Alright kids, the grown ups are in the room now. Also Dino General I guess...
>>11909335Worst OP I've ever seen of any thread on this board in years.
>>11909340Its looks HC size too
>>11909335Rexy having a zombie mouth will forever fuck with me now. I can't unsee it. Imagine how fucked her teeth likely are? Just exploded to the elements and likely getting caught in foliage all the time. She would have fucked up Chris Chan teeth and likely terrible tooth pain. Makes my mouth hurt just looking at her.
>>11909341I'm pretty sure the big one is 1/35 scale, the 2 middle ones are 1/64 and the rest are minis
I hope the 1/35 scale rex sells well because i would love to see a greater variety of species. Nanmu's are great bu they only make theropods (and crocodiles)
>>11909345AGREED. We need more herrbivores. Part of what made the kenner line fun was the mixture of different ecomorphs. Now its all about muh carnosaurs because $$$$
>>11909345>>11909347nanmu just announced a triceratops
>>11909342>Do you realize- do you realize something? They could drop an asteroid on us and kill us!
>>11909389Really?
>>11909342Doggosuarus Rexy
>>11909335The HC Indominus is so embarrassing. The Tyrannosaurus was not great, but it had the excuses of being such an early figure in the line. The Indominus though is just fucking absurd with how bad it it. Like how did we go from the Giga and Spino to this?>>11909345>>11909455It's paleo accurate rather than being the JP trike. I think they might basically be done with doing unlicensed JP figures now that Blokee's has the license and is selling figures in the same scale as them. The Chinese government turns a blind eye to copyright stuff until the person complaining is a larger Chinese company so now that Blokees has the official Nanmu may stick to doing paleo accurate figures.
>>11909484They need big kissable lips so their big banana teeth dont dry out and become brittle. Imagine having a crazy bite force thats so powerful it would immediately dust your brittle dry teeth into dust when you tried using them? You can only imagine the tooth pain.
>>11910203Not exactly related but between dinosaurs being the ancestors of modern birds (if memory serves) and the fact that a Tyrannosaurus' main prey would likely be equally huge, I always liked the idea of a T-Rex behaving like a giant crow around humans; we're far too small to register as worthwhile prey, and with how intelligent some birds (corvids especially) are, I can imagine it being more fascinated than appetized by humans. Plus the idea of one of the largest land predators in history acting like a big friendly birb with people is just funny and so I choose to believe it would be so.
>>11909735What the fuck happened to the Indominus? the giga and spino were great, why couldn't the indom be on that same level of quality?
>>11909735>I think they might basically be done with doing unlicensed JP figuresI hope this doesn't get in the way of a possible Disney Carnotaurus...
>>11910342Part of me thinks it was made before either the Spino or the Giga because it's got a bunch of the proportion issues of the Tyrannosaurus, but the lack of a glass eye, the stupid meat chunk, and swappable parts are all newer stuff added to the line to try to artificially justify the price increase, so I really have no idea why the quality of this recent wave collapsed so totally. >>11910343That'd be awesome. Right now, we know they Yangchuanosaurus, Nile Crocodile, Tyrannosaurus, and Triceratops in the works after their current Raptors and JP Tyrannosaurs, but it'd be great if they did a Disney Carnotaurus. With how massively oversized the Disney Carno is a 1/35 figure of it would still end up being about the same size as the BOTM 1/18 Carno.
Anyone here got the Hammond Indominus Rex? How is it as a dino toy?
>>11910471I think it's pretty good as a toy. It's just that it is a massive quality downgrade when compared to previous figures
Painting the claws on this guy made a world of difference.
>>11910648He cute
>>11910648>>11910720Despite hating them in the movie, i quite enjoy the HC Mutadon because i can pretend it is a Skull Island creature
Would you believe that this was an azhdarchid toy if someone told you?

>>11911217
>>11910926After what they did to Daspletosaurus, I've jumped on board with the theory that they're just using AI to design new toys.
>>11911518>dasI jumped to that conclusion when I saw the newest play-line Dilophosaurus. Then again, by today’s standards one would think the original chaos effect line was designed by AI, technology anachronisms aside.
>>11909735Huh would you look at that
The blokees 1:35 Rex is out in the wild. some chinese collectors have got their hands on it
>>11913378The range of motion doesnt look as good as the Nanmu, but it still looks like a solid figure
>>11913378>>11913387Damn it does look good. It's proportions looked cartoony in the promo pics >>11909341 but this looks much better
Hardly seems like a modle kit, not that I mind.
