>>11919247This will be my first and last Rewind, so you're obviously doing something wrong OP. Cope and seethe about it.
>>11919247Tooner means toy that never existed in the cartoon now, i guess. It truly is a magic word that means everything and nothing.
Why's OP always gotta be so pessimistic? The only thing he opens threads with is how he thinks everything is a scam
Blaster came with Eject and that's enough for me. Steeljaw was more than enough but the speaker was kinda cool. I have no inclination to buy Rewind or 5 randos with him.
>>11919264not if you buy the even better-er blaster in 2028 (now with 10% more G1 accuracy at the low low price of $50!)
>>11919274Think of the miserable types of TFW or TF twitter posters then realize the shitposters on /toy/ are even more ill-adjusted. He can't even include the pastebins like the good bakers.

>>11919283you can love transformers and hate what hasbro is doing with the brand. it's not hard.
WHY is mark maher so dogshit at making these things?
>>11919281In OP's image only a single character appeared in the cartoon. So I guess tooner means "torso and legs no longer made out of clear plastic".
>>11919296Genuinely aghast at how MW Starscream came out. Like he claims to be a MW fan and still fucked it up this big?
>>11919277Well that's exactly the thing anon...I wouldn't do that.
>>11919302what I don't get is why the head is a slight retool instead of a new tooling. it's just such a bizarre decision
>>11919247Alright, so they're clearly planning to release Rewind and Eject AGAIN using the """new""" Bolts mold, with the guns. Where are they going to fit them into?
>>11919247I will buy the cassette pack, thanks anon! They look like fun toys, especially the little scorpion guy.
>>11919257>2 new moldsYou can expect and Slugfest in the Decepticon pack.
>>11919302>>11919305Going forward it's going to be people praying their favorite characters are in Studio Series instead of being banished to "Mark's Sandbox".
>>11919296Maher has nothing to do with Studio Series releases.

Why the fuck doesn't Rewind have his guns? The mold already exists.
>>11919316>I wonder if decepticons have a whole bunch of cassetes and we will get another pack for deceptibrosFor sure thats the idea, hopefully we get overkill and slugfest.
>>11919302HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE TURBINE WINGS!!!! BULL. SHIT.
>>11919320>we make you buy Rewind a third time, goy!
>Aaron Archer signed off on this while he was TF's brand manager in the 2000sWhat did he mean by this?
>>11919321>For sure thats the idea, hopefully we get overkill and slugfest.if we will get a bunch of little dinosaurs i will go bonkerswhen they announced SS86 Devastator i knew it's the best time to be a tf-fan
>>11919316Decepticons need TWO god damn two packs of cassettesOne for the core six, as outside Laserbeak and Ravage? Rumble, Frenzy, Ratbat, and Buzzsaw are straight up impossible to find, have been subjected to obscenely shitty distribution issues, and in the case of Buzzsaw, only available with a long of of stock Soundwave no one bought due to no one wanting to quadruple dip on the Netflix mold. Then a second one to finally get us Slugfest, Overkill, Squawktalk and Beast Box, plus Enemy and Flipside or some new OC cassettes. But the first box set HAS to be the core six as we've desperately fucking needed the means to get all of them in one fell swoop.
>>11919313I mean, I'm curious what's going to happen with Generations come 2028Sure the price will be another 20% higher by then but it's the dumping ground for fossilizers and Timelines type of ideas then I'd like to see itEven just getting some new nonsense names in the leaks would be enough to spruce this place up some
>>11919333>>11919316>decepticon cassetes will have dinosaursI'd better go get ss86 Soundwave before normies will see that and he will become impossible to find
>>11919325He didn't need to sign off on anything, Takara has full control of the brand in Japan, they can do whatever they want.
>>11919333tripsBuzzsaw comes with 86 Soundwave and is a little easier to find now, so he's probably out. Likewise, I wouldn't expect Ratbat either based on Ramhorn not being in the Autobot pack. Maybe a recolor like Wingthing, based on the pattern. But my guess is Rumble, Frenzy, Garboil, Howlback and either Overkill and Slugfest, OR Beastbox and Squawktalk, but not both pairs. I wouldn't expect 4 new molds in one set....unless they just make the Squawktalk the Laserbeak/Buzzsaw mold...
Was Legacy Leader Soundwave into 86 Leader Soundwave one of the biggest scams in the franchise? Casette fans should be used to it
>>11919333>>11919354Keep in mind that Marvel Soundwave is coming out next year, and there's a 100% chance they do Soundblaster at some point. That ought to be 6 more cassettes, though I'd assume double dipping will cut into it some.
>>11919247How are these getting released cuz im a sucker for cassettes
>>11919355You tell me, I'm still debating which one to get.
>>11919359Fan channel exclusive.

>>11919283Why do you get upset when people say Hasbro's turds are stinky?
>>11919379There is absolutely no reason they don’t have elbows except to sell you another one in 10 years
Better not see none of you guys with that casette pack
>>11919379one has hands that fold in, the other has hands surrounded by cowlings. I think the idea is hiding the hands in cassette mode at all cost
>>11919247No ankle tilts in sight

Takara better make an improved Big Convoy
>>11919464takara better sug my fuggin wiener know what I'm sayin
>>11919320All the guns are stuck with the rest of the Jem packs new accesories. They would need to either reuse the design and tackle it on something else, or waste all the extra parts they aren't including. Also, what are the 8 accessories in the cassette pack? I only counted 7.
>>11919464an improved version of the original toy? yes please. Just keep 90% of the mold but make small changes.
>>11919474missing link big convoy
>>11919386I assume the Decepticon cassette pack will include a reissue of at least Rumble because good lord the aftermarket for that is insane. It's actually cheaper to buy Legacy United Soundwave just for Rumble.
>>11919473The only thing I can think of is the scorpion tail, it might use a peg to stay, but I'm not sure why since it looks like it can transform into tape mode with it.
Remake one day.
>>11919247Stripesbut not Nightstalker
>>11919340>>11919355>>11919361People seem to hate him and the gun is assembled wrong but honestly I like him a lot more than the Legacy/ER moldI already own DCS so I got the two best Soundwaves
>>11919484I smell a haslab
>>11919490I wish, but IIRC a chinese leaker who credibly leaks the MPG toys said the Haslab is Primus. And considering it's Mark who's designing it not Evan, I believe it.
>>11919247Who are these glup shittos.
>>11919489My problem with a lot of the Studio Series Movie guys is that while they are upgrades of the Earthrise versions, it's not enough of a change to justify getting the same guy in the same class all over again. I have a few of them, including Soundwave and can't help feeling like I got ripped.and I don't know what the hell they were doing with Laserbeak/Buzzsaw which is just worse for no reason.
>>11919490Not another Haslab Optimus...
>>11919494Half of them aren't even Glup Shittos, they're straight up OCs
>>11919498Laserbea/Buzzsaw and Ravage suffered in a few areas due to budget. Unlike the previous Soundwave, these were all new molds they had to include with Soundwave, and Soundwave himself received a number of improvements that put him above a regular voyager, so now the cassettes had to use whatever was left, with Ravage getting the lions share of the upgrades while the birds got screwed over.
>>11919490Economy in Condition Orange, all Haslabs postponed indefinitely, please understand.
>>11919494We've reached peak Geewun, we're now getting toys of characters that were deleted from old scripts.
>>11919521That's peak FunPub.
>>11919523No, peak FunPub is making an Action Master or an army builder deluxe that costs $100.
Nycc was a bust. I get having the haslab pulled at the last minute, but only showing off some exclusives was boring. Would it have killed them to show off some figures from the new line?
>>11919525You forgot to mess up the head sculpt
Honestly, considering Rewind is the only one we already got its a pretty good collection.
>>11919521I still don’t see any Throttlebots, do you?
>>11919538ThrottleWHOs? Season 3 doesn't real.
My Jetfire looks like he soiled himself :(
I'm looking forward to this pack. Glad to finally get Rewind and while I generally don't give a fuck about noncanon redecos, I'm fine with it when it comes to the cassettes. The more of them I can have stacked around Blaster or Soundwave, the better. Also, Stinger looks fucking rad.
At least its pretty much hidden in pants mode. I got another one ordered on Amazon with the hope it will be better
>>11919564Not as badly as the original who was always needing his diaper changed
>>11919566It's a shame that the connection is so archaic compared to the normal super mode. I know Jetfire has many mobbing parts, but the torso connection being pure friction is annoying when they had a dedicated button for it built into the super mode legs. Every time I have to undo the combination, I feel like I'll wear jt down.
>>11919567I guess I can pretend its re-entry burns to take my mind off it
>>11919568Its become easier over time... which may be a blessing or a curse in the long run
>>11919498>I don't know what the hell they were doing with Laserbeak/Buzzsaw which is just worse for no reasonSS86 may LOOK nicer in the softer cartoony colors for some but holy fuck is it a downgradeThey've done this before but why don't they just fucking do the MP Mold essentially
>>11919247We have transparent/smokey black Rewind and the Red SG one but this is the first actual solid color Rewind isn't it?
>>11919572Yeah.
>>11919571Right's better because it's more toy accurate like the original profile.
>>11919574no it's not.The only thing that's accuratte is the guns. The wings are totally off, and they blocked the front of the neck for some bizarre reason. All they had to do was reuse the seige engineering for a new mold and add the guns to that.
>>11919515I get that. But there was nothing wrong with the engineering on the seige version. They rebuilt him from the ground up for no good reason and hampered his articulation and put gaps in in cassette mode
>>11919576I can only assume it was either a parts count issue or someone wanted to "innovate" with a new take. But yeah, I don't like the 86 bird mold, it sucks in every way that matters.
>>11919578I take back the parts counts bit, because despite appearances, 86 has more, and that's before we count the accesories.
>>11919580Even Soundwave fucks up his tape deck mode. He's missing his whole bottom section
>>11919574>Like zero paint over all>Wings aren't all Grey/Silver>No Red spots on them>No Backpack at allI don't know man
>>11919581I get there's a little space in the back but outside that he's fineHell of a lot more stable than the ER one
>>11919484I imagine once or twice a year they have a discussion about how to do it. "More articulation? Completely new figure? Will people even buy this? Should we make the limbs transform to be more appealing?" And that's why it hasn't happened yet.
Should I get the Takara Jetfire to avoid yellowing? Or is it also fucked?
And don't forget. Because the body of the 86 Condor mold is fully painted (for Laserbeak and Buzzsaw), you can't even put them into Soundwave since the paint is so thick, I'll rub off on the tape door and potentially stain it, and good luck removing that without fucking up something else.
>>11919582The guns coming off is a feature.
>>11919589Well SS86 didn't come with it so

