== STOLEN GROUPBUILD ==

Build a Mecha or vehicle built by one faction, but change its aesthetics and style to its rival faction! Examples include but are not limited to
>Canon examples of mechs being stolen and used by another group (ie: Casval's Gundam, Feddie Zakus, Ashura Mazinger, etc)
>Designs intended for one faction that were repurposed into a design for another faction (ie: Gerbera Tetra)
>What-if scenarios (ie: A Titans color Zeta Gundam)
>Stylistic interpretation (ie: What would a EFF version of the Z'gok look like?)
When it comes to your build, really make it clear that your mecha is being used by the other side!

START: 8/16/26
END: 11/15/26

Send a description along with both WIP and Finished images of your build to gunplaplamo@gmail.com. Photo submission guidelines:
>Minimum 6 images shot from multiple poses/angles, the more the better
>Don't resize the images, if they are too big to send just send them in a zip

So I'm putting a lot of consideration into buying an airbrush. What would you guys recommend that's a good balance between quality and price?
>>
>>11930716
Iwata Neo is a decent starter brush and only $75. It CAN be a little ass to clean, but it will still provide good coverage.

You could also get the Eclipse. Better quality and easier to clean, but double the price

You also have to get a compressor, so take that into consideration

Hey fellas i;m starting my christmas shopping early and figured I'd ask you are there any good fantasy themed kits that aren't the Yugi-oh or 30mFantasy kits?

First time?
>>
>>11931251
In the thread? Yeah, but yes, also in this situation, sorta, there was Gouf Zaku that was out of stock for a while, but it wasn't nearly as long as this one
>>
>>11931250
Bandai has such a huge catalog of kits across all of its lines that loads of them go for years without reprints. So your only recourses are to either wait years for a possible reprint, or search ancient Japanese mom and pop shops for leftover stock from previous printing runs.

I've seen a few kits that have little box compressors with them in the $100 range, but I don't imagine something like that will hold up well long-term. Iwata Neo seems like a good place to start from, thanks.

There's nothing quite like bad cleaning experience to turn you off the whole thing.

My Sazabi collection is growing.
The clear one isn't very photogenic though.

What makes this one a pain to clean? Looks the same as any other airbrush to me

The difference is in the nozzle, see pic related.
You need to remove the nozzle in order to properly clean the channel, especially after strong pigments like red or yellow and after primer.

Iwata has a nozzle assembly that you can pull out with your fingers and then put back in, no tools required, takes a fraction of a second. Cleaning is a pleasure.

Neo has a tiny nozzle that you need to unscrew from the body using a tiny tool and then screw back on when you're done. You have to be careful not to mess up the thread and not to destroy the tiny rubber o-ring by screwing it on too tightly. The tiny shit is also a lot easier to lose. You will hate cleaning after 2 or 3 times.
>>
>>11932035
looks like you did a good job of putting it together cleanly; no blatant fucky-wuckies.
>>
>>11932180
>after 2 or 3 times

How frequently are you taking apart your air brush?

A full nozzle disassembly isn't necessary for cleaning unless something isn't working correctly
>>
>>11932249
>How frequently are you taking apart your air brush
After every session and by "apart" I mean removing the nozzle and the needle to clean the channel.

>full nozzle disassembly isn't necessary for cleaning unless something isn't working correctly
I don't wait till "something isn't working correctly", that's probably why my airbrushes still work after 10+ years.

Being a clear kit I was a bit more careful with nub removal on account of the possibility of seeing it through the kit.

Let's say you got https://www.hlj.com/mr-cotton-swab-triangular-superfine-type-gnzst04 and they are just not fine enough for what you want to do.

Here's how to make them hyperfine (sort of) in one easy step.

does anyone have this one or the vise from dspiae? are they worth their money?
also with singles day coming up, any general chinese tool recs?

I wouldn't bother, this years 1111 sale sucks ass. Things I bought during the year cost more now on 1111 sale than they did without any sale. Thanks Trump I guess.

hey that's my hi zack
I'll admit, not my best job, mostly because I used a different type of topcoat this time, Vallejo, which is too thick so the finish ended up looking a bit tacky

but anyways, here is the second HG Titans stuff I'm working on now, the Tokyo Rabbit Hazel

Its another third party HG kit but it is miles and ages beyond the old Bandai one as it has more parts, better parts separation and more extras

it is also pretty sleek and I'm almost certain it is a copy of the metal robot spirits figure but in kit form, which may or not appeal to everyone, as the old kit is fat and chunkier but perhaps more accurate tot he original lineart

you will still need to do some touch ups if you want it to look as accurate as possible, like with those thrusters in the back skirt armor, for which I used a gundam yellow marker, same for the inside of the main thursters and the small 5 segments in the green clear part in the middle of the crest of the head

I still need to do the weapons and paint the fingertips of the hands with red, as I did with that Hi Zack in the OP

something to have in mind is that unlike many other 3rd part kits, the parts are not undergated, so nubs are inevitable
the white parts are NOT BARE plastic, they are actually painted in a very nice satin white

also, the fit can be very tight everywhere so you have to be careful when assembling it

strangely, it comes with the joint connectors for both arms and legs that are intended for when the Woundwort main body uses these limbs... but as far as I know, you can't do that with the metal robot spirits figure and this company has yet to release a woundwort kit

there is also the official HG and AK Model wounwort kits, but I don't know if those are even compatible with this thing

unfortunately america can shit things up for the entire world
