Besides using clamshell bits what else could you use to make something like this without wasting $25-28 to buy it from a shitty movie with props you don't care about?
>>
>>11904135
I think you're missing the point here anon. Someone buys this because it's from the movie with a bunch of props. There are way too many of you on this board that can't see the forest for the trees. It's concerning.

Stupid is as stupid does

Nobody bought it which is why it's on clearance.

You're probably gonna end up spending more money on material to make something like that, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

>>11904314
The worst part about it isn't actually the cube itself, that's a neat little display stand, even if it looks pretty cheap. No, the worst part about it is that the accessories it comes with are absolutely garbage. It could've easily been a cool, stealth accessory set for their awful movie figures, but instead of making neat looking weapons and such from the movie, they chucked in a bunch of cartoonish garbage that matches neither the live action aesthetic nor the aesthetic from the Monsters/Drizzt figures they put out.

If they kept some sort of thematic cohesion, it would've been a great little display stand to go with other figures in the line. As is, and at it's original price, it's just junk.

Hasbro dropped the ball HARD with the D&D push. Which is a shame because they really could've done something special with the line seeing as it's technically a brand they entirely own.

Im glad it bombed because like with the video game industry in america collapsing on itself it just goes to show how retarded everyone is over there and dont deserve anything nice hence the skyrocketing price of everything worthwhile

Acrylic display cubes + hot glue and translucent paint. But you'd probably still end up spending that same amount of money for the materials plus your time as well.

>>11904364
I'm not concerned about money and I'm not sure I need an acrylic box. Target doesn't even sell the cracked acrylic Brightroom storage boxes but some of the stores donate them to thrift stores instead of destroying them or landfilling them, and you can find one. But even new, with a lid, this is just $7 for example.
I'm thinking ice cube or cloud 'box' or gas 'box.'
But thank you for at least answering.

I'm capable enough. Also this reply >>11904371 was meant for you as well, not 4341

Step 1 make jello
Step 2 cut into cube
Step 3
Step 4 profit
>>
>>11905936
Too much work. Go to your Grandma's and ask if she has an empty 45 oz blue bonnet margarine container (she probably has 10), make a batch of jello and let it set in the container and why you're at throw your marvel legends the Hood inside. Leave it overnight and flip that thing upside down on a plate next morning and there you have it.

Jello is unhealthy

Yea, you don't need an acrylic box specifically for this, but you would need to have a better idea of what you want out of the project.

Do you want it to be stiff and rigid like the Hasbro cube or would you want a more soft rubbery texture? Do you want it to actual hold a figure inside or do you want it entirely sealed closed up? Do you want it to be completely solid or hollow inside?

Essentially, making the cube would just be like making a mold for a toy, so the process would be pretty similar. But you would still need a concrete concept of what you want the final product to be like so you end up buying the correct materials to create the cube you want.

>would you want a more soft rubbery texture
Ideally

>Do you want it to actual hold a figure inside
not necessarily a 'figure' but to have options, it shouldn't be a sealed box. And yes, therefore "hollow."
And thanks.

so is plasticizer, what's your point?
>>
>>11908852
You might be choosing to out plasticizer in your body. I, on the other hand ....

Why not just make your own Silicone cube anon? depending on what brand you use you can get different results, most folks in the cosplay and 3d printing scene use Dragonskin since it's quite good for mold making and other such things, i am not sure if there's a translucent version of the brand, but i know others exist, i also know that the best way to dye them is using Alcohol inks, also while writing this comment i discovered something called Urethane Resin which can end up making things like pic related, which i assume can also be dyed to your liking

Thanks for the suggestion on dragonskin, albeit the stuff looks expensive.
Alcohol markers are great. I've been using sets of off-brand water and alcohol Gundam style markers for customization and it's been a real eye-opener over acrylic paint with a brush.

You just made me interested in this and found one on ebay used for $6 so bought it =) Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I'm in the UK, so was converting. Shipping was cheap. I think this is a much better idea than trying to make one myself.

Whilst doing my research I came across these clear sheets that looked interesting.
