What's your opinion on NYCC? I usually go to SDCC, but mostly for the exhibit hall for the toys, any outside activities, and maybe one panel with no line.
i went 3 times. Fun the first time, not so much teh next years. As far as toys go, never bought anything. It's all over priced.
>>11918295Just me or have recent NYCCs not had as much new stuff shown as SDCCs? Feels like there used to be more
>>11919118The comic book companies used to be in NY. That's no longer true. SDCC has sucked up a lot of air since "comic" cons became TV and MOVIE live action predominant shit.
>>11918295I live in LA and even have a friend I used to visit once in a while, whose office was in the Gas Lamp so I would try to get a hotel there. But SDCC always seemed like an overpriced hassle and SD is mostly boring without extra tourists. NY always has shit going on and this time of year, the weather isn't disgustingly cold so I have always been interested in NYCC, but the schedule is never set advanced enough to make plans that don't make the cost absurd. By the time some artist or creator is definitely going that I want to meet, it's not worth the expense for the last minute reservations.
What ARE the NYCC /toy/ reveals? I saw the Mattel DC stuff and Jada is doing Darkstalkers, but what's Hasbro up to? Did they release anything in that supposed Tron line?
>>11920077comic con is gay and lame
>>11920077Hasbro has their panel tomorrow but it's 44 minutes long and supposed to cover all of their brands so I wouldn't expect a ton of reveals. Tron stuff for the 6" line is still on pre-order but I highly doubt it's going to get much else after those items ship. Especially if the release strategy is to force you to buy 4 figures at a time. That didn't seem to go over well with people. And both Ares and the HasLab failing clearly showed there's no real interest in the IP.
>>11919787I just want a reason to go to New York/Jersey. I always have to wait for some form of invitation, but I miss travel so much
Is Playmates doing anything this year?
>>11920240Nah, they're dead
>>11920246No they're not.
>>11920188Hopefully Hasbro has some cool stuff. I'd love some Tron figures from the first two movies.
>>11918295its shit
