

They should have made the halloween guys Meteorbs for Hordak. Look at this fucking guy.
>No Origins figure>No Masterverse figure>No Revelation appearance>No Movie appearanceHow are Saurod fans feeling? Knowing that Blade, flpping Karg, goddamn Gwildor and even motherfucking Pigboy are doing somehow better?
>>11902405No sparking gimmick no buy, so I'm not too fussed.
>>11902405Which is weird, I'd think Saurod the most 'toyetic' looking of the bunch. He was really pathetic in the movie though, so maybe that's why he's not gotten a fair shake, and he also probably fits better in New Adventures than anywhere else.
>>11902389Yep. If I can't get that light up Super7 version with his three swords at a steep mark-down, this will have to suffice.Just got my first MOTU related Mattel e-blast and saw many of the x Thundercat batch on sale, I hope I see some on my next trip to the Mattel shop in El Segundo.
>>11902318Is this 100% the same figure as the first wave but with that chalice? Same hands? Hard to tell.
All this talk is reminding me that I thought they might do a three pack now for orgins, but heck they should do a 87 4 Pack. Do the three vintage and a Karg, next year is an anniversary too.
While searching for the best site to grab some missing Masterverse, saw that some third party scalper is trying to sell the Chronicles King Hiss for $75 on the Walmart marketplace.
>>11902784But he's not even out of stock... Man I hate scalpers.
>>11902739It's identical but I like to think they did this to make it easier to get the updated version with fixed QC by including the chalice.
>>11902350>I still don't know what the Thundercats are and, frankly, am too busyIt baffles me how widespread a claim that is and how little warner's done to keep the property alive in the public consciousness otherwise. He-man atleast got a revival once a decade. Maybe they didnt pan out, but they still happened. Outside of wildstorm comics and the two 2010's reboots, Warner did squat with the Thundercats for 20 years. What they then did going into the 2010's just divided the audience and soured oldfags and rebootfags alike. The insult to injury now is refusing to pop the series on youtube, tubi, or metv toons because of how much they internally value it. They do this with the DCAU now too. Fucking bizarre thinking all around. I hear the new dynamite thundercats books are quite good aswell. Maybe now that darkhorse is dead, dynamite can pick up motu on the rebound and make some magic happen? I'm still surprised there was never a Thundarr and Thundercats crossover, since they're owned by the same people.
>>11902838MeTV has Superfriends and the LOSH cartoon. Tubi and Netflix will both pay more money for the DCAU and I guess Prime will now that they agreed to pay for that Little Batman crap. Tubi is Amazon but they contract it out separately. WB is getting savier at this - getting global streaming via Netflix for Smallville is great for Superman and DC fans. That >>11902364 opening just made me think of furrys but that's probably my brain being warped from a decade on /co and people's fetishes there, because I never knew what some things were until then, and I am someone who has lived in every big city from Miami, to SF, to Atlanta and Chicago, with plenty of visits to say New Orleans over Mardi Gras so things don't shock me, but I still think I preferred my life without knowing what cat boys/cat girls or puppy play were.
>>11902838Not that anon, but I didn't know Thundercats existed until I saw reruns of it in the early 2000s and by then, I was already big on He-Man so I pretty much understood what it was.>>11902854Yeah your brain's probably fried from /co/ and I don't mean that as a slight. For a bit of perspective Thundercats being cat-themed wasn't anymore different than TMNT or other animal-themed show. Throw in a bit of 80s cheese of sci-fantasy sword and sorcery not unlike He-Man and that's basically Thundercats.
>>11902350That's Teela in turtle-themed armor and April in Sorceress-inspired armor.
So apparently the core version 2 translucent skeletor is showing up on ebay already. What stores is he showing up at?
>>11902948Amazon preorder
>>11902973Amazon sucks
whycome they ain't made cc kobra khan yet? he cool
>>11902903Several sites wrote it was April as Teela. I think on one TMNT site, even. All I know is, once I paint the armor, it will make an interesting shield, and I want the big sword. It looks like it's almost as big at the figure is, so guessing 5" - and wide.>>11902875>wasn't anymore different than TMNTIt probably helped that I would come home from all night parties and drink coffee with my roommate and his girlfriend on Saturday mornings while all still a bit drunk and high and the girlfriend incessant giggling at every "Teenage" and "Mutant" just made that whole concept seem fully absurd, THAT's also probably why I can't into turtles or the toys.
>>11902854But anon we have cat girls here too
Well, that 2020 CN reboot that looks like a bad Steven Universe rip-off probably did Thundercats no favor. Also, per IMDb, legally streaming any of these mostly involves paying or having Hulu; it's probably a situation that someone sold this on a long-term basis to Hulu and as long as Hulu re-ups, they have the North American rights.I don't see how you are going to make it more popular THAT way. I watched the first 10-15 minutes of the pilot/premiere episode of the 2011 series and already it feels EXCEEDINGLY derivative of He-Man, except either Tigra or the General who's not Panthro will turn heel and be a villain and the Not-Teela female warrior is just boring as fuck. I'm actually very much in favor of Strong Female Characters and I appreciate that 10-15 minutes isn't enough, but the kids who played the musical instruments during the 'banquet' celebration felt more charismatic and felt more developed as characters than she did with longer screen time and dialogue. I like the character designs and the animation is better than the Netflix reboot so I will try to catch a few more episodes, but I'm not getting into another toy line.I do like the 2011 toy sword, even if it's entire characterization is very "Sword of Power" coded. If I were Mattel, I would have SUED their pants off.
Mattel is offering the SDCC packaged Power Sword for pre-order. $50 USD>https://creations.mattel.com/en-jp/products/masters-of-the-universe-power-of-grayskull-power-sword-role-jvg05
>>11902854>catgirls freak him outDoes that term mean something different now or are you really so vanilla that a girl with cat ears is somehow too degenerate for you?>>11902988She is like a missing link between those flesh colored Disney Afternoon furry gilrs and full on furries.
>>11902973Whys everything a fucking preorder now?
How have the vintage vehicles held up over time? I really want some of them to go with my. Ordered an old battle ram for $20.
>>11903001The original series was Planet of the Apes meets MotU. They were aliens who came to post apocalyptic Earth after their planet was destroyed. The trip aged up Lion-O's body due to a faulty stasis pod.
>>11902854>I still think I preferred my life without knowing what cat boys/cat girls or puppy play were.Amen brother.>>11902988Not exactly a core character tho
>>11903115I thrifted a Battle Ram a few months ago. I thought it was a bootleg toy when I first saw it, but then I realized that I was seeing it through grown-up eyes.
>>11903147Yeah, I just ate lunch while getting ready to run some errands and have watched most of the first episode of the 1980s series, it's tonally and otherwise different than Filmation MOTU and I actually think does a better job of setting up things from what I know. Although, I think I would rather Mum-Ra be introduced by now. I'll keep PotA in mind, since that actually is my childhood wheelhouse and I never saw any of these when growing up. I'm a classic Loony Toons and Moose & Squirrel, Jetson, Flintstones kid. The closes to an action cartoon I got to see in my heavily Mormon state was probably Rocky and Bullwinkle, which was on the syndicated UHF station and only played once a week. >>11903051Someone with cat ears or a tail doesn't 'freak" me out.Fetish furry play stuff puts me off would be a better way of putting it, in the same way I have no real interest in say Western themed comic books, or the extensive military themed BD albums on WWI or WWII. I had to force myself to sit through Dunkirk, for example.
Will this head peg on a core or current 200x body. I'm going to bid on a lot of MOTU and the seller also has this by itself so I could at least save on postageBut I don't want to spend even $7-8 if I won't at least get to use the head.
>>11901381I love comics and I get why they're so oftenly used as continuations when budget isn't an issue but man am I not fond of most cases since they're as disposable as disposable getsTangentially kind of reminds me of that question a while back if MotU would've had a longer lasting series in the early 2010's had it not have to live up to DC's sales standards
>>11903163>Fetish furry play stuff puts me offYou're missing out