>>11919616Rails and the Anibots would be really neat. >>11919586Yellowing is a result of a chemical reaction the plastic has to light and sometimes its just a result of sweating while placed in storage. All white plastic yellows eventually some just do it quicker. Takara's release isn't using a different plastic.
>>11919625the best part was these same wiki editors getting pissed because people were asking questions to AVP deliberately to "game the system"apparently, it's only okay when they personally pull that shit.
>>11919624you passed.
>>11919620So what? Does being fan art make it a crime for me to call it lame and gay? You're lame and gay.
>>11919627That's debatable. Apparently, some of the figures that had yellowing issues didn't have them in Japan, like Jhiaxus, while others did that didn't have those issues, like Kingdom Magnus (apparently the wheels would turn green).
>>11919490They could make it in commander class
>>11919586Takara Jetfire as in the MP? He's a bit older but I have heard good. Does it yellow? >>11919480I think its safe to say we'll get Rumble and Frenzy but they're going to be cute about it and swap the names so Rumble will be red and Frenzy will be blue. Both go for a lot on the aftermarket and there isn't another way to reissue them for people that bought the recent SS86 Soundwave. Slugfest and Overkill make sense for the new molds. I would like Flipsides from the new Bolts mold but I think Howlback and Garboil are most likely. I would hate SG Ravage but I think that's a likely candidate too. It'd be such a wasted spot.
>>11919629Wasn't this in Alien too
>>11919640It was in Aliens. Its mistransformed.
>>11919637unfortunately, Hasbro looks to the wiki for information and the assholes know it.
>>11919638>they're going to be cute about it and swap the names so Rumble will be red and Frenzy will be blueBased on the autism I've seen on display from some fans, there are definitely people out there who prefer the comic/toy colors but who couldn't just use the red one as Rumble and the blue one as Frenzy without "permission" since the 86 versions explicitly call them Rumble (blue) and Frenzy (red). So these people (sadly) will 100% double dip and thank Hasbro for the privilege.>I would hate SG Ravage but I think that's a likely candidate too. It'd be such a wasted spot. It's a nice color scheme, but it's also Glit in all but name. So again...yeah, I could definitely see them doing that lol.
>>11919648>couldn't just use the red one as Rumble and the blue one as Frenzy without "permission"And the beauty of it is you also have retards who will be too autistic to just accept they can swap the names to their preference who will complain about Hasbro assigning them the "wrong" names.
>>11919650>Fuck you Hasbro! This was my big chance to finally get Frenzy and now I'm stuck with this stupid red Rumble!!Oh, 100%.
>>11919607I despise them simply because they are partly the reason for Energon (2004) continued bad reputation. Sure the anime is disappointing with a lot of potential never met and executed poorly but the character and toy designs are fucking solid, a big leap over the Armada toys but still held back by the time that they deserve remakes. And we're just not getting them because whoever is up at Hasbro or in the designer team just look at how negatively received the anime is on TFWiki and don't even give a second thought at making new toys from it.
>>11919650>>11919648Every day I count myself lucky I'm not that autisticAlso it's new toy time! I've got a few Earthrise Primes but I've never actually had a go with SiegeOut of the box first impression; he's kind of really floppy
>>11919662>Make Energon Megatron but make him a fucking Core Class>OBVIOUSLY sells poorly"Oh welp guess people don't want Energon"You can't hate the people in charge enough man>Could easily retool SS86 Long Haul into Energon Demolisher>Energon Hot shot is STUPID easy to make from numerous Car Molds since Legacy started>Energon Mirage could be made from the current Mirage probably easilyI fucking want Titan Omega Supreme or better A GOD DAMN ENERGON OPTIMUS THAT HAS HIS FUCKING GUN
>>11919668>>Energon Mirage could be made from the current Mirage probably easily???It's a boat. You want Prowl?
>>11919665that looks pretty cool..
>>11919668I feel like they don't know if they want to do powerlinx or not, but powerlinx was stupid and fucked up the toys
>>11919669Yea that's what I mean, I forget he's named Prowl but looks like a MirageWe'd never get Energon Omega Supreme as a Titan and if we did he'd be $240+ and missing like all the fun
>>11919662No we don't get more Energon because it underperformed compared to Armada and Cybertron back during release. Hasbro tried to ride the building success of RiD01 (Which was a surprise smash hit despite being a fillerline and does not get the recognition it deserves from Hasbro), and Armada. In 2004 fans were ripping it a new asshole and unlike Armada and Cybertron nostalgia for Energon is essentially non-existent online. Its remembered as the bad show. The wiki doesn't help with that but Energon is really fucking bad. The dub butchers Superlink too, which wasn't all that great itself but the dub makes things almost incomprehensible. There's additional engineering costs associated with the Powerlinx gimmick too. I do like the Energon designs and I would like figures but I don't see us getting them anytime soon.
>>11919356No fucking guarantee and again you are forcing people to quadruple dip. Or pay out the ass for a hard to find exclusive with shitty distribution for Ratbat.Just fucking give us all six fucking cassettes IE the only ones people give a shit about, in one god damn set and mass fucking produce it and make stores carry it. No more people being made to buy shitty $50-80 leader or commander reissues or recolors of Soundwave to get one cassette and two duplicates of Ravage and Laserbeak. Fucking let us get Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, and Laserbeak in one singular set.
>>11919671I think they could make it work if they tried but we know how they are now. But wouldn't you be excited for [MORE FRAMESLOP] but with Energon Bruticus and Superion half assed to shitImagine man. TWO Vortex and Brawls. But this time in Fruity Pebble colors wooooo
Energon Inferno is so much better than the other powerlinx molds that his best combiner buddy is a 2nd Inferno
>>11919668Maybe Long Haul is molded with Hook but even if he isn’t Demolishor would have no sauce
>>11919677And deny newer fans a chance to relive Munitioner and Explorer?
>>11919674>Just fucking give us all six fucking cassettes IE the only ones people give a shit about, in one god damn set and mass fucking produce it and make stores carry it.The average Redditors and ((collectors)) are fucking braindead droolin cucks and will double and even triple dip every single god damn timeI genuinely get drepressed seeing social media comments when stuff is revealed or goes up on pulse and these literal goycattle DAY ONE INSTANTLY pre order it regardlessThe worst releases imaginable and they flock to itSS86 Bumblee got infinite praise and tons doing that and then he drops and goes straight to clearance and deep discountsIt's wild how raped they are
>>11919674But the set coming with Ratbat, Ravage, Laserbeak, and Buzzsaw would be double dipping for me because I own all of those. I don't own Frenzy and Rumble and I'd rather get them with other things I don't own. I don't mind Ratbat but why would I want the three that come with SS86 Soundwave? Give me Slugfest, and Overkill.
>>11919668It's not Demolishor without his iconic explodes by merely existing arms.
>>11919685I don't think about you at all>pre-orders megabee because he looks cool and I have disposable income
>>11919686if Hasbro was smart (they aren't) they would make >Cassettebots - Decepticon Dominanceor some shit and have >Ravage>Laserbeak>Buzzsaw>Ratbat>Frenzy>Rumblein proper colors with proper accessoriesTHAT would sell even if you HAVE to make it $70 range. Don't make it a fucking Pulse only. Let it be on Amazon, Pulse, BBTS and othersThen do an Autobot one >Rewind>Eject>Steelpaw>Ramhornand whatever other twoTHEEEN you can do a 3rd that's [Glup Shitto Squad] or whateverYou can even STILL push Double dip by making these all SS86 stylization then do Set 1 and 2 AGAIN as like Toy or whatever other versionsYou could make 5 sets and milk them infinitely basicallyBut hasbro is genuinely ran by the most retarded motherfuckers imaginable
>>11919688>Gold/Brown plastic directly to translucent plastic>>11919691ACTUAL cucked retardInsane honestly
>>11919693I already have all the figures in the packs you made up.
>>11919694I hope you get help for your mental issues. I'll just enjoy my toys in the meantime and forget you ever existed.
>>11919693Why would it sell when a good half of the big names came with the most recent Soundwave? They do releases like this alongside new Soundwaves and Blasters for people that bought the recent Soundwave and Blaster. If you buy SS86 Soundwave you have Ravage, Buzzsaw, and Laserbeak. It would be absolutely retarded to have those three waste spots. If Rumble and Frenzy are in the Decepticon box it'd be because the two can't be reissued despite demand.
>>11919227I hope they use the mold again to make Toaster. How else are we supposed to get Blackcat?
>>11919686No one cares about the Dino cassettes but people still don't fucking have R/F or Buzzsaw or Ratbat
>>11919698No one bought SS Soundwave on pure principle. We just want the core tapes in one set.
>>11919662Also, Energon isn't even bad. I'm rewatching it and there's so much sick stuiff. The Wing Saber/Laserwave and Inferno internal struggle shit are both fucking K I N O
>>11919705>No one bought SS Soundwave on pure principle. It sold out quickly on most sites and now sells for 80 to 100 dollars on the aftermarket. It was one of the most popular releases of the year.
Love the new Cyclonus, I can see everyone was a fan of this mold. Very fun transformation.
>>11919693>Ratbat and RamhornIncluded with the new Perceptor last year, and he's difficult to find. >Frenzy, Rumble, SteeljawI wonder how they will reissue them since core class is dead>EjectWith SS86 Blaster>RewindIt was stupid to pack him with Twincast. A voyager repaint and a boring mold.
>>11919696No you fucking don't because numerous are in like 1 release only lolOr in wrong colors and styles
>>11919709Looks great with Galvatron and company too, though I'm sure a lot of people will complain about him being too tall.
>>11919709>Ruined the legs and back of the vehicleIt's not fairAll they fucking had to do was better colors for the Kingdom and NOT have it yellow
>>11919672He's got police decal, so he's a Prowl.
>>11919709I want to see the inside of your house. I need to know how/where you store all your toys. I had a second house for when I really collected amine statues but I've downsized to just one house and I just don't have room.
>>11919715Only in name. But just like Downshift was used as a stand in for Wheeljack anyone who owned Energon Prowl used him as a stand in for Mirage
>>11919665Geez, cracking that waist transformation is harrowing
>>11919665I really like the look of this figure but I feel like I have enough Optimus Primes.
I like Prime's big blue raspberry lollipop If he had ER's opening hands he might be able to hold it with both hands>>11919722Very fair
>>11919716I've got a few boxes in the closet, but most of it just goes on the shelves (which I'm admittedly in the process of reorganizing and paring down right now). My general rule is don't buy anything you're not actually going to put on display. I've definitely bought more than I should have on the TF front over the last year though and I'm trying to slow down with that everything else I collect. Best to confine yourself to a single lane or two with franchises this vast, otherwise it gets to be way too much.
>>11919718Prowl's whole thing is that he is the cop one. In G1 Prowl's the cop version of Bluestreak. In RiD he's the cop car. In Animated he's the cop motorcycle.
>>11919729Ah so you don't keep boxes? I know you from the marvel and Joe threads so was just wondering.
>>11919729Getting back into Transformers I can understand overbuying because modern figures get scalped really bad in terms of the latecomers tax. I get really bad FOMO that I don't feel with the other lines I collect.
>>11919605Might as well declare that Arcee has been ruined throughout all things while you're at it.
Are there any characters (with toys) that can be considered idol characters beyond Windy & Rosanna? I wanted to see who else I could pose them with once I get that Rosanna. (And Sixtrain from the aftermarket) Maybe form a unit with everyone and put the rest of my TFs as audience members.
>>11919736You should listen to his song
>>11919729Lol nice
>>11919734Isn't it fascinating how 20 something years ago Spotlight Arcee was viewed as offensive and dehumanizing but now is celebrated and there are people that demand it be canon across the entire franchise because it panders to certain fetishes?
Ermmm Wild Bros???
>>11919741No? They just like the "Arcee is trans" part, not Spotlight Arcee itself.
>>11919731>Ah so you don't keep boxes?I do for the big stuff like Trypticon (or that MOTO Sentinel to use a non-TF example), but not generally. It's way too goddamn easy to become a box hoarder with this hobby if you aren't careful. And I don't post in the Joe threads, but the toys seem cool so I'm not too proud to admit that couldn't change at some point kek.>>11919732Yeah, same. It's weird, I'm normally content to just stick to my niches with what I collect, but the power of cool robots will make me break restriction I have on toy purchases.>modern figures get scalped really bad in terms of the latecomers tax.And true, though sometimes you can get a good deal by waiting out the more obscure characters (which is what I'm doing with Swerve, Blanker, Joyride and Sureshot right now).>>11919738Ha, thanks. I was too lazy to do anything with the battle damaged/dead shuttle crew, so I figured they'd look good as a field of corpses for those two to duke it out in front of.
>>11919711They were easy to get.>Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsawcame with my Studio Series Soundwave>Ratbat, Ramhorncame with my Studio Series Perceptor>Frenzy, RumblePreordered them when they went up>Eject, RewindCame with my Blaster & Twincast I bought>Ramhorncame with that Perceptor I mentioned
>>11919747>And true, though sometimes you can get a good deal by waiting out the more obscure characters (which is what I'm doing with Swerve, Blanker, Joyride and Sureshot right now).Yeah for sure. I am trying to focus right now on going by each G1 year and collecting a figure for each character released that year while also updating older figures. Though I'm also grabbing the Armada updates as they release too.
>>11919484He should honestly be a Titan.
>>11919484>Combiner Wars Prime is molded as a reference to Energon Optimus>They do absolutely nothing with it. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad. I do think his proportions would benefit from the trailer turning into a frame though so its probably better they've waited to do him.
>>11919755The Japanese Unite Warriors set gave him a deco that made the homage more overt and picked autobots to put with him to evoke the drone colors.
Going to start to work on thisWhat should I expect?
>>11919745...that is exactly what he was getting at anon.
>>11919736The Cancer Titan Master from the Japanese Legends Shockwave release. According to the manga packaged with it he became an idol.
>>11919616I'm still convinced this guy was a misinterpretation of Sky Lynx's toy from before he released proper. Like, maybe they had a stack of photographs of the upcoming toys for the year, and someone saw Sky Lynx's head and neck popping up out of the stack but not the whole photo, and assumed his head was the cab of a bullet train and his neck was a whole snakey-body thing?
>>11919764Adorableness. Seriosuly, though, she's an easy build, especially if you have some experience with Gunpla or Girlpla in general. While she doesn't really need paint, she does greatly benefit from a little panel lining - also, you'll want to line her Autobot insignia on her shoulder with white, since it's just raised plastic with no color separation.
>>11919673I don't give a shit, just because the anime is bad does not mean the toys and design should be locked away never to be revisited ever again. If fucking Beast Machines still manages to get new toys and love in modern times in spite of the show's bad reception why can't Energon? Energon Optimus managed to get 10th place in that Masterpiece poll years ago. Granted that was many years ago but the fact he had enough votes to make it in the top 10 despite having the reputation of being fat thanks to his original toy says something. Everyone wants a new Energon Optimus, he's a fucking Megazord Combiner and everyone loves that shit. Just give him an additional transformation 'mode' to slim him down while in core robot mode while retaining every other non-electronic gimmick and that should be enough for most people.>There's additional engineering costs associated with the Powerlinx gimmick too. I do like the Energon designs and I would like figures but I don't see us getting them anytime soon. And that Powerlinx gimmick is on like what? 8 figures? That's only a quarter or less to the rest of the toyline that don't use the Powerlinx gimmick and are deserving of a remake. Get me a new Energon Landmine, or a new Starscream even.
>>11919668>>Make Energon Megatron but make him a fucking Core ClassThat was an interesting choice, it's like they were actively telling me not to give them money. Why doesn't Hasbro want my money?
>>11919813Blackrock and Vanguard collectively owning 1/3 of Hasbro should have been a good enough indicator to not give them any of your money
>>11919814I'm pretty confident in saying I've given Hasbro less money than anyone in this thread who actually buys Transformers.
AND ULTRA MAGNUS?WE COMIN' FOR YOU, NIGGA!
>>11919737This should have been Blaster.
>>11919821I got that reference
>>11919836Blaster is fine just helping.
>>11919638SG Ravage is basically Glit. So there’s no point to do that one.
>>11919605>>11919607>when I force more trannies into canon|:)>when someone else forces more Go-bots into canon|:(
>>11919864Shave that unibrow already
God dammit, despite the very lackluster individual Predacons and hefty price I was really debating getting this soon, but it turns out the fucker yellows out of the package almost immediately. What the hell are they using at these factories, man...
>>11919673>>11919662I imagine the other hard thing is so much of Energon was basically partial G1 homages, which makes them hard to stand out. There's a ton of badass and awesome original designs in it like Landmine/quake, but who wants the Energon combiners over the G1 versions? People were making them more G1 like even 20 years ago with the upgrade kits.
>>11919274There's some guy who is obsessed with both always being the OP and farming (you)s by being an obnoxious faggot about everything. Then he'll call you a shill or tooner over whatever he's trying to complain about. And no, he doesn't have any toys himself and will steal images from other sites (and mirror them as if he'll fool anyone) to keep the bait going as long as possible.
>>11919801>If fucking Beast Machines still manages to get new toys and love in modern times in spite of the show's bad reception why can't Energon?Does it? The last Beast Machines homage we got was that Core Class Cheetor the same year as Core Energon Galvatron. Technically there was T-wrecks but that's not show BM and a easy redeco of MegatronThe last one in retail before that was Tankor all the way back in Thrilling 30. And that was was so small it was basically pointless. >>11919813It's no replacement, but it was a fun figure. I miss core class.
>>11919895We actually had an Energon Combiner that would have stood out if they made him properly. Nexus Prime. I mean I know its a repaint from Energon but close enough.