>>11913378>>11913387Looks amazing! Preordered mine. I hope we get a Dilo or Galli eventually.>>11913416>Hardly seems like a model kit, not that I mind.Good, it's a build a figure like the larger Pokémon figures. It will feel like a figure instead of a model kit. Honestly, I wish they did this with all their stuff.
>>11910343Good to see you here broski
I find it funny how BoTM's albino Zuniceratops is far easier to get then the normal version
>>11912336>Punished Giga>After suffering what would have been fatal wounds, Giganotosaurus was left for dead as Rexy and Therizinosaurus went along their way. Memories of a time long gone by flooded Giga’s barely-conscious mind. Flashes of a time when his original form overtook and felled a tyrannosaurus swirl in his mind, mixing with the recent defeat, rage building in his form. In a hissing, hoarse roar, Giga rolls back to his feet, small scavenging carnivores fleeing as the nearly-dead Cretaceous titan looks about, the environment now dried and sunny. How much time had passed since his inglorious defeat? Hours? Days? His body ached, open bite marks along his spinal sail and limbs, piercing miniature wounds peppering his massive form. His belly throbbed as it desperately tried to digest itself as he hungered for any morsel of flesh. But the greatest pain, the truly searing feeling t that left no physical damage was the bitter shame at losing to the heir to his rival, who had won not by superior strength or guile, but by a stroke of luck that the blind Therizinosaurus happened to be cornering him simultaneously. Bitterness, hunger, and anger fueled his form, today would not be his end, there was vengeance he would need to seek out first…
I guess nanmui is doing an accurate Spino after the Trike
Got in my desert clan stuff for Cyberzoic. These are what I was most excited for and unfortunately it's a mixed bag. Looks stellar but the raptor armor is both restrictive on the body and won't stay on for any kind of posing or play. It's finicky and set up for photo or shelf only. I feel pretty forgiving because of how cool they look but very frustrating to actually handle them. I may glue the armor onto one of my sets just so I can I have one to mess with without having to track down tiny armor bits that bounce across the room every time I try to move the head.
>>11914698This is my favorite clan because the armor turns into creatures so i can just use them in that form and not have to bother with armoring up the dinosaurs
I love the minis but I ain't buying blind boxes guaranteed to not get what I want. If only they sold them individually even at a premium prize I'd be all over that line.
>>11915182I agree. I hate that random shit
>>11914342It's probably just me but honestly articulated Spinosauruses just aren't exciting to me. Thanks to the namesake feature, they're just inherently less flexible then either non-sailed members like Baryonyx or just other dinosaurs, full stop
>>11915153I'm actually mixing clans here, I think the raptor and dude in the photo are the only part of the desert clan released so far. But I agree the armor creatures are badass and I plan to get more of them and use them in my desert setup. I like what I've seen from the Desert clan, and I like the couple looks at civilian and general police clans. Also will be all over whatever they do for the water clan. Unfortunately all of this has just been art and lore so far, with just the one desert release.
>>11915703Oh i meant to say fire clan then. I think that's the one with the armor creatures
The Blokees figure looks great, but god damn does the JW Rex design get mogged by the JP Rex design.
>>11915738
>>11915738>>11915739I get the idea that she's old and malnourished but why did they have to change the shape of her skull?
>>11915820They did it to make her more purely sympathetic/heroic vs a threat. Not saying it was a good move, but clear intentioned.
>>11915827That's retarded but i believe it
>>11915837They did the same thing with the raptors for the same reason. Most of the dinos got makeovers to make them "cuter/friendlier" except for the obvious villain dinos.
>>11913378>>11913387>>11913416Are these quite delicate or brittle?
>>11915877That is so strange because the reason kids like dinosaurs is because they are big scary monsters that kill things
The nanmu Yangchuanosaurus looks great
>>11916194
>>11916194>>11916195I wonder what the paintjob would be. Yangchuanosaurus is one of the few dinosaurs that i like with bright colors purely because this image was my introduction to it
>>11915880They are more like build a figures rather than abs poly styrene model kits.