>>11902948>black accents in place of purplesThe variants in core have no right being so fucking cool. Every single one of them mog the shit out of their standard release counterparts
>>11903001It wasnt bad enough to stave off threats of a live action film unfortunately. Far as I can tell you're right on the money with the streaming matter, but Weigel/MeTV Toons themselves have noted the DCAU Batman series and Thundercats were off the table because Warner wanted way too much for them. It's really a shame. As for the 2011 series, I can only speak for what I remember of it, and it started out on a good foot. The visuals are neat, the redesigns were cool, the fights are even better, but eventually it starts to drag. Anons on /co/ told me it eventually succumbs to love triangle horseshit unfortunately. I had the toys back in the day and I regret selling them off now. Even with the unpainted pins they were quite fun. They're not essential to a Thundercats collection but you wont regret owning them. Worth noting, they never finished the 2011 cast either.>>11902875Well that's reassuring >>11902854Warner was likely more willing to give those up because of their age and relative success compared to BTAS. LoSH sort of died on the vine during the twilight years of Kid's WB. Superfriends on the other hand is over 50 years old now and modern DC resents any trace of silliness in their pantheon's history. Smallville heading to netflix was nice but I'd rather it be on tubi. For now we only have the two Justice League series alongside TT03, GLTAS, and a handful of other big name DC toons. All but BTAS, BB, TNBA, and Thundercats unfortunately. Cant complain too much. Anyways go watch Thundarr, BATB, and Swamp Thing TAS while they're still on offer!
>>11903184If I had to guess I'd say no. 200X figures had neck joints more comparable to DCUC releases than origins.
>>11903352I have seen all the DC stuff. I even saw all that LOSH cartoon. I've even seen the DC Nation animated shorts. I noticed Thundarr when I was looking to see if any Thundercats was on Tubi - so I will check it out when I get bored with Thundercats I really wish Roku would provide content I might, and others, might be interested in.
>>11903354Okay thanks. Saves me $10. I wouldn't mind some of those swords and axes but everyone is asking insane prices for old accessories. Someone sold a lot of 16 MVs plus Battlecat and a broken mostly incomplete MV Mossman for $80 which included about 30% of their accessories, of the figures that had 'em. So I am not paying $30-40 for like 8 axes and swords just because someone types 'vintage' in their listing.
>>11901641>the last vintage motu figure to need an origins?I mean we've gotten most of the characters, playsets, and vehicles, with two notable exceptions.
>>11903401There's a whole bunch of vehicles we haven't gotten. Laser Bolt, Fright Fighter, Battle Ram, Dragon Walker...
>>11903361There's alot of DC stuff they "have" but havent made availible yet for whatever reason. The Plastic Man cartoon and the John Shipp Flash series being a few notable examples. Really cant recommend Thundarr enough, it is Jack Kirby's He-man for the most part. Post-Apocalyptic Conan with a lightsaber, his buddy chewbacca, and his blasian (?) scientist-historian-sorceror GF. It's good shit, but like the HB heroes and Thundercats, Warner's done squat with the guy for decades. >I really wish Roku would provide content I might, and others, might be interested in.Baffling that there isnt a CN livestream channel on any of these services. Just put up all the classic titles. Nickelodeon's been doing this for a decade now atleast.More related to the thread, I recently recognized why I liked the old toybiz/hasbro hulks. All of these guys are basically built on roided up MOTU bucks.
>>11903342>Every single one of them mog the shit out of their standard release counterpartsBecause theyre designed by actual toy designers who favor cool factor over screen accuracy
Got a lavafall for snake mountain today.Did the other anon who bought snake mountain get there's?>>11903415I think im going to get the vintage versions of a lot of these i think. I especially want a bashasaurus.
>>11903496I just regret I didn't get a red hulk head to go with the regular "big green" option when getting (for a song) was an option
>>11903535>Did the other anon who bought snake mountain get there's?I think I'm gonna wait to see mattel's take on it. I went a little overboard on motu this summer and I'm trying to take it easy. Especially since my kid, who I plan on playing with all this stuff with, is still just two.I have been looking at the motu little people figures lately, though.
>>11903401I made an attempt
>>11903615>but dino>not purple
>>11903615that crossover is better than the one mattel did
>>11903620collabs almost always suck ass from my experience
>>11903184I bought one just for the sword, and it does not. The head is already pegged, and the skin color isnt even a match
>>11903001I still have Mumm-ra and the actually hot Cheetarah. I also remember the show being a fine equivalent to 200x, with both being better than the She-ra and He-man netflixes
>>11901774The original 200x figures? Those all sucked for being 5poa shit with Marvel Legends sculpting. Cartoon Collection is only a slight improvement, but i really wanted Mastervers 200x
My Snake Lair has shipped. I have no idea where I'm going to put it. I might sell it, I was really in for the glorious Snorse.
>>11901641The vintage movie figs are the last US figures that need updating along with the twistdroids. Laser Skeletor was already teased. The Giants and Dinos were never part of the US releases so it's a toss up on wether Mattel will do them in Origins.
>>11902350 This whole ignorance of the Thundercats baffles me. I wish the reboot had gotten more traction It made some mistakes but it created a more realistic vrs toy-lystic world. I thought Lion-o was iconic. Hated Snarf - always hated Snarf.
>>11902838>Thundarr Talk about your squandered properties. They could go live action, animated - yet there is nothing. They could make a published Pen and Paper RPG or game. I no something like a MMORPG could never happen but Goddamn the image in my head is great.
>>11903674Laser He-Man and Skeletor were released in UK?
>>11903674The dinossaurs got released in america though
>>11903635I mean the 200X comics. I dont mind the toys though. The sculpts are nice.
>>11903630Sucks bigly. I will keep an eye out for just the swords.
>>11903679Isn't the premise of Thundarr that in the late 90s a comet tears the ozone off the Earth and then thousands of years late mutants, magic, and super-advanced tech exists as a result of the cataclysm?
>>11903628anon what could that possibly have to do with toy companies making shit collab merchandise
>>11903679I'd like origins figures of these and Blackstar.
second attempt
>>11903688Maybe I was thinking of the giants.
>>11903797PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE
>>11903746>I'd like origins figures of these and Blackstar.Seems too based for modern Mattel, enjoy your Sunman figures.
>>11903936I did like Sunman, but it felt a little lacking with how they handled it. Some new Sunman OC stuff would have been nice. At the very least they could have given us a villain.Regardless, yeah I would love Thundarr and Blackstar collabs with MotU one day.
Can someone with both movie man at arms and Fisto do a head swap
>>11904042no I don’t buy movieshit
>>11903632>Mumm-raHave the Super7 Vintage Mumm Ra from a clearance (maybe $5-8 at Target last year?), as just as a cool-looking toy, same way I grabbed the Moose Netflix long-limed Lauffy for $5 THIS summer. But have seen these vintage Thundercats at Ross for the absurd $14.99, so passed on them. And never got around to opening Mumm Ra and when I changed my mind on the Shadow Weaver, decided to list these both on ebay, cheaply, I thought, for unpunched retro cards.Shadow Weaver sold to some guy in Argentina but Mumm Ra I haven't been able to unload it but am not sure I want to keep it based on the video reviews where almost every single one can't get this to stand by itself and two of them broke his double bladed weapon just trying to stick it in his hand.>>11903675Snarf is totally hateable. His tag line is annoying.I'm sure the same people who loved ALF then and love him today were all over Snarf.I finally saw the first episode of the old cartoon and it actually makes a better story and plot but I think I prefer the visuals and redesign of the modern reboot so I'll stick to that.
>>11904068Snarf is at least a lot more relatable rewatching as an adult when you realize what a constant little shit lion-o is.
>>11903666I would buy that for between $12-18 but I just picker up this Mattel BAF for $14, including sales tax, just because I thought he would match up well with the SkeleGod I was sold for $7. I need weapons for him, big ones, because he sold without the flaming swords for his BAF. You can still buy those but that's a DCEU movie toy 9 don't need and especially don't $20+ want. So if anyone has weapons suggestions....
>>11903874yes it's a very nice color
>>11904113Honestlt the DCUC Ares would blend in with MOTU just as well as his DCEU counterpart