>>11919917They started dying long before the whole performative dei measures, it’s just more of the same weak characters and writing coming to an inevitable conclusion.
>>11919801>And that Powerlinx gimmick is on like what? 8 figures? Its more or less all the non-basic Autobots so its nearly half the line. About 17 that interact with each other, a few that interact with just Optimus, and then one or two that interact with just each other like Mega-Dinobot. Landmine and Ultra Magnus are more or less the only two large-scale characters that don't interact with the rest of the line but Landmine still has an armor-system with his trailer and Ultra Magnus was a toy-only G1 repaint of Armada Overload. They know it won't sell all that well, and they know people don't want compromised Energon figures so we wait. Also we're not getting Beast Machines. We aren't even getting Strika and she appeared in two other shows.
>>11919570Does anyone actually think this looks good or is buying it more of something to do just to do it?
>>11919950better than anything g1 ever shat out thats for sure

>>11919672Damn I regret selling my Energon collection
>>11919836You mean Rodimus, right?
>>11919954more like a little chunkimus
>>11919949The ones that only worked with Optimus would be fine in theory
>>11919950Yeah people like it what the fuck kind of question is that
They better do it
I was going through energon toys and found this repaint. Is this seriously the only Thunderclash toy we ever got after the original?
>>11919954Why Rodimus, just for the trailer? If you're going to make it anything that isn't Optimus but matches colors, Blaster makes more sense due to the whole music thing.I'm fine with it being Optimus though, way more iconic for a novelty crossover.
>>11919965also this repaint guy is cool. I love the idea of a rocket truck for Rodimus
>>11919965Makes me sad, Thunderclash was my first transformers after a KO Landcross and would love a new one based on the original toy.
Skybound just revealed Megatronus Rex. They'll probably retool Megatronus.
>>11919968I was actually thinking I feel bad for kids who had that toy and grew up to be longtime fans but I didn't say anything lol. For me my first vehicle Prime was Laser Prime so I'm not exactly that much luckier but they try I guess...
>>11919970>They'll probably retool Megatronus.Well, at least this time he'd fit the mold. I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking with the Unicron Soldier.
>>11919970>When you take the idea if shoulder cannons literally Neat. The colors remind me of an animated Megatron recolor too but its probably just a coincidence.
>>11919975>For me my first vehicle Prime was Laser Prime so I'm not exactly that much luckier but they try I guess...You're luckier than me - my only Optimus Prime ever was Hero Prime. Didn't get another until Earthrise decades later, long after I had given him up.
>>11919980I wish Hasbro would do this guy justice, I've always loved the ICBM truck.
>>11919980We're getting a 3rd Party legends scale one from mechanical skull studios eventually. They showed off a prototype awhile ago. I love that he has the same pump missiles as Laser Prime too that guy was loaded with gimmicks and the gigantic missiles were my favourite.
>>11919975I grew up with Car Robots and UT and while I do like those toys I'd rather we didn't get retreads of those figures much like most from then. Not everyone has the same autistic nostalgiabrained attachment to this series that certain CHUG collectors do. I'd prefer getting actually new and cool shit
>>11919821Lol, based. We need more wrestling references in this general.Pic possibly related.
>>11919970So he does turn into a cannon for Devastator? That's awesome.
>>11919970I prefer this to galvatron again but after several issues of buildup this is so anticlimactic. he's just bigger Megatron.
>>11919965there's also this thing
>>11919988>he's just bigger Megatron. What were you expecting, Deathsaurus?
>>11919672The logic thread of Energon Prowl being a racecar is that Machine Wars Prowl was a racecar and that was one of the more recent Prowls at the time
>>11919961I think we'll get him at some point but they're still doing the guys that combine with Armada Prime. I think they'll do the Cybertron trio next, then Energon last. But that's just me. Cybertron would be easy though because Leobreaker doesn't need to be a Commander-class figure.
>Acoustic Wavelength old chap, those incorrigible roustabouts are planning to dash dear leader's plans for seizing strategic energon sources, and that unscrupulous fiend is once again planning an underdeveloped coup d'état.>Er, squeak scree and so forth
>>11919966Because the bot and alt mode both fit RodimusPlus he would’ve looked better with a flame chest and yellow back wings
>>11919996I think the real shame is they should have just done Jetfire with the original Valkyrie design but clearly no one wanted to touch that can of worms.
>>11919992no, Megatronus
>>11919992a new design that was appropriately monstrous considering he ate like 75% of his underlings' souls
>>11919999He only ate Trailbreaker, you aren't even reading the book you retard
>>11919970>>11919987>Megatron that turns into a minigun for combiners>Still a gun>Won't upset realistic gun toy laws
>>11919996>Because the bot and alt mode both fit RodimusThis. I own the guy, and every time I look at him, I'm more and more convinced that he was originally intended to be Rodimus from the start before being tweaked into Optimus - you're pretty much just a head and chestplate swap away from him, and that trailer is pretty damning. That being said, Blaster would also have been a good fit, if only because he pairs better with Basara's whole music theme and is already the correct color scheme.
>>11920000I thought the implication here was that he'd done the same to these dead cons

