What's your response, /toy/?
>>11922452Fuck off spammer
that fig looks like shit
>>11922452Let me guess without watching the video, he uses the existence of this thing that can barely pose and with any paint to shit all over the Haslab sentinel? And I’m sure he mentions the nothingburger knee issue several times.
>>11922452Which side are you on?Michael on the side of toys should provide more plastic for less or Anthony on the side of toys need to be high quality adult collectibles to be worthwhile even it it means it has to be expensive?https://youtu.be/EBu-BKDndyE
>>11922452Haven’t seen the video, but did he use this as an example to say everyone is lying about toy prices? I know he doesn’t even collect Transformers.
>>11922473You say that as if he's wrong to do so.>>11922482Team Michael all the way. If you want an adult collectible then buy a statue.
>>11922486He did and they are.
to what
>>11922452>he’s still seething about the toy guru debateWasn’t expecting to get such a hearty kek tonight
>>11922452Clean it up jannies.
>>11922452What? He's 100% right. Toy companies, especially Hasbro are taking us all for a ride because they know dumbasses will pay. They all keep jacking up the prices and then paying their CEOs and upper management inflated salaries and bonuses.
>>11922572Indeed.
The video is saying because they made a $35 big figure with limited articulation (he has never seen Big Figs before so this Optimus is shocking to him, he keeps talking about it being shocking it's at retail when Big Figs have always been at retail) and thinks the Sentinel Marvel Legend should have been released at retail for half the price or something because of it. He also keeps bringing up the current world situation because he thinks this was planned priced and produced a few months ago so he still doesn't know how long toys take to be made. He also says "kids will see this and see a cool robot!!" but then says "because it has a 40th anniversary logo on it's marketed towards adults! If they weren't aiming for adults they wouldn't put that on it" as if toy companies have something to prove and it isn't the 40th anniversary, it's a strange thing to bring up like it's an actual point. Because just like how kids would, adults would also still buy it if it didn't have the 40th anniversary logo on it. Hasbro are over charging though, but now you don't have to watch the video
>>11922452isnt that optimus just the equivalent to one of these? calling them figures is kinda generous id say and theyve always been priced as such (like 30 msrp). the walmart by me was basically handing the darth vader ones at one point
>>11922652It has like a few more points of articulation but that's why it is $35 and not $30
>>11922652I think I even remember some videos where Michael offhandedly mentioned that he disliked those kinds of figures and referred to them as "shampoo bottle figures"
I don’t think an ip or range ban is enough, just death.
>>11922482>adult collectiblesFucking hell. It feels good to know these types will be killed when society collapses. They're toys. Call them toys.
>>11922617Unfortunately, toys are even more of a luxury hobby than gaming or outdoor hobbies so toy companies will take ANY opportunity to increase prices. If fully articulated figures were once 10 dollars and imports 20, it was likely because they were so cheap they could give them away without taking a loss.
>>11922617I can’t stand watching this know it all faggot, I’ve worked with people just like him, always second guessing every decision, thinking they would easily do better but never actually doing anything themselves.
>>11922674Firing squad at Fort Hood please, thank you for your attention to this matter
if only reporting worked and wasn't a waste of time
>you want a good looking transformer that doesn't transform but has decent articulations and decent price?>This is the best we can do>t. Hasbro- Biggest toy company in America and 3rd in the world after Lego and BandaiCan you really blame people for complaining?
>>11922572>>11922611Michael's hands typed these.
>>11922856>just start a toy company bro
Did everyone forget when jakks made pic related nearly a decade ago alongside a similarly scaled and poseable John Cena? I know this is a retrospammer thread, and any attempts to further legitimate conversation will be derailed or ignored, but there is genuinely truth to what retroblasting has to say. Even if retail release Galactuses and Sentinels had to be gimped to meet a budgeprice point, it should have been done.
>>11922968I've never seen that Batman. I like the printing they did for shading. Do you remember the price?
>>1192297039.99. And that was back when Jakks still owned the big figs brand. It's since been bought out by the guys who did this new optimus prime, shushu papa
>>11922973That's a fair price I'd say. I dig it.
>>11922463It's meant to have a 1970s "Shogun Warriors" vibe to it. I think it's actually pretty cool because of it. I didn't see Michael's video though because he always finds something to nit-pick about.
>>11922520??What debate?
>>11922978Here's hoping the Prime sells well enough to merit similar releases. Megatron, the Iron Giant, Liberty Prime, Mechagodzilla, Godzilla, etc. There might even be room in there for a limited shogun warriors revival as a retail exclusive for the Christmas season. I'd pay through the nose for Mazinger Z alone, especially at 35 bucks.
>>11922978He had no complaints about Prime.
>>11922982>I'd pay through the nose for Mazinger Z alone, especially at 35 bucks. The original shogun warriors recently got reissued due to how stupid-high the prices have gotten.
>>11922987Yeah I saw, but they were asking what, 225$? Even with all the bells and whistles thats too rich for my blood.
>>11922988yeah it's a bit pricey for a shampoo-bottle toy, but it's still cheaper than the original.