Somebody give me a qrd on Sun Man. Like I know the backstory about the line's creation and all that jazz, but why does he have a giant yellow butterfly collar? Is it supposed to be a cape or some shit?
>>11904251I think those should be wings.Honestly probably look better upside down. But hey, you can give them to Pig-Head and mke flying pigs jokes.
>>11904138I like a lot about him but most people want an arm and a leg for him. I did get the NECA D&D Strongheart which will look very similar to this Ares, which was also overpriced but I had a free gift card from Target and they had it at the same price as a Legends (or Chronicles). OTOH, I got this GOT figure (and a few others) at about an average of $8 each, including their swords.I didn't know Funko had made actual action figures before they bought Mondo but apparently, neither line sold well. Their face print sucks which probably didn't help for the normies and casuals who wanted true to life replicas of some of the actors.
>>11904138That was my first Mattel DCUC figure. I think I still have it too...
>>11901633What a piece of shit. Why not simply reissue the vintage at this point?
>want some retro looking space ships
>>11904327Feel free to explain what's wrong with it.
Heman is back up for preorder on mondo if you need him
>>11904251Phoenix wings. His boots have xray vision too yes you heard me. I found the minicomic again but I cant dump it because you have to make an account here and I don't have one. https://www.reddit.com/r/MastersOfTheUniverse/comments/uu3r4o/original_rulers_of_the_sun_mini_comic/
Mattel has a 20% off sale on their website.
>>11904497will Cubeman ever see the light of day in live action
They should really do toys for this show. Vintage style to have a cheap price point.
>>11904433Clawful is art
>>11904433>>11904611He must be HUGE! Chronicles Trapjaw is like 7 inches tall.
>>11904608You shopped MAA back to classic?
>>11904647MAA is white.
>>11904507Thank you
>>11904378The entire torso, fellow superfan. This is the Origins version of Classics Rio Blast.
>>11904608I've really enjoyed it but the views seem pitiful
>>11904721>>11904608I don't think it's being promoted. Or at least not well. Maybe Prime doesn't want it promoted? There should be a link to it, for example, at the Mattel Creations and any other Mattel MOTU site/page, and there isn't.I had to dig to find it.
>>11901633>>11901636Why are the arms straight lines at the shoulder? Do they not swap?
>>11904608It wouldn't take much to get main cast. I bet they would fail to make every character like Goat Man or Ram Man but 8 figures would casually cover main leads.Maybe they'll get Core figures. Without sequel, they cant make movie figures forever and they already released that golden Skeletor.>>11904647Oh, dang, that's a cool edit. Do the other characters.
Does anyone know if its possible to remove the legs and arms on these things? I know they're dont work like part swapping on origins but need to dismember them
>>11901374>ships on or before november 13WHY IS EVERYTHING A STINKIN FUCKIN PREORDER NOWWHY CANT THESE LAZY FAGGOTS HAVE IT IN STOCK THE DAY OF SALE ANYMORE
>>11904956Because they have their first shipments of it now, some coming later, and if it goes too fast it may also become a pre-order for next year. This has been standard for a year or two. You order now and if you're fast enough it ships within a day or three
>>11904947With enough heat, the legs will come off at the hips. For the arms, you can't remove them without destroying the torso.
Two bad for $22 plus his action feature is better than what I was expecting 3 years ago.
>>11904433BIG sum bitch
>>11904947Serious question, but why? And for what?
>>11905005Fetish. I love the idea of just a torso of a person but adding in an extending neck? I’m going to need a mop.
>>11905009>Fetish
>>11905005I was going to use the core class to fit inside the 1/16 Machinen Kreiger mechasuits because I think they're a similar scale. (I dont have any in hand yet I'm waiting on mail.) and you have to take out their legs and arms to fit inside but it's supposed to be like their limbs are in the power armour.
>>11904979Well shit there goes that idea.
>>11904979Wait do you know if forearms can be removed it might still fit.
>>11905050That looks interesting, I wish the colors were as bright and vibrant as on MEK, though to be honest You should post progress pictures on the customs thread, especially if you manage to pull apart MEK's torso.I'm waiting for holiday sales to get some extra bodies to take apart, that don't do so from the factory.
So all I could find was an interesting conversation about which minions were preferred between the skele-knights and older versions but I don't see and conversation about customization of the core skele-knights? Does the helm come off the head? Does that skirt piece come off?NOT MY PICTURE
>>11905115Skirt comes of and there’s two versions
>>11905115>>11905118Core heads are pop and swap too
>>11905118>>11905122Thank you.I might actually do an order on Mattel. But most of what I want they don't have in stock except for Dragstor
>>11905115
>>11905129Cheers
>>11905130>>11905133Grazie!
>>11901495If CC 200x doesn't do the Snakemen I'm gonna riot
I ordered this for $11 off Target, since they would apply their promo code to itI think I want to try a Skeletor head on it. Maybe even the white haired Evil-Lyn head.... Since I don't have any females at the moment.
>>11905072There actually are brightly colored SAFs in that line and even some that you can paint but they're so expensive in my currency and the aftermarket right now this was the only good deal I could find.
Got the single chronicles ram man in. $18 on amazon. Ram man feels buttery smooth. Idk what the fuck happened to all the chronicles heman figures because every one of those Ive gotten have been floppy.
no one posting about twobad going up today? I miss when these threads were just origins posting and we had like 30~ figures in the line.Everyone was making content and hopefully for revelation, and the only thing to complain about was the power con exclusives.
>>11905229Such a worthless and obscure toyline this turned out to be. Poor character choice between scales, and the lack of swivel arms. Amazon still wants the same price too
>>11905491There just isn’t anything really going on atm.
>>11905491more 80s shit again? Just finish 2002 instead already
>>11905538So you think it's a waste of $8+, after my promo code, that's what I paid. Target is actually a few bucks cheaper and my promo code knocked it down under $10 even with tax. I do agree with you that most of them are weird decisions, like Darius being 4" and the rest being 6" - I would consider Nasus if he was $5, not %17But it looks too much like such cheap plastic. I do think Anubis heads are such a good look, but the axe just looks like junky plastic.Thresh, at least, has the black making the plastic look less cheap and in the very few reviews I could find, it didn't look bad next to even Figma or a Mafex Iron Man. At least on YT.
>>11905122So which version would you say is the "correct" one?
>>11905557only if they dont end up clicking with you. I buy toys for being toys and im not even a League of Legends fan, but these were just boring toys to me. I even eyed Blitzcrank during sales, but I couldnt for any price
>>11905570>clicking Not sure what you mean.I buy for aesthetics, 50-70% my specific nostalgia/interests (which remains very DC), value (which varies and can be elastic for my strong interests), and for what I can do with any figures, which can also vary. For example, earlier this year, I took four of the Starro parasite spores, which were an included accessory in a McFarlane BAF wave of four, but even when the figures were still in store, we're not really cheap. I already own some but - to me - there's no such thing as "too many." I won the auction at about $21 but the tax and shipping brought it to slightly under $30. Right now, someone is trying to sell two for $39+ so probably $50 all told.BTW, scalpers are trying to sell that Blitzcrank for about $200. And there are no used, loose listings. Oh, and I don't play video.I just wanted a Skelly friend for Skeletor.
>>11905382Floppy how? Mine has been fine. But I only own two.The other I took apart and is boxed up right now while I try to organize and clean up.
>>11905115Fuck I wish Mattel would make just make these in a package together as an army builder. Not random kitbashes of different factions. The snake one sold out, unlike the other two. Probably because it actually made an army.
Sisters, hype me up for buying Two Bad. I am kind of over Motu. Been here since 2020. But I know I'll regret not completing vintage in Origins. What can I say...the combo of Red Shadow and Gray kind of broke the spell for me and I lost interest.
>>11905628Origins are dead. Move onto core or chronicles.
>>11905561Dark grey. I remove the skirts on the light grey and use them as pilots tho so they each serve a purpose.
>>11905670Naw, I've got almost everything Origins. Except the lame Club Payskull exclusives and Minicomic Tri-Kolps.Not starting over again.