>>11920017
>>11920019Spiked pasties, but close enough!
>>11920017Unbelievable. A customizer that can actually apply paint properly. I see way too many kiddies that glob-on unthinned/unairbrushed craft paint and call it a custom.
>>11920025Thanks! I do a lot of TF customs, some good, some not so good. I think my favourite (aesthetically at least, functionally she's a little wobbly) is Beet-Papil/Cherrybomb here, who's based on Windblade with Mavs' printable kit and way too much time in the airbrush booth.
It warms my heart whenever I see a little respect being put on Energon/Super Link. Anime aside, it’s a better toyline than basically everyone gives it credit for and aside from a few toys with an awkward, but still fun, gimmick. As a whole it was better than Armada IMO. Even those Powerlink toys at least had a basic level of articulation we’d come to expect from Beast Wars/RID. Can’t say the same for Armada.
>>11920004Death is so weird in these comics, sometimes they're dead forever? Sometimes they're not? Jetfire was dead-dead then they made him a living plane, then he was okay again? Ratchet is dead, until he isn't? Starscream blew his own head off and all it did was kill off his heel-turn instantly? Slingshot is just gone now? Trailbreaker is "this is totally a real, permanent death this time we swear!" dead? Bumblebee is missing his face but he'll be fine sooner or later?
>>11920032>Starscream blew his own head off and all it did was kill off his heel-turn instantly? To be fair, Starscream dying and coming back isn't anything unusual in the franchise. That's like being shocked that Optimus dies and comes back all the time.
>>11920033True, but undoing his heel-turn was the weird part>I am Ulchter!>*blam!*>Okay I'm Starscream again
>>11919918The whole board used to be a lot faster, so /tfg/s wouldn't pile up in the catalogI do remember threads sticking around for days beyond image limit, but people wouldn't mind as much because discussion was still good
>>11919836I think he works best as a Convoy rather than Optimus, if that makes sense. My silly handcanon for him is that he's a Convoy leading a scientific expedition to study a weird energy spike that turns out to be a space portal reacting to the Macross' universes Fold energy, he gets sucked in after saving the rest of his crew after using his Matrix, and is stuck in a sci-fi truck alt mode and in a scrapyard for awhile. He gets picked up for cheap as a tour vehicle by Fire Bomber American, and he's forced to listen to them bastardising Fire Bomber songs on their tour. There's an attack from a Zentradi pirate band towards the end of their tour, and it's not until the Fire Bomber American knockoff Basara refuses to try and sing to culture shock them that Convoy is able to muster up enough energy to transform and try to save everyone. As Convoy is acting as a shield to try and save the crowd of people who came for the performance, and FBA have just ran off to save themselves, the real Basara just nonchalantly appears with his acoustic guitar and starts singing Power to the Dream, Convoy's Matrix reacts to Basara's singing and spiritia, causing the miraculous transformation into Basara Convoy and his VF-19 alt mode. With his own guitar, and his speakers amplifying everything, the duo rock out until the Zentradi can't fight anymore.Basara and Convoy have a little moment together once the day is saved. Basara walks off into the sunset, and Convoy flies off into the skies, detecting a strange energy reading, hoping it'll either be the way home, or something where a Convoy is needed to make a difference and save the day.
>>11919996>>11920003Almost nobody gives a shit about Rodimus when compared to Optimus, they would have been fools to choose him instead of the most iconic character for this crossover.
>>11920040But do you own the figure?
>>11920031Detractors are right that most of the deluxe/voyager autobots are janky and that it's the black sheep of the trilogy, but it had its strong points regardlessI've always loved Fat Convoy and Landmine and all of the little scout-class guys that came with energon weapons. Also the fact that many of the new molds still had minicon pegs for cross-compatibility with Armada
>>11920028Stellar job. The eyes are supposed to have that 'glow' effect, right?
>>11920045Yeah I do, he's cool. It definitely tries to do too much so it can also be a dodgy truck and advertise 7 modes but the guitar, the windows opening to reveal the speakers, and the trailer stage are super fun, and they nail the face sculpt for him too. I put a deposit down on the DNA kit to give him the speaker shoulders too, I think they'll really help with the overall look, and I guess the Sound Booster is fine too. It'll definitely never happen, but I would love if he got a matching VF-17 Nightmare collab toy, or even just a Nemesis Prime recolour, I'm a big enough fool to buy this toy twice if they did that.
>>11919985The difference here is that many RiD and UT toys don't need updates as much as some G1 designs. Wanting a Thunderclash that can move his shoulders and knees makes perfect sense and goes beyond just nostalgia.
>>11920051>don't need updatesThe characters getting updated were cool until it started encompassing the entire franchise and pushing it further towards stagnation. Now I'd just rather literally anything else at this point.
>>11920038Yeah it's really not our fault that /tfg/ is 1 of maybe 5 threads on the board that are actually active, we shouldn't have to sit at image limit and be unable to post toys. There's 6 DC generals right now too. Anyways I'm not sure if this is goofy or the coolest shit ever.
>>11920051To me the only RiD01 toys that absolutely need updates are the Build Team and Team Bullet Train. They're ambitious combiners who need modern engineering to sell the concept. I would really like Spy Changers that can articulate too but I think the appeal of those figures is that they're pocket sized Hot Wheels-styled cars that transform so its not really necessary. For everything else the issue is more age. I wish they could just reissue the Car Brothers because they're really solid toys hampered by disintegrating clear plastic. My three childhood copies are barely holding on to life right now.
>>11919985>I grew up with Car Robots and UTSame. I had my Primals but RiD was my first Prime. Then Bendy, then Cybertron and so on and so forth until today I feel very fortunate to have grown with the franchise in the way I have. A wee baby child watching Beast Wars on tv, but still having a few G1 VHSs so I was still familiar with the originals'96 to '06 feels like their was such a breadth to the franchise'07 to '11 was when I starting coming into my own money and I don't think it's controversial to say that's when the toys were at their peakAll this to say, yeah, I also prefer when we get new and cool shit>>11919998Megatronus is kinda the one that did this to him. Did you want a possession?>>11920048We can all agree that Landmine is an all-timer, but I'd like to see more respect for Starscream. Even the 3P have been skipping him, even though he has just as many play features as the other two UT Screamers
>>11920049Thanks! Her eyes are just silver coated with a clear yellow; I didn't have any good clear resin when I printed the parts or I would have given her light piping. I think the "glow" effect is some yellow clear that spilled outside the lines a bit. Whoopsie!
>>11920055>but I'd like to see more respect for Starscream.Dude, same. I got him for a good price complete not long ago and he's unironically a great toy. In fact I think out of the original UT Starscream toys his has aged the best. Armada is a (handsome) brick and Cybertron's arms are a bit stumpy and useless. Meanwhile Energon has full modern range outside of wrists, waist and ankles and he looks incredible IMO. Makes a great "revenant" ghost Starscream with his semi-physical look.
>>11920057It happens. Though you can always pass it off as eye-glow like mini-painters do.
>>11920053Yeah it's sad but what're you gonna do?Transforming robots are basically all I do these days and if I wanted to post, like, Brave, I could post it in here and get yelled at by our loudest autists for being off topic(you and I both know Brave is Transformers adjacent) or I could start a new thread and get the same small amount of engagement only now with necrobumpingAnd yeah I never cared for the Optimus + Omega Supreme combination, also felt like less than the sum of it's partsWould rather have that or just keep them separate and have Omega alone with Optimus still combined with Wing Saber?
>>11920048Therein lies the problem. Energon/Super Link gets dismissed because of the Powerlinx Autobots, which make up only 1/5th of the toyline, and I’d argue that only a couple of those are even bad toys. There are close to 60 other good Energon toys that get ignored simply for their association with those few awkward Autobots and a bad dub. It’s just a shame is all.
>>11920055>I'd like to see more respect for Starscream.I think the issue is that of the three UT shows Energon's version of Starscream is typical viewed as a low point for the character. Its a really great design but people tend to remember Energon Starscream for being a cheap toy cashgrab that the show did nothing good with.
>>11920067>if I wanted to post, like, Brave, I could post it in here and get yelled at by our loudest autists for being off topicThe trick is posting both.
>>11920051But they don't do Thunderclash, hell they hardly do anything outsideover of S1 S2 + 86 movie guys over and over. I would've like to see them try to make an accurate Savage Claw Mode at least once in 20 years.
>>11920055>We can all agree that Landmine is an all-timer, but I'd like to see more respect for StarscreamI'll be gutted if we don't get an Energon Starscream update to go with the other two. Enegon was such a cool take on a G1 Starscream with the half-ghost translucent plastic look. It helped a lot too that he reused G2 Smokescreen's transformation, which was probably the best jet transformer we'd gotten by that point.
>>11919970I like the missile launcher shoulders.
>>11920052I would love to see them do something new if the new shows weren't garbage with bad toys.
>>11920079I wanted that toy after you posted that Pic the first time then saw that's the only good angle if it lol.
Nobody is going to convince me Tow-Line, who incorporates the Powerlinx gimmick in a unique way while being a tribute to G1 Ironhide/Ratchet, is a bad toy.
>>11920072>which make up only 1/5th of the toylineEnergon had 6 size classes and 74 mainline releases. The Energon Class was small scale figures. There were 26 figures released in this class. Two of these were re-releases of the Starsaber and Perceptor. 14 had a combining gimmick. That's 53%Combat class had 19 figures. One was Kicker so putting him aside because he can't even transform that's 18 Transformers. 12 of them had a powerlinx gimmick. That's 67% of figures.Mega class had 14 figures. Treadbolt (A redeco of Armada Scavenger) is the only Autobot who does not combine. 9 of these 14 figures have a combiner gimmick and one is essentially a Quintesson statue. That's 64%.Command class had 7 figures. One is a redeco of an Armada Autobot, one is redeco of Armada Tidal Wave, and then Landmine/Landquake and Bulkhead/Quickstrike are redecos of eachother. Two combine with older toys but not with Energon toys. None of these figures combine with others, 0%, but Landmind and Bulkhead's molds however do include specialized armor pieces. Leader Class has three figures. One combine with others. Prime and Megatron/Galvatron. 33% of these figures have a combining gimmick. Supreme Class has three figures. Omega Supreme and Omega Sentinel share a mold, Unciron is an Armada re-release. 66% of these figures have a combining gimmick. 26+18+14+7+3+3=7114+12+9+0+1+2=3838/71=54% of the toyline. If you were to take out the Armada repaints that number would climb pretty quickly. I did not include exclusives in this count but I don't think that would change anything. Its hardly 1/5th of the line. It was a wideline gimmick.
>>11920096>74 mainline releasesI had counted wrong initially I think it should be 72 actually my bad. But still, the line is combiner heavy and they shouldn't go back to it unless they commit. I don't want cheap repaints.
>>11920095Energon showed G1 a ton of love, in a way it was the first celebration toyline
>>11920102Its cuz it came out on the 20th anniversary of G1.
>>11919874hey unibrows are cool
>>11920096You're talking all combiners while I'm referring specifically to the top-bottom Powerlink Autobots though, which is what people generally have an issue with. Of those there were 16, so 21%, roughly 1/5th of the line.
>>11920096Superlink really was the better name.
>>11920109It's just a combination of two english names, it didn’t need to be changed. And definitely not for the hyper generic "Energon"
>>11920055>All this to say, yeah, I also prefer when we get new and cool shitNot even for my sake, but for the next generation of fans really. It feels like Hasbro has no idea how to actually make anything to bring younger fans in. The only thing they had made in years that could have done that was Reactivate and that got nipped in the bud. I'm convinced they want Transformers to become a legacy/boomerslop brand
>>11919980>Do VNR Optimus>And Target>And Holiday>Just never go back for the most obvious retool
>>11920115Target was G2 Prime, wasn't it?Regardless, it is surprising they haven't done Hero Prime out of the mold. Retool the legs and it'd work pretty well.
>>11920017Still one of the worst molds in Legacy for sure
>>11920112I've been saying for years that they need to put their whole ass back into a cartoon line. This goes back to RID15, which does have some fun designs, especially the 'cons, but was basically abandoned by Hasbro in favour of Prime WarsThis goes for Cyberverse and Earthspark and Cyberworld, tooThey're certainly not the most popular shows but I'm sure they'd be more well received if they had the suite of deluxe, voyager, and leader toys that every other show prior had
>>11920095To this day I STILL want a Black/Grey repaint like 07 Movie stockade and the Greyish Energon Weapons like the Energon Starscream hadI want FBI Party Van so bad
>>11920108Except Powerlinx was the wideline name for combining not just the pants/shirts and just about over half the line has that gimmick. ALL the major autobots short of Landmine and Bulkhead have that gimmick. Nearly all of the characters people would want, like say Hot Shot, Jetfire, the G1 guys, and Prime have that gimmick to some degree. They can't revisit Energon without addressing that just like they can't revist Transmetals without addressing the vac metal parts.
>>11920127>they can't revist Transmetals without addressing the vac metal parts. This logic is retarded because Hasbro has been releasing Transmetal 2 revisists just fine.
>>11920127How many times have they revisited g1 without die-cast, spring-loaded missiles or motors?
>>11920127>autist vs colloquialismWhen people say "the powerlinx gimmick in Energon" no one is talking about Optimus or mincons100% of the time they mean the shirt and pants combinations. Which unless my count is wrong is limited to 10 molds and their redecos
>>11920124I thought this was one of those news vans
>>11920131Not a single one of those gimmicks defined G1 as much as the Superlink gimmick defined Superlink. It's the name of the toyline, for fucks sake.
>>11920122The problem was they had spread the line too far at the time. From 2008 to 2015 we had>Movie toys>Animated toys>CHUG>Various smaller lines like Crossovers and those drone combiners over the years>MasterpieceWallets were stretched too thin so they prioritized movies and CHUG but then movieshit kind of trickled out and Cartoons never went back to being a focus. I do think they need a high-profile cartoon like Prime or the UT again but at this point it seems like CHUG is the backbone of the series moving forward.
>>11920127I know the Powelinx name is all over the toys, even Landmine and Bulkhead, I'm not disputing that. My point is that you don't see people complaining about Super Mode Optimus, Omega Supreme. or even the Energon Combiners much. All of those are technically Powerlinx but detractors tend to specifically focus on the shirt/pants combiners, which make up about 1/5th of the line and dismiss the rest. I just think it's a shame that people overlook everything else good about the line because of the bad perception of one part of it.Also, I'm not taking about potential redos (though I'd love to get some) but rather the original line, which I think gets unfairly maligned.
I mean when the main autobot cast is considered "Fatimus Prime and the shirt pants guys" I can see why they'd never touch it, regardless of how much of the toyline it actually was
>>11920133Except the toyline disagrees with you faggot.
>>11920095Don’t forget that his vehicle deco and head sculpt are based on G1 Skids as well. I unironically think the Energon toyline is great, I just think the Anime is very much a letdown in comparison >>11920117I’m shocked Takara never made G2 Magnus out of the Laser mold>>11920127Having two different gimmicks with the same name was a really bad idea, I personally refer to the combiners as “Superlinx” in order to differentiate them
>>11920151...that Optimus is a shirt and pants combiner though?
>>11920151That Optimus is a shirt/pants combiner you retard.
>>11920151>actual moron doesn't even know the toys he's arguing about
>>11920153>Don’t forget that his vehicle deco and head sculpt are based on G1 Skids as well. That too.
>>11919980>>11919982You know the thing that pisses me off the most? Way back in Legacy, at the very start of the livestream that they announced Titan Nemesis in, they literally had this toy sitting in front of the camera, as if they were teasing a possible modern release of him after all the comments about Volvo Prime being the perfect mold for an update. But lol nope - sorry guys, we were just being random!
>>11920141Yeah, that's the other side of itHasbro seems to be doing the opposite of what I hoped by giving the two Generations lines stronger individual identities rather than merging them into one line
>>11920031>>11920143Man every time you post these pics I get so tempted to pick some of them up but I'm so autistic about wanting to own the "true teams," i.e. I love Inferno but have no interest in any of his Superlink partners. Same for Overdrive, but I don't care about Downshift at all, so I never end up buying any of them.