>>11914698>Looks stellar but the raptor armor is both restrictive on the body and won't stay on for any kind of posing or play. It's finicky and set up for photo or shelf only.god fucking damn it, I was hoping this would've been a great army builder fig
>>11918057Unfettered ass... at least Baryonyx has a better head and teeth
>>11918057For anyone wondering what the green fuck is, it's supposed to be Archaeornithomimus. Yes, really.Between pic related, the JW Evolution design and now the Hammond one, someone at Universal must HATE this guy.
>>11918057>>11918519They have the galimimus. Why not just fucking tweak it a little or give it feathers? Why create these monstrosities that either look like a Coelophysis rendered by AI or a generic badal Coelurosaur? Why is it so hard to make an ornithomimid look like an ornithomimid?
>>11918695I'm convinced JWE's Deinocheirus and Ornithomimus took all of the Ornithomimosauria budget and left the rest for dead
>>11918695>Coelophysis rendered by AIFuck you are right. The HC one does look like an AI dinosaur
Not sure what this is, but I want it

>>11914698>I may glue the armorSomething like Blutac or the more expensive museum putty you find at a big box hardware should work. It's designed to keep an expensive thing like ancient, fragile relics from shaking and falling down during say a tremor, so it should survive simple manual handlingAt worse, you will need to replace it on the regular.
Results are in and everyone thinks the armor is terrible. Even the positive comments are like "it looks cool but I'm never touching it again." Where are the shills now?
Now that the BotM Carnotaurus is sold out my only hope is a re paint and while everyone wants a red one, let me suggest another color. Now that I right it I realise how bad it would be considering that even big companies can't make white toys. But it would look dope for a few weeks.
>>11919809I only got the sabertooth tiger with armor and lizard dragon and thats fine for me, glad I skipped the rest
So apparently these are upcoming toys from Mattel. No clue if it's true but if it is, this might just be the most utterly random selection.>Notochelone>Moschops>Dracoraptor>Spinostropheus>Lokiceratops>Otogopterus>Heterosteus>Armadillosuchus>Zupaysaurus>Nyctosaurus>Valibonavenatrix>Yutyrannus>Lythronax
>>11919823>Now that the BotM Carnotaurus is sold outOn what site? It's still available on the creative beast site.
>>11919809It's crazy to me that people still support this company. I'm not being hyperbolic, the guys seem nice enough, and it's cool on paper, but for *years* these expensive toys were full of QC issues, bad paint jobs and terrible articulation engineering where despite having lots of parts they either didn't move well or couldn't stand etc. For every one good figure there were something like 5 bad ones and that's being kind. It wasn't until some of the later tyrannosaurus wave batches started coming out that they *started* to get a better handle on things. Now all of this armor and figures comes from a new factory and it's clear they haven't changed anything about the process of how they design their figures, which is to say that they make something digitally and barely test it out in person. No thought is given to how anything works in real life, with plastic toys. It's all hypothetical on screen computer style engineering, they probably do a couple of 3D prints and thing "ah it's not perfect but when it's in plastic it should be!" And call it a day. It's fucking embarrassing. It is easier to handle and play with a fragile hot toys figure with a bunch of small accessories that is obviously designed just for display than it is to handle and play with these. I genuinely cannot think of another toyline that costs this much and has this many problems. None of the mainstream lines that people bitch endlessly about come close to the amount of issues these have, and most of those are a fraction of the price. I supported this line for years and wish I had better things to say but man I am so fucking done with them. Glad to see Namnu and now apparently fucking Blokees are coming in swinging, hope one of them starts a dino riders line.
>>11919892getting real tired of you blokee fags shitting up the board with your shilling
>>11919919I'm not pro or against blokees but the rex looks nuts.Moreso I want the fucking faggot who didn't buy a single botm until post tyrannosaur wave came out who was like NO ACTUALLY THEYRE THE BEST YOU CLEARLY DONT OWN ANY to show up with his bullshit now.
>>11919844I keep being amazed at Mattel's ability to choose the most random species no one knows about
>>11919844 >>11920036I'm more amazed that Mattel will spend money on all these completely new molds time after time, like literally dozens per year, but barely anything has any actual play value or jurassic park feel. There should be more dino hunters/dino trackers/dino poachers, actual dino hatchlings not just shrunken down dinos, weapons, dino capture gear, etc but we hardly get any of that. It would be so easy for them to cut down output by 40% but actually make compelling toys instead of just spamming generic dinosaurs but they don't.