>>11905628>>11905682Sell 'emPut the whole lot on eBay on a 10 day auction, starting at $9.99 with $39.99 for shipping within the 48 states.
>>11905051>>11904947It's a shame if his arms really can't be safely removed without the destroying the chest I had a couple of Legends I was trying to remove the jackets off so I could swap in the white arms and this lab coat and have a variety of Mad Scientist NPC/Civilians for display and toy photography purposes. And it's a bitch to get the shoulders off some Legends but you CAN do it, without breaking the torso. MEK looks like he would be a great troop builder if it was available at clearance in good quantities.[not my snapshot]
Got my vintage battleram today. It looks really nice. Do you recommend getting repro stickers for it or leaving as is?
>>11905738go to office depot/staples, possible even Target and Walmart, or order from the Evil Bald Billionaire, and get a packet of full sheets label paper for copiers and printerseven if you don't have a full color printer at home, as long as there is a FedEx Kinko (or local equivalent) in your metro area, you should be able to find whatever kind of stickers you ever need to make and just make an 8.5x11 sheets worth when you are ready to print them out. Make extras, leave room between, and cut carefullyPROFIT!
>>11905752Thanks. I just had a look on ebay and found picrel for $7 which seems a lot easier so I bought them
>>11905771When those arrive, take a picture or scan them in, and save the file for the future.
>>11905682Cool so you’re almost done right?
>>11905780Well yes and no. I gave up being a true completionist during Turtlea of Grayskull because tracking down stuff like Mer Man made collecting Motu stop being fun.But I have kept up with the updated Vintage and the OCs that looked cool. As well as cherry picking the Cartoon Collection for PoP characters.I'll still keep an eye on what's coming out so it's not like I'm going to walk away from Motu entirely.
Do you guys come up with alternate names/personalities for some of your figures? Like with the sketchbook series I have this:Sy-Klone is Viewpoint, Heroic Space Detective. The Alt-Head is Watt-Son his android assistant. They're enemies of Son-Ack( Spikor), Evil Sound Manipulating Bounty Hunter. Their Space ships were marooned on Eternia and Watt-Son's body destroyed.-Hordak and Grizzlor are Hor-Dor and Snoutclaw, Devious Horde Enforcer Duo. -Skeletor is Ha-Vok, Evil Weapons Enchanter, a magic purist who made Skeletor's Havoc Staff. -Man-E-Faces is Pha-Ro, Mysterious Master of Time! His faces represent past, present, and future. -I haven't made a name for He-Man but he's a warrior who suffers from an evil alternate personality.
My twobad shipped, it'll be fun to get a vintage heman for Halloween
>>11905906Yeah and I have alternate lore for Motu as a whole that sticks with the original concept of castle greyskull and expands out from there.
>>11905588>I just wanted a Skelly friend for Skeletor. If it works out in the end, that $8 will be worth it then.
>>11905906Renaming/Repurposing your toys is peak toy-play we dont discuss enough. Best I can do is change a character's background
>>11905671So it looks like the distinction is that one came in that four pack and the other was the lose one? I still think I will wait and pass on the Mattel on-line sale. I don't necessarily really want to army build them - and don't really want to give Skeletor a minion army, I don't have anything for the Grayskull side unless I mixed in another franchise (like having an army of spider-man fight for eternia?) So for what these are, 2 or 4 might be more than enough for what I might do with them. And I think they were on sale at the Mattel store?
>>11905906Genius!
>>11905906It's fascinating how we all play differently. I'm very much a conformist, so I'm the opposite. All of my play is a meticulous recreation of specific cartoon or comic stories, no stand-ins, no substitutes. Only the right character in the right situation. I find it very theraputic.
I’m not an old head or completionist but I’m looking forward to jumping into origins with the BAF waves. Going to pick and choose. MAA, Merman and Man E look fucking awesome.
>>11906058Fuck yeah they do
>>11905929Did you order anything else with it or just Two Bad?
>>11906058Upgraded Beastman for me, I'm so glad mattel got rid of his half-assed hunchback and just gave him a proper mane like 200X
>>11905906I like you're alternate names anon especially Ha-Vok. I stared calling sketchbook Sy-Klone Ray-Dar since I wanted him and the alt head Sy-Klone in my collection. I still want to pick up sketchbook Spikor at some point.
>>11906365Thanks. I got Viewpoint for this deleted Incredibles 2 scene. https://youtu.be/U17ZxOrtWQU?
>>11906053I dont play with my toys or make up backstories anymore I really want to get back into it. Everything just goes in boxes. I think I used to get the most enjoyment out of partswapping origins though.
>>11905738I hope we get Battle Ram Man in Battle Ram Armour like that Heman in chronicles. The names just fit together so well.
Is there a reason we never got Horde Prime in origns?
Someone posted this pic in the last thread so I'm gonna try and manifest it in real life because this is what I always wanted. An origins 'Elite' line from Mattel. Highly detailed versions of the vintage figures but with a Mondo style updates to the costumes and using the origins scale and articulation.I'd gladly pay $100+ per figure for these instead of more cheap shitty Origins redos like what Mattel is planning next with their BAF line.
>>11906482Nah. Looks overly detailed to me.I'd prefer they do a new classics line in 6" as part of Chronicles. Similar to the 7" line but much simple comic designs and colors with better articulation, i.e. alt face plates, floating necks, butterflies, bicep swivels, floating abs, ball waist, drop down hips, etc. you get the idea.
>>11906482>>11906487I am not sure most people would pay $100 per.But I do want better and, more importantly, swappable accessories. And all the articulation ideas mention in the last sentence here >>11906487
>>11906482>$100+Big fat no.
>>11906482I did this and at absolute most it should cost between $35-$40 just because Mattel would squeeze us. Realistically something like this should cost $30
>>11906482This is the logical next step for origins. It’s just painted armor and maybe new heads and boots.
>>11906576Why do you boomers still buy origins when masterverse exists? Can you fags just not pose? If mattel chose to cut off these baby toys and reinvest that money into their chronicles line they would be king of domestic figures.
>>11906588masterverse figures sucked dick with few exceptions and so do you for not liking origins
>>11906591It has to be a troll lol
>>11906591>>11906604Report it for trolling before he keeps going
>>11906588I used to think the same but origins is superior.
>>11906619Chill out
>>11906629
>>11906571At $30 it would be cheap trash, I'm talking high end detailing and paint, real collector grade stuff not just run of the mill origins crap aimed at poor fags.I want Inart levels of quality.
>>11906666Don't care Satan.
Lot of deal on 200x CC on Amazon. Just got Roboto for $15 and Teela for $13
>>11906666Then don’t ask Mattel to do it
>>11906666Then buy your gay monkey inartsOr you know Mondo.
>>11906482Line like that wouldn't probably last long At best: He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, Orko, Stratos, Ram Man, Man-E-Faces, Sorceress, Battle Cat, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, Mer-Man, Trap Jaw and Tri-Klops.
>>11906747A $100 stratos would kill yet another line
I got two bad in today but his right arm after one try of the spring loaded feature busted and now he cant do his punching motion on that arm. Did anyone else have this issue?
>>11906818Well that’s too bad
>>11906818I thought Mattel was good about responding to these QC issues?>>11906666There are literally hundreds of versions of this character - some for literal pennies. People barely want to spend one to several hundred for their core favorites, like He-Man, Superman or Spider-Man. No one is going to spend $100+ on the Pet Rock of action figure characters.
>>11906588I bought one masteverse figure and I regret it
>>11906946I have purchased, just in the past thirty day, at least 11, a combination of NIB at retail, in person, and on-line or used/loose on the secondary market, and my only regret is that some I could have apparently gotten on clearance for less than I paid.In that same thirty days, I have gotten 1 Chronicles, 2 deluxe 200x (1 of which is a collaboration) and 1 Origin collaboration and I mostly purchased them because they are on sale. The only one I had intended to purchase was the Chronicles but had intended to wait for a holiday sale but lucked into one of those discouned "resale" on-line listings.Regret is a thing for blues singers and C+W housewives, anon.
>>11906469>implying they wont dripfeed us origins until they can shoehorn him in
>>11906666Damn chinese devils don't understand toys are meant to be played with!