>>11920088>>11919979There are definitely logistical issues to a shoulder joint sharing space with rocket tubes, especially ones that big, but.. yeah, that's rad as fuck. Iron Kong me up, Megatron. Though I will say, as cool as railguns are, they will never quite have the same impact as a booming ballistic cannon or VWOOMM wave beam gun.>>11919975>>11919980it just now occurred to me, my first vehicle prime was the one that came with Chainclaw, and then I donated that to a new poor family in the neighborhood, since all I wanted was the wolf.wow, in the process of looking up that toyline, I see that the wiki has Lionblade as a 'they.' despite.. being a maned lion. Are we still tolerating them and saying 'it's not so bad, it won't get any worse' or..Oh wow, they're using that for Chainclaw, too. Can we get like a ... conservaTFwikia going?
>>11920061different customizer herei bought some luminescent paints, but now I want some luminescent white to go under them. but so poor... why aren't there like, toy customizing grants? It's more useful than people doing weird abstract public sculptures, and a lot cheaper.
>>11920129yeah plus they can just use really, really shiny paint.
>>11920108I wish they remake this guy. He is the best rendition of Rodimus ever
>>11920185I want to like the Adamas Machina but the shoulders look so stupid
>>11920185>>11920108God I love himI still eye up the Police one when it hits Manda sometimes
>>11920193i like the shoulders, but the problem is they're way WAY too close together and narrow and tapering upward like that.. they should be significantly further out. like this.
>>11920207Ah that is much better
>>11920210GOD I wish I could work at a toy company, fixing tiny mistakes like that. It's always just some teeny, tiny thing. like lio convoy's legs..
With Megatron and Swoop as the SS wave 1 leaders next year, how are they juggling IDW Fort Max, Marvel Soundwave, and the new 07 Optimus?
>>11920174I get it. Bulkhead is the weak link of that particular team for me. I got Super Link Wheeljack only because he’s Wheeljack and then only got Overdrive because I found a cheap listing on Mercari for him and Skyfire, which is who I really wanted, but he ended up being by far the better of the two and one of my favourite EN/SL toys overall. Still haven't gotten Bulkhead/Sprung though. If you are looking for a little team to get then I’d highly recommend Demolishor and Snow Cat. They're both good, no nonsense, fun toys.I’d also recommend Inferno, he’s a decent solo toy.
>>11920218Never watched TLK but that looks pretty good. Colors are a bit drab though.
>>11920218such a silly lil dragon.. could have been so much better, but could have been a lot worse, too.
>>11920218Er... wave 2 or 3.
>>11920221>I’d also recommend Inferno, he’s a decent solo toy. He's one of the few I've considered solo, at least of the Powerlinx guys.
>>11920221
>>11920224I mean, the fact that they acknowledged his intended dragon mode at all is already more than I expected. Still gonna wait until I see how the physical toy looks, but he's on my watch list - I've been debating on whether or not to pick up the old Voyager, since I never owned any version of his TLK incarnation before, but depending on how this new one actually looks, I may just grab this instead.
>Adamas machina Star Saber looks fantastic.>It will also use diecast and an assload of paint. They always have to fuck something up with these expensive figures.
>>11920233indeed. You can really tell that there's like, there's guys working there who know exactly what we want, and have good taste and good ideas... and then what we get is that, filtered through idiocy and budget strangling, and sold alongside the-same-thing-except-dumb-guys-designed-those-ones
>>11920235diecast is awesome though, r-right?
>>11920235Paint is fine as long as it doesn’t chip
>>11920245It's normally not a problem, but if a figure is covered in it, and it also needs to transform, you'll need to be extremely careful while handling it. When AM Predaking came out, one of the two complaints I saw was how easy it was to bump into something and chip the paint, the other...>>11920244Was diecast joints being loose, and most methods to tighten it barely work, or are temporary compared to plastic.
>>11919985I did not grow up with them (nor am I a fan) but I really like Hot Shot so I'd like a better one than that Legacy mold.
Diecast is the biggest lie ever told to toy collectors. It's the cheapest, shittiest metal money can buy, crammed into a toy to artificially bump up the cost. There are literally no benefits to it and even when used in the only remotely acceptable way, inserted into feet to give the figure a more stable base, it still causes stability issues for things like kicking poses.
>>11920268But muh cold touch technique
>>11920259oh, yeah.. diecast needs to have something inside the joint sockets.>>11920268that makes no sense for at least three reasons.
>>11920269The amount of damage that spergy brown fat fuck has done to collectors community with these shit memes should be studied
>>11920218>and the new 07 OptimusAight so we're going through bayverse again, will hasbro be brave enough to re-release the wiggerbots from RotF?
>>11920270thank you for not wasting our time elaborating on those reasons
>>11920268Optimus Primal said it was a lost art 30 years ago though
>>11920245You can't convince Transformer fans that, they've been boiling frog'd for years that less paint is better, remove all paint. Now even Masterpiece toys are paintless.
>>11920286>gazing lovingly at MP BW Megatron and Dinobot with their many panels and pristine paint
>>11920168Personally I don't really think we'll ever get a proper cartoon line again so I'm happy with a more experimental line and a media line. Kids don't watch cartoons like they used to and adult collectors can be hooked without one. Cyberworld is barely drawing in an average of 200k viewers per episode despite being created for ADHD screen zombies. I think 2028/2029 will be spotty but once they find their footing and the split is in full force I think there's a lot of potential.
>>11920168I talked about this a little bit a couple threads ago, but I’m shocked Hasbro isn’t trying to make Transformers more like their other toylines and combining everything under one roof with consistent engineering. That way you could do both nostalgic toys and tie-in toys at the same time similar to Marvel Legends or The Black Series
>>11920122>>11920141>I've been saying for years that they need to put their whole ass back into a cartoon line.Pic related sums it up very well and I already alluded to this but that making a cartoon is a lost cause. Blackrock and Vanguard has Hasbro by the balls so the most you'll get is some dogshit propaganda like Earthspark (which has all the hallmarks of BlackRock funded propaganda) and kids see right through this shit and refuse to watch it, stuff like Cyberverse and Cyberworld are so hollow and starved of an identity. Even the names are the same, as if for the last 15 years Hasbro has been recycling the same generic taglines and names out of a hat.The best you're going to get really is an anime because that's all people watch anymore but honestly you would be better off making a video game but Hasbro was stupid enough to let their entire video games market for Transformers to utterly blow up in their face.
>>11920286God do I miss beautifully painted and semi glossy releases
>>11920306>CyberverseCyberverse season 3 was really really good though. Season 1 was awful, season 2 was bland (though I appreciated the Hot Rod/Cheetor/Bee trio), but season 3 was great all around. Cyberworld just killed off a main character so maybe that will go somewhere interesting but since its a virtual world I doubt it. >>11920304I think they kind of already did that with the WFC trilogy and then expanded that reach with Legacy by introducing new designs for characters like Knock Out and Bulkhead that match the G1 aesthetic. Fans wanted more faithful designs though so they eased back into making those toys look like the original designs. I think what really hurts the brand now though is that its not as easy to work with car companies to license vehicles as it used to be and that leads to the cars being really lackluster.
>>11920312If "Don't worry guys it gets really good after the first 40 episodes of garbage" is all you have to market your line then it's not worth investing any time into it.It doesn't help that everything about these current shows look and feel painfully generic in every way.
>>11920306God, they need to just let TRIGGER make the Transformer show they clearly desperately want to make
>>11920317>If "Don't worry guys it gets really good after the first 40 episodes of garbage" is all you have to market your line then it's not worth investing any time into it.Hey I would agree. I just liked season 3 of Cyberverse. I'm glad it got to happen.
>>11920317But that applies to basically every show.
>>11920286why can't the factory just use a fucking protective spray coating. is that so hard?
>>11920306why does this shadowy organization care so much about unprofitable shit literally nobody cares about except those profiting from its coverage? i don't understand motivations other than money or morality.
>>11920332Your first mistake is thinking that these guys care about money. They're not the ones raising the prices on the shelf, at least not actively. They don't care about profit the same way the companies they own because they know the long term effects of what they're doing will more than make up for it. Larry Fink himself said that he wants to force behavioral change. They plant propaganda into everything as a means of programming the population into being mindless consumers e.g. the post IDW fans of transformers.
>>11920340>The consumerism I was raised on? Not mindless slop!
>>11920343What are you talking about? It definitely wasn't to the degree it's at now unless you want to be a retard denying the reality in front of you. If you can't see the decline in standards across the board that's on you.
>>11920193>shoulds look stupidYOU look stupid
>>11919949>Also we're not getting Beast Machines. We aren't even getting Strika and she appeared in two other shows. The designers implicitly said we'll be getting Beast Machines in Studio Series. Probably not in 2028 or any time soon but that's a guarantee right there compared to Energon that hasn't been mentioned or even crossed their minds.>>11920096>>11920101>>11920127Either you never bought or played with any of the Energon toys or you're an idiot. Powerlinx is the catch all term for combination during Energon but it isn't the fucking wideline gimmick, that was the Energon Stars and weapons, I am sick of people misremembering this when Powerlinx was only applied to the Autobots not the Decepticons. When people attribute to Powerlinx as a problem for revisiting Energon they mean ONLY the shirt and pants combiners because yeah, that's a gimmick that's tough to work in within budget. And they only make up 1/5th of the toyline like what >>11920108 said. If that's so then why not revisit the OTHER toys in the toyline that don't have the shirt and pants combining gimmick? Optimus is a Scramble City/Megazord Combiner, they can totally do that easily especially because he's Optimus. Both Landmine and Bulkhead are easy to do because they were basically the precursors Siege Leader Class toys. You have the entire fleet of Omnicons as well as Superion Maximus who is also a traditional Combiner to work with. And that's just the Autobots alone, the Decepticons can easily be remade because their gimmick was flip out weapons referred to as 'Hyper Mode'.
>>11920357>YOU look stupidD':
>>11920340I'm saying wtf do they care about if not money? There's only two things in this world, goodness, and money. How the fuck do you side with evil but AGAINST money? Both the short- and long-term effects are harming profits, especially those behavioral changes. These people have made consumerism a dirty word, deliberately. it's bizarre.>>11920343exactly.
>>11920017You should put that chest's STL up for sale so I can buy it.
>>11920360>Powerlinx is the catch all term for combination during Energon but it isn't the fucking wideline gimmick, that was the Energon Stars and weaponsNigga the show's name is Superlink and Energon is a shitty dubism. The Takara designers and writers who created Superlink named it after combination and filled the line with combining figures. You're a bitch and homosexual.
>>11920375>There's only two things in this world, goodness, and moneyThis is how retards view the world. These people own about 80% of the world's wealth and control how much any currency is worth in the modern age. Why do you think these people care about maximizing profits. The only people who care about that are the companies they own. Most of the shit that google runs like Youtube and Gmail operate at a loss but it doesn't matter because they have an entire database containing every little detail about youBesides, in the situation these companies do go bust, shareholders can still profit from their loss by selling them off. Its not about making money, its about strangling anyone who tries to climb the ladder
>>11920382anon i'm the biggest weeb in the world, but we're never going to win people over via hostility. let the superiority of the original speak for itself. and, when the original is actually inferior, point out that nobody should change a creator's vision for such a dumb reason.
>>11920388>Why do you think these people care about maximizing profitswell there's this little mathematical thing that says when you multiply X by Y, the higher X is, the higher the total increase is. The more money you have, the more motivation you have to increase the value. If you add 10% to the value, you just turned a billion into 1.1 billion, get it? You just got 100 mil. whereas if you have a buck, you just made 10 cents. The inverse is true of farmers, miners, fishers, people on the production / just fucking taking shit side of the economy, which is why we kinda need to stop doing those things as a business. THEY benefit from the value of the currency going DOWN. I learned this from Neopets, but it's okay if you're only just now getting it.>they have a database about youagain, so they can sell it. see that's an example of 'evil for money'but what these retards are doing is evil for LOSS of money, and that makes no sense. I know they're commies and all, but.. they can't all be on top in the new order. And you don't get rich with a gambler's mindset.
I asked a dude about a used nova prime he was selling, and he got mad when I said I wanted it for less than retail. I even pointed out to him that you can buy Nova NIB for his original $55 from certain stores.
>>11919333They don't need to re-release those guys because you people were too lazy to get them when they came out, they need to finish out the remaining cassette characters. The Decepticon version should be Howlback, Garboil, Flipsides, Enemy as repaints and finish it out with Slugfest and Overkill as the new tapes. Put Squawktalk, Beastbox and Autoscout with Soundblaster to giv e real incentive to get the repaint.>>11919386They already did Wingthing in the Soundwave Spy Patrol 3rd Unit set.
>>11920392>well there's this little mathematical thingWhat part of "they have infinite money" don't you get. They quite literally control the flow of currency and effectively own companies that sell what are basically necessities to the average person so it doesn't matter how much is lost it will all just go back to them. Your mistake is thinking that these investors are separate and not a monolith.>I know they're commies and allThey don't actually believe in communism. They just push that belief system onto plebs so they can buy up all their property
>>11920394Obviously he thought he could over charge you and get away with it.
>>11920397okay, but if they literally have so much money that they don't care what happens, then... can you guess what my next question is? hint: it has to do with caring what happens.
>>11920382>The Takara designers and writers who created Superlink named it after combination and filled the line with combining figures.Yeah no fucking shit you idiot. But you're forgetting that Energon/Superlink was a cross collaboration between Takara and Hasbro, it wasn't entirely a 100% Takara creation otherwise we'd see them give as much love to it as they're doing with BWII right now. Aaron Archer and Eric Siebenaler both played an important role in the toyline as much as the Japanese designers, bless Kunihiro for making majority of the Autobots.Energon Stars/Chips is the line-wide gimmick, both the Autobots and Decepticons were able to plug the Stars/Chips on them similar to Mini-Cons and the weapons were customizable with each Transformer's personal weapon as well as each other and were backwards compatible with Mini-Cons. Hell, Takara made special repaints of said Energon weapons that are sold either as bonuses to the suped up Transformers or given away as promotional campaign prizes. You don't know jack shit you retard.
Takara has all the power to make new superlink toys without hasbro, but you know they'd do Grand Convoy and Galvatron then call it a day.
>>11920408They already did. Inb4 you insist this doesn't count because it's not a new mold.
>>11920411Oh, that's a good point. There's already Megatron/Galvatron and now Shockblast in core class, a core Grand Convoy would probably be pretty neat. They won't do it, but it would be neat.
>>11920408Doubt it. Takara prefers Hasbro foots the bill so they don't use their own budget. That budget normally going into MP figures or collabs. NL barely counts, since the line is 90% repaints, and only one new mold, and I doubt they'll waste their budget on Grand Convoy or Galvatron, not to mention GC brings in a new set of issues that I'm sure they'd rather avoid.
Got my Missing Link Grimlock today>transforms head into fixed position instead of the original jank versionI'm a monster
>>11920416Look pal, I have no idea what you're talking about with the head.
>>11920414Not to mention NL exist mostly so they have an excuse to make BWII Galvatron. Considering BWII is their creation, they really wanted a new Galvatron to go with Lio Convoy and presumably Hasbro either isn't interested or have him low in their priorities so Takara stepped up their game.If Energon/Superlink was entirely TakaraTomy's product they'd have the same drive and push out Optimus and Megatron but it isn't so for now they're content with repainting Wild King Optimus into Grand Convoy, not even going to extra mileage to retool it even.
>>11920414They'll touch BWII, Car Robots, and Micron Legends before ever touching Superlink.
>>11920413Yeah but it'll never happen since Core Class is dead.
>>11920419G1 Grimlock's robot head was set way behind his shoulders/spine. The Missing Link toy introduces an extra joint so you have the option to move the head into a more properly aligned positioned.
