If anyone cares, Toys R Us in Japan is now struggling. First being sold to Don Quijote, then taken over by an Asian affiliateSauce: Asahi, Marketech
>>11913420They can't compete against Mandarake and other stores that are more "local."
>>11913422This. Its hard to beat places like BIC Camera, Suruga-ya, Mandarake, etc. There are a lot of toy and hobby stores in Japan.Although I am surprise to hear Don Quijote bought TRU, that seems a bit random. That would be like HEB buying Hobby Lobby.
>>11913422Can't make it here where nobody likes toys, can't make it in Japan where everybody does, sounds like they can't exist anywhere.
>>11913579Honestly the real problem is American toys, no one wants them not even Walmart hence why they shrink the ailses and dump it off to Ross. Star wars really did a number on them and thought going woke wouldn't make them broke. Its why Hasbro said the six films are what sell not the sequel trilogy
>>11913579 TRU actually has competition/saturation there. Every department and electronic store has a great toy department. Then there places like Kiddieland, Character Street, the Pokemon Centers, then Akihabara for the collectors. Toys R Us' only gimmick is how plentiful and spacious it is
>>11913420The real question is why did they consider to deploy in Japan in the first place? Like even convenience stores there sell gundam kits at probably much better pricing
>>11914603Toy culture is still strong there, so they can have all the toy stores they want. I assume TRU there is mostly for tourists, but they also have more space for domestic brands like we did, and also samurai stuff
>>11913420>If anyone cares
>>11913583Mitt Romney killed Toys R Us>WokeYou mean "non-whites and women". Mott Romney killed TRU, it is a documented fact. Facts don't care about your closet gay feelings.
>>11913583>sequel trilogyis asstrocious trash, glad Hasbro finally got burned enough to understand this. Even TFA, the most benign of the sequel films, was a remake cash grab, and people immediately saw that once the sugar rush of “more muh Star Wars” wore off in mid-2016.
>>11914904God loves you Diosoth.
>>11913583Ugh, more Boba, Vader and Stormtroopers again. I hate Star Bores
>>11913583BALLS
>>11915413Wait for the Starfighter series. It's everything but skywalkers and lightsabers.