>>11906961you're right anon buying something and then being disappointed by it is such an esoteric experiencefucking retard
>>11906818How the hell did you break it after one movement?
>>11906961What does you buying a bunch of toys have to do with anybody else regretting a purchase? Are you an actual sociopath?
>>11907028>>11907032You two should duetSome nice guitar or a banjoThe video should be cheap, too, just wait for some rain and leave those Masterverse purchases you regret out in the mud.
Are masterverse fans usually like this?
>>11907039Thought it was all MOTU fans
I’m bummed about mighty masters bros. I’ve never seen wave 2 and as far as I know Mattel has never even officially talked about the line. It’s not looking good. Honestly they would’ve been better off as $20 multi packs instead of $5 short packed cases. Imagine just being able to grab the wave in one go. Could’ve been great.
>>11907061Hm, good to know.
What are your hopes for NYCC? I really want them to announce a movie origins castle greyskull and snake mountain although I do realize movie snake mountains chances this year are extremely low because of them doing the rerelease with the added lava fall. I’d also like the core movie figures to round out the remaining handful of characters and see some more non movie core figures. Aside from that I’ like to see the 200x CC snakemen but I won’t be holding my breath.
>>11907039Probably is just the local troll farming (You)s
>>11907103It feels like we just got the reveals of Chronicles'27 waves 1-3, so the most I could hope for is probably some new prototypes and maybe more concept art. I'd be happy to see any new exclusives, and I'd like to see some Chronicles crossover figures.
>>11906826I keked
>>11907103I wanna see Buzzoff and Man at Arms from chronicles but it might be too early. I'm not sure what else I should expect. PoP CC is a big want of mine.
Got two Multi-Bots at Ross today to fill out the Horde. They're fun.
>>11907216Digging the proto-Faker there.
>>11907216What a bunch of dickheads!
>>11906818At least Mattel remains consistent.
Ok, imagine you get any crossover with Motu in Origins lineBut!It has to be post-2000s franchise. No DC, GI Joe, BraveStarr...What do you pick?
>>11907216My stores have a lot of those boxes but they were all $29.99. I am hoping it will at least go down to $19.99 in a month or so like all the excess NECA stuff has been, especially since the holiday stuff will be coming in soon. The Panthro and Battlecat boxes started at $12.99 and, with patience, I finally found a pink tagged Panthro, that was also a damaged box - I don't think anything was missing but some kid or some asshole had broken the box and clearly taken the figure out and then clearly forced it back in.So they let me take it home for $4.99 - once I asked. And yes, I can afford full retail, but I didn't really NEED or want a Panthro, he was just 'nice to have.' I happily paid $12.99 for a Mattel JW Dino because those sell out and they only had one.
>>11907270...there are post-2000s franchises?
>>11907270I don't know if I want a crossover where they try to mash up characters but I think Fallout would make some great 5.5 figures. The Power Armor and Super Mutanta especially. And maybe a female Vault Dweller and Harold the Ghoul before he turns into a tree.
>>11907270The obvious answer is How To Train Your Dragon. But - and hear me out: Amazon does a time travel animated mini-series and Disney does it as well, and you get a basic 4-8 main character cross-over with PICREL
>>11907270I'm gonna skirt by on this technicality butDragon Ball Z Kai. Figures in Orig9ns Style would be absolutely kino.
>>11907270IMO, Ben 10 is the most toyetic post-2000s franchise I can think of. Getting Four Arms, Heatblast, XLR8 or Wildmutt would be cool.>>11907279Sky High deserved so much better.
>>11907284Blukic & Driba as Two Bad would be great"No, it wouldn't""Yes, it would"
>>11907029>How the hell did you break it after one movement?I have no idea
>>11907284I'm still butthurt we never got an Argit figure.
So who's got figures to recreate those now?
>>11907318I wanted Looma and Attea for very normal , hah.But honestly, for how terrible Reboot was, it had at least decent toys. So of course in last season when they introduced only one new alien, Im annoyed they didn't make Jetray toy...or more accurately, they only made on in that shitty battle armor gimmick. And they gave toy to every other reccuring alien until him.
>>11907270>It has to be post-2000s franchisepass
>>11907270He-Man VS Naruto!>>11907325This is why I started collecting. Classics aren't my scale and are out of my price range now, so CC is currently the best way to recreate these lineups.I still desperately want them to do a bunch of characters that are missing, but i've already given up and started grabbing origins instead.
Got a steal on a lot of origins vehicles. Talon fighter + point dread, air raider, sky sled, ground ripper, strider and night stalker all for $30!My collection is starting to get too big!
>>11907382To quote Filmation title "Too Many Skeletors"
>>11907386I can't help it. Everytime I see a lose one for under $20 I have to grab it. Shame the Mondo 1/6 wasn't more filmation accurate or I could recreate picrel.
>>11907361Damn, classics filmation teela looks kinda rough.
Anybody have a gray figure that can tell me if he's a skin match for he-man? I have a feeling I'd like how he-man looks with gray's arms, legs and furry underwear.
I haven’t searched too hard but I can’t seem to find anyone doing custom dbz parts for Motu which seems crazy to me. Boots and heads with maybe some fists would be all you need in some cases
>>11907284>Ben 10I mean, Sky High can be adapted to the medieval/fantasy world of MOTU reasonably easily but once you start getting very modern, and very science fiction, especially with gadgets and not just the simple weapons/vehicles of 1980s/even early 2000s animation, it becomes more of a tonal shift>>11907361This is why the terminology can be confusing for newbies. ONCE I see these and see the labels, te distinction and the importance is definitely clear, but hearing classics/origins/cartoon/200x is like being a Marvel casual and having someone quiz you on X-Men lore and line-ups.>>11907387Everyone is doing their Council of Reeds moment
Why the fuck don’t we have something like this
>>11907431The character designs in DB especially during Namek would translate well into Origins. Unfortunately weeb culture treats such a thing as sacrilege especially with such a high profile IP. Even if you made the perfect custom MotU Origins Goku and Bejita you'd receive a ton of hate for it. Also you'd have a hard time sourcing poofy gi pants for Goku/Piccolo/Tien.
>>11907466>Also you'd have a hard time sourcing poofy gi pants for Goku/Piccolo/TienYou could get away with a new lower leg piece with puffy sculpted plastic just above the boot peg
>>11907466>>11907459If you are willing to paint a figure, the bottom half is easy and not hard to find inexpensively, in existing figures, even in some MOTU collaborations. It's the deep "V" and sleeveless upper torso that would be specifically hard. The bottom DBZ 'pants' don't actually look any more like actual "pants" (with say fabric folds the way the upper torso does show) than say Prince Adam "pant's" appear in any Origins or Classic or 200x figure of Adam.
>>11907456>This is why the terminology can be confusing for newbies.Agreed. I only got into MOTU as an adult about 2 months ago and found this site really useful to understand what was what.https://www.actionfigure411.com/masters-of-the-universe/Now I know exactly what I'm looking at when I see a loose ebay listing and whether or not it's what I want.
>>11906487>tiny feet>heelsoof
Anyone else not able to upload pictures right now?
>>11907576Oh yeah, great site - especially to see if it's some idiot scalper trying to choke you by overpricing something. To be honest, I mostly have used it when I am buying something - not when I want to learn.I suspect I should change that. That said, I still don't understand how and why the 'market' makes the choices it makes. Like why is this guy so damn expensive? I can see how Snout or Scare Glow are but the MV Prince Adam, I am sure I am missing some secret history or some such?
>>11907270I pick Xevoz, but only because a crossover with a more successful toy line is the only possible way that I csn get more Xevoz.
>>11907632Xevoz was a fantastic line. Never really got into the more adult aimed Stikfas version, but Xevoz was great for variety. The Hero Mashers line started to be a bit like Xevoz and then Hasbro got cheap and shrank the molds as the lines continued so if you had early TF or Marvel then it didn't work very well with the later figures as well like Star Wars or ongoing Marvel.
>>11907275Fast and Furious
>>11907584>>11907690I like. What about the skele-knight bucks? This is >>11905130 just some minor swapage?
>>11907502Just cut a deeper v on Ninjor's chest overlay. If I were to do a custom, I'd do that and paint it orange, paint the shoulders and chest blue, mod the legs with Green Stuff to sculpt in folds, and cut the head/hands off some cheap over produced Goku statue.