>>11920421They'd even touch Cybertron/Galaxy Force, if what Mark said about one particular Takara designer wanting to have a go at remaking Optimus way before Energon/Superlink.
>>11920423see now THAT is what I'm talkin about! That's what Missing Link is for.
>>11920425The fact that they released Armada Hot Shot and then skipped Energon Hot Shot to release Cybertron Hot Shot shows how little interest they have in doing Energon. It would have been easy to do all three. They did the same with Screamer.
>>11920420The Takara Lio has so much new tooling that I'm inclined to believe they would've made him too if Hasbro wasn't going to play ball. Like remolding all of his fur for some reason.
>>11920421I dont think they care much about car robots
>>11920433I still think it'd be touched before a proper Superlink figure. A cheap repaint of WIld Prime is all you're getting for a long while.
>>11920433Reckon HasLab Omega Prime filled that hole for them, considering the original Car Robots designer got to work on it
>>11920420While I disagree with their logic, I can see why Hasbro would be hesitant to make a new Galvatron since he really hasn’t had a lot of exposure to the western fandom>>11920421>>11920433I feel like a lot of people forget that CR kind of bombed in Japan. That’s why Hasbro had to supplement the line with additional non-show characters, because it did significantly better in the west compared to Japan
Just remembered we're supposed to get a voyager Slash next year. Neat.
>>11920437expect disappointment and hope to be pleasantly surprised
>>11920432that is kinda nuts. i just wish the lion face was slightly larger and taken from some of the less goofy frames of the anime. but it's fine. also there's no right way to do that since the anime cheats, so you're stuck with anime face but ridgy metal mane, being accurate to neither.
>>11920437I am curious what her and Skyfire are going to look like. I remember one leak said she’s a Dinobot retool but that leak also said the Skyfire was the RID version, which apparently isn’t the case. I’m guessing he’ll look like a mix of Classics Jetfire and RM R-Blade
>>11920430It's the worst in Starscream's case because the original toy was a near replica of G2 Smokescreen. Considering how much Takara loves G2, this would've been the golden opportunity to make Energon/Superlink Starscream and then retool him into G2 Smokescreen AND THEN make G2 Dreadwing. >>11920432Very possible ever since the T-Spark initiative happened. But I think Hasbro footing the bill in making Lio Convoy is the push TakaraTomy needed to revive the Legends line into New Legends which eventually lead to BWII Galvatron. I wish they'd show this much love to Armada/Micron Legends, Energon/Superlink and Cybertron/Galaxy Force but as I said before those three anime and toylines were a cross collaboration with Hasbro. So TakaraTomy is probably waiting for Hasbro to fit the bill first before they can do anything with it (and so far they haven't done anything special with Armada/Micron Legends or Cybetron/Galaxy Force).
>>11920441Wouldn’t it make more sense to tool Smokescreen and Dreadwing and then retool Smokescreen on his own into Starscream, like how they did Armada Optimus first, then Nemesis without the trailer
>>11920434That Wild King shit hurt, cannot believe they wouldnt even make his drones
>>11920437I really like the idea of getting new Dinobots in Generations moving forward. I want a G1 version of Scorn and a new version of Skar to go with what we have but I also want other dinos to get toys.
>>11920440I'd buy that Jetfire if they don't fuck him up
>>11920445Considering recent reveals that Starscream does not necessarily have to be the first character of the mold to be made and that Energon/Superlink still doesn't get the love it deserves you're right. I was just thinking that since Starscream has the circuitry detailing on him to show that he is resurrected as a former dead bot similarly to Transmetal II Dinobot, I figured it would be better to release him first and then retool him into G2 Smokescreen, erasing the circuitry detailing just like how most Siege molds that get re-released into SS86 have their greebling shaved off like Shockwave.
>>11920446Not to mention he's bundled with 5 Energy Beasts and is locked behind TakaraTomy Mall exclusive meaning he is difficult to get and no way to get him on his own.
>>11920449He’s apparently a Reactivate Starscream retool, which I’ve heard is a good mold, so he’ll probably be decent at the very least. The twin wrist cannons is why I think they’ll pull from Classics Jetfire as well, rather than fully being R-Blade
>>11920450it'd be so nice to get a better TM2 dinobot, but 3P has shown us that he's basically impossible. the toy deliberately went weird, the TV model fixed him up a lot (though it goofed up the beast mode a bit, but he was almost never in it), and he really needs a significant redesign before he'll look great. both modes essentially have legs for arms, and you can tell.
>>11920453I can see that in Jetfire colours
>>11920451>5 Energy BeastsHad to double check, the green dude is adding so little my eyes passed over him. Still, could've been a decent desk toy but not for $120.
>>11920458it's like, I get that it's for kids, but shit when I was a kid (in the 90s) looked better. This looks like someone looked at the inferior shit of the 80s, and tried to fix it without knowing how, so it ended up kind of a lateral move despite being bad in opposite ways. instead of a brick that sheds kibble, it's just a mass of crumpled up kibble masquerading as body parts.
>>11920473Worst part is the combination loses articulation, no elbows or ankle tilts, though Optimus doesn't have ankle tilts to begin with. It's a nice gesture but still a mediocre product with the ability to swap out limbs and backpack and having the best Optimus deco being its only saving grace. I'd only be fine with it if HasTak decides to make a Prime Force Set 2 with the Energy Beasts reimagined and remade as drones for an Energon Optimus remake but nothing of the sort has even happened yet.
>>11920053I really wanted the platinum edition of these guys back when it came out anfd I wish I went through with it. It's a lot less goofy in g1 supreme colors
>>11920067Just put like 2 relavant/matching transformers with your Braves l and post ithem man.I
>>11920480>I'd only be fine with it if HasTak decides to make a Prime Force Set 2 with the Energy Beasts reimagined and remade as dronesThat'll be another $100 lol
>>11920112They shouldn't have split the lines into babies/young kids and collectors so much and make more of an everyone thing, somehow. with crazy shit like Rexblade, pirate scourge etc but that can appeal to G1erds too and make good tie in stuff again
>>11920127Fucking why do Transmetals need vacuum metal again?
>>11920488you'd think takara would have learned from the debacle with zoids. the current much-more-middle-of-the-road lines are massively outselling the ultra-complex-adult-collector and simplified babymode lines, the latter of which flat-out died except that its molds keep getting used for crossovers.
>>11920489it's pretty, and it contrasts nicely with the 'organic robot modes'. They need to just put a goddamn protective coat on it.actually I wonder if Transmetals were a reaction to how the tv show used very different textures for the beast flesh and robot parts, even when they shared colors. Something the toys decidedly did not do.
>>11920489Because it's fucking cool
Didn’t dragon megatron already not have vac metal? Just do them all with or without but do not mix it up.
>>11920492>>11920493That didn't answer my question. I don't think you even know why I asked.
>>11920489Its cool and half the appeal of the designs. >>11920492I'm not sure but I do think they were introduced too soon. Beast Wars would have benefitted from just sticking to animals for the first three years and then introducing concepts like Transmetals and Fuzors later to freshen the line up for the next three years. Doing them right off the bat kind of lead to the line needing a major refresh after three years but the two coolest gimmicks were already used so instead we got Beast Machines for the refresh since it was a natural progression of Transmetals II but Beast Machines were really ugly. And then we would have gotten Transtech after that which evolved the concept even further. It all just moved too fast. Still love the Transmetals though.
>>11920494In generalG1 had vac metal so there's way too many to list that don't now. For Beast Wars related guys Transmetal 2 Megatron, Skybyte ,Cybershark, Ravage, and Transmetal Optimal Optimus had vac metal but their new toys didn't.
Oh also Transmetal Megatron won't. 'probably.
>>11920503>>11920493>>11920492Hasbro refuses to do Transmetals because they can't do vac metal so for as cool as you think these guys are you are saying you think Hasbro is right?
>>11920506I want it for Depth Charge and Rampage though. Please don't let me lose hope.
>>11920515>because they can't do vac metalSkill issue, cowardice, etc.
>>11920522Mostly a cheapskate thing
>>11920516I'm still in shock that Transmetal Megatron is a combiner that my brain pictured these 2 as combiners with 4 Seasprays because I can'rt think of anymore boats ansd my head hurts
>>11920525iirc vac metal only works on certain types of plastic and I imagine that requires pricing and engineering considerations hasbro can't be assed with
>>11920530I want to say it's really toxic too but I might be making that up
>>11920526I want to be optimistic but I know its going to be bad.
>>11920531Its not.
>>11920503oh absolutely. Beast Wars was really sped through and that was to its detriment. They would have sold better even just releasing the same toys but spread out more. There were so many I wanted, and had money for, but couldn't find.
>>11920531I think you're thinking of non-stick coating
>>11920503>concepts like FuzorsThat was just 90s. Mutant shit was going to get involved sooner rather than later
>>11920537introducing transmetals and fuzors simultaneously was also kind of unwise.
>>11920537Yeah and it was really cool but it might have been good to save it. I love Torca's design.>>11920539Yeah I agree. Fuzors kind of got the short end of the stick too because Transmetals was pushed further as a concept.
>>11920503>>11920534I'm guessing there was a lesson learnt from this which is why the three Unicron Trilogy anime's all felt like three seasons expanded into three shows. Well, mostly for the first two
>>11920539I think "make new toys for the same characters" was both the mission statement as well a somewhat alien requestLike sure some toylines reused characters before, like TMNT and Batman obviously, but Transformers has historically always been a bit differentKennner/Hasbro chose to reinvent the wheel and put out Transmetals, but I think the next timeline over may have had load of retooled year one toys, like Armorized™ Cheetor and Capture Claw™ Rattrap
>>11920546that's a really good point actually.I'm all for transformers getting new bodies, but it's better if it's a bit more special. of course, they were probably sort of juggling "wait, how close is our toyline to the tv show now? are kids supposed to assume these toy-only characters came out of pods?" and that's why we got no non-tv-character transmetal 1s.
>>11920553Technically there were two basic-class originals and they renamed TM Inferno since Inferno was shelfwarming really bad but I do think they planned to use characters the show promoted because they were still juggling things. Then they got more experimental with TMII figures.
>>11920553>that's why we got no non-tv-character transmetal 1s.And that's where Fuzors comes in I suppose, bulk out that year's toys with non-show charactersThough of course what happened was they came up with two ideas and just used both of them. We've seen the concept art of gorilla/eagle fuzor Primal. So this maybe could have just easily been the other way around.Bulk of the show cast becomes Fuzors and triple changing metal animals get to play back up
>>11920558oh yeah, Scavenger.>basic class originalsehhh you mean the remolds with some metallic paint that they called transmetals? those do not count.
>>11920564It is why I said "technically."
>>11920531Hasbro if they weren't cowards
>>11920566oh right.I was just stuck on how Scavenger is a grey area, so I can see either accepting or not accepting him (I accept him)Gotta say, I love how Kingdom gave me permission to have alt timeline versions of characters, so transmetals that never appeared on the show are fun. Just wish we'd gotten more recolors..
I found some pics of the new TLK Megs
>>11920589anyone else find it weird we still have number-of-steps on packaging? I mean it doesn't even tell you anything. steps are arbitrary. and what if it has more modes?
>>
>>11920590I think they started doing it for the parents that complained about the transformations being too difficult. Now they can tell how complex a figure is and decide whether to get it or not. I think it's dumb anyway since I loved the more complex figures when I was a kid
>>11920515TM2 Megatron, Tigerhawk, Razorclaw, and Gelshark all came out perfectly fine, and we're even getting a TM Cybershark recolor of the latter.
>>11920571I used to do this with vac metal chrome lego...
>>11920546They did it from day 1 with alligator and bat megs anfd primal too so it wasn't even a season 2 thing. Inferno was going to be a new Megatron body too and asome of the McDonald's toys . And scrapped plans for triple changers like bull crab rattrap
>>11920447>I want a G1 version of Scorn and a new version of Skar to go with what we haveThat's cool and all, but...can poor Paddles get a toy first? Hasn't he waited long enough?
>>11920602I think the Inferno thing might be a misunderstanding, given we know one early idea for Megatron was to retool his T Rex toy into a dragon, which Hasbro probably called Inferno Megatron>>11920603Paddles is the easiest to do, just retool Sludge to have flippers instead of feet and you have Paddles
>>11920591such an ugly head. A shame because I think the alt modes are pretty good.
>>11920607>Paddles is the easiest to doThen why the hell haven't they done that yet?
>>11920620Because it is a character who only existed in a questionable text story, is very obscure, and breaks the group theme naming.
>>11920622>breaks the group theme namingGrimlock did that right out of the gate, bro.
>why havent they done [turbo glup supreme]
>>11920620Nonnef is basically your best bet
>>11920607When they do make TM Megatron I expect him to be head-swappable with Legacy Inferno, both for that and to recreate the scene where they actually swapped heads for a gag.
>>11920607They should do a version of Kingdom megs like this
>>11920450>I figured it would be better to release him first and then retool him into G2 Smokescreen, erasing the circuitry detailing just like how most Siege molds that get re-released into SS86 have their greebling shaved off like Shockwave. That's not how that works. They don't alter the existing steel molds to add or remove surface detail, new parts get new molds. So it wouldn't matter either way who was made first.
>>11920453That is a good toy and I'm sure it will look nice in Jetfire colours but I just don't like the idea of the Cyberjet/MW jets being any bigger than deluxe.
>>11920613>such an ugly headIsn't that just being faithful to the source material for the Bay movies?
>>11920376Thanks! I very well might.
>>11920613>>11920674head looks better on the figure than the movie I'm hoe
>>11920589>>11920591Hm, not a fan of those hinges. Might pick up the old voyager instead.
>>11920626He's the leader, he's allowed to be special.
>>11920079They better do a repaint like pic related.
>>11920695and then man-e-faces can watch the hall since he has many faces
>>11920607this rulesI don't give a fuck about either of his transmetal forms
Have they shown or at least described Leader Lugnut? He's pretty much the only thing I'm looking forward in the near future.
>>11920732We haven't seen anything from the megatron rising line yet
>>11920688I genuinely feel like he's a proto Studio Series and was one of the best Movieverse mainline figures still
>>11920453I didn't see it before but this almost looks like a cyberjet mold pretool. Obviously far from perfrcy and honestly the original molds plus ankle tilts and a wridt swivelwould work just fine, but this mold works.I would give it the Gamer Edition hand gimmick so you can mount the hand missile launcher between the tailfins. Or maybe make that missile launcher peg over the robot mode hand.
>>11920607>I think the Inferno thing might be a misunderstanding, given we know one early idea for Megatron was to retool his T Rex toy into a dragon, which Hasbro probably called Inferno MegatronBob Forward was pretty clear in the interview about this in the 1997 interview. >HooksX: Speaking of getting grim: It is no secret that many of the Predaconshave come very close to final deactivation. Will any of the Beast Warriors meet their demise in the three-part finale? Were there ever plans to killany Beast Warriors?>BeastBob1: Oh yes. For a while there Hasbro was planning to make the Infernotoy the new Megatron. We were going to kill Megatron and bring him back asInferno. A few other deaths were planned as well. But I don't want to giveaway too much.Everything you posted is just conjecture when the simplest thing is to just believe the guy working on the show knows what he's talking about. The only "evidence" is that they were planning on making a dragon Megatron early on but nowhere I can find ever said that it would have been called Inferno Megatron.
>>11920607This art gives me hope that the nee Transmetal remold of the Kingdom figure could be good
>>11920819>inferno Megatron Is BM Primal, Paradiso Munkky
Someone really wanted Megatron to be a bug for some reason.
Beetle looks like he could have been a Megatron concept too
I have no idea why they were going to do such a peaceful cute turtle megatron but ok
>>11920838>>11920836>Cower before my new form, Optimus Primal! >why are you laughing, stop laughing I am doom incarnate
>>11920838In order to go with the manta ray Optimus
>>11919247Am I alone in thinking that most of the remakes of the cassette guys by Takara/Hasbro look like shit? I miss the feet on Blaster's guys. I miss the giant wings of steeljaw. I hate the teeny rockets and what looks like a dragon head on Ravage. Honestly, Ramhorn seems to be the one given decent justice. Even some 3rd parties shit the bed here and there. What's crazy to me too, like... again, Ravage. In this age of Blokees and such, in this year of 2026... WHY is there not even a decent non-transforming figure of him, articulated or otherwise? (Even the Baroness one here looks way off, if but slightly nice).
Can't believe I bought this piece of shit.