>>11919919You will learn to take Blokees mind, body, and soul into your heart as soon as you are cured of your BDS (Blokees Derangement Syndrome).
>>11920037I miss the Amber Collection
Mattel's New Legacy Collection Reimagined Rex.My resculpt is on the bottom. (I am not Marco Makes)
>>11920056You have no idea how much i wish the Hammond Collection was the only line they had and all the resources went there. Maybe it would be in a better state if that was the case
>>11920209Both are shit>>11920250I don't think everything needs to be hammond collection, they do have a fair number of sub lines that are compelling in one way or another. Like there's a new sub theme coming out with large chunks of magnetic dino damage and the dinos also have magnets in their mouth so they can literally rip flesh off of other dinos. Its a good idea, a good gimmick. But the pieces are too large so it misses the mark. But the idea is there. They just feel like they have no cohesive vision or thought put into things, and from what I know about toy companies these days I assume it's correct. A bunch of people randomly assigned small parts of a line that never interact with one another. And that's exactly how it feels. The toys don't feel like they're part of something bigger, it's literally just random fucking dinosaurs everywhere.
I'm no discerning toy critic but I think this and the Anurognathus accesory are the best of this year's reveals and that's just by default compared to highlighter Bary and AI-generated Archaeornitho
>>11920606Highlighter Bary is based but yes the rest of what you said is correct. I was excited for the chain accessory thinking they were actually daring to be creative but then I saw that it's just out of camp cretaceous or whatever.
Ordered this little guy, looking forward to see the might of BotM Ceratopsians.
Wish there was a line of retro-scientifically non-accurate dinosaurs.
>>11920461Fair enough. I do like gimmick toys sometimes. I guess what i meant to say is that i wish the quality the HC has (or i guess the quality it used to have) was the baseline
>>11920606It's strange that its coloration is so different from the one in the cartoon but it does look pretty nice.Since it seems they have decided to turn the tiny species into accessories, i would love to see things like compsognathus, microceratus, lystrosaurus and such as accessories
>>11920965I really like the BOTM ceratopsians. They really benefit from being quadrupeds
>>11920965I only have the juvie centro and it's pretty cool. Wish the adult centro had the same colors because I'm not a fan of the paint job on the adult. Kind of annoying to me that they made a juvie paint job that matched the adult, but not an adult that matched the juvieHonestly, that's one of my biggest issues with the BOTM line. Their paint jobs are VERY hit or miss, and when they miss, it makes you wonder what the fuck they were swinging at.
>>11920965Find it really funny that it's much easier to get the albino then the original
>>11921127Looks like I missed my chance to get best zuni. I always hoped they would make an armor set for small ceratopsians that I could upgrade them with. Come to think of it, Monoclonius and T-rex never got loadouts. Sad. I think what works about dino riders is the simplicity of the designs. They're all strapped with a harnesses that then has their armor built on top of that. Modular, brutalist structures, crowned with spikes and thrumming generators. Sadly the cyberzoic designs are just too fiddly and ambitious. If they followed the recipe on the box it could've turned out differently. I do like a lot of the armor they came up with in concept, but it seems to elude them how to make the armors fun to use.
Strange question but what's a good realistic alligator like tail that'd fit on a the ass of a Marvel Legend sized female figure It's fine if nothing comes to mind, I couldn't think of anything besides zoo crocodile toys but the sizes of those are always lies online
>>11921166>RealisticClosest you're probably going to get is the nanmu crocodilesThough, one that is on a 1/12th scale humanoid figure is the FuRay Planet Crocker figure. It's meant for something almost 8 inches tall, but that isn't a terrible scale against what, after checking the height of exactly one female marvel legends figure, is 6 inches tall. The tail would probably be a bit fat, but believable by comparison.
>>11921182Nanmu would be ideal by I don't wanna buy that just for the tail, and something more Hammond Collection would be fine too. I'm making a smallish gator in a robot woman suit so I need the tail sticking out and the head is somewhat realistic so it has to match
>>11921185Ah, fair enough. Don't have a good suggestion for you then. Good luck with it, though, anon.
>>11921149I've seen the original pop up on Ebay like once or twice but other then that, I only consistently see the Glow in the Dark Zuni on there and everywhere else, it's just the albino one. No clue why the OG's so hard to come across