>>11907771It depends How does it look from the side?To be fair, I might not have thought anything just from seeing it head on. The only thing that really jumps is that the loin cloth piece does look a tad bigger than it should.
>>11907749maybe god of war if it they hadn't made it gay and lame
I really just want a mossman that looks like his comic design and not a beastman repaint. Will it ever happen? I hate the flocked fur gimmick as well.

So will Mattel be at NYCC ? I want to see this new and improved Snake Mountain they mentioned during SDCC (Hopefully its bigger).
What are MOTU characters that arent vintage but feel the most like they could be?
>>11907279You know who he would have to bring back?
>>11908028would fit right in

I’m holding out for movie origins greyskull and snake mountain

>>11908245What’s the point of teases like this for a figure that’s already been revealed?
>>11908204I don't think that's going to happen cause they already did a Core two in one playset and Core is just half an inch shorter than Origins which is measured crouching at 5.5 inches but are actually 6 inch while standing upright.
>>11908262I’ll hodl
I want more repaints
>>11908010They have a booth.Mattel has been alleged to be releasing the DC adult collection reveals at NY Comic Con. That's been alleged forever since it didn't happen at SDCC. As far as panels, a Hasbro and several McFarlane are announced but nothing Mattel specific as of today. There's a handful of DC specific and DC related panels that could include toy reveals but I assume Mattel would prefer it's own stage to itself. As of today's current released info, the only MOTU specific panel is a comic one by Dark Horse.

>>11908333Man, they really dropped the ball on this 200x Teela face. Looks nothing like her in the cartoon. Also missing her iconing hair tails that drop down to her chest.
>>11908377And her right eye is misprinted
>>11908377Did the sculptor really use this screen as the reference? It explains why they didn't give her the two front hair tails.
>>11908367they should make more mounts in general
>>11907977Speaking of Moss Man. The new Tales from Eternia has the worst version of Moss Man. What a strange redesign. Is he supposed to look like a shitty gym bro bouncer painted green? I know this show is strictly for little kids but my youtube algorithm keeps serving them up and the few I've clicked on before all seemed to stick close to the classic designs. Weird choice.
>>11908514Apart from the Origins alt head, has Moss Man ever been bald before?
>>11908514I dunno, it got me, indirectly, interested in Manatee. I kinda was curious about Mer-Man but he has no accessories I'm really sold on, and then I confused the two, but just enough to find some 200x of both I liked. But I only got interested in either from, yeah, admittedly a dumb cartoon. My algorithm keeps pushing comedians or politics until I clear everything - so even a dumb cartoon is a great palette/brain cleanser.