>>11920849I read that in Kaye's voice.
>>11920836>>11920838My favorite little tidbit about this mess McDonald's toys is the fact that one of the concepts was vehicles clearly based on the G2 Autoroller molds

>>11920602that doesn't count
>>11920629i'm sorry but that just isnt how the paddles need to work.. they have to attach at the shoulders and hips.
>>11920819he could still be mistaken himself
>>11920949Agreed. You'd need to completely remove the dinosaur arms and legs and replace them with entirely new limbs that plug into the sockets. That kit just looks like he's running around in loose stockings with the toes flopping all over the place.
>>11920901that's not what I remember that one looking like.. it doesn't have any heels. This is the one that came in red and blue right? Everything else on him looks okay.
>>11920785Welp, that's all the motivation I need to pick him up.
>>11920902I saw this in stores and thought "Oh cool, they're re-releasing the old RiD stuff". I didn't buy it because I still have my old one, but I didn't realize it was an entirely new figure that everyone hates.
>>11920902If the shoulders were just attached to his fucking torso the figure would be fine in robot mode but for whatever reason they attached them to the fucking back kibble. I think there's no fixing that ugly vehicle mode though. I know dodge assraped them over the original toy's release and made them pay the licensing fee but I think they could have at least tried to make an appealing sports car.
>>11921003I've been saying that about real life cars for years and years now
>>11920901I'm fine with them in theory, they do their job even if they could be better, but my overall issue with them is the tapemodes don't look like tapes. They lack the details and stickers of the G1 tapes.
>>11921011if I was redesigning soundwave right now, I'd definitely make him a mothership, with the tapes being little mini space-invader ships that vaguely look like tapes, before becoming cool robo animals.
>>11920589It always feels like they waste too much space with these boxes. And then they display the figure in the worst way possible, like that meme of the kid strapped down on a cross.
>>11921015Boxes have to be uniform for retailers so they're designed to fit the biggest possible figure.
>>11920901They barely look like tapes anymore.
>>11920902Yeah, I just stuck with the originals
>>11921018My original is basically flop from years of play and shelfware. I guess I could restore it but the clear plastic is starting to disintegrate and crack. The other two brothers are really fargone too. I'd really like it if they had just reissued these three with fresh plastic.
>>11920902The car mode is putrid shit
>>11920985That's a non-transforming Ravage they sold at a convention or something. You might be thinking of the blue Masterpiece Ravage they just randomly included in the GI Joe Transformer crossover toy of Soundwave.
>>11920626>>11920622Name his Splash. Or Surf.Easy.
>>11921038I got the Shadow Striker remold and yeah it really is, tiny too. Putting it next to any '07 car mold makes them look like entirely different size classes.
>>11920923>G2 Autoroller>look inside>they were bad guys
>>11921044ah yeah, that. Okay just making sure.that's weird, to make a non-transforming ravage and make it look like that.
>>11920819In the Hasbro Botcon 96 panel, the main Hasbro guy is super hyped about the then unnamed Fire Ant mold and says it’s the best one yet, so I think they were really wanting it to be a big deal.
>>11921055The Omnicons are also guilty of that
random as fuck thing to ask, but is anyone unhappy with the head from toy-style Dinobot, and would rather have a normal dinobot head? I'd be happy to trade, and I think my custom would turn out better for it.
Got GT Scorcher on Clearance at Walmart lmao Do I like him?I like his Alt mode and Robot has a nice look to itIs he good?Debatably. Better than some others currently out thereDoes his "Sword" bring great dishonor to his heritage? It is a foolish notion to call one such a Blade. Great dishonorSudoku recommended