It's usually Filmation (Mer-Man, Ram Man...) but Goat Man, Moss Man and Fisto use Revelation designs (on Fisto you can tell by purple bracelet and slicked back hair) Clawdul uses toy design with Filmation colors and Spikor movie design with some toy details.

>>11908298Same here, but not just for He-man and Skelly. Roboto, Ram Man, Fisto, and even the skeleknights could all use repaints of their own.

>>11901878The 200x version had one arm that swung down and another that did an uppercut. That being said, they somehow managed to turn the most anticipated and instant buy figure into a hard pass. How do you manage to fumble so badly after making 2 other figures of the same concept?
>>11908748Really? I'd think they have something ready for 2027>>11908781Movie colors yeah, but I want something unique to this toyline the same way war paint he-man was.
The King Hiss TMNT was finally remainedered and I almost grabbed three but I figured two should do. I was running around on shuttles between my meeting and these errands and took one box apart and started playing with it. Yes, people did stare. When I used to read DC trade paperback on the commuter trains or shuttles, people would chat me up but I think most of them had no clue what King Hiss is/was.Coincidentally, since it's still humid and no one would care at my morning meeting, I am wearing a graphic print shirt from a 2000s fantasy book/film franchise and that elicited more comments than anything else.

>>11908903>I'd think they have something ready for 2027nta, but more likely they would save the launch details for the NYTF in Feb when all the big retailers are at the show. They might tease some details, but DC is supposed to be getting a front and center showing soon.
So after getting snake mountain I finally caved and got the fright zone. Not sure if i want the slime pit or not.>>11909145Not sure what you mean here. Core and orgins are the same size.
This motherfucker is going to kill this line. My Walmart has 10 of these, and no one is buying them. Just wait till Tri Klops hits. We'll never see another wave on the pegs after that.

>>11909263The legs on the Origins, I assume, require extra space on vehicles, animals, etc. I have a McFarlane Moto, the one from the Batman drifter figure, and it fits the movie Chronicles He-Man well. I didn't photograph it, since I still plan to alter the loin cloth so it's separate pieces, like the actual movie costume, but haven't figured out where my clean, sharp x-acto blades are. When I got the 200x Samurai, he doesn't sit as well on the Masterverse Panthor so I assume an Origins fits it better? The Moto is put away and the two big cats I have are somewhere under something but I can't really test even though I actually have an origins handy since I just got something from eBay.I'm new, if you couldn't tell.

Skeletor at the beginning, MAA near the end and the heman blast wave at the end takes them out completely. At the end they make it a point to show they weren’t rebuilt meanwhile the whole city had been. The erasure of white history retroactively make the MAA race swap become a problem. I just set back and looked at my core figures. The movies color palette for costumes is so shit. So strange when they made everything else so vibrant. Does anyone else think the MAA figure looks better without the shoulder armor
>>11910099I think the older figures look better without it, in fact. New Eternia, 200x, and the standard Masterverse have all popped up at Ross lately and that's part of the reason I passed them by whereas the Thundercats 200x was slightly more expensive but I figured would ultimately give me more to play with. >>11908369>>11907773No love for the sword action version? Are they bootlegs or factory rejects?I got a couple horde troopers and they came with different colored weapons, but i dont have an official to compare with. The plastic quality doesn't seems great, but i know there was always marbling with these. Not sure if they are smaller. The play feature works at least.Considering getting more.
>>11910114Could be factory rejects. What do the weapons look like vs the "official" ones?
>>11910115The staff is silver instead of red (like the one that came with the red trooper) and they also came with a red crossbow each. There are other ali listings that have tge weapons in different colors so I think they just mix and match them in different listings.

Just noticed this 200x Teela on clawfuls box art
>>11910114I have experience buying lose but not origins. You get a mix of factory rejects (so don't ever expect cards/boxes, accessories - even things like capes, because the rejects are taken out before anything like that would be added in finishing, even if the listing reads "NEW") or some other QC issue. Here's one example, when McFarlane released the SuperPowers for Peacemaker, it was a 3PK that was hard to find or expensive when you did and I picked up this reject, which looked fine in the pictures until you get him in this position, and you can see the unpainted part. I have also purchased KO product, which again comes in a baggie or similar, not in a box. When shipping was dirt cheap from China, I wouldn't hesitate to consider it IF the price was right. Now that it isn't dirt cheap, it depends.I would definitely look at feedback and pictures on Ali and if the seller has NOTHING, I would avoid, you may just get nothing and while you will likely get a refund, it might be store credit, or partial. I personally don't bother with NO feedback sellers and wouldn't if I were you, unless it's the only option and you have no alternatives.>>11910115>>11910120Yes, if you are getting accessories, they are also often "rejects" from other figures that they just, essentially, put together to make them more 'sales-worthy' and attractive.
>>11910178>>11910178>put it on my regular heman since the boots swivel.Yeah, got the two I own for that reason>swordsAnd also that it's a different sword. I just wish the torso and that second arm weren't just going to end up as left over fodder. Even if the Optimus Prime collab figure at a discount from ebay, I can take the arms off and use them for something - not sure what - but it's an option.>>11910266>>11910285They didn't really fire him. They HAD to replace him since he left. He's going to be come the Co-CEO at the new Warner Brothers/Paramount/Skydance. If you want to consider him a failure, he's definitely failing upwards.the valuation just for Paramount (before the Skydance merger even) would be several times that of Mattel. Even cutting out the bloat and the fact that Paramount/Skydance is consider junk bond status today, as far as what their debt makes them valued at, if you sold off the main pieces of Warner Brothers today, without this garbage debt, any one of the major pieces would be worth more than Mattel as a whole, such as just the television production catalogue library

Is it worth ignoring the timed editions for the Mondo releases and settling for the regulars? I would love to have them all with their bases, especially since my first preorder was Timed Teela, but keeping up with Mondo's preorder schedule is too annoying with an active job. If something is gonna sell out not even a day after preorder, that's annoying to have to do multiple times a year
>>11910566Standards fine
>>11907632I know I said Xevoz (and I would still be very grateful if it miraculously happened); but I was thinking about it today, and I think that I would rather see a collab between MOTU and Akedo. I never thought that Akedo got a fair shake. The figures were just the right size, and the aesthetic was on point. Their TMNT collab was some of my favorite representations of the characters in a long while. It would have been cool to have gotten some of the classic MOTU characters as Akedo figures. Even more than that, though, I would kill to see some Akedo characters get the MOTU Origins treatment. There are some characters that would fall right in line with MOTU in terms of appearance.

I was focussed on a family thing at the time and didnt jump on it and still kick myself for not.Anyways the camo khan looked all painted decently and came with the green chrome accessory. Duplico didnt have some of the (red?) paint finish and probably lighter eyebrows on the head and came with his vacuum/transformer gun.Your horde troopers have the same marbeling pattern as regular so good job I'd say.I think there is something just a bit more special with the rejects, they might be considered rare in circumstances like that duplico.

>>11910698I hope they learn how to make better toys. reviewers seem to like that new Hellboy but everything else from them has been pretty bad so I’ll believe it when I hear it from regular customers
>>11910115>>11910376>>11910738>>11910886Thanks. There are some other listings so I just ordered a King Hiss, Kobra Khan and Jitsu.Sadly the Scare Glow and Grizzlor are sold out, I managed to get Scare Glow cheap off eBay, but Grizzlor is a bitch to find.
>>11910957Immortal champions seem like the only line of theirs worth following. Been waiting a long time for origins style figures of different ips. I hope they can get robocop, predator and alien.
Just won an auction of five females, for under $50 shipped, including the MV Shadow Weaver and Catra. Catra wasn't too expensive to buy new and she was on my list so I am happy except that Despara is missing her two swords? I am hoping the seller just didn't realize the swords belonged to her and has them somewhere before he ships. I also won what I thought was the 200x Frosta but apparently is the Masterverse. I have no clue who she is and stupidly thought it was an alternate Sorcress.
>>11910957I was interested in their movie and King Features Flash Gordon until I saw videos of the size. I don't necessarily have problems with 5" figures but most reviews were not flattering and any that put them with other figures, they just looked smaller than 5" - I do like their sword and sorcery stuff, some of which is 6" but it just feels expensive with nothing to show for it. I would get the football player Flash with the lunchbox for a steal price, if it fell in my lap. And it actually has some positive video reviews.
>>11910966post your hoard when it arrives please.I would be curiousand especially how the arrive and in what condition - every ali express package I received last year and this year was at least crushed
>Image limitNew bread please
>>11911455Hodl until anything new is announced
>>11911501A week plus? For a fresh thread that will likely hit image limit in less than a week?
I picked up 4 Core MAA last night. I'll see if I can strip the paint on the necks and if not I'll paint them green so I can just switch heads around as I please. I ordered the peepee Grayskull from Mattel during that sale. It is supposed to arrive today by 9 from UPS.
>>11911579The neck paint paint comes right off with alcohol. I pulled the Idris heads out of the helmets. I'll need to find my dermel to thin down the inside of them.
>pre-order the entire Origins wave through Amazon on Day 1 months ago>everything is backordered today>pre-order Core figures the other night>arriving todayI grow tired of Amazon's "reliable" pre-order system. Even 200X Sorceress is back-ordered and I hardly see a demand for her
>>11911364They all come loose. No packaginng, just the figure and accessories wrapped in bubble wrap in a bag. At least that's what I expect and how the horde troopers came. Same with lose Marvel Legends. I often use them to get the BAF's cheap.
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdu1JXFoI-UFlip-or Wave 2 starts Oct 13th. Hoping he has less action features and more regular sculpts with this too large of a wave of figures to pick from. >in b4 BUY AN AD, HATTER!
>>11912765>>in b4 BUY AN AD, HATTER!>in b4! Is this magically supposed to stop anons from telling you to fuck off?Still not MOTU, buy an ad or start your own shill thread Hatter. No one outside of your subs cares.

>>11910966Probably because Grizzlor was an exclusive and the others were not.

>>11913887Rogue would be proud
>>11913634>Ironic toylines are faggot shitWhat? You don't want a Walmart man figure anon? But its so corporate kitsch!
>>11913634>>11913951There's so many people with genuine ideas that deserve to make MotU over shitty jokes like this.and a lot actually have like Formo toys, and Immortal Champione and the 5" Frazetta line so it's not all bad bht this makes me more disappointed than Axel OCs x100. You had a chance to do cool indie toys and its fucking ironic eceleb jokes fucks you
>>11911579>ordered the peepee Grayskull from Mattel during that sale. It is supposed to arrive today by 9 from UPS.Please let me know if yours has white specks in the plastic. I ordered 2 and they both have this. Didnt bother returning the second because it was on a big sale.
>>11914170Wait the pee greyskull is the neon green one right or is it a movie thing? I meant the concept greyskull
>>11914169Scalpor was the better OC though
>>11914170It does. Also the yellow paint is kinda slopped on with mine and you can see where it was too thick and ran down on the back. >>11914171Concept.
>>11913391Yeah. I just paid $50 for one.
I've been buying origins for nearly a year now. I haven't had any trouble with motu sellers on Ebay. I went into Ollie's and they still had a bunch of those WWE Superstars(Origins but just classic versions of the wrestlers, not the crossover) Ric Flairs for $4, so I pick up a couple. Start looking into the line, ordered a couple cheap on Ebay and these guys keep messaging me with weird little questions and wanting my info. I always thought it was weird that there's half a dozen wrestling lines but no general on /toy/ but now I know.
>>11914333>I always thought it was weird that there's half a dozen wrestling lines but no general on /toy/ but now I know./toy/ doesn't have enough /pw/ fans to support it and /pw/ has too many fags who talk about shoving a toy up their ass. Some of us collect Superstars and/or the Masters of the WWE Universe lines, but no one cares too hard about it.
>>11914340Damn that sucks. With one of the sellers I fucked up and bought "pick up only" and they live 3 states away. I said "fuck it, here's the pick up code enjoy your $13" now they're harassing me about it and wants my name/number/email/FB so "we can work out shipping". I'm afraid he wants to shove toys up my ass.
>>11914357>wants my name/number/email/FB so "we can work out shipping"Ha! Ignore his ass.
>>11909406That rocks. What cape is that on Hordak?
>>11913887remove the target theme and this dude would be really cool
Really wish Mattel would sell an accessory pack for MOTU figures in any and all scales. Turns out both of my auction wins from last Thursday have at least something missing on about 70% of the 10 figures in total across both lots.>>11901374anyone gonna bake?
>>11909425>retroactivelyLMAO
Is the 7" Stinkor worth paying $8-9 (including shipping) to get loose for the two heads? I don't necessarily want or need the body and he sadly has no axe or sword but I am sure that would eventually get some use.
>>11914986Masterverse? He should come with 2 heads, 4 hands, a shield, and a little blue Bane mask. The stink is his weapon.
>>11915011>The stink You mean the canisters in his pack? That is an interesting enough accessory. Now that I know that Bane head is a spare head with a mask, I am actually more excited for Deranged-Cat-Being heads. The seller offering them with the discount doesn't has three non-fisted hands. The blue shield looks kinda boring but I'm sure it'll get SOME use.
There's some company that makes big goofy rubber dinosaurs for toddlers. Picked up the pterodactyl for my kid at some mom and pop toy store and I can't help but think it looks good as a mount for Sharella. I found a seller on Amazon called gzsbaby (don't know if that's the company that makes them or not) that sells a 6 pack for $25.
>>11915530You mean the rubber balls that turn into snake like dragons? I've seen those on line, they look very Chinese New Year - where did you find one in person? I don't have an issue with that but much prefer the three headed King G knock-offs they produce, but something rubbery, like you're suggesting.
>>11915537No. You know know those cheap little multicolored dinosaurs you can get a dozen in a bag? Like green army men? Think that but like 12 by 8 inches and made of a soft rubbery plastic. If we weren't at the image limit I'd just post a picture of Sharella riding it. My town has a couple of toy consignment stores and one of the vendors just opened their own store. I went looking for loose Origins figures but found that Dinosaur.
The core movie playset is on prime day sale for $55, 200x, chronicles, and some core also on sale too.
>>11915646Some older stuff is also on sale. I was hoping one of the older Robotos but no such luck. I was also hoping some of the other deluxe Turtles of Grayskull long-neck figures but alas, ear wax.
>>11915823>>11915823>>11915823made a new bread because I can't post any images here