>>11921167Feet a bit ehh, Boxy ass chest and proportions and head just on swivel kinda sucks but honestly for $15 solid
>>11921168I love these guys. Now give me the Deora II.
>>11921068I wasnt it a massive flop?
>>11921186BW Inferno? It was a really bad shelfwarmer because Hasbro overproduced and retailers over-ordered. The same thing happened to Silverbolt.
>>11921186I've never seen proof of this but it's said there was still Infernos on shelves in 2000
>>11921198exactly. It was a great toy, EVERYONE had one. But because of how he was single-packed, there were just way too many left. I still remember getting him, being pleasantly surprised my mom was cool spending that kinda money on me, when I was well past the point of 'typically using my allowance to buy stuff like that' just because we were out at a store and I saw something I wanted..>Silverboltreally? I never once saw him on shelves, and I looked. Plus he was a deluxe, so he wouldn't have that singlepacking issue.
>>11920902I hear you, I don't know why they couldn't make it look closer to his sports car design. If they were trying to combine his and Shadow Striker's alt-modes then they failed. At least there's this cool combo.
>>11921225>really? I never once saw him on shelves, and I looked. Plus he was a deluxe, so he wouldn't have that singlepacking issue.I dunno I read it once but maybe I'm wrong.

>>11921275I mean by Transmetals. The regular terrirsaur did sell really fast, most of the season 1 cast from 96 did. Which is likely what encouraged the Transmetals to be made since they’re mostly show characters

>>11921308damn, Madge is younger'n me? I never once considered that. You seem so experienced. yeah, Beast Wars fucking ruled for a 10-12 year old coming off of power rangers (and TMNT before that), but not yet learning about anime. great time for toys.

I feel underwhelmed with all these new reveals, most are just repaints, and the few new molds are weird looking. The exclusives either don't interest me or are way overpriced. The only reveals even mildly interesting are Red Alert and Nautica, and they both look weird.
Got this guy earlier today. Holy fuck. I’ve been buying these figures for a long time. This actually might be the single worst designed transformation on a figure I own. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to use double-jointed plates with spring loaded flaps for the torso? Legit impossible to get it to tab together correctly without popping apart if you breathe on it wrong. Requires so much force to actuate some of these joints that I’m actually worried I might snap something, too. It’s a shame. Once this thing is in either mode, it’s a really sharp looking figure.
>>11921733>The only reveals even mildly interesting are Red Alert and Nautica, and they both look weird.Yeah I was interested in Nautica but she looks very off, puffy almost. Hopefully we get a better look at her soon. As for Red Alert I am very content with my Kingdom version.I'm honestly glad to not have much that interests me, let my wallet breathe for a bit. I kind of want Alpha Bravo, but I don't know if I "$30" want him.
>>11921759Yeah, I liked the Vortex mold, but I also got it for 16, and I don't like it enough to pay 30. Nautica is just odd, many puffy bits, flat chest, and her head looks odd, like she's wearing a helmet, I'm pretty sure it didn't look like that in the comic either. On Red Alert, the proportions looked weird in some pics and the head looked sunken in.Not really saving so much, since I'm getting some of those new legends releases. Debating on getting Gigastorm and Nemesis Star Convoy.
>>11921750I've never had trouble with him, but I will say it's interesting how his back kibble has a lot of weirdly concentrically duplicate joints, so you can mess around with it a lot.meanwhile the crotch splitting apart, THAT worries me.
>>11921780There were some breakage issues left arm, most were people forcing panels, but a notable one that impacts all versions is the hip covers for beast mode, the pin can ger loose with time and I'll start falling out. Also, for some reason, the left shoulder could break, but I only ever heard this happened with Megatron.
>>11921785well that's no good! sometimes I feel smart for not transforming my stuff often. but most of the time I feel like a real idiot for never enjoying my stuff. i just.. i sit at the desk, i sleep, repeat. there's never time, space, or lighting to enjoy things.
Damn MTMTE Prowl is a whole ass project straight out of the box. I found 6 copies and every one of them was a total QC lemon. Widespread reports confirm this figure is the latest QC shitshow.
>>11921797Really? Mine does have an issue, but it's a slightly loose ankle. Aside from that, I didn't find any issues.
>>11921797>he hasn’t turned his waist yet
>>11921711He big truckPossibility wise SS86 beats it. I DO like the chunkyness and he's nicer in some spots but I think it's personal preferenceIf you go SS86 you DEFINTELY want the kit for the shouldersThe base SS86 has some issues where some plastics can stress just doing fucking transformationhttps://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256812914580883.html
>>11921802MP22 is one of those toys that I frequently forget how much I like it
>>11921797>I found 6 copies and every one of them was a total QC lemonPeople like you should be ridiculed like animals.
What molds do you think will be used for Nexus Prime final two limbs?
>>11921664Starwarsscream
>>11921824same one as superion, doubt any of bruticus' will work. No idea if menasor's fit in that frame
>>11921809Bro 4 of them were detached at the waist in the box >>11921800Was meant for >>11921798
>>11921711MP-22 is nice but I haven’t touched mine once since I got the 86. I was on the fence over the 86 for a long time, but I’m glad I got him. He’s pretty great. >>11921802This anon summarized it pretty well. 86’s articulation is better and it has a better face sculpt. The MP’s articulation really sucks. It looks fantastic in both modes though. It’s more a matter of scale than anything else. If you want him to scale with mainline well then 86 it is
>>11921866Just did, and it's fine? Even spinned it 360 both ways.
>>11921788>i just.. i sit at the desk, i sleep, repeat.Good Lord, that's depressing. I make it a point to get out of the house for a few hours a day, not counting my afternoon walk or my graveyard shift. Seriously, get up and move a bit - you'll feel a lot better about a lot of things.
I wanna buy a fast action battler to check out. Which one is the best?
>>11921750I have the Kingdom boxset and I think Megatron might be my least favorite. He's really clunky, the transformation sucks, and the crotch split is worrying. Scorponok is a worse toy but Megatron is a character I have higher expectations for. Inferno is the best. Everyone should own a Legacy Inferno.
>>11921888>get out of the housethat's a good way to get shot here. I'm focusing on trying to get a job (which I really, really can't actually do, but disability is too hard to apply for and I've already done it twice) to get the fuck out of here. But instead, more broke family is moving IN, so my space got smaller. I almost can't move around anymore, I bump into shit every few feet. And the sad thing is, just about everyone I know is in a worse situation.
>>11921797Outside of the chest coming unplugged easily mine is basically perfect. One of my favorite deskbuddies.
>>11921923The Frenzy that becomes a stereo
>>11921940a bit on the rarer side but I made offer. My maybe list was: Barricade, Blackout, maybe the white and red ratchet.

They should give Rodimus Prime vehicle mode flight wings and thrusters if his altmode is a space Winnebago.
>>11921957I want Rodimus to have a trailer that actually functions as something interesting.
So it comes up sometimes but is there a list of like "The Good ones" for IDW graphic novels and story stuff?
>>11921824Well, if we go by his first pic on TFwili all he needs is a tank and helicopter. What I've been thinking is if Sky Guard becomes a leg, and Breakaway becomes an arm, they could have Bruticus remolded into a proper Nexus, and give him a repainted Brawl as Landquake, a repainted Vortex as Topspin, and then enough accessories to force Sky Guard to fit, and AotP Nexus to be an alt-torso.
>>11921963Super mode? That's about the only interesting thing a trailer can do.>>11921968Chaos Theory, Last Stand of the Wreckers and MTMTE Vol.1-8 are the stand-outs.I have a soft spot for Optimus Prime but mostly for the Kei Zama art.
>>11921968man, so many cool altmodes you never see. cybertronian biplane. of course!
>>11921950Wonder how the combiner will work since the only Dinobots are Snarl and Grimlock>>11921956We saw Skybyte in the pod at the end so I assume they can all respawn at some point.
Is Galvatron actually supposed to be this much bigger?
>>11922023Maybe it will be somewhat similar to Energon Mega-Dinobot>>11922034My legitimate answer is that it depends. Galvatron is one of those characters whose height changes depending on who he’s next to. I’ve argued that he should probably be a bit smaller, but then the BWNeo anime shows him being bigger than Magmatron due him actually being Unicron in disguise
>>11922034Bigger if anything. The new toy is the same height as Magmatron, Galvatron was a head taller than him.
>>11919386prepare to be disappointed.
>>11921614>Buy 1, get1Yes, of course, isn't that how it works normally?
>>11922113Buy one, get one 50% off. Pay full price for the first item, and you can get a second item of an equal or lesser retail cost at a 50% discount. Do they not do stuff like that wherever you're from?
>>11921968The Lost Light stuff was always neat to me, even though it goes to some really dumb places by the end.
I dont suppose those anons who were discussing gift giving and the valentine set from a day or so ago are still around? They reminded me of a story by O'Henry called "The Gift of the Magi". Of either of you two are still around and want to understand the practice and motivation of gift giving a little bit better, i reccomend you take a few minutes and read it. Its plenty shirt, and i think you'll get a lot out of it.https://americanenglish.state.gov/files/ae/resource_files/1-the_gift_of_the_magi_0.pdf
>>11921968The Furman run, then stop because it's all downhill.
>>11919264>This will be my first and last RewindShame. I found the TR one oddly appealing. Probably because it actually fet like its own toy, instead of just being a brick/accessory for something else. Even though it also was that.
>>11922151The elbow broke on mine and I never figured out what to do about it. His corpse is interred in a small box of similarly broken transformers. I've managed to repair a few over the years, but not him.
>>11919814>>11920306I don't understand why people get so mad at the pronoun thing in Earthspark, or trans people existing. Trans representation in Transformers isnt even that good we dont even have a full on Trans character like IDW in mainstream cartoons. I dont see the problem with it they exist in real life and it would be nice if those kids had something for them. My ex has 1 trans kid and he loves transformers.

>>11922151I always thought this guy was underrated. His tank mode was cute, and I loved that his gun was also a stylus/antenna/turret barrel; incredibly versatile plastic toothpick. My only complaint was that he didn't have a proper cockpit for a headmaster to ride in.
>>11922164I didnt ask for this world to be filled with bigotry where my wife's children don't feel safe posting in toy collector forums because of incel pedophiles whacking off to Kiss Players either but here we are. You are a pedophile if you do that by the what despite the fact they are drawings.
